Unfortunately, I had already ordered my meal, so I just hoped the food would be better. It wasn’t. My poached eggs were raw, with water all over the toast and avocado. I sent it back, only for it to come back looking worse—they had clearly just taken the eggs off and thrown it together again. The “fresh” toast was so hard and overdone that I couldn’t even cut it.

While I sat waiting for my husband to finish, three different staff members came up insisting how fresh the bread was. That didn’t change the fact it was terrible—hard, dry, and more like over baked bird seed than proper sourdough.

To make matters worse, the older lady at the front was rude when removing the charge for my meal. I hadn’t been difficult or rude—just straightforward and polite with a smile—but instead of offering an apology she waved us off with an arm and stormed away.

What was meant to be a nice breakfast during our visit to Brisbane turned out to be a huge disappointment. For $27-30+ a meal, you expect decent service and properly cooked food. This place failed on every level.
