The best mama I have ever had – The John Deere mower was the best mowers I have had it coming results when I went over my lorn to check how good the cutting results are it was fantastic with how good the house traits and nice it was I am I personally that like my mum very straight so when I got the junkie I wasn't very happy of Howard Carter got all the clipping that it might… Read more

still up very well I could not find a better I have been looking for months and months for mowers and this has been the best time I have ever tried I've had tried a couple in my day but this has been the best I have ever had

With my John Deere mower it is light and compactor I have to put my John Deere mower on quarter highlights and will my old mowers hi mate I had to make a pulley system to get it up there and that cost alot but now I can just fold up the bars put on the shelf and walk away never had a problem with it with Compaq and it was move for round When I have to get it out of that shelf I just pick it up front fold up the bars and go sometimes I have to do it on the on two wheels and I used to struggle with turning it on it's side but now I'm it's just so easy I can't believe how easy it is so I think it was a very good removable mower

My John Deere mower Is a very good mower to maintain and operate when I first got my mother was a little bit worried about it because it looks pretty complicated but when I got the hang of it was really easy to maintain it it's pretty good I've only had to take to the shop one and I was because I put put the wrong petrol in I've always been able to use my own parts and not and I only go down to Mitre 10 for about once or twice to get something that I needed it even know you could prolly find some tutorials on YouTube of how to use it very carefully in always summary old say it was a best mum ever had thank you

Worst mower I have ever owned – I bought this self propelled mower because it was cheaper than the Honda competitor. I thought John Deere was a well regarded brand so what could go wrong? lots! First failure was the plastic fuel tank, it`s molded in two halves then bonded together well mine started leaking at two places along the seem a couple of years in. I refuse to reward… Read more

manufacturers for poor quality in design, materials or manufacturer so i didn`t buy a new tank just got this one plastic welded. Next failure was the front left wheel, it just fell off, where the stub axle is welded to the interconnecting bar, left wheel to right wheel, the weld at the factory was only a tack weld, the main weld never happened so it only lasted two or three years, out of warranty of course, well I did take it back to the dealer and plonked it on their counter and made some comment about quality control being non existant. I will give the dealer credit for repairing the fault at no charge, it was not their fault after all. i did get a sense of their embarrassment. The wheels have plastic trim on them which just presses onto the wheels, three wheels have lost theirs, of course they serve no useful purpose so i didn`t bother to fix that issue.

The cutter blade consists of one single full length piece of steel 528 mm long thus it only has two cutting edges, the engine has a factory set throttle setting, I am guessing now, 3000 rpm which means the quality of cut is way less than machines that have 4 cutting edges, Honda is a typical example, shoulda bought the Honda! The cut grass shute gets easily clogged so using the grass catcher is not a viable option. I have adjusted the throttle setting so it now runs much faster to improve the cut quality but am mindful that this will result in reduced engine life plus it is much noisier. I don`t care that the engine will die sooner I can then justify to my wife buying a Honda. The starter pull rope and the rewind starter mechanism in total is about the worst quality I have ever seen, save only what I saw on a really dreadful Chinese chainsaw. The mechanism is riveted to the engine cowl instead of being bolted, makes cord replacement just that more difficult, what a good idea that was, NOT!

There is a short piece of rubber hose taking crankcase gasses to the air filter housing to be fed into the engine, it`s a requirement for air quality to reduce air pollution, problem is my machine is on it`s third tube. They split right where the join on to the air filter housing, it`s always the same end. The last one cost me just over $10. Nice little earner for B&S. It is obviously not up to the task, poor design, poor materials. Because of the shape I can not substitute a piece of plastic tube as the sharp bend would result in a kink so effectively blocking flow of crank case gasses, so I have to buy their rotten part. This problem is repeated in other B&S motors that I have worked on for friends as well as a 13 hp ride on Cox Mower that I also own, So the problem is a generic one across all their family of motors? Now if the problem was just the annoyance of having to replace on a regular basis this inferior part that would be bad enough but it`s not, firstly this is a problem many operators would be unaware of unless they go looking for the problem, the motor will still run the same as it would with an intact tube, it just means that the leak is now allowing unfiltered air into the engine because where this tube joins the air filter is AFTER the filter element immediately before the the choke butterfly. Depending on the operating conditions this could seriously shorten the engine life.

A lot is made of how popular B&S motors are in machines, in some cases customers may have a choice of engine brand but this usually means at an additional price and there is the clue. Let`s face it many of us are price conscious, manufacturers know this, it`s all about market share, the average punter sees a nice shiny new machine in the shop and thinks what could be so different between motor brands? Well let me tell you folks,LOTS. Check out the reviews of discontented B&S powered machines and see for yourself.

JS63V is great – I am a lawn mowing contractor and bought this mower to save time and mulch lawn because of the lack of rain in the Toowoomba area. Have found three problems with mower 1 The attachment of handles to base although tight still have movement. 2 The mower will not mulch or cut long fine stem grass even though continually going over the same area. … Read more

Leaves the long stems on the ground which need to be raked up.Wasting time and effort.3 Non adjustable revs on motor so no ability to speed up mulching process. This mower is more suited to a home owner and not a commercial application. Mower has ease of starting, great width 21"cut,does mulch small grass lawns well and is able to cover ground in excellent time.
