Great camper for our needs – After taking this out a few times we have refined our techniques for setting up and have reduced that time and frustration significantly. Beats a tent any day. Great for two days or one week for the limited setup we have.

take care – I rented a camper-trailer from Johnnos in Canberra while my bro-in-law rented from Johnnos in Port Macquarie. The product from each was acceptable, but ours came with three of the zippers (including the main one) broken, had, or developed loose bearings which I had to repair in the bush, and, in comparison with the Port Macquarie one, had no gear, ie plates, cooking gear etc. The Canberra rental chap said it would be illegal for them to supply such gear unless it was new, clearly rubbish as all motorhome rental people supply such stuff. The insult was that they charged me $20 per day for taking it on "extreme conditions", ie the Birdsville and Serzleckie tracks which are good quality dirt roads, nothing extreme at all. The Port Macquarie rental didn't make such a charge. Finally, when we returned it and told the chap about the bearings, zippers and loose pin on the coupling, there was no response, no commiserations or comment at all.

They had ended up providing some gear such as a solar panel, led light bar, but had not told me they were going to do this, so I had gone to the trouble of getting stuff myself, proving to be unnecessary. Poor communication.

So, if you want a Johnnos camper, avoid the Canberra outlet if you can, and shop around

Customer service – I am looking to purchase a camper and Johnnos are on the short list of two (hard floor V's soft floor). I have visited the Newcastle showroom and also chatted to the staff and owners at a couple of camping shows. On each occasion they have been extreamly helpful, demonstrated practical knowledge and never pressurised me into a purchase. Quite the opposit in that they have advised me and my wife to consider our purchase carefully as it is a significant decision for our family needs.

I would absolutely recommend contacting them for a chat about a great quality product that may just meet your needs.

no refunds for faulty materials – We bought a pop up tent to take camping with us - put it up and it broke. Johnnos refused to give a refund and just referred it back to the manufacturer. We were travelling and needed the tent so had to purchase another elsewhere. Since this I have spoken to many people and others have also reported similar stories with this shop not giving refunds for faulty products. my advice dont shop here, i certainly wont. No refunds for faulty materials
