Karcher K 4.650

Working for nearly 10 years now – The only negative is the hose that constantly twists. Other than that, I've found this machine has done everything I ask of it. I've replaced the hose with a more supple one that makes all the difference. After nearly 10 years of ownership, I've also bought a small gun that takes quick fit nozles, a foam canon, extension pieces that came with multiple curved ends from 45 to 180 degree bends. expensive – Really sorry that I purchased this machine. It was the Top of the range that Bunnings had at the time it was nearly $500 The first time it broke down it was still under warranty but this time I have to pay and I've only used it a few times. I would never purchased a Karcher again Show details
In The Repair Shop more than on the job – Bought thus high dollar machine from Bunnings. Does the odd job of patio cleaning around the place. Pump started leaking just out if Warranty. $140 repair. With about 2 uses under its belt it decided to stop working. Back for a manifold replacement.$160 dollars. Buy something else. Show details

Great cleaning machine – Had the K4.650 for over 4 years, great machine, had no problems with operation, have used continuously cleaning cement driveways and patios for up yo 3 hours continuous use, good solid power and more than enough power for cleaning anything in the home. All the controls are easily used and operated, will be purchasing the patio cleaning head to speed up the work , would not hesitate to buy another cleaner of same brand if need be. Show details
Fantastic unit - Karcher K4.650 – I have used and used this unit for about 4 years - using at least once a month for extended periods (4 hours plus). It cleans mould, weeds from between bricks, cars, house walls, windows... you name it. It removes light rust from paving using the Blaster wand and hasn't missed a beat until just recently. The blaster wand stopped spinning so I soaked it in CLR for 30 minutes. Now its is like new. I',m a very happy customer. Show details
Works fantastic. Has not let me down and used it regularly for 3 years now – I am only writing this because I saw all the shocking reviews and felt I needed to at least pass on my experience. I had purchased cheap air cooled pressure cleaners in the past and they had not lasted too long before burnt out. That's why I decided on this model with the water cooled motor. For me its been superb. I use it to clean my car, the… Read more
paving, the patio roof and its done half my tiled roof (work in progress). One thing I am really careful to do is make sure its not running without water running through it. Sounds obvious but easily done. Anyway, I am happy and I would buy another. Perspective.
Negative reviews
Sadly a waste of money and bad reliability – I have owned this machine for 3 years and only used it about 5 times per year . It has only been used for domestic washing and cleaning the car . It now has no pressure at all , followed the troubleshooting guide and no luck. I am an aircraft engineer and look after my equipment and this washer is so disappointing . Very expensive and sadly will never recommend or purchase Karcher again. Show details
Better alternatives out there – Own my unit for just over 5 years now and it decided to die. It has been back to the service centre once within the 5 years I have owned it. While it good when it works there other cheap alternatives out there for half the price. For example I'm looking at a Ryobi unit with 2000psi with 4 years warranty for less than half the price I paid for… Read more
the Karcher. Makes you wonder why they are priced so high with nothing special about them but just the brand name. Don't think I will buy anything Karcher again.
ok, machine when it works, but for how long no one knows – I had this machine for 5 years then one day started pulsing, the pump needs to be fixed about $180. Only used i about 6 times a year, so. It hasnt done many hours of work, and for such an expensive item at over $500 it should last over 10 years. They should have done a recall on all karchers, they are not good value for money. I have a smaller… Read more
RYOBI that a little less powerful that cost $200 and has outlasted and been used 5 times more and its still going.

Garbage – Not much more to say. Nothing but breakdowns and visits to a repairer. Mine keeps leaking water out of the pump, so never builds up pressure, so the motor runs constantly. Then it overheats and the motor cuts out. It was good for a few months when it was new. But I'd expect for the price it would last 10 or more years of regular usage. I'm ditching Karcher and searching for something more reliable. Show details
Spends more time getting repaired tge working! – Owned tbe Karcher for nearly 2 yrs, it has spent more time at the repair centre then working! Pumped stopped twicethem started leaking continuously, Now for the 4th trip to the repair shop as it will not turn on! Unfortunately this brand is not what it use to be stay way from Show details
About to purchase a second one for another property – Have owned this unit for approx 5 years after having a bad run with petrol driven units. I cannot fault this machine, plug in power, water and go for it. Cleans every thing I need it to and have only had to replace the turbo nozzle due to the amount of use it has had. Brilliant machine. Karcher Junk – Yes, unfortunately, the same as the rest of the poor K4.650 owners. Leaking water from the pressure switch area. I should have known better as we had used industrial grade Karcher products at a company I had worked for and they were constantly breaking down as well. I have one of Karcher steam cleaner/vacuums and that is poor as well. I will… Read more
never purchase a Karcher product again and also tell others not to buy the brand as it looks nice but is very poorly designed.

SHONKY KARCHER – Same as all the other reviews , water pump leaking badly after only a couple of uses , out of warranty, thought Karcher was supposed to be a good brand, karcher should be ashamed for not recalling these , where is consumer protection? wish I had read these reviews before I sold my old pressure cleaner on Gumtree and bought this new one from Masters ! :( i'll never buy Karcher again Show details
Same as everyone else - expensive junk – Had to return unit on day 1 after purchase - light work since and now - after a few hours work the unit has the same crack in plastic head/manafold. I will never, purchase a Karcher waterblaster again. This is in fact the worst performing tool I have every owned - and I own a few. Show details
Should not have burned my money – First home owner / buyer purchased for the purpose of cleaning my house before painting and has droped in pressure by the time i got to the fourth side of home not impressed at all like the others should have reviewed this item before wasting my money and its out of warranty so rather waste any more time and moneys on repairs i will purchase another brand Show details
Total Crap – Bought this Brand New in Darwin, didn't use it till moved to Adelaide 12 months later, then got 3 uses out of till same problem as the others pressure down, revving up and down leaking out the bottom. Pulled it to bits and discover the problem which is with the moulding seam on the polycarbonate pump bottom splitting, an obvious design or… Read more
production fault but of course out of warranty etc. It should be recalled and replaced regardless seeings how common this problem is, you can't tell me Karcher doesn't know about it, rip off will never buy or recommend their products again and will put it on social media anytime I get the chance.
Waste of mney – Same as all the others water started leaking out took back to Bunnings told to take it down the road to the repair shop under warranty ,got repaired and used again a couple of times stopped working all together .would not buy again wish I had seen reviews first . Show details
VERY DISAPPOINTED! – What a rip off!!! two years and nothing but trouble, and have only used it a couple of times to clean the patio and drive way, which is a one and a half hour job When you buy the product no one want's to know about the problem as they know nothing about them as they have never used them, i knew more about it than the sales person from Bunnings and… Read more
now they say sorry your warranty has finished...very disappointed KARCHER!! Still looks new lot of good that is now. So ANGRY!!!! and FRUSTRATED being a pensioner.
Same as other reviews, it breaks easily – Only use it a couple of times a year but it broke. Bunnings sent me to Karcher. They took a month to fix it. Two years and 3 uses later its broken again. Same fault as everyone else - water leaking out of bottom and this makes the motor pulse wildly, as it loses pressure pumping the water out of somewhere it shouldn't inside!
Solid and reliable – I have had this unit for nearly 2 years now and it has not missed a beat. It is used regularly cleaning the cars approx every fortnight and patio 4 times a year and never had an issue. Hose is long, can walk around most of the car and makes life much easier. Wand is solid and hasn't cracked like my old Karcher. The constant stop-start is quite… Read more
strenuous on the pump whilst washing the car and it hasn't broken down yet. 3 more years on the warranty, I don't see what the others are complaining about, maybe Bunnings buy dodgy ones or something. Highly recommended.
"brand" doesn't mean much – Same as all those below (except the favourable one)..... few uses over a 3-4 year period and then gushed water out of the bottom when I really needed it to be working. I usually pay the price for the dependable brand, but am rethinking now. Cheap Chinese buy then replace when needed. Only upside of this experience was reading Mr G Cool's review (scroll down, it is worth the effort). At least that gave me a laugh.

Complete rubbish, Karcher should re-fund every purchase – used 3 times and started leaking and after warranty repair used 3 times again and same problem. JUNK!!!!!!! Purchased from Bunnings , my 99 dollar karcher i brought 10 years ago lasted 10years without a problem and used every week. Maybe buy a cheap one from Supercheap Auto and than instead paying the cost to fix just keep buying cheap ones.
Worked Once After Warranty Repair! – Disappointed as with other on here. Stopped working after 8 months, took it back 4 weeks later used it once and the second time turned it on and nothing (no noise no pressure). This machine is less than 12 months old. Purchased from Bunnings so it will be going back again!
Absolute Rubbish – I have wasted my money on this piece of crap, it's been repaired under warranty twice, and now is leaking profusely AGAIN. I will never by a Karcher product again. Crap!
Overpriced garbage – Same issues as others. I bought this unit a few years ago. Not long after it started doing the cycling thing when you aren't using actually spraying ie on,off,on, off and was leaking. I had lost the receipt so couldn't take it back. It now leaks so bad I cant use it. Pressure has dropped. Also had issues with the detergent not coming out… Read more
(and isn't the genuine stuff you have to use or you void your warrant horribly expensive!. All in All, if this was a $100 unit I wouldn't be so mad, but these things are very expensive!.
I pulled the whole thing apart today, put plumbers tape on any joins. Still leaks like a sieve. Sounds like it must be the head issue as well. Will try pulling it apart gain later...or throw it in the bin..
So I determined that it was the manifold cover that had a split in the seam. not visible when you… Read more
Karcher K4.650 – bought this model from Karcher & deemed recommended for our purpose (general domestic etc) perhaps 4-5yrs ago & used less less than 8 times. Today after 20minutes use it lost pressure & was leaking badly @ the base.....same prob as fellow Product Reviewers!! We always aim for 'quality' products & expect to pay more accordingly (this was about $7… Read more

Water leaks – Water leaks out of pressure switch. Seems to be a common fault. BAD DESIGN. The metal plate that pushes on top of switch doesn't seem to hold it down. Will modify to work & change o-ring again.
Disappointing – Have had my machine for a couple of years now with very little use. Now when I need it, the motor is constantly switching on when water is not being used - water pressure seems to be down. Almost unusable. Have got it in bits at the moment but nothing to see.
Really disappointing – I had a baby Karcher for 8 years, used it to clean up houses after the Brisbane floods and it never missed a beat. When it finally died I bought a small Karcher for $240 that lasted for about 1 month (home use only) took it back and paid extra for a K4.650. 5 Year warranty so it had to be better. Wrong, just more money ($600+) for the same junk. … Read more
It's been used for a total of about 2.5 hours (cleaned driveway and back patio twice, and now it leaks. I can get it fixed under warranty, but I expected better. Karcher have obviously forgotten that a good reputation is hard to get and easy to lose. Buy a cheap Chinese pressure sprayer and throw it way when it breaks out of warranty. It'll probably be better quality for a lot less money.
not good so far – have the same problem with water coming out of the bottom , machine is only 10 mths old , have stripped the machine completely down to having the motor out , noticed water coming out of the plastic tubes that feed from the head , took this part out and cleaned the area [ couple of o rings are used for sealing ] blew out with air hose re- assembled… Read more
attached hose full on , no leak , thought problem fixed , re- assembled the machine connected water , no leak , turned machine on with power[ under pressure] damm thing leaks still , should have tested it when it was all apart and under pressure ,am guessing the plastic tubes that feed from the head have a pin hole in them that does not show up untill under pressure , will have to strip the whole bloody unit again and test under pressure . will post again if i find the problem , they are not that hard to pull apart just a bit of time if you have the tools , cheers
have fixed this machine today , bought a new head and manifold total cost from all tools $114 , a… Read more
This cleaner is pure rubbish – Rubbish starts with the Karcher description - pure fantasy! No reason for an expensive item to rubbish up after a few domestic uses only - pure rubbish. Read the reviews - so many dissatisfied users cannot be wrong! Look for alternatives instead.
Brilliant Machine – Bought this machine several months ago. My husband's previous machine was a Karcher without wheels and it became a pain to lug around. Even after reading the bad reviews, right or wrong, hub still wanted this Karcher. So far, so good. It is used almost every week-end and we have encountered no problems thus far. Very happy with the purchase Show reply
Really bummed out man – I purchased the karcher k4-650 ,the Bunning's man said it was the bees knees man, so going on the advice of the well trained assistant I bought it . got home read the manual got it up and running ,oh yeah it was the bees knees for about 15 minutes, then the bees knees fell off and water was coming out off the bottom, motor was pulsing sheet had me… Read more
bad riff on my hands, took that bad sucker back to billy Bunning's ,then they laced some hard cutting jive on me saying it has no warranty cause it was on special. Needless to say I clipped that mother up side the head like a meow the manager gave me the next model up and said, hit the road fool. And don't cha come back no more to my store
Unreliable – Paid extra to get this one due to the 5 year warranty. After light use it died within one year, and needed a new control head. Less than 10 months later and same problem. I asked if they are fitting revised parts as I don't want to keep coming back, yes they say. First use and it starts leaking again. Going back for refund and off to get a Stihl brand one keeps breaking down
