Karcher K7

Recently purchased a K7 Compact pressure washer. My previous pressure washer was a Gerni "Compact" that expired after 20 plus years of good service together with an occasional repair. After using the K7 for the first time on a concrete block wall, I had some reservations when I compared its performance to the Gerni. Initially, I noted that one of… Read more · 1
the delivery wands did not have the impact I was expecting. The "blade" of the water was wider than the Gerni but appeared to have less grunt. However, I found the wider blade of water was more effective when adopting a slower pass. The result is the K7 is actually quicker than the Gerni. To my surprise, the other wand supplied was ruthless in its destruction of grime, dirt, discolouration and removal of lichens etc. It was so effective in fact that the wall top coping (which is a softer concrete compared to the face) had a layer of concrete blasted away. So, I reverted to using the wider blade for the coping and the "swirling" blade for the face. I have to say, that I was delighted in the end with its performance and effectiveness. The true test will be how long (in terms of years), it will perform. I remain hopeful it will endure many years of hassle free performance. Highly recommended with an A+++
Purchased today to use THIS WEEKEND. Connected following instructions. Air comming out of gun with water does not stop no matter what is tried. Sucking air from somewhere. I don't care from where. Returning for refund Monday morning. Lucky I didn't buy the more complex version of this junk isn't it.... Show details
This is the 3rd Karcher we have owned and it is not the best. The pressure washing is very good but the hose and hose storage are a pain in the butt. The hose is very inflexible and I spend most of the time fighting with the hose that continually twists into knots. More frustrating time is spent at the end of the cleaning job fighting to wind the… Read more
hose back onto it's storage holder which is far too small for the amount of hose. Now that I have used and fought with this K7 Compact several times, I would not recommend purchasing one unless you have plenty of time and patience.

Awful product. Had the old Karcher 7.85 which was better built, more powerful and had a hose reel. This Karcher is a pain to use and the hose is made of cheap material that kinks. Lost faith in karcher. Show details

More satisfying than PowerWash Simulator on Xbox – I was sent this machine via the Product Review Ambassador program - this review is my own and unedited by either Product Review or Karcher. I have never had a pressure washer before, so this was a new experience. First, I was surprised at how big the box was - not huge, but quite large. I had to put the back seat down in my Yaris Cross to get it… Read more · 1
in. It was well packaged, but a lot of packaging was Styrofoam and the like. While I understand it is to keep the machine safe, I would have appreciated recyclable materials (the Styrofoam was a PITA to break down and bin).
Once out of the box, the set up was amazing. I downloaded the app as per the flyer in the box and it guided me through EVERYTHING (nearly). Like, what each part is, how to connect the parts, when to turn it on, how to pair it, when to attach the hose, etc. For a first-time user, this was so much more valuable and user-friendly than the manual . The app also guides you through what tools, settings, modes, etc., to use to get the best results on different surfaces. But that is where the usefulness of the app ends, more on that later.
This machine comes with one tool which has three settings, one “blade” setting, one “dirt blaster” setting, and one “mix” setting (to mix chemicals and water). The blade setting is what I used most of the time as it is the most versatile; however, the dirt blaster was amazing for bricks and concrete, stripping 20 years of dirt, grime, moss, and mouse blood (thanks 2021 mouse plague and cat who mouses for fun) from the concrete in our driveway.
The dirt blaster setting is ultra-aggressive and seems to be best used for only ultra-sturdy surfaces such as brick and concrete. The app does recommend this, but I mean, I was excited to get hands-on with this machine and didn’t read that far. I did a little damage to some already damaged woodwork and stripped some paint off it (totally my fault).
We had a concrete area near our water heater that was covered in moss, almost black. After 15 minutes of cleaning, I was legitimately surprised that it was a very light grey. I have never seen it that clean.
The thing that I can’t emphasise enough is how satisfying this machine is to use. It’s like painting “clean” onto your surfaces.
The option to pop a Karcher soap container on top and have it automatically mix and dispense the soap is magic. I have used a car cleaner, window cleaner and general cleaner (all Karcher branded chemicals) with amazing results.
This machine isn’t perfect though… back to that app. This machine is Bluetooth enabled. It is supposed to tell you how much water you have used vs how much you have saved if you had used a hose instead. This has never worked. Even after a replacement handle. Karcher CS are freaking lovely, but couldn’t assist me further with this - this disappointed me a little.
Then the leaks. I had a small leak between the gun handle and the nozzle. I had another leak from the nozzle (when the mix mode was selected, it would leak through the blade mode, this was noticeable if using it at an upwards angle as you’d get wet from the dribble coming out of the nozzle). Karcher CS replaced both parts (it did take 3 weeks to get replacement parts after being told they weren’t in stock, but then they miraculously were sent). The replacement gun handle solved the leak between the tools, but the second nozzle still had the dribble when being used in mix mode. Karcher did offer to replace the whole unit but after this going on for a month and a half, honestly, I couldn’t have been bothered to pack it up and organise couriers etc. Karcher have assured me this will be covered under the 7-year warranty should difficulties arise.
That being said, this wouldn’t stop me from purchasing, but I would be more likely to purchase from Karcher direct via one of their stores (if close) or another retailer so I could take it directly back should issues arise.
Three minor annoyances, I wish the cord was longer, and I wish the hose had a swivel on it. I have a heavy-duty extension cord permanently attached to it, and have purchased an anti-twist adaptor (2.644-2570.0), but really would have expected this to be standard for a high-end machine. Also, once the gun handle and nozzle are connected, there is nowhere to store them if you want to stop for a moment, I wish the machine had a clip to the side to hold them. You can store them on the machine when not connected to each other, but not when assembled.
With these cons, I would still recommend this machine (but additional attachments will make your experience so much better).
Had issues but Karcher and Bunnings were excellent – We had issues with the one we purchased, both Karcher and Bunnings were excellent to deal with. Thank you. Show details · 1

It’s The Goods – I’ll start by saying that the Karcher K7 Compact pressure washer is The Goods. I’m sure that if you wanted something more powerful it would have to be a commercial machine. This is clearly top of the range for domestic use. Everything in the box was easy to understand and click together. The K7 Compact is surprisingly heavy, but it has wheels and… Read more · 1
a telescopic handle so it can be rolled around easily like carry-on luggage. Water is precious out here in regional Queensland. We are on tank water only so I was a bit concerned about the volume of water the pressure washer would use. There was no need to worry though. I got thick, sun-baked on mud off the 4x4 without too much trouble - we switched the regular wand to the eco! booster 180 to very effectively “wipe” the stubborn bits off the mud flaps. The trailer looks good as new. The Karcher K7 Compact didn’t use much water to give a big result. I’m very impressed. The trigger part is light and easy to use. Just point and go. You can really feel the water pressure in the handle as you use it, but it’s easy enough for small hands to manoeuvre. The Karcher K7 Compact pressure washer can also be fed water from a bucket which is awesome because I was able to pull apart and clean out the house water filtration system properly. Normally that is just a something we can only tap to clean the bulk off since the water has to be turned off to take the filter apart. Now we just put the other end of the hose in a bucket of water and it takes literal seconds to rinse the filter. This was the most exciting part for me. Cleaning will increase the life of the water filters, so the Karcher is also saving me money. I’m really happy to have received this little pocket rocket through the Ambassador Program. I wouldn’t have known about the K7 Compact pressure washer otherwise and I definitely need it. I’ve used a Karcher pressure washer a few years back, but this is an entirely different machine. The difference in the water pressure is phenomenal - especially with the eco! Booster 180 accessory to just peel dirt off. I’m definitely keen to get a couple of the accessories available on the Karcher website if they fit the K7. I’ve got my eye on the right angle wand so I can do the gutters and water catchment without a ladder. There was a list of jobs I just haven’t been able to do around our home that I’ve now marked off in a single afternoon with the Karcher K7 Compact pressure washer. I’ve made quick work of the 4x4 and trailer, the water filtration system, and cleaned the windows without having to get up a ladder. I’m stoked. Highly recommend if you’re into getting things done without having to hire equipment or get a labourer.
Compact with impressive performance – I've used pressure cleaners for 30 years, mostly a green coloured brand, the Karcher K7 proves not all pressure washers are created equal. The first thing you notice is the weight of the K7 Compact. You could be forgiven for thinking Compact meant light on power or performance but this isn't the case here. Every aspect of the K7 Compact, from… Read more · 1
its long, heavy duty hose with industrial fittings thought to its solid body construction indicates it ready for business.
It's performance, pressure and range of accessories out of the box cover all the cleaning requirements on our farm. From blasting off mold build up off the southern side of the shed, a more gentle wash down of our John Deere 5105 tractor thought to the walkways and steps to the farm house, this thing hits the mark.
The only criticism, if it is one, it's weight. It stacks in about 15kg. If I've learnt one thing owning farm equipment and machinery, weight is usually a good indication of quality.
You can see by my photos, it gets a workout. It's now a permanent fixture in our service ute.
Need a serious pressure cleaner, I couldn't recommend the Karcher K7 Compact high enough.
Absolute Beast of a Pressure Washer – Absolute beast of a machine. When we unboxed her I couldn’t believe how big she was compared to the old Karcher we used years ago (can’t even remember the model number). easy and neatly which I found a good upgrade from my old one. Once we had it set up we played around with the Bluetooth settings but couldn’t get it to sync, might be because our home wifi was weak and we were outside, I’m not sure but will play again later. The nozzle has three different settings, one of which is the circle one I am used to from older model, works amazing! There is a softer setting which must be a rinse setting, and then also a straight setting which hits horizontal or vertical depending how you hold the nozzle. We also got the eco booster 180 attachment which worked super well. I have to say that the size of the Karcher is actually a plus when doing large areas and you need to keep pulling more hose out. It’s heavy enough that you won’t tip the machine over which was a problem with my older smaller model. We managed to do a section of the driveway in minutes that would have taken half an hour on an older model. Absolutely blown away at how good this pressure washer is. I haven’t stopped by telling all my friends and family about it. Would 10/10 recommend and you’ll be everyone’s favourite friend when they can borrow your awesome pressure washer!

A Polished Highly Capable Pressure Washer Well Worth the Premium – This Karcher was a sent as a gift but with no conditions attached except for a review of my experiences, which I provide you below: As I unboxed and used it the question kept playing through my mind whether I would pay for one if this ever got stolen. garden hose ostensibly does the same job. It too delivers water onto a surface at a user selectable range of pressures. The box was huge and heavy. It came as no surprise that the washer inside was the same. My last washer which I lost it when I left it on the nature strip overnight, was less than a quarter as big. Unboxing and assembling everything was straightforward. The owner’s manual describes all this in hieroglyphics and artwork not dissimilar to ancient cave drawings. This is common with many European products. Thankfully, it wasn’t needed.
Making the Bluetooth connection was slightly less straightforward. I persisted until it established a link and the app on my phone recognised the device. I am not sure this is necessary, but it was a feature and being a tech-nerd; I had to use it. Later, while operating the machine, I tried to use the app again, but the Bluetooth connection had been lost and I didn’t have a patience to reestablish it. Because there is really nothing that the app can do that the controls on the device can’t, I didn’t persist. Many good products are let down by non-robust wireless connections. I understand that Marketing love to add “Smart” to their brand messages. If that’s the case, companies need to make a better effort. Anyway, I have spent way more words on what is in the scheme of things a non- issue. The machine otherwise works flawlessly. It felt extremely well built and delivered continuous water pressure for a solid two hours.
In that time, I cleaned my entire driveway, the footpath and the crossover and my daughter’s extremely sparingly washed car.
The so called smart spray gun has a comfortable handle with a trigger that fits well into the hand. The onboard water hose that leads from the main unit uses a universal hose connector and a button operated detent to click into place. It all feels very solid. A large readable screen displays water flow settings and the flow type.
The detachable main wand, or to put into the correct Karcher terminology, the 3-in-1 Multi Jet spray lance, has three settings. Translated from hieroglyphics and Marketing Speak they are Soap, General-Purpose and Paint-Stripper. These settings are selected by turning the lower part of the lance. This is obviously connected to the brains of the unit because this setting shows up on the screen. For all but the Soap setting, the user can adjust the water flow in 6 steps plus a 30 second boost.
I started on the driveway using the most extreme setting, but soon turned it down when I saw the top surface being eroded. Set on General-Purpose, it cleaned a layer of dirt and algae and left the surface like new. Part of the footpath was covered in mud and crushed rock. I turned on Paint-Stripper mode and blasted this away revealing a raw grey concrete. I tried it on weeds. It obliterated them. Then I turned it on a section of the driveway covered in Lilydale Topping. It cleared everything on the surface, acting much like a strong leaf blower. I was on a roll. I tried it on a weathered railway sleeper. It cleared away the oxidation and left raw wood. I was impressed. This mode is seriously powerful.
Then I saw how little water I had used. I realised just how efficient this machine is. This is where it blows a garden hose out of the water (no pun intended).
Next day my partner asked me to clean some garden furniture so she could apply a fresh coat of paint. Set on the most aggressive setting, it made quick work of layers of old paint. Within minutes, the ornate cast iron furniture had a solid surface ready to paint.
Over the next two weeks I used it to clean everything from our cars, to our windows, our brick walls and our garbage bins. My partner is very happy with me. The house has not looked this fresh in ages.
So in summary it is an easy to use, machine, that is ready to use with a few simple steps. Wheel it to where you need to use it. Connect the garden hose. Use an extension lead to connect electric power. Click the required wand into place. Press the wand lever to evacuate trapped air. Turn on the power. Aim it where you need cleaning done. Like the ad says. Simples!
So what are some downsides? Where can it be improved? Well, it is bulky. It is a big and heavy machine that needs the wheels it’s got. Occasionally, it did tempt me to just use the garden hose. Each time I was glad I didn’t. I saved water and my job was cleaner. One downside is how the machine’s water hose is stowed. It uses a rotating drum that needs to be cranked by hand. The hose is quite stiff and takes a set shape which gets tangled. So one needs to unwind it a second time after one unwinds it from the drum. Also, the drum needs a bigger flange to contain the hose otherwise sometimes it wants to get trapped between the drum and body of the machine. The overall machine, the handle, the wheels and even the drum seem very robust but a few plastic pieces on the machine are a little flimsy. So you can’t be too rough with the machine.
I need to put my comments into perspective. The downsides mentioned are more nitpicking than real issues. The overwhelming feeling I have after using the machine is of quality, robustness and efficiency. This is a class act.
Coming back to the question I had asked myself. Yes, I’d definitely buy another Karcher K7. I do believe in the saying, that quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten. This product falls in that category of devices where paying a bit more is worth it.

Good quality, mediocre cleaning – Karcher provided me this washer and a bluetooth smart control handle in exchange for writing honest reviews of both items. I've had it for about a month and have used it to wash a few vehicles. I therefore can't comment on long term durability, but I will update this review if anything major changes over time. Positives: -three spray settings on… Read more
the wand were cool -slowly amping up water pressure each time you pull the trigger was nice -it did a reasonable job of cleaning a dusty motorcycle albeit not perfect -excellent phone support and long warranty is a nice touch -you can order spare parts for yourself off the karcher website too -the general build quality seems solid - it's a heavy machine, the fit and finish is good, most of the fittings and buttons are of high quality
Negatives: -excessively difficult and fiddly to setup. I'm reasonably handy but it took me a couple of hours, a phone call to customer service, two trips to the hardware store, troubleshooting an app, etc before I could use this device as intended/advertised. -the high pressure hose: OMG. It gets a memory, coils, kinks, is difficult to coil back onto its reel... this component is a major time sink -why doesn't this machine come with detergent out of the box? -for that matter, why does it need proprietary detergent bottles? Just put a refillable tank on there please. -The plastic water inlet hose fitting was sad and I replaced it with a quality metal piece from the hardware store -why on earth does a pressure washer need an app? -photo of kinked hose attached to this review - I gave up trying to reel it back correctly after 5-10 minutes of faffing around with it
Comments: -did the designers actually use this in anger? -I struggle to reconcile why a pressure washer would need an app
Specific usage scenarios: -First use - dusty road motorcycle. Time taken 2 hours - mostly in setup, troubleshooting, instruction manuals, and fighting with the high pressure hose. It did a 6/10 job cleaning. -It effectively cleared dust off broad surfaces, but you are hindered when cleaning around, say, a motorcycle engine, because you cannot force high pressure water into seals, wiring, and sensors. So, dirt remains in all the nooks and crannies. -Also, unbeknownst to me, karcher sells two very similar proprietary shampoo bottles for their products, but only one has the nipple in the lid to fit into this machine. So learn from my mistake when you make a trip to the hardware store and choose carefully. -As a result I hand washed the motorcycle with a sponge and bucket and the karcher was only providing a hi pressure rinse. -before/after photos attached to this review
Second use - lightly dirty car. time taken start to finish 45 minutes and 3/10 job cleaning. -The car was a hatchback with just some tailgate soiling from driving rainy roads and various bug poos from parking in a city office carpark. -I want to emphasise that this was not a very dirty car to begin with -Karcher failed to remove bug poos -Karcher failed to remove grime on tailgate and behind front wheels -these poos and soiling could be removed with the pad of your finger, by the way -The (pic attached) genuine karcher shampoo seemed ineffective -after photos attached to this review - see all the bug poos and grime still stuck to the paint
Overall -if you're weighing up investing $1000 and hours of setup plus, say, 10 minutes of setup and packdown each use, plus any extra accessories you might need... consider that's years worth of visits to the coinop carwash -my local DIY coinop carwash produces a better result. This pressure washer gives results roughly similar to a drive thru touchless wash. -This machine may be convenient for, say, rural residents or someone leaving this tool in situ at something with higher frequency usage -Over time, I will try some different detergents to see if I can produce better results. Hopefully we can see an improvement, however, I will have to invent some way to try other detergents in the karcher proprietary bottles. I think that a decent pressure washer should at least be able to match the cleaning capability of a coinop carwash and be able to clean bug poos and dust off an average car.

Small but mighty unit – So this is the first pressure washer I’ve ever used, so I had to spend a bit of time (more than most, perhaps?) reading the user manual. Maybe it was just me, but it wasn’t as clear as it probably could have been - but in the end I did find all the information I needed. Opening the box and setting the unit up was very easy. bit heavy (as expected) so whilst I was able to do it alone, some people may require assistance (and the outer carton indicates that the unit is 16.1-35kg, so consideration should be given to obtaining the assistance of another individual or a mechanical aid when lifting the unit).
The wheels on the unit are quite large, and the height-adjustable telescopic handle (once installed) is easy to hold, so manoeuvring the unit is quite easy. Attaching the hoses and getting ready to use the unit doesn’t take long at all - even for a newby like me. It was pretty much ‘plug and play’. Which was good because I was really looking forward to using it.
As I was wanting to clean the moss and grime on the concrete slab under the carport, I used the spray lance with dirt blaster first. That did not disappoint (and I never knew using a pressure washer could be so fun!!).
I attempted to attach a photo of that first session (mid way) showing the spiral pattern the lance (sprayer) uses to lift the grime. It’s fascinating to watch it in action (or is that just me?). There was some small vibration as I was holding the gun part, but that was to be expected, and not uncomfortable or difficult to manage.
I tried to use the Vario Power spray lance also, to see if that had the same result, but it did not lift as much of the grime as the dirt blaster. So I continued with the dirt blaster for this task. Alas, just nearby, I had some actual moss that I inadvertently sprayed and it just caused the moss and the soil under it to explode in the direction I was spraying. Whoops! (It lead to mud and moss being splattered on the fence!) Note to self - prepare the work area better before I start!)
Next, my car needed a wash. I’m not a big fan of chores like this, so it’s usually months between washes for my car, and this time was no exception. So I vacuumed the inside first, then set up the pressure washer, this time leaving the dirt blaster lance alone (don’t want to damage the paint!) and used the Vario Power spray lance. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has a really good variance between the soft / slow spray and the hard / fast spray. And it’s really easy to adjust it one way or the other (or anywhere in between). Now let me clarify here: before this, I’ve only ever used a garden hose for this job. And I never knew what I was missing! The Vario Power spray lance was able to remove a layer of pollen which seems to be stuck to my car each spring. I’d noticed that even before I applied the shampoo. Wow!
What had amazed me most though, was the water left on the grass near the car when I’d finished. When I have previously washed my car with just the garden hose, I’d be left with a large puddle on one side (the land is slightly sloped in that area), because of the volume of water used. Yet using this pressure washer has achieved a much better clean, with significantly less water. And, because the initial rinse had removed the surface layer of pollen and dust, the bucket of suds was also less dirty than usual too. I knew then, why so many people in my life now only wash their cars with their pressure washer. It reduces the effort, it saves water, and almost (almost!) makes this chore hating person want to clean the car again next weekend.
And whilst rain has been abundant in my area in recent years, I know that won’t necessarily continue, so my water consumption (and conservation opportunities) are always on my mind. So this, to me, is absolutely worth the investment. I kinda wish I learned this lesson a bit sooner now. But, better late than never.
Packing down and putting away the unit is easy. The ability to wrap the hose around the front panel on the unit, and tie it down with the included band makes it so easy to store, even in smaller spaces. And the ability to keep the spray lances on board, to keep everything together means I won’t be looking for them the next time I go to use it. But the thing about its ability to be packed down for storage is a conundrum for me, because I don’t want to store it yet, I want to keep it out so I can use it again!
There’s plenty of statistics already available online, so I won’t repeat them here. But will finish with this: this pressure washer surpassed my expectations with ease of use, maneuverability, water consumption (or lack of), and travel and storage convenience.

We had a few problems areas around the house that were way outside the scope of the garden hose with a pressure nozzle, broom and cleaning products. These areas were mainly the driveway and outdoor living area which consists of white porous tiles and cement grout.
Firstly the driveway, we have a large area where a hedge borders the driveway. The hedge leaves a black stain similar to mould. Using the hose, broom and products, this area I wasn't able to get this cleaned. Enter the Karcher K7 Compact. For this first run over I used the Eco-Booster header which can be viewed within this review in the attached video. I used the EcoBooster as the driveway has a painted surface. It was literally a no brainer for the Karcher K7 and the black mould basically wiped away in seconds. I then continued onto the very discoloured concrete section towards the end of our driveway and again, it was stripped away with the Karcher K7. Again, I used the Eco-Booster attachment before trying the two higher pressure included attachments with the K7. Once dried, I realised I didn't need to use the higher pressure nozzle as the driveway was spotless.
My next test for the Karcher K7 was out outdoor entertaining area with porous white outdoor tiles. This outdoor area is covered with a roof, but exposed to 3 sides which allows a decent amount of dirt to settle. In the past I have used a combination of detergents, hard bristle broom and high pressure hose. This generally cleans the area but I had never been able to remove the deeper stains or clean the grout properly. I have attached a video of the Karcher K7 and after shot of the cleaning once the grout had dried. The Karcher K7 made short work of this task and I would say I cleaned the outside area in a quarter of the time compared to using the broom, hose and cleaners. The one very important note here, the grout lines were back to how the house was when it was brand new. I would say this would be at least 95% of the job. There a few areas where the grout has been broken away over the years of use and some deep dirt and mould have settled in deep and I was unable to get those deeper stains out. This was used with water and pressure only, no cleaners were used in my testing.
Given these two tests, I would have no issue recommending the Karcher K7 Compact. Very Compact Unit that can be stored in a small space. Very good pressure and cleaning for a small unit. Simple setup, up and running within minutes. Easy to move around with the extension handle and wheels.
Things to consider. Unit is quite heavy, lifting and carrying around would suit the youngsters, not the elderly (wheels and handle, totally fine to wheel around) Hose was a bit painful and got tangled a few times. I solved this by fully unwinding the hose then using. When trying to use and allowing the hose to unfold itself it caused a few issues.
Overall, the Karcher K7 for us had been a great little unit to use, so much pressure and such a time saver cleaning the outdoor spaces around the house.

Just what I needed ! – The K7 is one almighty pressure washer. Its rugged and chunky. The unboxing and assembly were easy and the instructions were good enough to have the unit setup and then connected to my phone and ready to go in about 15-20 minutes. have cleaned the side of my shed, cleaned a filthy pathway and part cleaned my Colourbond fence. (see attached photos before and after).
****Things that are great****
Compared to other pressure washers I have used; this one has it all: - Everything clicks together so easily and comes apart just as easy BUT with a very strong and secure connection. On old pressure washers that I've used, I have struggled to get lances/sprayers on and off. - Adjustable Pressure (with Boost Mode), from very soft to very hard and all in between (this is a REAL plus) - The multi jet spray lance that comes with the K7 is versatile and covers a lot of differing job requirements. It has 3 functions that are accessed by rotating the multijet spray lance : Flat Jet nozzle, Dirt Grinder and Detergent nozzle. I used the flat jet nozzle (green algae and dirt) and the dirt grinder (for stubborn dirt/stains) to complete my pathway. - Very substantial hose length. Plenty of hose to cover most jobs without having to move the unit. - good hose management system. (you 'wind' the hose onto a spool that forms part of the unit) - The K7 has a few compartments that store some attachments. It certainly stores all the items that come with the K7, plus I was able to also fit in the eco!Booster 180 (an additional accessory that can be purchased which I have reviewed separately) - adjustable/extendable transport handle (like a travel suitcase). The K7 unit is large and heavy, so this extendable handle helps move the K7 around without any problems.
****Things that could be better****
- There is nowhere to store the electrical cord efficiently. - The instructions could be better, although they become easier to understand, once you know how the machine works. - Holding the spray gun gets a bit heavy on your forearms over time. - The 'smart' phone connect uses for the K7 seem more like a gimmick as I have found you don't need to connect to have all functions of the K7 available.
****OVERALL****
This is by far the best pressure washer I have ever used. For me the adjustable pressure and the extra-long hose are my most favoured features that the K7 offers. The multi jet spray lance is also a winner. I recommend this product because of ease of use and its versatile features. Plus most importantly, it gets all your pressure cleaning jobs done without any hassles.

One of my favourite features is the extendable handle, which makes manoeuvring this hefty machine much easier. Due to its weight, it remains stable during use, and the cleverly designed hose reel rolls out smoothly. The generous hose length allowed me to clean our large patio and even reach around to the side of the house without constantly moving the machine. The detergent system could not be easier, you simply invert the bottle and place it onto the top of the machine.
The spray gun is impressive, delivering a powerful stream of water that cleans large areas quickly. It comes with three nozzles for easy switching between tasks. While I found the spray gun a bit heavy and needed both hands to operate it comfortably, the LCD display makes adjusting pressure and detergent levels effortless.
The boost mode is a game changer for tackling stubborn mould spots around our high-humidity home. After using this pressure washer, everything looks brand new—from walls to driveways. We cleaned our entire patio, pool area, pathways, and even our shed in just a few hours—saving us most of our weekend!
Pros: *Sturdy design prevents tipping. *Generous hose length minimizes repositioning. *Extendable handle for easy transport. *Quick assembly with clear app instructions. *Powerful cleaning with a useful boost mode. *Versatile spray gun with multiple nozzles. *Easy-to-use detergent system.
Cons: *The machine's weight makes transport challenging if you want to take it to other places. *The spray gun can be a little heavy for extended use.
Overall, I highly recommend the Kärcher K7 Premium Smart Control Pressure Washer for anyone looking to make their outdoor cleaning tasks faster and more effective!
Great unit – The K7 unit has proved to be a great pressure washer unit. It's been great for washing our very grubby driveway - oil, plant stains, dirt, etc. I also used the unit to clean my car and it proved to be very useful as it did not damage the paintwork. It's very powerful and secure, with no leakages from the attachments. It's been a lot easier to use… Read more · 2
than previous pressure washers I've had. There's a few other jobs I wish to use it on (house external walls, fence gate and porch and will provide updates when I've finished these jobs. Overall an excellent unit.

WOW.Amazing machine – Full disclosure. I was sent the machine to test and review however I have not modified my honest opinion to produce this review. I've never set up a pressure washer before so it took just over 10 minutes to work out how everything goes together out of the box. It does come with instructions but I had trouble working out which way around the… Read more · 1
pressure hose installs. The images aren't very clear on this one point. It comes with everything you need to start using the appliance however I have Hoselink watering equipment at my home. It's a VERY simple matter to fit the hoselink fitting to the machine and you're all set. (You'll need a hoselink tap fitting with the "small tap" adapter fitted.) It comes with a wand which is adjustable from soft to hard pressure. Soft pressure is REALLY soft, it would water the garden but not much else. It's infinitely adjustable but on full hard pressure it will clean your concrete paths. The second included wand is high pressure. It blasted 12 years of dirt and weathering from my patterned concrete without damaging the concrete. It also removed the weeds from the expansion joints and cracks. It doesn't require strength or patience to do. It took around 15 minutes to do about 10 square metres. I highly recommend this pressure washer. It's certainly not a cheap alternative but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
I also suggest you consider the extra cost of the ecoboost wand. It works almost like the high pressure wand but apparently uses less water. I have no way of verifying the water saving but it certainly appeared to be using a more concentrated output which should therefore use less water. It's not vital to the operation of the pressure washer but if it saves water it saves money. I have a review elsewhere on product review.
A sure winner! – I have used other pressure washers in the past, but the Karcher K7 really kicks a punch for such a compact unit. Heavily sturdy yet easy to wheel around, this unit is easy to hook up to the power and water outlets, with a long enough hose attachment to make it all the way around a car. Cutting car washing time in more than half, without any need… Read more · 1
for elbow grease was amazing! You can see years of built up dirt on hubcaps wash off in seconds returning them back to their former gleaming glory! As for window cleaning, it was a breeze washing away cobwebs & grime. The only gripe I have is that there doesn't appear to be enough space to be able to wrap the hose and power cords around anything to keep the unit neat and tidy when not in use, but this is a small niggle. Otherwise, the unit is a sure winner in the cleaning stakes!
Perfect balance of size and power – We needed a pressure washer for around our home but we were put off by the size of some of them. The Karcher K7 Compact is perfect - powerful but easy to store or throw in the car. One of the things I love most about this beast is that it is solid with a simple on/off dial rather than electronics that could potentially fail. The quality is top… Read more · 1
notch, as you would expect from something engineered in Germany.
The instruction manual is a little lacking but there are loads of videos online which I would recommend watching before you start. Assembly is simple, just push in the extendable handle, attach the pressure gun, screw on the hose nozzle and click the anti-twist hosing into the machine. The unit sucks water in through a standard garden hose or you can buy an attachment to suck out of a bucket. It has a built-in inlet hose that you can pull out and put in a container of detergent. It will suck the solution up and mix it with water.
Before you start pressure washing you are advised to run some water through the gun with no high pressure attachments. This lets you get rid of any air and primes the machine. You are also supposed to vent the machine after use by turning off the hose and letting water run through the hand gun.
The unit comes with two wands or “lances”. One is a dirt buster which lives up to its name. It is a very concentrated, high powered jet which blasts dirt out of paving or brick walls. Avoid using this on delicate surfaces.
The other attachment is a vario pressure lance. You can adjust the pressure from very low to high. This makes it very versatile on pretty much any surface.
If you are keen to buy extra attachments I can highly recommend the eco!Booster 180.
Performance of this little unit is great. I was able to blast away a 30 year build up of dirt on our bricks in seconds. I’ve also used it on my car, outdoor furniture, garage door and pergola.
The unit packs up neatly for storage after use and would be brilliant for a car detailer to throw in the back of the van. It is reasonably heavy to lift at nearly 18kg if you have strength issues but the wheels make it easy to move around.
The Karcher K7 Compact is everything we were looking for in a pressure washer. Excellent power, great versatility and easy to store. It is well-constructed with solid controls. Highly recommend.
Faulty technical issues around mobile & terrible support – I purchased the K7 Smart Control as a replacement for an older karcher that served us very well, but this model has been so poorly designed that it failed to operate as advertised. I purchased directly from Karcher via their website. First problem is that it requires a mobile with their app installed to operate the device. If your mobile is not… Read more
near, can’t connect or it fails to add the device in the app, you can’t change the units settings (I kept getting “device not recognised” either through using the included barcode or manually entering in my units details) Second problem is that it uses Bluetooth to link the handle to the main unit. The handle control screen also uses independent batteries from the main unit power supply from mains electricity. (mine would not pair with the main unit showing only a full battery & the pairing icon – the screen remains blank if it can’t connect) As neither of these worked for me, I called their technical support. The support people failed to understand either of the problems or did not have the technical ability to solve them. They both stated they had to escalate to a technician who would call me back to help. On the two occasions I called, nobody called me back. I then demanded a warranty return & they tried to then counter with a replacement unit. When items fail like this one did, you want to feel comfortable that support can assist and respond quickly to your concerns. Especially when paying $1000+ for a device. As I did not feel like my issue was being dealt with promptly or efficiently & the complicated faultu technical issues the device had, I returned the unit.

If the App don't work neither does the K7 'Smart; pressure washer – This device is 'smart' device. As such if its not connected to the app it will not work. The app disconnects and if you do not use it for a period of time it requires you to go to through the log in process again, which is tedious. The key point is no app, your cleaner will not work. When it connects it goes OK but its when it connects. Today… Read more
I spent half an hour trying to get back on, I have given up. It seems the app is more of a marketing devise than anything else for pushing their products. I have used other smart devices and had zero issues. Karcher seems to think cleaning pavers etc is an 'experience' and have forgotten that for most its a tedious chore that you want over ASAP.

Karcher Pressure Washer K7 – The pressure washer worked fine. but stopped working after 2.5 years with very little use, approx once a month. The seals on the pressure washer extension kept leaking after every use and was expensive to replace. There could have been better holders for additional standard attachments. A very expensive for the quality of the product. Karcher… Read more
has a good marketing name in the market. This is my second Karcher product that failed with very little use. Will not buy Karcher again and suggest people investigate alternative products.

Terrible Product. Poorly made. Don't buy it – Purchased a Karcher K7. It consistently broke down. Customer service by Karcher was terrible. It may look good, however it doesn't do the job it states it can. It broke down the 2cnd time it was used. Show details
Poorly made and broke without warranty – Only used about a dozen times before it stopped working and Karcher made it extremely difficult to get it repaired so I gave up and brought another brand. Buyer Beware Show details
Not the product Karcher use to be – I have a k5 and a k7 both consistently break down and like another review the head burst under pressure . As I got sick of taking the units to the repair centre to get repaired I chose to pull the K7 apart myself. It was really disheartening to see the poor quality of the components that Karcher are using now . A cheap Chinese pressure cleaner on… Read more
EBay is about the same quality. So I have thrown the Karcher to the tip and bought a Spitwater . I have an old Karcher that is now pushing 40 years old and still works a treat BUT that was when Karcher made quality products.
Cracked water pressure head after 2nd usage – Purchased K7 Premium FC Plus and the second time I used it the water pressure head cracked leaking water everywhere even without power on. Bunnings kindly replaced the item with the same model and yet again after 2 weeks the water pressure head cracked once again. Reported both issues to Karcher, they took all details and serial numbers of both… Read more
units and said they would get back to me by COB 2 days ago and still no call. Not good Customer Service! Today I returned the item to Bunnings once again for full refund.
Kaercher K7 premium smart control + area cleaner t450 – I'm using it since 3 years, got it for super cheap 670A$ with the T450 Pressure is amazing, what else to say about 180bar and brass pump best precise jet pistol in the market also some really smart features, the bluetooth control might be a bit confusing at first, but it's nice when you get used to it. detergent also works perfect Show details
Rubbish – K7 ‘Premium’ The detergent bottle coupling snapped off and fell into the body of the machine the second time I used it. The hose never winds up or pulls out without getting jammed. The handle is useless. Put simply, just don’t buy it. Show details
Gimmicky junk at a premium price – Too many small problems to list. Lance needs repair every time you change it - little yellow piece and oring come out in the wrong half of the lance. Detergent bottle useless, hose reel useless, but functions ok once you get it working. Won’t even bother with warranty as still will be junk. I’ll buy something else. Show details
Absolute garbage! – I have never in my life bought a piece of equipment this bad! The detergent bottle feature has never worked from new. Now the multijet lance is not spinning. I enquired about warranty, but I have to get this heavy item to a service centre myself. Their instruction video has an error that can be fatal to the machine. I pointed this out to Karcher… Read more

It should have remained simple – I bought is a year ago. It took me all sorts of headaches to pair the lance to the unit. Yes, we followed the instructions to the letter (at least 5 people tried then). DAYS later, it just decided to pair and work for no particular reason. It then worked great for roughly 11 months, good unit over all when it works. And then water got inside the… Read more
LCD screen. I had the lance replaced by Bunnings Rockingham, I am lucky they were very helpful. But now, guess what? The new lance will not pair to the unit no matter what. It could have been a great product but whoever designed the lance needs to get another job. Keep It Simple Stupid mate, it always works better. The worst is that there are no trouble shooting it any manual. What to do? Also, the attachement get very hard to connect to the lance after a few months. This thing is just NOT worth the money. Bare in mind it it a German name on a chinese product.
Doesn't work and the claims process is atrocious. Don't waste your time – 36 days after purchase our karcher K7 handle stopped connecting to the machine. Even though we were only days past the 30 day Bunnings return policy, we were told to send it back through Karchers warranty for repairs. 21 days later we still have no pressure washer. In fact, it hasn't even been assessed for repair yet by Suncoast Pressure… Read more
Cleaners in Warana. They have almost owned it as long as we did. For a nearly $1000 machine we are very surprised at the customer service. We thought Karcher was a reliable company.
do not waste your time and money, I wouldn't even give it a star – The fancy battery control lance doesn't want to connect to the machine. All I can see it the battery level indicator when I try to activate the wand, nothing happens. The instruction manual gives no reason for trouble shooting the land connection issues, the pressure coming out of the lance lasted for about 15 mins now its just a trickle, Now I have to box it up and go get my money back. An easy to use all-rounder – The Karcher K7 Premium Full Control PLUS Home and Car Pressure Cleaner is a mouthful. At time of writing it was the top of the line in terms of domestic electric units from the German brand and my expectations were reasonably high. Even more so, given the fact that I had just sold a much larger industrial petrol washer which I no longer needed for… Read more
work. It’s always hard to step down and accordingly my first impressions were “Oh geez.. .this thing is a toy”, but now with a few weeks of ownership under my belt I will revise my initial take on this washer. OK so with 2600psi (max) and 8.5l flow it’s not a machine that will blow your socks off (literally) but it is actually a really nice unit for around home. Let me get some of the negatives out of the way because I feel the positives far outweigh them and deserve more of the discussion.
First up – plastic, plastic and more plastic. Well, it’s to be expected I guess, but apart from the pull up handle there is not much in the way of metal on this thing. I’m not sure how much of this is an issue since plastic will degrade over time, but I’m sure it’s all reasonable quality. There’s probably some good bits underneath and most of what you see is cladding. The gun parts and connectors are perhaps the most concerning in that regard but at least with Karcher you will have ready access to spares .
Second point is the included foaming gun. It has no adjustments and is about the size of a thimble – hence next to useless for washing anything larger than a Smart. If you need/want foam, the first thing you should do when buying one of these washers is to go and order a PA brand (Italian) foamer (e.g. like the LS3). Things will quickly look up again from there.
The gun – a mixed bag in my opinion. The multi-nozzle front is actually very handy and makes it a breeze to select between low pressure detergent, high pressure spray and turbo nozzle (rotating jet). The Karcher quick coupling also makes things easy when swapping to other attachments. As to the upper part - does it really need to have and LCD display with adjustable pressure? Bit of a gimmick I sense. This is not a machine that will strip the paint clean off your car. It’s probably very rarely that you’ll want to reduce performance on a washer like this. A simple dial on the main unit would have sufficed perhaps. The system is wireless (needing to be paired before use), and could be a potential point of failure down the track I feel. Apart from that, it’s just another bloody thing that needs batteries!
Get over these minor concerns however and the rest really starts to look very good in terms of design and features. Portability is fantastic. Good size wheels combined with a pull up handle means you’ll quickly cart the washer wherever it is needed. It is not a large heavy either so even lifting it up a set of stairs or over obstacles is never an issue. All hose entry/exit points are at the front, giving good stability and allowing you go place the machine into a corner or against a wall whist working. There’s a bungee net to hold the more than adequate power lead at the rear and a clip at the front to securely hold the gun. Two connections, – power on and wash away. No fuss, logical layout that’s very quick to set up and use.
The hose reel is the next big bonus. It holds 10 meters of pressure hose and thereby gives the washer a good working range, plus a quick and easy way to pack up again. The integrated detergent bottle is also a great feature and allows you to swap between various purpose cleaners by simply lifting out the bottle and replacing it with another. The rotary jet attachment for floor washing is included in the premium K7 kit and makes cleaning outdoor areas quick and easy without creating a giant mess. A great addition to an already convenient machine.
The K7 is quiet, feature rich, quick to set up, easy to use – powerful enough for most light domestic purposes, and if the detailed tech reviews can be believed, the internal water-cooled pump and equipment is all top quality. This is a great little pressure washer and unless you need to wash trucks or an oil platform, you will not be disappointed. Good value and highly recommended.
