Karicare comfort – Breastfeeding didn't work for me, so I continued to use nan gold as instructed by hospital, my little boy was very unsettled, finally found karicare comfort and became more settled and using bowels more regulatory. I also found the avent bottles made him scream the house down with our local GP saying he had colic. Now using mam bottles with… Read more
karicare comfort and I have a brand new baby. Little one is 7 weeks old. The only down fall is it can be hard to get a hold of. They should sell this product at all supermarkets. I'm only able to locate at certain pharmacies
Not bad, but not good either for us – We changed our 4 month old to Heinz Nurture Original and despite she loved the taste and was pooping ok at the beginning, after a few bottles she started getting really constipated. She started refusing her feeds and was straining all the time, so we decided to put her on Karicare Comfort for a little while to help her poop. While the formula did… Read more
work in reducing her wind (and the little wind she had was coming out without an issue), it didn't help her with constipation. Still straining, still pellets (even after 10 days), still unsettled. I read that this formula also has a little bit of thickener in it to help with reflux but thickeners are well known to contribute to the constipation factor, so it sounds a bit like a contradiction to me?! Also because of this, the medium flow teat was clogging up all the time making the feeding almost impossible. Fortunately, I had the faster flow teats on hand! The formula also had an unpleasant smell (like all HA types), but bub liked it, so that was no issue. We ended up putting her back to NAN Comfort, it gives her a bit of wind (that's why we gave Heinz a go), but at least she poops regularly and doesn't strain all the time!! I am glad Karicare Comfort helped some people, but didn't make much of a difference to us unfortunately. Good price for HA formula, reduced lactose helped control wind Not easy to find, didn't help with constipation, no scoop leveller, had to upgrade teat flow
Perfect for my little guy – I've tried a few formulas for my son but found he was pooing every 3 days and he always was whingey irritable farting heaps distressed crying from ongoing tummy discomfort. I found Nan Comfort worked great for him but I wanted one which was 100% whey so I then gave s26 comfort a go and it was good but still he was pooing 2- 3days but without any… Read more
discomfort.
I then spoke with a midwife at the aptamil hot line who suggested my sons symptoms may be better suited to Karicare Comfort. My son has been on it for a week and it has been perfect for him. He poos once sometimes twice a day and his no longer distressed from tummy pain. He has the occasional fart but it's not as frequent as before or as stinky. helped my little one poo within first 2 bottles. 100% whey, contains omega & prebiotic no scoop leveller in tin so you need a knife to level off the powder, can be a little clumpy if mixed with room temp water so I put it in microwave for 15 seconds and it smooths out any clumps
So greatful to find this new formula – After trying three different standard formula and my baby suffering in pain with stomach pains, wind, constipation and reflux i am so greatful for the wonderful advice i was given by the karicare helpline who suggested this formula for colicy babies. The formula is 100% whey ie no casein so is easy to digest and also has a thickener in it to help… Read more
keep it down and keeps my baby satisfied till her next due feed. My baby has been so much happier since starting this formula she still gets a bit of reflux but its not too bad now.
Poohs can be a bit slugey and green but come out easy and daily so thats an easy fix.
Product can be a bit hard to find and have been only able to find at coles and priceline. If u have a chemist warehouse nearby they have much better prices for it.
Due to having a thickener in it i did have to go up a teat size but no real deal breaker just wanted to prepare others that are considering trying to have on hand the next size flow teats.
Also i gave this milk a full three weeks for my baby to settle on this formula as any change does need a bit of time to see outcome.
Also tin label can be a bit misleading as its marketed for constipated babies so could be overlooked by alot of people, from what i understand it is the no casein which helps with the constipation there is nothing in it specicially to treat consipation and i intend to use this product until my babys reflux has gone for good. Happy baby, 30ml scoops so less wasteage Hard to find, no in tin scoop leveller, needs warmed water to dissolve properly
Great Formula! – This was the 3rd formula I tried for my 2 month old baby. After switching from breast to formula when he was 4 wks he was a completely different baby. Screeming, crying, green balls of poop and not sleeping at all was doing my head in. He was in so much pain all the time. Tried infocal, coloxel drops and constant patting and baths nothing… Read more · 2
was working. I came across Karicare + comfort and it has been a god ever since.
My baby is so much more settled, sleeps for long periods and does not even cry while trying to poo.
I would recommend to everyone with the same problems. Settled my baby Can only buy from chemist
Finally, the (almost) perfect formula! – This is the third formula I've tried for my 4 month old daughter and finally we have found one that agrees with her! After significant issues with wind and bowel movements, my baby is now much happier and content since the switch to Karicare comfort. It is a really gentle formula and would suit babies who have had issues with regular… Read more · 1
formulas.
This formula would be absolutely perfect except it is very difficult to dissolve properly and tends to 'clump' on shaking and blocks bottle teats. Good for my baby, gentle formula, availability very difficult to dissolve!
