Love our tent! – Have had this tent for more than a decade and used it multiple times with children and dogs and it’s still fantastic. Easy to set up and take down. Show details

Very spacious – Used once for 6 nights , Very easy to erect with such simple instructions . However the mesh above the main sleeping quarters pulled in moisture creating a drip . The flooring got holes in it from the eyelets that the poles slip into . Must be a better way to old it  Show details

An excellent tent – We have just survived 2 nights of thunderstorms and 60km/hr winds very comfortably in our Retreat 270. we are a family of five and fitted with room to spare. It needs two to erect but it is easy to do. We had 30mm of rain and it stayed perfectly dry, even when we had the inside nylon open and only the flyscreen closed as it was so hot. It did get a bit warm but the ventilation was pretty good.

Great design, very waterproof, but the poles break easily – Use beach camping, great tent design, however you need 2 people to assemble, I would recommend a video clip on how to do this- it has taken us some trial and error to discover how to put it up easily. However the poles broke on ours whilst drying the tent up-side-down when it was caught in a wind gust. It was the grey poles too. Luckily still… Read more

under warranty. I would expect them to be stronger as I have never had poles break when I have dried other brands of tents (even a cheap K-mart tent!) up-side-down. Don't know how they would survive in a storm..... Treat it very gently now and enjoy using it as it is a very waterproof tent with a well thought out design

Hopeless tent – Grey poles are terrible. Have had ours break twice in 4 camps. Kathmandu Knox city have been useless, trying to charge me $23 for a new grey pole when it's obviously a design fault ( they had a pile of broken poles out the back! ) You would think after spending a small fortune on a tent there would at least be some decent customer service! Would never spend another cent at Kathmandu and would not recommend the retreat 270 to my worst enemy

Great tent – We've had this tent for two years now and have found it excellent. We have three kids under 8 and its a good size for us. There are three rooms separated by removable dividers. We sleep the bigger two kids in one, the little one in the smaller end and us in the middles. Easily fits a queen size mattress in both larger sections but only a single in… Read more

the smaller end. Quality-wise it's fantastic. Ours looks brand new (apart from the texts scribble thanks to one of our kids). It's easy to put up, YouTube video is great to see how it's done. I would highly recommend it. I bought it on sale for about $300 but it retails for $900. Kathmandu always have big sales so wait until it's on sale.

Very dissapointing! :-( – After one year of having this tent already a lot of wear and tear. The sleeves for the poles have a lot of wear. The grey poles are to long to fit in the sleeves and have severe damage. One grey pole set broke for a second time. Not a durable tent! Inexpensive, spacious Not durable

Perfect for two – Spacious three zone tent with a large central living Area. Easy to setup with ample ventilation. Perfect for the longer stays. It even includes Velcro fasteners to tidy up internal light cables if you have them. It has lots of storage bins to keep your camping neat n tidy. I liked the flexibility of doors on all four sides so you can make the best USE of any site. Comfortably fits a queen size mattress with room on both sides to spare.
