Best cruiser bar none !
I ride to work each day , plus for fun on days off . I am 63 and have riding all my life . Owned a Vn1600 and two 1700 nomads . They are bullet proof , comfortable and very reliable . Up here in qld the water cooled engine gets a bit warm in summer but the lack of fairing and good airflow helps . No mechanical issues just regular services .my current vn1700 has Vance and Hines pipes which means the tin tops know you're there . My wife says it's the most comfortable pillion seat ever , and the luggage stays dry in the hard boxes . A heavy bike

After my Harley this was kind a maybach. With 25k miles. Awesome bike. Up till now no problem I faced with my lady. 10l for 250 miles. If you look something classic sporty solid this gonna be the best one. Anyway maybe others like super fast Suzukis or Hondas are better option, but I like this one!
Excellent bike
20L tank = 300+kms on the highway, a bit lower around town. Good low seating position, and easy to put both feet down when stopped. Plenty of power in 5th gear, but it's set up more for mid-gear torque. Low to non-existent vibration at highway speeds (some vibrations between 40-60kms, but clean afterwards). I purchased mine (2003 model) with 17k on the clock. The previous owner put V&H longshots on it, and they're great. Guaranteed to set off car alarms in underground parking garages. No other mods.
love it!
I bought my 2003 VN 1600 with about 25,000 km on it in 2013. It came with aftermarket saddlebags and V&H long shots already fitted. I fitted a K&N filter and Power Commander III then had it dyno tuned. It went from being a great bike to a fantastic bike. Smoothness and power increased right across the range and I get better fuel economy. It is easy to maintain, has a great fuel range, is very comfortable (I am 1.86 m tall) and looks sensational. It is black with a blue metallic fleck and I love the colour. I wish I could afford to buy an

Best bike I have owned
I bought my 2005 vn1600 classic in February 2012. Had almost 100,000km on the clock. As far as I'm aware it has had no major mechanical work but has been serviced regularly. I have had the bike 8 moths and it has never missed a beat. I have serviced the bike once since I bought it. I added V & H pipes and air induction kit. Sounds awesome.
It has been kept in pristine condition and used mainly on long trips by previous owner. I have previously ridden many off road and road machines in the past. Most of those bikes are better performance wis
... Read moree but this is by far and away the nicest bike I have ridden. It has plenty of power and torque. A comfortable riding position and set up and basically maintenance free. I never get tired of riding it. My wife doesn't ride bikes which suited me fine but when I bought it she decided to get an extra helmet. Now I can't get rid of her! We both enjoy hitting the road and stopping off at different destinations. My days of head down and bottom up are gone and I couldn't be happier. It is such an awesome bike and it just looks so good! I know there are many other great bikes out there but I love the size, style, classic looks of the vn1600. It brings a smile to my face every time I ride it and it is just so relaxing to just get on my bike and ride, which I try to do as much as I can. If I had to pick another bike it would probably be the Road King because I like the look, but the cost is a turn off. To be honest in my humble opinion there is not another cruiser that looks as good as the vn 1600 classic. It's just that sexy. Size, comfort, reliability and classic look! Ride all day with pillion no problems. Good fuel range. Low ground clearance when cornering, people always think its a HarleyBest of the cruisers in its class.
Great looking bike, spend a few extra dollars and put on some Vance & Hines bigs shots, makes a great sound. Also looks great with a bit of bling, customised mirrors, handlebars, Mustang seat etc. Chrome everywhere. Lots of power, handles well at high and low speeds, also great for longer rides, you won't feel fatigued like you do on most sport bikes.
Solid build, quality and reliability, starts first time everytime. cheap to buy, run and maintain. Not paying thousands of extra dollars for a brand name. Best of all looks great, love to ride it
Havn't found anything yet, have owned a 2004 model for past year or so.
Excellent
I have allways liked the looks of the classic VN 1600 and the performance is great. I like the hide of the seating and the massive tank. And purchasing the Vance & Hines pipes is strongly recommended.
I bought my VN1600 in 2004 and has been extremly happy with the performance of the bike. Its a great looking bike and its very comfortable on long rides. I have tried Harley but got uncomfortable on long rides. I just recently purchased Vance & Hines Big Shot pipes from the US and it made a massive differance in the speed of the bike, and sound great. Also the horn on the bike is great (nice and loud)
Noisy engine and no alarm as standard supply
Excellent
Great bike feels strong and reliable well built with seamlees fuel tank finished in a nice metalic black - This is the best in this range of bike (including Harleys) for the money.
Looks, Finish, Design layout, reliability, this bike has everything a crusier should. Fuel injection gives good ecconomy and ups perfomance. Duel disc brakes up front very comfortable riding position. Good solid build design (metal guards)Shaft drive needs hardly any maintenance.
Factory tuned motor to meet USA emissions needs adjustment (pipes filter remap) but most bikes will fall under this prob. Small vibration in handle bar at low rpm
Excellent
