Bough a badly made Ssangoyong lack of longevity and after sales support from Ssangyong/KGM. Fuel system completely failed after only 2 years. They ignored/delayed repair for 200 days until they are ordered to fix and compensate. The 7 years warranty is worth a piece of paper as only tribunal can enforce it. Waste of time and money. Attaching the tribunal order for your future reference to the brand.
SsangYong Torres launched in Australia late 2024 and little Aussies know about it due to limited marketing programs. SsangYong Torres was launched in South Korea early this decade and it has been a big hit with waiting order up to 18 months. The Torres is an absolutely brilliant SUV, it ticks all boxes with its striking muscular look. Every angle of the car is perfectly blend in with its sleek strong statement modern design where the rest of the field shared the same repeatedly appearance. The Torres has all the bells and whistle that you can poke your fingers with. It comes with 7 years warranty at a sub $40k driveaway. Most of other Koreans and Japanese are at least close to $50k for driveaway deal. SsangYong is known for its reliability and durability for many decades. It is the 3rd largest vehicle company in South Korea.
Why choose Chinese cars with no proven history, parts are none existence along with extremely poor resale value!! You are end up with a big hole in your bank account or wallet with Chinese cars than the initial amount you paid.
Follow-up · Torres is a suburban SUV hence I don't use it for offroad,. It has been excellent 9 months and i done a bit of coastal drive and country drive as well with 4 full size adults. It goes like a rocket up the mountain without any harsh grunt from the engine. I am loving it as much as the the first day I took it out from the dealer. The best SUV I have owned. The seats are comfortable for a long day drive, the dashboard is very impressive compared to other SUV in the market.
