This car is the biggest piece of garbage I have ever had to deal w/ in my LIFE – Customers have reported a few common problems with this vehicle. And my vehicle literally has every single issue on the list. Ready for the list? 1. The rear brake calipers are crappy and tend to stop working. (DANGEROUS AF) 2.Driveability issues, if present, are likely to be caused by faulty sensors, most notably the O2 and throttle position… Read more

sensors: if one of these is acting up, there may be a “check engine” light illuminated. Not to mention, when you plug a diagnostic code reader into the car- once it starts breaking, it goes from 0 codes to like 15 codes within a few weeks. Once you fix one thing, that code goes away and like 5 more pop up in its place. 3.You’ll want to ensure all interior accessories work as expected -- including all windows, locks, sunroof, seat-heaters, and air conditioning. Note the condition of the upholstery and leather, too. Ensure both sun visors up front stay folded up on their own, as many owners report that they lose this ability over time. 4.Check that the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) isn’t showing any warnings, which could indicate a low tire or a bad sensor. Also, turn off the radio and “listen” for any unwelcomed noises from the suspension, especially at the rear of the vehicle. Some suspension noise seems to be normal in the Kia Magentis as it ages, though shoppers are advised to have a mechanic inspect the suspension ahead of their purchase, just in case.

So in conclusion, to sum it all up- there are a only a few areas that could use some adjustment. Unfortunately, these 4 problems , are not small problems. They may start out small, but they turn into big problems real quick. This car is trash!

I love my car! – I have a 2008 EX-L model which I purchased in 2016. It has since become rare and it's my collector's piece! Luxury all the way with electric front driver's seat, many airbags, leather interior and the list goes on. Drives like a dream and is easy on fuel. I treat this car like a favourite child and have it serviced and maintained regularly. If… Read more

someone offered me big dollars for it I'd have to decline. It's a shame Kia stopped manufacturing Magentis but the parts are still available (maybe from newer Kias). Only down-side is no reversing aid, none the less, 10/10.

The best car I have ever owned! – I purchased my 2006 Kia Magentis a few months ago from a used car dealer and to say I am impressed is an understatement. I have the EX-L model so it has all the mod cons such as leather seats/trim, climate control etc and all that I want and need in a car. The 2.4 four cylinder has plenty of power while being very, very good on fuel, currently… Read more

down to 7.4 litres per 100 k's just by driving sensibly. Also love the fact it has a timing chain so no expensive belt replacement. The 5 speed automatic sports style transmission is far more responsive than my aunts 2007 Camry! Build quality is impressive and right up there with the other big car makers, the paintwork is still in pristine condition even after my lack of washing it haha. The interior is quite spacious and easily fits 5 adults in comfort and the boot is massive for a mid size sedan. The sound system is only a basic CD/radio set up but it throws out awesome sound due to it's 180 watts of power. I love my Magentis and I recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable used car. Others have mentioned because of it's rarity that parts are difficult to find but after speaking to a couple of mechanics I found out the Magentis is closesly related to the Hyundai Sonata and share a lot of the same components so parts are actually easy to source.

Excellent – Great on fuel, very comfortable on long trips, no problems with anything had car since 2007 wouldn't trade for anything but another Magentis. We often have to travel 430 klms for drs appointments and the car sits on the road extremely well and is a dream to drive.Handles all kinds of weather without any problems smoothness, quite, reliable, 15,000 service and warranty

Excellent – Like the previous review mentions no one's heard of it which mean that parts will be difficult to find in the future. I dropped the height of mine and put alloys on her and she looks hot! When I pull up at the lights people stare. Just like the slogan says, "Built to Suprize" If you trook the badge off and replaced it with an AUDI badge only… Read more

AUDI owners would know it's not an AUDI. The KIA Magentis is beatiful car! It looks like a cross between an AUDI A4 and a Subaru Liberty. It's the best car on the market for the price. This car handles like a dream and is great on fule consumption! 5 YEAR WARRANTY!!!! The badge says KIA

Good – The magentis is the best value medium sedan on the market at present. Nice drive and has all the safety features of upmarket cars. Little to fault except for poor AM radio reception with is not acceptable in a modern car. Kia needs to fix this problem soon. Equipment Levels, smooth four cylinder, safety features, reasonably good handling & ride,… Read more

Excellent – Excellent value for money. Larger car that still handles well. Looks great with dark window tint. This car handles the everyday drive like a dream. It is one of the best cars for the money ever. Smooth 5 spped automatic, highway fuel consumption very low, Equipment & features, quality extras such as boot and bonnet gas struts, roomy boot and interior, full size spare. lack of GPS/Sunroof options.

Excellent – I bought the Magentis EX-L V6 as a demo with 12,000kms for $23,600, 15 months ago and it has been totally reliable with zero defects. Servicing has been around $300 per 15,000kms. Fuel economy from the smooth little V6 is amazingly good, much better than my 4-cylinder Volvo. The car is comprehensively equipped with every practical and… Read more ·  1

thoughtful feature. Safety is particularly good with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS brakes, strong high tensile steel body. Paintwork is as new despite being outside 24/7. I am frequently impressed by the handling of this car and find it enjoyable to drive. I particularly like the fact that I have 3 years of the 5-year warranty to go - not that I anticipate using it! My wife occasionally drives the car and always coments positively on the experience. She is a noted big car hater, so the compact dimensions of the Magentis (about 80% to 85% as large as a Camry) obviously help. Despite its compact exterior, we find the boot is huge and the interior amazingly spacious for a conventional sedan.

We like the styling of the car and enjoy its quiet anonymity, although we do get the occasional double takes from car watchers due to its comparitive rarity. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend the Kia Magentis and intend to keep mine for many years. Unbeatable value for a quality, reliable, comfortable, economical and safe car. Nothing yet!

Excellent – We've had our Magentis 2.4 EX-L almost 3yrs now and it's a beaut! I love the look, the 10 air bags (not that I ever want to use them), the leather seats, the auto-headlight sensor, the adjustable wind-screen wipers, the cruise-control, the funky driver seat adjustments, the power and the super friendly Kia dealership staff who've quoted me the… Read more

same if not better service rate as Ultra Tune etc. Get in quick while they're still tring to make a name for themselves and you get it way cheaper than it's really worth. Reliable, flattering, value-for-money, SAFE car

Very hard to replace – Purchased March 2010 after indecision on Honda accord & Ford Mondeo tdci, price for equipment level (had to match or exceed equipment of Fairlane) was incredable at that time (Optima 50% dearer 20% better). The primary driver -my wife was horrified at the thought of a KIA -so put dark tint on windows so no one could tell she was the driver !… Read more

Promised her what ever car she wanted if a 'KIA' was still a bit 'NQR' for her image. Its now MAY 2012 we have looked at scores of potential replacements to find very few (disregard brand image / external looks) cars are actually better than the Magentis -virtually every top of the range model seems to have a mandatory sunroof (pet hate of ours) combined with harsh riding low profile tyres. The magentis which for us was the proverbial ugly duckling for the 1st 24 months seems to have become a bit of a swan ! owned for 4 years 120k Brilliant! Std.equipment, brilliant blend of high & low tech in engine giving low operating costs, A/C best ever Its a KIA, look like spending 50 - 60 k to get replacement thts genuinely superior
