The estimated length of the heater elements in the blanket is about 1.1 metres. This effectively is nothing more than a foot warmer, or at best reaches feet to upper legs. Yet, they are claimed to be an electric blanket which is clearly deceptive. What a rip off. An electric blanket should be body length. And does Kickass care? I informed them, but crickets (cold ones I suppose). I’ll be avoiding this brand

These blankets are great, but you do need to understand how to use them to get best from them, so instructions could be better. These should always be used under a blanket/doona in a layering system, or the heat they generate will be lost. Once set up correctly, they will produce a decent ammount of heat. We have tested down to -5 in a tent, and the feedback on highest heat setting was 'too hot'. Note, they do use a lot of power. Ours used about 6ah per night on full power, and given the timer is maxed at 3h, there would have been some downtime before it was switched back on. 5/5 great for family adventures

These great little blankets are pretty gentle in terms of power drain and do a fantastic job of pre-warming your sleeping bag before bed. Whilst I am not a fan of the cigarette lighter plug, that would be my only complaint. These are otherwise a great addition to our cold weather camping kit. I have used Kickass products for more than 15 years. They are well priced, well built products, backed by helpful after sales service. We love our 12/24v electric blankets!
