Kincrome

Purchased a K7929 tool trolley. Absolute piece of junk. One drawer so misaligned you can barely open it. The steel is paper thin. Kincrome support is useless. Got it from Sydney Tools in Clayton, who refuse to take it back. They're also a garbage company to deal with.
Thin walled tools for purpose – I have had a few different brands. I like the feel and look of the combination spanners and sockets and what is important to me is the thickness of the ring and also the socket wall thickness is comparably narrow which allows more chance of working up against a rise near the bolt or nut. Obviously this makes them weeker but I use any old cheap… Read more
impact sockets if I have to hang on a bolt with a breaker bar. If you're a good mechanic then 99% of your talent is choosing the right tool. Anyone can break the wrong choice. If you break it it's your fault. I would never buy many of the accessory items like the ratchets or screwdriver etc. They are cheap and only good for home use. I use Italian made Beta ratchets and Japanese made screwdrivers but you pay 5 to 10 times as much for EU, Japan or US tools and there is a marked difference. You also have to pick Kincrome items made in Taiwan not China.
If moving parts bewarey – I have had a quarter inch drive witch has snapped of the square tongue of using a ten millimetre socket contacted twice no response not good I will never buy any Kincrome product again as if it has moving parts no warranty so much for lifetime warranty witch is only 3years +2 so five years is a lifetime for your tools will shop around for cheaper… Read more
an better at least I can buy 3 units for the price of one just sad service It finally came through it only took six months to get only one staff member did her job
Never had a problem – I've had kincrome for years ,never a problem far better chrome plating ,double plated I think ,than old sidchrome ,u can't have chrome chips falling of if u r engine building ,all my old sidchrome tools,40 year's, the chrome has chipped off, also have full set of Dowidat spanners and ring spanners , made in the old West Germany, super strong… Read more
tools, but the chrome has chipped off,so there you are ! To those that have broken ratchets ,most likely they've tried to undo bolts or nuts that are tightened ,instead of undoing the bolt with ring spanner or socket and breaker bar ,first. If buying again, it's Stahlwille, Hazet, or Snapon. Best Regards from 45 year's in Machining ,Toolmaking, Engineering maintenance, and Engines.
generally above average – Got quite a few Kincrome tools. Haven't really had any problems with them. I think they do the basics fairly well and their tools generally feel above average for quality with some exceptions. Warranty wise has been hit and miss for me. Had broken ratchets, sockets, breaker bar replaced no questions asked. However had a torch and a punch fail and… Read more
they didn't want to know me. Overall I generally consider them to be the base line for professional use and more then good enough for home use
Noisy. Floor fan – 50cm floor fan. Noisy as all hell. Because text must have ten words, I repeat as noisy as all hell.
5k worth of rusting tools – Wrote to kincrombe to ask if it was a fualt in the batch, tools 12 months old haven't even been taken out of the tool chest have already started rusting badly. Kincrombe had Terrible customer service a guy called [Name Removed] didn't give two shots, said I have to go and oil them every week or they rust. Fact is everyone know who bought… Read more
kimcrombe tools before the quality went to crap have 20 years and no rust.
Don't buy this crap other Chinese brands would be better atleast they care about reputation.
Rubbish - Not worth the money – Purchased a couple Kingcrome T30 Torx 1/2 drive sockets to do some very very basic repairs to a car door lock.. BOTH items failed and twisted and broke before they even reach the min torque settings.. seems nothing is made like it used to be... steel ? More like it was made from frozen butter.
Should have read Kincrome review – Absolutely F’ed me over. Tool trolly set Promoted a special Ordered Said that item is absolutely Then said they found one 1 week went by Ask when will be ready for collection Told waiting for some tools Told them I needed for a big job Start of week 3 told was dispatched Monday Thursday afternoon no one knows the tracking number Have to… Read more
cancel job and ticked my customer off
If you could supply should tell the truth!!!! Can’t lie straight in bed!
Very Poor after care They do not supply spare part – Bought allenkey set but lost 5mm burring work. Asked supplier and Kincrome Head office but they dont sell separately even the key set still on catalogue. I can not recommended to buy this brand.
You are an idiot if you spend money on kincrome.!! – Spent over $3000.00 on kincrome tools for my garage. Also purchased Katana brand ( kincrome crap as well) A quarter of the gear I purchased is defective. The store of purchase has closed for good, thx to covid. My katana battery( purchased date December 2021) no longer charges. ( warranty on battery is 12 months from date of purchase). However,… Read more
kincrome refuse to A) replace or repair any tool within conditions and warranty timing, B) the kincrome rep ( for the katana battery) is refusing to replace, even tough, the battery is in excellent condition, and is within the warranty period. I'll be selling all my kincrome tools due to a lack of crap customer service.
I wish they were better – I have over $1500 worth of these tools and many items have failed and broken. Multiple Socket adaptors, the rubbish Led work light. Magnetic pick up tool, yellow waterproof tool bag, all failed and were a waste of money. Very disappointing. The digital torque meter is unreliable unless you tweak the battery contacts. I’m on my sixth battery since… Read more
it turns on when you don’t need it (when in it’s case) and off when you do. The auto off bug/feature is also a monumental design failure. Who wants to have it turn off multiple times and have to mess around when it turns back on to some random stored setting (there are 80 or more to cycle through if you want to use them, a ridiculous amount when you have to press the crappy buttons and they only cycle one way. I wont be using it for important fastening anymore, it is only for wheel nuts now. If i keep using it it will go the same way as the crappy led work light that was unreliable too many times and went flying into a hard surface. I was going to buy the largest torque wrench but I’ll have to go for the snap-on and pay the big dollars for a tool I only rarely use. I try to do as much maintenance as I can on my cars so I’m buying specialist tools as needed and I don’t hold back if I need something. I need to step up my game and get better quality tools and keep most of my Kincromes as backups. I do like the magnetic 10mm socket that comes with the torx bit set and the socket set has been good enough as is the very small torque wrench.
Poor quality, poor support, high price – Bought a digital vernier caliper. Not great, but not el-cheapo either. Due to poor electronic design it sucks the battery dry in no time, even without use. So I've removed the battery when not in use. And due to another poor design decision, the battery compartment slider broke apart, so now I've got a useless $70 caliper due to a cost-saving on… Read more
a $1 plastic bit.
It says "lifetime warranty" on it, so I've called them. They sent me to Bunnings, they don't do direct support. (I've asked "can't you just send me a replacement of this tiny cheap bit?" - no direct support)
Then of course the caliper is in Bunnings for weeks now, because the Kincrome rep who was supposed to, hasn't turned up 3 weeks ongoing. Call to Kincrome again, they'll try to do something, I should send an email.
Did that.
Another week gone, still no word from anyone.
I just bought another caliper, and I'll avoid Kincrap from here on.
I recommend everyone to do the same.
Very bad warranty service ! – This review is about the poor customer service when making a warranty claim I was told lies, mislead and then told to go and buy another brand JUST STAY AWAY !
