Bought this back in 2021 for a small fortune ($3800). I have a bad back and expected that price equals quality. Unfortunately not so. Although it was comfortable in Harvey Norman, within 3 months it sagged in our sleeping positions and a ridge formed down the centre of the mattress. The ridge in particular made the bed feel like we are sleeping on… Read more

a slope and caused shoulder and back aches. The warranty conditions are so onerous that the ridge is considered 'fair wear' and wasnt pronounced enough, and to have the bed looked at meant going without a bed for a few months and wearing the transport costs.

Having had such a long drawn out process dealing with Harvey Norman and another bed company immediately prior to purchasing the Chiro Tycoon mattress, I couldnt be bothered fighting for another refund.

I've now gone for a 'bed in a box' brand which so far has been a lot more comfortable, much cheaper, and has had better customer service. Given the difficulty of dealing with Harvey Norman and the Chiro Tycoon bed company, I figure that if there is a problem and the bed in a box company become difficult to deal with, that for the price of this mattress I can dispose of it and get multiple mattresses and still be ahead compared to purchasing another expensive name brand bed from HN.

Perfect mattress. Very comfortable while also providing the right amount of support and it’s breathable, cool in summer and warm in winter. We have the firm mattress and it feels like a cloud to lie on. Purchased one for my daughter to support her back issue and she no longer wakes up in pain. Beautiful mattress, I highly recommend it! Show details ·  1

It’s a hot mattress – I found this mattress comfortable but very hot to sleep on. The salesman at Harvey Norman Talked about some mattresses being hot and some cold but I thought it couldn’t be that bad as we have always bought King Coil and never had an issue. It definitely is a hot mattress to sleep on. Show details

don't buy it you will regret it – I purchased this mattress from Harvey Norman in December of 2019. The mattress was delivered by Harvey Norman. I noticed in the first few weeks that a area of the mattress that I was sleeping on was collapsing .A short time after when I was in bed,as I moved ,I heard a spring sounds but did not take any notice of it , from that time onwards I… Read more

started to notice the collapsed area of the bed seemed to be getting worse. I had taken photos to the best the best of my ability ,with a stick to measure the depth of the sag, after being given instructions of what I should do by the manufacturer, For interest sake i did full bed rotations approximately ounce a month, my height is a little over 6 feet and I weigh in at about 94 kg. The manufacture sent out a rep, who by the way was great to deal with, and it was determined that the mattress was faulty so the manufacturer picked up the mattress. they determined that it had a faulty inner spring and pillow top so both were replaced. to cut a long story short when I received the mattress back it was exactly the same. Also the Manufacturer was very difficult to deal with ... do not waste your money on this quite expensive mattress you will regret it. I have purchased a new mattress from beauty rest Australia and it is the absolute best. forgot to mention the stains under the bed when it was delivered, also the the back ache and discomfort.

Very disappointed in this mattress! – We purchased this mattress about 2 months ago from Harvey Norman and we’ve regretted buying it ever since!. The sales staff member gave us no advice or requirements, they just how much we wanted to spend. The King Koil Chiro Tycoon medium does feel comfortable in store and when we got it home falling sleeping was not an issue. It’s waking up with… Read more

back and neck pain (which we never experienced with our previous mattress). We called the store after the first night and we were told it could take up to 3 months to settle which wasn’t what we wanted to hear. We rotated the mattress every 2 weeks but by the 5th week we couldn’t take it anymore, my wife has been to the Chiro twice to fix her back pain I’m still enduring lower back pain as a direct result of this mattress. I’m not sure what person would find this mattress comfortable as theres no back support and it makes a slight sag where you lye on it. After complaining to HN and AH Beard (the manufacturer) we were told they could “adjust it” which we were not interested in that option and currently waiting for them to assess it at home for hopefully a refund/ credit. Unfortunately we had no choice but to buy another mattress straight away, but this time we went to a retailer that specialise in mattresses that gave us good advice and a 60 day comfort guarantee as well.

Bad back ache and neck – Brought the king koil tycoon chiro plush queen from Harvey Norman for $2600 , waste of money. Had it for 28 days. Got serious back pain and sore neck after 2 weeks as hips we’re sinking in bed and bending my back. There is no support for a straight back. Could not sleep on my back or stomach as would always bend my back as to soft. Literally… Read more

could not use mattress after 3 weeks - ever again , that’s how bad it was. Harvey Norman should be not be selling that mattress as ripping off customers. So my parents decided to try mattress as they said to me it takes a couple of weeks to get used to bed but when they tried it they found it not comfortable aswell. It felt really comfortable in the shop but not the case when you sleep in it for a week.

After persistant harrasing at Harvey Norman to tell the situation about my mattress . king koil is allowing to change mattress to different feel with no extra cost. So I will getting the firm one. All I have to do is pay for delivery. Fingers crossed no problems there. If I had this mattress for 2 months I probably would not got to change to firm. Only because I had it no more than 30 days.

3 Months = Back Ache – We bought the King Coil Chiro Tycoon Medium mattress 3 months ago. Within the last month we have had extremely bad back ache and have noticed the mattress is sagging. Although it would not be considered a warranty, as the minimum sag is around 25mm which is below the acceptable warranty standard. The mattress feels like a Plush although it is a… Read more

Medium. We did advise Harvey Norman of the fault but to meet the warranty requirements are so comprehensive that the warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Very Disappointed

Poor support leading to poor sleep – We bought this mattress a week ago and have had terrible sleep ever since. We purchased the medium, but it feels like a plush. We sink so far into the mattress that it's difficult to move. The edge of the mattress is nice and firm, but that means we spend the night on an angle rolling into the middle of the bed and into each other. At the shop,… Read more

the mattress on display was pretty comfortable, and we were told to expect that our new mattress would be a little firmer to begin with. I wish that were the case. Really not happy with our purchase.

Didn't last for 6 months – Mattress sink in less than 3 months despite regular rotation, I'm only 60kg! Wouldn't expect i could dip a mattress to this extent, never happen before. Memory foam did not recover even I've stop sleeping on it for 2months. Suffering serious back issue now from the dip of the mattress. The dip is that bad that my 6months old baby will roll into the dip unintentionally. Disappointing purchase, never trust king koil again. Show details

"Its All About the Base" – [I have edited my review from a 1 to a 5 - please read why below] Original Review: I bought the QS King Coil Tycoon Plush on special down from $3600 after testing several different types. Previously had a very good quality, pillow-top bed that luckily I kept, because I am now sleeping on it again. In the store the bed feels soft at the top and… Read more ·  1

very supportive underneath. It is a very impressive first experience. However, after a couple of days I started getting back pain and in the morning I noticed that I was lying in a very large dent. Changing positions regularly (side, front, back) during the night made no difference and the lack of sleep and back pain got worse. I am not overweight and am not a tall person. Looking from the side, I measured the amount I sink into the bed and it is in the range of 120-150mm. This happens slowly during the night as (I assume) the foam continues to compress. Customer care defended the mattress and used the health restrictions as an excuse for not offered any support. Same reaction from Harvey Norman who again defended the bed and said it was a "comfort choice". Having thought I was buying luxury and fantastic sleep, I am bitterly disappointed.

Follow-up Review: Following more complaints by myself at Harvey Norman's, AH Beard sent out an assessor who said my old ensemble base (still in excellent condition) wasn't suitable and neither was the new slatted base that I had originally bought to support the new mattress. He advised that I should put a solid board under the mattress. I was skeptical at first so tried the mattress on the floor; I noticed a dramatic reduction in the sag, support and comfort level. So I invested in a large 16mm board to go under the mattress and on top of the slatted bed base, drilling 22mm holes every 100mm (yes a lot of drilling). The mattress is totally different now and I am exceptionally happy with the quality of support and sleep. I feel myself slowly sink through the upper mattress topper and then are fully supported by the lower mattress. Quite clearly the mattress must have a solid base otherwise it's spring support system can't function effectively. I wish the salesperson had told me that... Anyway, to be fair to the company, I felt obligated to come back and amend my score from 1 to 5 as I now have what I believed I paid for.

Great mattress AH Beard – I think I have held onto my old mattress for way too long. I went to the store and tried over 6 variants of mattresses from all different manufacturers. I decided on an Australian company AH Beard. My old mattress is over 8 years old from another brand and what is clear to me is that I needed to change the mattress out a long time ago. I won't wait 8 years next time. I side note, take your time to choose the mattress, it took a couple of hours. Show reply
