Falling apart after 12 months – Reading all the other reviews it's obvious we may have a dud cot, our side rail has completely fallen apart this afternoon with all the individual slats coming unstuck from the frame and the side rail collapsing. They come with a 2 year warranty but we can't find the receipt and I'm reluctant to try and glue it back together as a dud cot isn't… Read more

something you want you baby sleeping in through the night. Side rail was also tricky to move up and down one-handed initially, the cot does feel a little flimsy however I was pretty happy with it until today! I think in some respects you do get what your pay for, King Parrot is a lot cheaper than the more solid brands and obviously this is for good reason.

Perfect – Hubby got this one right! After the usual fastidious (sigh) research,he came up with this for our baby girl. I cannot fault it. Safe and easy to operate, it has served its time both as a cot and bed for the past 3 years. Great look and design. Just nice! Everything. Easy to use. Safe. Nice finish. Australian timber. Complies to all Australian safety standards

Excellent – Have been very happy with the purchase. Would definately recommend to anyone as an alternative to the more expensive brands. Very sturdy cot, love the drop down side which can be used one handed (very useful when bub is older and heavier), and saves money by converting into a single bed. I bought it as a combo with the matching change table. I… Read more

bought it as it is made by Boori (I loved their cots) and has all the same benefits but cost less. As it is a bit bigger that the standard cot, you need to buy the bigger cot sheet sets. I've been caught out a couple of times by buying ones too small!

Great Cot - No Regrets – I looked around for ages before purchasing a cot. Cost was a big factor as I didn't want to break the bank. I found the KP Scout to be great value and it ticked all the boxes. It looks good, easy to assemble, has the option to convert to a todder bed (which we didn't use), variety of colours available, two levels for the mattress, easy to use side… Read more

rail, not overyly expensive. I am happy with my purchase, we used it for two years and had no problems with it and now we are expecting bub no. 2 so we are about to give it another work out. Easy to assemble, one handed cot rail makes it easy to put up and down, two levels for newborn and infant, not too expensive, looks good. I found on occasions the side rail was a bit noisy going up and down and it does need a slightly bigger cot mattress, but apart from this I can't fault it.

Good – This was my first Kingparrot cot, and remained in use for 2.5 years as cot and then toddler bed. Boyish design was perfect, but still sturdy. Price was exceptional, as I got mine on clearance with mattress included for $370. The stabilising bolts were missing, which I didn't realise until purchasing the second Kingparrot cot. Customer service was… Read more

wonderful though, supplying and posting the bolts for free within a week of my phone call. The base is a bit larger than standard, and the Kingparrot mattress only standard size. This means that it moves around a bit once the sides are off for a toddler bed, but if you put the toddler rails on, that may not happen. design, inexpensive price, sturdy construction, great customer service slightly larger than standard base size

Excellent – Would definitely recommend. I did a lot of research before choosing this cot and a year later I'm am still very pleased with the purchase. Looks great in the nursery and now thinking of buying the under draw for storage. Very stylish, sturdy and easy to assemble. Especially love that you can lower the rail with one hand, very useful when holding a sleeping baby! Pricey but worth it as it's safe and good quality

Excellent – Good quality. A bit pricey but worth it for the safety/security of my child. I used it for over 2 years without fuss and sold it for a fairly good return (considering the teeth marks). Easy to assemble, sturdy and had two heights for newborn/ older baby. Nice colours, good quality materials. The one hand rail was easy to use. I never… Read more

used the toddler bed setting but thought it was great as an option None really except it seemed very tasty and we ended up with lots of teeth marks.

Needed to buy a bigger than standard sized mattress but they are easy to find.

Good – Great cot for a good price ours was on special with the mattress and changetable for about $700 I think...easy to use, safe, flexible. Looks great in the nursery. Good value. Easy to assemble. One hand and a knee to operate the side which has no metal nasty bits on the sides for little fingers to get stuck in or cut by. Can be set with the… Read more

mattress higher for newborns, then lower when they get mobile, then take the sides off to make a toddler bed later so great value for the price. We got the matching changetable which is also great. Previously mentioned soft wood - we just used a washer under the grippy bit of the mobile to stop it gouging the wood. Bub hasn't started chewing on it yet so we'll see how that goes, we have a stained one not a painted one, I'd be a bit worried about flaking paint and would be asking the manufacturers if that is meant to happen!!

Excellent – I love this cot...its such a simple elegant design without being too over the top. My one and only problem is the wood/paint issue...could perhaps be a bit more hardwearing. But otherwise great quality. Great looking, reasonable price, 2 height levels, sliding side which can be operated one-handed. As mentioned previously, wood is quite… Read more

soft...we had the same problem attaching a mobile. Also paint is very easily chipped off when child bites sides.

Good – It is a great cot for the price, a simple design which is exactly what one needs for a cot. Only downside is that the wood is quite soft, when we tried to attach a mobile it left marks on the wood. Must buy rail guards before baby starts to stand and bites all over the side rails! Also I have had no problems with sliding the rail, I can do it… Read more

without waking bub if I do it very gently, and my bub is quite a light sleeper. A nice, classic, simple design. It is very sturdy, made with quality wood. Mattress can sit at two levels and side rails can be taken off. Wood is quite soft and easily scratched.

Excellent – This is a good quality and attractive cot, I would highly recommend it. I also have the matching 4 drawer chest and change table which are also great. Nice colour (heritage teak), easy to assemble, sturdy, easy to use drop side with one hand, can convert to a bed, mattress can sit at 2 levels, simple design, meets Australian standards. I did… Read more

have trouble trying to silently raise and lower the side rail when I put my sleeping baby in the cot. After a few months though I have worked out how to do this better (and after some use the mechanism is smoother) so this isn't really a problem any more.

Excellent – We are very happy with our cot so far and it looks great in the room with the matching dresser with change table on top. Don't know what people are talking about saying it doesn't fit standard sheets as it most certainly does. Assembly was a breeze, and its not too heavy if you need to move it around the room (we don't have it on castors). I… Read more

didn't want a Boori as they're just too expensive (and for what I ask?!) and they're bigger than standard, so this was a good compromise. Simple and stylish, nothing fancy which is exactly what I liked. Very easy to put together, only took us about 15 mins. Drop side sticks a little sometimes, but this is probably more due to our assembly rather than a fault with the cot!

Excellent – I got this cot on sale and continue to see it on sale so if you can try and hold out for a sale. Very sturdy and extremely easy to put together.

Excellent – A great cot that I would recommend to anyone who isn't prepared to pay $1000 plus for a quality cot. Looks great too. This is a wonderful cot for a great price. It is very easy to put together if you follow the instructions and it is very stable. Some cots we looked at moved around way too much and didn't feel safe. It fits a standard size… Read more

mattress and you don't have to worry about finding different size sheets to suit. The guard rail can be a bit tough to move at first, but after a while it gets easier. I'd suggest leaving it down until your baby is big enough to worry about having it up, then move it up and down.

Excellent – I found this cot looks great, is well-built and sturdy. It is very well-priced and was easy to put together. It's made by Boori, so that gave me pieve of mind as they have a good reputation. A very reasonably priced cot, which is made by the same company that makes Boori (which I found to be over priced and not very different to King Parrot) The… Read more

colour is great and I was able to easily match it to other furniture. I love that it converts to a toddler bed as well. It fits a standard sized matress and sheets were easy to find at Big W.

Terrible – This product really is a piece of junk. I am waiting for my cordless drill to charge so I can re-drill the sunk holes to their correct depth so I can fix the base to the sides. The product is unsafe because it is possible to assemble the cot thinking the base is fixed to the ends when that is not the case. This could lead to a tragic accident.… Read more

None so far. It doesn't fit together properly. Unable to assemble without resorting to use of power tools and knowledge of carpentry!! This is a piece of unsafe junk!!!

Excellent – Excellent product, would definitely recommend this to anyone. Standard mattress size so there us no need to buy larger sheets. Great size, easy to lower the level of the base when the child can stand, excellent one handed drop side. Easy to assemble if you read the instructions. I also like the flat top so you can rest bottles etc on them.

Excellent – We got this cot because the Boori ones seemed ridiculously expensive. We chose the white for versatility and got a chest of drawers and bookshelf from Ikea that look great with this cot. My son plays in his cot happily. A friend of mine bought two of them as she has twins. I would recommend this cot to anyone! Looks really nice and will… Read more

continue to do so when turned into a junior bed. Easy to match other furniture to it. Regular cot sheets fit the mattress. Side mechanism very easy to use, especially when you are also holding a squirming baby :)

Excellent – Fantastic buying. We recommend the KP range to all our expecting friends. Because it's made by Boori its great quality and style, but much better value. It also means there is a broader range available in matching colours, for instance we liked the Boori toybox better than the KP and so got that in the same stain. We also have the matching KP… Read more

drawers, 3 tier change table and bookshelf. KP Scout is a lovely cot. The colour is great, it's made from eco produced timber with no nasty chemicals. The mattress is standard size, so cheaper sheets fit. The side is really easy to get down. The lower position is also great, and really strong - I can get in the cot with our 18 month old without issue. I also like that it turns into a junior bed, so we'll get really good use from it. KP/Boori no longer sell their stains in stores so you can touch up after an incident with a teething baby biting the ends (very quietly) on a few occassions. Also took ages to arrive when we ordered it initially. And the under cot storage drawer was only available by Boori and so was a bit more expensive.

Good – We are really happy with our King Parrot Scout purchase. We also got the matching chest of drawers with the change table on top and are really happy with that as well. We haven't dropped the matress to the lower position yet so can't comment on using the cot from that perspective, but our newborn went into this cot from the time we brought her… Read more

home and it has been fantastic. Nice design, comes with matching nursery furniture, side rail easy to use, base has multiple positions. You have to buy the more expensive king parrot matress - many of the cheaper branded matresses don't fit.

Excellent – I was looking for a bed and matching chest of draws and this is the perfect choice! It comes with good mattress, has adjustable base for newborn and older baby. Easily convertible in toddler bed so can be used for a longer period of time. I think it is good investment of money. I will definitely recommend it to anyone. I like quality, look and… Read more

Good – King Parrot is made by Boori and is their equivalent 'homebrand' product - i.e. cheaper price but the quality is just as good ... but no Boori badging. Great cot - range of colours and designs, castors on each leg (great when you want to move it to vacuum under!). Each style has a whole range of complimentary items like change tables, book… Read more
