Great for 3 people, or 2 people who like large meals – I have used a 2.2L Air Fryer for over a year and found it great, but was rather small for 3 people. It was egg shaped, as is the Kitchen Chef HF-196. The 2.2L rated 1500 watts, the new 5.5L 1800. I set it on 160C when using the recipe book for the 2.2L (@ 200C) as the 5.5L cooks so fast. Great cooking results - and the teflon seems thick: no… Read more
sticking - the basket is large but needs angling down for the first 3cm when first pushing it in , and then angling it up to push it in the rest of the way. This takes a bit getting used to as you might think there is something wrong with your Air Fryer - not so, just needs getting used to.
To get the holder and basket out you push the top white button, this slides forward and pushes against the cooker body. You can then pull the holder and basket out. It is good as the white button sits over the black basket release button, so you can't drop the basket (and food) out of the basket holder by accident.
It is very easy to clean - in fact most times I just wipe the basket inside and underneath with a paper kitchen towel.
I liked it so much I bought another for my brother-in-law for Christmas.
Best appliance I have – This is a very good, solid, reliable Air Fryer and for a budget price. Cooks just as well as the one that's 3x the price and without all the smoking, and mechanical failures and the nonstick peeling issues. The kitchen Chef 3.2 is easy to clean and operate. You can cook anything in it that can be cooked in your big oven or on the grill or BBQ. You… Read more
can use containers and baking tins that can go in your oven..anything that is oven proof like Silicone, Pyrex or Corning ware or non stick baking tins that will fit eg an 18cm springform pan will fit in the base on a trivet or metal egg ring to lift it a bit. . You are only limited by your imagination and what you can fit in there. I have found that you can even take out the basket and cook in the base giving you a much larger size to cook a larger roast of beef, lamb pork or chicken. The list of things that can be cooked in the airfryer is too long to list.. but just to say bacon is fantastic and done in a few minutes, toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches, Yum! Roasts, steaks, chops, sausages. Roast Veggies of all sorts..puddings, cake, omelette /frittata just to name a few. I have been really happy with the cooking results and that the Air fryer turns off by itself instead of burning stuff if you get sidetracked with something, The cost of running it is by far, less than a stove, as it takes less time to cook most things than it takes to even preheat your oven to temperature, so your done in no time at all. Doesn't heat up the Kitchen either, fantastic in summer here in Qld..I use mine every day so it stays out on my bench top and I dont have any issues with it just sitting on the benchtop (laminated) as someone posted previously .. I have had this air fryer for 9 months now and a Philips Viva for 2,1/2 years and neither have been any problem sitting directly on the bench top but if worried use a wooden or cork board to sit it on.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this Kitchen Chef 3.2L Air fryer.
In fact, I am so happy with this air fryer I bought both daughters one each. And they are both happy with theirs :)
3.2L version seems fine – We have had the Kitchen Chef 3.2L version of this for going on a month now finding it worthwhile. None of the problems previously mentioned with the 2.2L version are apparent. I understand that the 2.2L version has been updated anyway. On quality of output. We had a Prinetti Dry Fry prior to this which to my taste did better chips (but not much… Read more
else.) I assume that would be at a higher electricity cost. That failed at end of Warranty and naturally we are no where near that with this one but build quality does look decent with this. Food-wise we get better results with other than chips in this unit. Many food items seem just as good handled this way as in many other ways, perhaps technically better health-wise (and energy wise.) Sometimes for those items where we are used to a more 'golden' finish colour we remove from the Air Fryer at 95% completion and give them a few minutes at full blast under the grille in 900 wide oven. This can be even better with a very light spray of oil before the oven with an atomiser. Especially when flavour enhancers (such as salt) are added these can end up indistinguishable from traditional deep fried foodstuffs.
The really good thing though is that our disgracefully chip-eager children are very happy with the output (without oil) from the unit and we can retire the deep frying routine which filled the gap between the Dry Fry and this Air Fry.
One thing, The 3.2L version for best result takes a small enough volume, unless used for single person meals I cannot see that it would be wise to get the 2.2L version. This seems especially pertinent when the overall large unit size is the same an the 3.2 version can be bought down to about $90 so that there could not be a lot of advantage left in the 2.2L version.
Stars are a bit premature given only a month of use but those given above reflect taste-80%, Size-75%, build quality (part unknown) - 70%, convenience - 90%, related documentation - 50%, Ease of use and cleaning - 90%, Cost effectiveness - 90%, Assumed energy efficient - 90%. Not a bad result at all and another year of use may see me adjust the rating up if the rate of familiarity and use continues.

Great product! – Has been pretty good we have had one for the past few years and has been a great change from oven and frypan cooking. I highly recommend buying one as it is a huge time saver and makes the food taste very very very very very very very extremely good Show details
Not a bad little machine – Easy to clean & store, i found that when cooking large amounts of chips it does tend to dry them out a little bit so you are best off cooking smaller amounts at the one time in order for it to reach it's full potential. Highly recommended product A++ buy one ;) Show details
Better Than Philips – I've had this for about 12 months and use it several times a week. Cooks and reheats such a wide variety of foods quickly. Easy to clean and still looks as good as new. Unlike the Philips Air Fryer I had, the interior of the bucket hasn't peeled. A shame this air fryer is not longer sold in Australia Show details

Non stick peeling – Non stick surface peeling on basket and in base. Would not buy again despite affordability Cooks ok, Philips better at cooking Had a Philips lasted well but finally died. Would go back to Philips even though priced more Love cooking with an air fryer will save up for another Philips Show details
BEWARE: non stick coating is not! – I purchased an air fryer and used it religiously for 3 months and was so happy with the product UNTIL. .....the non stick surface started coming off the basket and tray. The surface was coming off in large pieces and then became totally unusable. Not very healthy for our health! Show details
Good for us – This is large and difficult to find a storage place for it. It cooks very fast, it does get very hot on the bottom. If you open and pull out the drawer to check how the food is, it is difficult to put it back in to continue. Some foods come out nicely cooked I did find meat is not really suitable to cook in it as it seems to mummify it, bad choice of words but the only way to describe it. Show details

Great for cooking.. but – Love the way it cooks. I use it a lot for meat and chops but the basket is just sooo very hard to clean! Apart from that, I am very happy. Show details
6 year old Air Fryer still going strong – I bought this air fryer off ebay 6-7 years ago before the air fryers became a fad. I wanted a healthy alternative to cooking and thought i'd buy a cheap machine to test before thinking about the $400+ phillips machines at the time. Even though on the smaller side this machine has lasted all the years with use at least 4-5 times a week. The only… Read more
issue over time has been the basket is a little loose as you'd expect.
With a bigger family now, we have decided to upgrade to a bigger machine but this beauty will still be going strong at my parents house.
Well worth buying for all the extra accessories – This was an impolse buy and we chose this air fryer because it came with extra accesories such as a pot to put things into and cook including making baked cakes and we have even made mini pizza subs and garlic bread all in this unit and it's come out super nice Show details
Great value air fryer – I bought this as a cheap way to try out air fryers to see if I would use the appliance. I use it a lot and my kitchen chef is now a few years old and still going strong! I have recommended it to many people. It cooks so much quicker than using the oven. Great for reheating leftovers and frozen foods. It toasts up garlic bread in a few minutes. Great for anything you want to crispen up. I love it. Show details

Happy with this product – I use it for frying the chips, frozen foods, even crackling pork belly ( I don't like the smoke coming out of it though). My family like the crust formed by this airfryer. I use this for baking muffin and cake, it gives nice crusty at the top of the cake. Show details
Good air fryer – Didn't like the square draw on this model. Great cooker. Even cooking on most things. I found the teflon does come off after a few washes. Easy to clean. Easy to store. I recommend this for 1-2 people would be great for caravans. I found cooking chips wasn't that fantastic in larger batches. Show details
Amazing budget buy! – My partner and I bought this for ourselves for Christmas so we could be a bit healthier and it's actually amazing, especially for the price. We use it for everything to do with potato. We even mixed it up a bit and put sweet potato in it! It came out so well, we were very impressed. Show details
Great fryer – Love this air fryer makes great chips cooks chicken and fish quickly and evenly having the separate pot and wire rack makes it very versatile I use mine at least a few times a week Cooks very fast making it great for a fast meal and it is so easy to clean Show details
Good value for money – Bought this through a groupon sale. Great value for money compared to the brand names. As I never owned those models not sure how it performs compared to the big names but suits my needs just fine. Didn't really use their recipe book, just looked online for recipes. Great healthier alternative to deep frying. It doesn't have quite the same taste as true deep fry but comparable. Cleaning fairly straightforward. Overall pleased. Show details
Good price and works great – This product was far cheaper than others on the market yet the build quality seems the same and it does exactly the same job at air frying foods as other brands. It looks good in the kitchen and comes in a variety of colours. I would recommend this brand thus far. Show details
Quick & Easy – I quite satisfy with this product, is quick and easy to use. Is very quick to reheat and cook chips, much quicker than an oven. This fryer is perfect for family with children is easy to use and clean. We leave our fryer on the kitchen branch as we use it every day. Show details
Great performing budget air fryer – Always wanted an air fryer to fry frozen chips without spending too much. This air fryer has ticked both boxes and has been performing as well as the first day i used it. Recommend this air fryer if you are unsure on purchasing one and don't want to spend too much. Best Air Fryer – I love love love my air fryer, This is a product I couldn't live without I would recommend this product to anyone with a small busy family. Seriously air fryers will save u so much time and they are so convenient. This is is my most used appliance. I would be lost without it now.. the only down side is the coating has peeled off a bit but I use baking paper underneath all my food when cooking which helps. I wish I had bought one sooner. Excellent – Great value for money. I have found this appliance a very handy addition to my kitchen. Chips are crunchier. When I am in a hurry I don't have to wait for my oven to heat up. My 5.5 litre has a good amount of room on the inside. Glad I bought it. Show details
Great to start with but broke before 3 months old – Beware, Kitchen Chef 3.2 L shoddy workmanship but I suppose you should expect that with the price. The catch for the basket is too flimsy & with break which means your money down the drain. Air frying is fun but beware of the product so you can really enjoy it. Show details
Great item but with flaws – Decided to go with the 5.5L over the smaller model. Yes bigger is better, but this is one huge machine so make sure you have room to store. Most things take around 10 to 12 minutes to cook (Nuggets, Sausage Rolls, Chico Rolls). Now for the flaws: The unit puts out a lot of heat from the bottom, so the kitchen top will get very hot. You need to… Read more
lift the basket when inserting it into the unit, or it will get stuck.
The non stick coating will wear off in the middle of the pan, as the basket is designed to sits on the pan, causing it to rub.
Don't buy WHITE. I did, due to the heat, It has now started to go brown around the handle, as hot air escapes around the area.
Food does cook quick so you need to keep an eye on it. If you need to cook something, I look on the internet for recipes.
Great addition to my kitchen – The model is 2.6L but that wasn't an option above. I find it really easy to use for reheating but have also tried it out for cooking from scratch and it's great for that also. I leave it on the benchtop as I lack physical strength in my arms to put things away especially when I use them often. I think it cooks fast enough and it's ridiculously easy to clean, often only needing a wipe with the paper towel (both the underneath and the container) Show details
I bought this last month and is awesome machine – chips cook in 10 mins from frozen and steak takes 12 mins for med rare .. I have this machine and a phillips and for price this one is almost as good and less than a third of the price .. I bought this to use while my Phillips was in for repair , now I prefer this one for size .. Show details
Awesome love it – Love this Air fryer it is the best thing I have ever bought for my kitchen. Plus it looks good sitting on my kitchen bench...It cooks steak to perfection & lamb loin chops are yum ever since I have bought my Air fryer I never go out for Brekkie anymore just do it all at home now and the best part about it ...is no messy oil ...love it Show details
Horrible – This machine I sent back cause it would not cook as quick as they said it would. Do not waste your money as it takes quicker to cook in the oven than this air fryer. Did not like it one bit (takes 1 hour to cook chicken drumsticks, nearly an hour for chips and steak if I kept on cooking it in this airfryer it would have taken me 2 or more hours. Show details
Need help – Haven't used it yet but need help before I do. Can anyone help me with a recipe for a whole roasted chicken & a recipe for a roasted leg of lamb? What type of accessories are available for this model & can I order a recipe book on line? Thank you Krystyna Show details
perfect 10+++++++++++ – best invention in awhile will cook most anything non stick is great best chip cooker even woolworths chip are tops sells for $200 + + + got it for $79 on ebay no smoke just smells good just thing be take care not to touch the steel parts very hot Show details
dangerous to use – To me this is a very dangerous product. No matter how hard I push to ensure that the two pieces are securely clipped together, when I take them out of the air fryer they fall apart and I get burned. At the moment I have huge blister on my right foot from the hot bottom section fell.
Air fryer the best! – I have been using Euro chef Air fryer for a week now and Im so happy for it because it cooked well chicken nuggets and french fries for my family. I used it everyday as nuggets are favourite finger food of my toddler. Air fryer made me easy to fry without using any cooking oil at all and easy to clean , with its handle as well easy to hold without burning your hand, simple machine but the best , highly recommend.
Best Appliance Bought Lately – This is one of the best Kitchen appliances I have bought for a long time. So easy to do baking and hot air frying without much oil. In the hot summer time it does not heat up the whole kitchen, I have baked cakes, sweet pastries and more. The 3.2L size will do a whole chicken or small leg of lamb. The instruction book is helpful but there are a… Read more
