Do NOT buy this OVERPRICED cooker – Lid dose NOT seal. Seal falls off and as every review stated very difficult to get back on. Ridiculously slow cook times. Leg of lamb on high for 12 hrs and still not cooked through. Curried sausages takes 10hrs on high. Don't waste your money. Very disappointing for the price. I've had this cooker for 5 years now and am ready too throw it in the trash. Complete waste of time. Show details
Such a pity to write this review – Some 3 years ago, I made the decision to invest in my kitchen appliances and purchased Kitchenaid Products due to their reputation, 2 year warranty and quality. All 4 other products purchased were replaced during warranty period. This Slow Cooker: I had awful problems with the rubber seal which it seems many people did, so I was sent a new… Read more
seal and everything was great! Last week I got it out and cooked a delicious stew overnight ... it was then cleaned and I wanted to make some soup ... guess what, it would not turn on!!! Unfortunately, it was then out of warranty ... when I called Kitchenaid last week - too bad, but we can offer you a 10% discount on a new one? I'm sad that I have to write this review as I've always loved my Kitchenaid products but I'm not sure what's going on but everything I have bought from them has needed to be replaced ... or breaks down just outside of warranty... what's going on with them, does anyone know? Today I had to throw into the rubbish bin my slow cooker, which really breaks my heart as I hate waste ...
Come on Kitchenaid, you need to check what's happening with your products, I'm now reverting back to purchasing a Morphy Richards cheapie, as it really doesn't seem worth paying extra when the products breakdown ...
Totally useless! – The rubber seals on this unit are woeful in every respect! They not only fail to seal correctly but the main lid one falls off after every single usage and trying to refit it is a nightmare! I use paper clips to hold it in position while I struggle to get it back on, takes many, many attempts to do that! Got onto the dreadful support line who… Read more
told me it was a known defect and new one in the mail! Yeh, like they sent me the seals for the two top glass covers.
Called back, got a new lid seal, identical problem!
Have to bin a perfectly working cooker because of a 50c rubber seal and poor design.
Breville for me from now on!

Extremely dissapointing – Just used our new Kitchenaid Artisan Slow Cooker for the first time and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The lid doesn't seal and leaves a permanent gap that lets the heat out, and the seal slips off and takes forever to try to reattach. The product looks good like all Kitchenaid products do, but this item does not even go close to… Read more
doing what it is intended to do. Come on Kitchenaid, as a loyal long time customer of your products, when you purchase something from you I expect a quality item, not cheap garbage like this.

We are talking a slow cooker – I love my KitchenAid slow cooker but it is a very SLOW cooker. I own a few slow cookers and some cook fast and some are slow, this is the slowest. I like that I can leave this cooker on overnight or all day and my meal won't be boiled to death or undercooked. Yes it does take longer but you adjust for that. I find if you cook on High for an… Read more
hour or two and then turn down to Low and forget about it, it does the job really well.
I have not had any problems with seals or error codes and I have owned it for about three years.
I Love that you can open just one half of the lid if needs be without the glass dripping liquid everywhere.
This cooker is really great for slow cooking bone broths which I then freeze to make soups in winter.
Stylish as are all my other KitchenAid appliances – I have been very happy with my slow cooker until today! The digital display isn’t working and so is impossible to read. Has this happened to anyone else? I can’t set the cooking time so it’s now useless. I really expected better from a KitchenAid appliance. Will need to purchase another cooker not with a digital display though unless I am able to purchase a new display part from KitchenAid. Show details
Fantastic – My first meal was a whole chicken. Cooked on low over 9 hours. The chicken was cooked to perfection, in fact the meat was so tender and it was so delicious. I love this slow cooker. I can’t wait to cook more meals. So very easy to use. Highly Recommeded. Show details · 2

Not good – Have persisted with this for over 2 years now...probably used it a dozen times, piece of rubbish. Could’ve spent half and got a unit that worked. Every meal is under cooked on high for 8 hours....... Design is crap, unit is crap, just crap......steer clear of this unit!!! Show details
Seals are terrible. Makes for a very slooooow cook – We thought we were upgrading our slow cooker when we purchased the Kitchenaid. We previously had a Breville which was about 1/3 the cost. This slow cooker is incredibly slow, for example, what usually took 6hrs was talking over double the time. It appears that the seals on the lid aren’t good. I’ve noticed massive gaps on the lid which probably… Read more
explains why it takes so long to cook. We are cooking a ham hock soup today and seriously hoping that it will be cooked within 9 hrs. I’ve added electrical tape to tape down the lid... not what you expect from a premium brand. Unfortunately this is a fail. Don’t waste your money.
Oh dear KitchenAid! – It's now taken 12 hours to badly cook some Lamb Shanks. The lid seal just has open gaps letting any heat escape! I can see the food through the gaps. It's never going to get hot in there. Ive had it a day and its destined for the dustbin. Please don't buy one. Show details

The worst slow cooker I have ever bought – So disappointed in this slow cook. I have used it twice I couldn't afford another under cooked meal. 8 plus hours and still not cooked. This slow cooked should be recalled not fit for what it is designed for. The lid doesn't seal. The rubber comes off. I'm not alone in this description. Bought mine from David Jones. Show details
Put it down and walk away – I have many K/A products – all of which are stylish and helpful and work to the extent they say they will do – the toaster toasts, the kettle boils water, the hand mixer does all it needs to do, and the food mixer mixes. It was on this basis that, when I needed to replace my slow cooker, I sought out and purchased a K/A one. Unfortunately I did… Read more
not read the online reviews. If I had done so I may still have purchased it, but I would have been warned that doing so was a mistake. So: Week one of purchase I decide to do my Osso Buco recipe that has stood me in good stead for over 15 years (people rave about the melt in your mouth deliciousness of it, years later) – in my previous Sunbeam, all cooked and melt in your mouth within 7 hours on medium – - After 8 hours on medium, the carrots were still hard, the onion had not even started to go transparent and the meat appeared to be close to raw.... - After another 2 hours on high.... carrots still hard, but at least the onion was starting to cook... - I had cheese sandwiches for dinner - The following day.... another 7 hours on high, medium and then low, the carrots had to be thrown out but the meat was doable, if a little leather-like. Never one to blame my tools, I read the reviews, and noted that when any other product say 8 hours on low, K/A needs at least 10 hours on high.... and tried again - I nearly fully cooked the meat and vegetables in the pre-slow cook sear in a pan (something I have never done before in my slow cooking career) - After 6 hours on high, I moved it to medium - After another 4 hours the meat was still hard and NOT melt in my mouth - I nearly gagged on the rock hard carrots - The onions were translucent but otherwise raw - The mushrooms had become hard pellets of tooth cracking flavour - The gravy had worked well, but only because I know how to put a gravy together so it is tasty and rich - I had dinner of mashed potato and gravy - a further 7 hours the following day worked on high, then medium and then low and I achieved cooked meat... Now I know, because I have been cooking as an adult for a very long time that a good slow cooker: - Cooks a meal, even slowly, more quickly than over two days - Has a seal around the lid of the casserole dish and the lid so the heat can’t escape - Has a seal on the lid that doesn’t fall off at every opportunity
I purchased my Slow Cooker on 14 June 2020 – I am very disappointed - it has become a door stop because K/A has not responded to my concerns.
I have to also express my disappointment that I was not able to register the product on the Kitchen Aid website without agreeing to receive newsletters from KitchenAid. Needed to register product, but not happy that it was then my responsibility to unsubscribe from what I fully expect to be a torrent of emails inviting me to buy products I neither want or need....
I emailed the "enquiries" email address on three occasions - during which I received a helpful email from the newsletter with some delicious slow cooker recipes.... but no response from "enquiries".
Don't want to be a Karen but not good enough Kitchen Aid!!
Terrible slow cooker and waste of money – I have the same problem as everyone else who has left comments. An expensive item that just doesn't work properly. The lid does not fit and there are big gaps letting the heat escape. Vegetables not cooked after eight hours and meat chewy and horrible. I've tried various settings but it doesn't make a difference. I gave away a cheaper slow cooker… Read more
that worked fine because I needed something bigger and thought the kitchenaid brand was good quality. A friend picked up a second hand retro cooker at an opp shop that works better then this one. Such a disappointment and waste of money!

Worst ever slow cooker – I wish Id read the reviews before my purchase. I spent over $200 replacing my $30 20yo cooker that I dropped and broke. My first dish was cooked on medium for 8 hrs. Potatoes and carrots still hard. Second attempt 8 hrs on high...... couldn't even get a slow simmer. After reading reviews about the Ill fitting lid I sealed the whole lid with food… Read more
grade silicone.... still no good. Called customer service. Very helpful said unit element must be faulty as she claimed to own same model and no problems. Kindly sent me a new replacement. Exactly the same. So disappointed as this was very expensive. Only got 1 star because it looks good. Shame it doesnt work. Tried last week to cook curry. Cooked for 13 hrs on high. Still vegetables not cooked. Also when the rubber seal on the lid comes off after washing be prepared for 30 min to reinstall with some extra hands. I have to now do a small section and use gaffer tape every 15cm then carefully remove tape. Come on Kitchenaid get your act together Ive given up on it. How about sending out new lids without useless poor fitting opening flaps.
KitchenAid does NOT mean quality - failed in 18 months – This cooker was purchased as a KitchenAid thinking it would be quality. Big mistake - a very expensive item but got the error code E1 and stopped working within 18 months.

Worst product on the market! – Worst slow cooker on the market! Use your money elsewhere. I purchased this product over others based on the good name of KitchenAid. It is a huge disappointment. I don't even use it as it turns expensive cuts of meat into a chewy, dry waste of time and money. I have tried several of my favourite slow cooker recipes and they have all failed… Read more
miserably. Customer service was also hugely disappointing as I was told that my experience is not valid because the BIG gaps in the lid are meant to be there. There are many more reviews similar to mine.
Slow is an understatement – Haven’t used this appliance a lot but the fact that the lid does not seal and the heat escapes makes it next to useless. At medium heat it doesn’t cook a roast through in six hours. Also getting the seal back on the lid requires and extra arm. Show details

Display function not working – Sadly I have been disappointed with my slow cooker. As a family that all use Kitchen Aid products this purchase has not been one of my best. The bowl needed replacing because of a fault when I brought it home from the shop. As it is used primarily in winter I forgot to advise Kitchen Aid that the digital display screen didn’t work and when I… Read more
finally rang, it was out of warranty. The extra function that I thought would be great to use if needed hasn’t worked and It continues to irritate both my husband, a fantastic cook, and me. Just thought I would write this review to ensure that warranty dates are adhered to and not forgotten as I did and now I have to look at the cooker and its broken display every winter.
Yikes this is bad – Apart from taking a decade to cook anything the quality of the product is subpar. Takes two people just to put the rubber lid gasket on.... which pops off soon after. Would recommend not buying this. Instead look for something with better quality and cooking reviews. Have ruined quite a few cuts of meat with this cooker. Show details
Returned After Opening – We replaced 25 year old Sunbeam Crockpot with this KitchenAid appliance. Very disappointing to open the box of a favoured brand with seal coming away from lid and the lid did not seal. Noticeable gaps between twin lids. Upon investigation online, found that this was a common problem. Returned and replaced with another brand. Will review other brand - no noticeable problems at this stage. Show details
Takes twice as long to cook as any recipe says – This has been such a frustrating appliance, which means I often end up using another method of cooking. Every time we’ve used it, we have ended up needing to cook for hours longer than the recipe says, no matter which setting it’s on. So many disappointing nights of last minute dinner changes when the meat that’s been cooking for hours is still… Read more
tough. As others have mentioned, the lid sits up right off the bowl so a lot of heat would have to be escaping. I bought this because of the ceramic bowl because I don’t want to use Teflon, so I’m really disappointed we’ve paid a lot for a dust-collecting appliance that takes up precious kitchen space.
Looks good, but that's where it ends – I purchased this item expecting it to be a quality item, but unfortunately it's not. The lid does not seal as it should, which allows the heat to escape through the gaps between the dreadful rubber seal and liner. I've persevered with it, for about twelve months, but have never been happy with the cooking results. The item looks great and the… Read more
liner is easy to clean, but today the high and medium heat buttons have failed to operate, rendering it almost useless. The rubbish bin is about to become its new home. Very disappointed.

Looking for a better product – Seal comes off too easily and is a nightmare to replace. Also... the appliance just does not get hot enough, which has led to a couple of disappointing results. Surprised, because I have a kitchen full of Kitchen Aid appliances, and they are fantastic. This one... not so great :( Show details
Lid is very loose and therefore does not cook well at all !!!! – I loved the look of this cooker and the fact it had a ceramic bowl. But I have tried to be patient with it and used it a few times. The lid is a really bad design with the clips on the side the glass does not seal !! Therefore it affects: * cooking time * uneven cooking food * display has also just failed Surely Kitchen Aid you can come… Read more
up with a better lid option . Being it is a great cooker base.
I have just had a few items from Kitchen Aid recalled and replace. And this is just another item .I have emailed today and will wait a hopefully quick response.
I would not purchase this item.
Kym.... Sunshine Coast.
Not happy :( – My husband purchased me this slow cooker but like some other dissatisfied customers on here i found the lid will not seal properly and let's too much heat out, surely by now kitchenaid has come up with a proper simple glass lid for this product. If it only kept the heat in it would be a great slow cooker. Show details
It's a love/hate relationship – Initially I was very frustrated with the performance of this experience slow cooker. I wanted to be able to fill it up to the 'maximum' line with veggies and a 700g-1.2kg cut of meat and have it ready within 4-6hr. This did not work, even after 8hours on high the chunks of carrots were still hard and meat mostly raw. I've since learnt that I can… Read more
make very nice food BUT. It has to cook for closer to 10-12hours. So if you turn it on at 7:30am then it should be ready by dinner. I now turn it on the night before. I really don't like the lid and I hate washing it. I also found that there is no difference between low and high temperature settings as the temperature of food remains at about 80-90° regardless of what setting you choose. The ceramic bowl is heavy but I love that it's not Teflon!
Lid doesnt seal 100% & glaze on pot cracked. Terrible customer service – Not happy with the product or customer service when I tried to fix the issue. The glaze on the pot cracked which led to mould growth (after washing, as I couldn't dry it properly). The pot was washed as per the instructions, I took care of it as it was a expensive item. Took 5 weeks to get an answer from KitchenAid & when I did they agreed to… Read more
replace one part (after I had thrown the rest out). Whole process was rediculous (many emails back and forth) and to make it worse, I got so much attitude from the customer service agent. So disappointing.
Don't buy! Waste of money! – I am completely dissatisfied with this product. The lid doesn't seal properly so I got it replaced under warranty, but I still had the same issue, so Kitchenaid sent me a different lid, a single glass one without the two panels, which they don't retail. The lid now seals better but I still find the slow cooker is too weak. Even on a high setting… Read more
and after cooking for 6+ hours, my hard vegetables do not come out soft and tender like they did in my old slow cooker. I'm now going to replace it with another brand. Kitchenaid, you need to bring out a new product as this one is very very poor!!
Lid – Only had for a few weeks used twice. Lid doesn’t seal at all. And all the heat escapes while cooking have read more about it now and it seems to be a problem . This is my 5 th kitchen aid appliance but the only one I’m disappointed in . Hop there is a solution . Show details

Functional and inexpensive – I like this product, it cooks perfectly well every time. Heat distribution is even and nothing sticks to the bottom. The size is perfect for a family of 4. I wish the Kitchen Aid would have come with more recopies which are designed just for it, however, I am trying to find some online. What is noticed, it is very versatile and will be used often. lid letting out too much heat – I had the same experience with the lid letting out too much heat. Solved it by putting a layer of baking paper under the lid whilst cooker is in use. Unfortunately you can't see the food in the cooker unless you remove the paper but good results otherwise. Have found all other features of slow cooker up to standard. Show details

Stylish and functional – We just purchased our KitchenAid slow cooker and could not wait to try my favourite - slow cooked lamb shanks. The unit itself is stylish and very sleek looking but more importantly very simple to use. The meat fell off the bone it was really delicious. Also the ceramic bowl was very easy to clean. Highly recommend. Show details · 2
Terrible product – I'm so disappointed with this product. The lid isn't sealed so cooking time is so much longer and cooking roasts, shanks and larger cuts of meats is almost impossible.
