Not a good product for brand reputation – Possibly the worst toaster I’ve ever had. Inconsistent toasting, burning, pop mechanism not functional after 2 years. I get a better toast on the bread from our sandwich press. Show details

So much trouble to toast – We got our KitchenAid toaster a long time ago now, but despite following guides and tips, we've never been able to get this toaster to work reliably. We bought it for the brand because KitchenAid is usually a high quality premium brand, but this toaster is far from it. Burns toast on the edge constantly and nothing we can do has fixed the… Read more

problem. Due to the expense of this toaster, we kept it and tried to work with it but after over a year of burnt toast, we are done.

It is set to the lowest setting and burns on the edges.

Do yourself a favour DON’T – Do yourself a favour DON’T buy this toaster. I wish I had read the reviews on this product before purchase. Love this toaster – This toaster is smart and stylish as well as having great features. Love the long slot, very versatile for the many artisan breads available. Defrost works well, and bread toasts evenly in toast mode.. dry happy with my purchase. Show details

If It’s All About The Decor – A lot of money for a toaster. Looks great. We have found a suitable browning setting, and it seems pretty quick ( They say red ones go fast). It does have a bell which “dings” when your toast is done. Bear this in mind if you are up early and other light sleepers in your household are still sleeping. I was surprised to discover despite the price… Read more ·  1

it does not have cool to touch external surfaces. The ejector works well - you won’t have your toast being launched across the kitchen. Long slots allow larger and odd shaped slices of bread to be toasted. The controls are well placed, easy to see and the browning knob has 6 “click” settings, not a dial with infinite settings. Crumb tray removes easily - a little push has it springing out a little so it is easy to extract and replace. The long slots are wide enough for your “Texas Toast” and despite not having used the crumpet setting yet, I note the diagram atop the toaster adjacent to the slots which reminds you to put the crumpets in with holes towards the centre. The toaster feels pretty solid. Still can’t believe we paid so much for a toaster. Looks as though all toasters are Made in China. Pretty happy with this one but have only had it about 3 weeks.

Worst Ever Toaster – This toaster doesn't toast. It either has no effect on the bread or it burns, especially around the crust. I've tried multiple settings, but nothing works. I bought directly from Kitchenaid and it's the worst kitchen appliance I've ever bought. Show details

Worse toaster for the money – Had this toaster 20 months and lever won’t stay down. The most expensive toaster I ever owned and lasted the least longest. I also purchased 15 other Kitchen aid products including appliances and will never again. Had them all under 2 years and most beginning to cause issues or flat out stopped working. Cheaper models last and work so much better than kitchen aid, that will be the last thing I ever buy with their name on it Show details

Poor quality at a high price – Had to bring this toaster back to the store after minimal use as the lever on the side failed to work. The lever was still going down however would not stay in the downwards position to start toasting the bread. We had to either hold the lever down or place something heavy on top to keep it down. Toaster had not been in use very long. Also doesn't… Read more

toast the bread evenly. Disappointed as Kitchen Aid is a well reputed brand and this toaster was rather expensive. The toaster was still under warranty when I returned it but after waiting months on a replacement, I was told there are no replacements for this model but there were many faulty returned ones at the depot instead. I ended up getting my money back and buying another brand.

Made a meal out of our toast, not in a good way – No matter which bread or how thick the slices, the edges burn every time while the middle stays untoasted. We've tried each setting and this happens if you have it on a low or high number, it just doesn't toast evenly at all. Very disappointed as we thought this would be a reliable brand, especially at this price point. Show details

Extremely disappointed! – Extremely disappointed! I received this toaster and the matching Kettle (KEK1722AAC) through Flybuys using points as well as cash in July 2018. The kettle was the first to disappoint with the button on the lid which stopped working; we have to push button down and use another finger to lift lid as it won't pop up on it's own. not toast evenly, and now, just this morning stopped working midway through toasting, it even stopped 2 of my power points from working. My husband is an Electrician and tested the power points and there were no issues with the power points. Reduce the price as it is not worth the money or, better yet, just discontinue making these products. I adjusted the toaster according to the bread I used eg. wholemeal bread and Bill's organic sourdough bread loaf. How do I get a refund?

Don't be fooled by its good looks – Fell in love with its beautiful streamlined looks! But that's all its good for - just looking at! does not cook the back side at all. It seems that on the "crumpet" setting the outer filaments of the toaster do not light up, so it only toasts the front of the crumpet - the bit with the holes. I almost cried when I had to take it back for a refund as it looked so pretty on my bench.

The absolute worst toaster experience of my entire existence as a human – I'm writing this at 10am on a Sunday morning, when all I want is a nice piece of toast on a relaxing day. money that you invest in a product such as this, you'd expect the Rolls Royce of toasters. Instead you have a terrible (made in China) toaster that cooks unevenly and requires multiple toasts at low temperature, while you stand there monitoring. You need to time it yourself otherwise it burns. Just awful and not fit for purpose. I do not believe that this is a faulty unit as I've now read plenty of other reviews echoing same sentiment. I will take this back to Good Guys for a refund. KitchenAid - be ashamed of this product, considering my wife loves your brand and we have other high end products that are loved in our kitchen. DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN AID TOASTER. You have been warned. Now also just read that Choice gave this product a Shonky Award. I should have researched first but TRUSTED this brand. End Rant.

End of kitchenaid in my kitchen – The toaster was perfect untill it would not stay down. The warranty was gone so I've decided to check what was the problem. When i opened it, the trouble was easy to find ; a little piece of plastic made gets hot when it gets hot and it wont stay down. I thought a toaster at this price would be better made. Its VERY cheap made inside. Why would a 70' toaster last 20 years and now we pay a fortune and it barely can last the warranty limit.  Show details

Good brand; disappointing product – We bought this toaster about a week ago from The Good Guys and will be returning it - it burns the toast, especially the crusts. Don’t waste your money – Incredibly disappointed in this toaster. Costs a fortune and regardless of what type of bread we use or how thin or thickly sliced, it reliably burns the crusts and leaves the bread completely untoasted. Hopeless - Burns toast – Instead of purchasing a cheaper toaster, we decided on the KitchenAid due to brand reputation. on the middle setting. Dropping down settings works initially, but if you need to toast more, it will burn the second, and third round of toast black - dare for round four and you will be calling the fire brigade. Please do yourself a favour and skip this appliance. We have no confidence in the KitchenAid brand and will not consider it in the future. A toaster really is such a low-tech kitchen appliance that has been around for decades. Who knows what's going on in the research and development arm of KitchenAid. They are having a laugh at the consumer's expense.

C'mon Kitchenaid you're better than this – There is not enough gradation between the cooking settings. 2 is undercooked, 3 is burnt. Even worse with crumpets. It burns the outside edge, but leaves the centre untouched. I've had a Standmixer for 11 year-end its great, which is why I thought I could trust the brand with a toaster. If I could rate less than 1 star I would – The toaster looked great had some good functions, the most important function of a toaster it failed, that is to provide toast that is toasted reasonably evenly on both sides not black and tan. crumpet setting but then i looked on product review.

Imagine my surprise when i discovered that KitchenAid have continued to sell a product that has performed in the same way since the first review almost 2 years ago in July 2016.

I did not read a single review where the issue was resolved.

The inability to toast appears to be design fault.

I can't even imagine how many people out there have paid a high price to buy a product that is unfit for purpose and put up with it through embarrassment of paying so much.

This company is doing a great disservice to the brand name by continuing to sell this.

We will never buy another KitchenAid product after this experience.

Couldn't give it zero stars. had to give it one star - that can be for the amazing aesthetic design of this product (it cannot be called a toaster).

The Good Guys to their credit issued a full refund.

Disappointed is an understatement – This toaster is a pain. I only ever have it set on 2 as any higher just burns my toast, but only cooks on one side and leaves the other side soft. is still uncooked. You have to stand at the toaster to put it back in again and manually operate it to get the other side of the bread to brown meantime the patchy side goes black.
