Light and works fine however it is made of cheap hard plastic. The clips that join motor to vacuum bag broke not long after use. After 6 weeks it is held together with duct tape. Inexpensive but save your money.
A stick of genius – I have always maintained that corded vacs have greater suction than cordless and the anko stick vac has proven this to be correct / the suction and genius design make it as good if not better than any other on the.market today and as a pensioner who has had cordless vacs that rely on a spinning brush to do the work but end up throwing out more… Read more · 2
than they pick up and have to be continually charged this is the best value vac ever / I may buy a second one for a friend / on carpet or hard floor it excells/did I mention it's light too / great for my arthritus

You get what you pay for – This is a very cheap vacuum and for good reason. It doesn't suck up anything off my carpet and the part that attaches the head to the unit broke after the first use. Its not much better on tile. I made sure to use with a lot of care considering it was cheap, but with very little pressure the head attachment cracked. I have definitely learnt my lesson about buying appliances from Kmart. I bought it after seeing the good reviews on this website.... Show details

A Kmart $29 Anko Vacuum 600Watts - very handy! You would want to use it – Sept 2019 - Thanks to everyone who had reviewed this product, I went out & bought one too. I also gave it "5 stars" for the reasons below - ..... FYI - I noted from a previous review said her TOP START/STOP switch had stopped working(ie the switch that is on the extension handle had stopped working). I thought mine too BUT THEN I REALIZED I HAD… Read more
TO PUT THE BOTTOM SWITCH IN THE "OFF" POSITION in order for the Top Button to Work (this is because the bottom one is the "main" switch)... I think a very clever man/woman had designed this machine !!!!!!!
Pros - very light & easy & affordable - I can use it daily for my hallway! - cleaver design ( Like me, a lot of people probably did NOT read the instruction booklet. But my clever husband (just by looking at it) noted the hidden/attached "sharp suction part" used for the sucking the edges of the floor!!!! the bit which normally you have to attached separately to the end of the vacuum!!! but be careful once you have bend it backwards, you must push it in a little to lock it in, don't let it wobble.) HINT - press the bottom blue button & you will get a surprise!!!!! Cons - only for smaller area - all the cons to me are not really a problem. - small rubbish compartment, (if you vacuum it on Carpet, you must clean filter out straight away) - so I went out & bought another $29 one so I don't have to wait for the first filter to dry out :) :) - short electrical chord ( I just add an extension cable to it ) - haha - they should have put a picture with the attached "Sharp Sucking Parts" at the end of the Hand-Vacuum on the front of the Box!!!!!!!
Good for cat fur on hard floors – This stick corded vacuum (Kmart home&CO ST01) DOES have a HEPA filter and for $29 you can't complain unless there are unrealistic expectations. It picked up all the dust, crumbs and cat fur off our timber and tiled floors. Even though the suction gripped onto the short pile rugs it could not remove the fluff so it works well on hard floors but… Read more
not carpet when on the stick.
It is easy to empty and is about as noisy as most vacuums. I do worry if it will mark the timber floors with repeated use. No visible marks or scratches have occurred but to be on the safe side I stuck two small pieces of felt on the corners for added protection. I also use a short extension cord with it so two rooms can be vacuumed from the same power point.
I purchased this for daily fur removal as the broom tends to flick up dust and fur despite care to avoid this and I don't want to drag out our large vacuum every day for a quick go over. It will not replace a big vacuum but it's a very affordable way to try out a stick vacuum (even if it is corded) to see if this type will work for you before eventually committing to a much more expensive stick vacuum.
Have now had it for two months and so far am very happy with it. Even hubby will use it occasionally.
Great budget friendly option for "Light" cleaning – Have owned this for about 6 months now and am very happy with it. It's perfect for light cleaning around my apartment. Charges quickly, battery lasts enough time for me to go over the place once. It's obviously not going to perform and give a completely thorough clean like a Dyson or Hoover, but for $39 it's light and compact enough to tuck away… Read more
and grab when I need it, as opposed to lugging a heavy machine around. The hand attachment is also great for cleaning out the car. It's great as well that it's cordless, although this means you do have to make sure it's charged. Super surprised by this, I only bought it because my old dyson is so big and bulky and I hated lugging it around when I wanted just a quick vaccum (as a side note I would still recommend having one of these heavier duty vaccums to use to give a good clean) so I bought this to trial a stick option and figured I would splash out on the dyson version if I liked it (which is about $300). I'm so happy with this one that I'll just stick with it.
Kmart have a 12 month warranty on their items, so if you keep the receipt and anything goes wrong (I think with these kinds of vaccums the battery not charging is the most common issue) just take it back with proof of purchase and they will refund/return.
Positive reviews
The most perfect vacuum for a small home – Firstly great price! Surprisingly good suction for something this cheap! Super lightweight! Navigates well I’m tight areas! Works great in both hard floor and carpet! Small, so easy to store away! Easy to empty - don’t even need to purchase vacuum bags! Only downside, cord length could have been longer but for the price it’s a 10/10 product that I highly recommend. Show details · 1
1.5 kg vacuum – Very Light weight vacum. Amazing On wooden floors but sticks so much to carpet floors which makes it heavy on it. You need an extension cord to cover the whole house and you will never need a cordless vacuum. Show details · 1
surprising how good it is – hard to know what to expect for the price but it has been a useful tool at home. Light and easy to use. good for wood and tiles not great on carpet Show details · 1
Negative reviews
What positives? – I don’t understand the positive reviews, this was a piece of garbage. It got extremely hot and had no suction, even holding it directly over things on the floor. Useless on carpet and even on tiles it can only lift very loose dust. Show details

Packed in after ten minutes - one day after purchase – It was $39 in K Mart NZ. OK, it was cheap, but I'd expect more for the money - like maybe an hour? It's off now and cooling - I've left it switched on in vain hope it'll start again... otherwise I'm taking it back. I think overall the adage 'you pay for what you get' is most certainly true in this case. Show details

Simple little vacuum – Very simple little vacuum, good for space. It does its job for my small little apartment and great price. However if you're need more suction power suggest spending more. This little guy gets the job done and is great for my carpet and kitchen surfaces. Show details

Love it! – Just bought it around New Year this year. It actually worked very well on tiles and carpets. It was light and easy to handle for arthritis hands. And it could be stored in a little space. Really love it. But died yesterday and none is now in stock :( Show details · 1
Great value, light and easy to use – Excellent Value, light weight and good vacuum strength. I have NO TRUST in battery operated units and this one ticks all the boxes. Using this as a quick access light weight vac for flat kitchen floor. Have a separate vac for carpets. Show details
Great for cleaning and easy to use – I am happy to have this cheap vacuum but good performance using in hard floor. Even simple tiny things can easily sucked as well as some long hairs around in the house. It is so light to carry and easy to clean Show details
It's better than $299 vacuum that I got before – For its price, no complaints only compliments. It has good suction, I know some people would prefer cordless, but the cordless battery just not lasting long and doesn't have good suction after a while. So I'm pretty happy of this Kmart vacuum. A great little vacuum cleaner for small jobs in the house and for use in the car – A great little vacuum cleaner for small jobs in the house and for use in the car. I use it on carpet in the house and in the car. It's quick and powerful for small jobs anywhere. Good value for money. Show details · 1
29 bucks cheap as chips - a disposable vacuum! – Works well enough for me and when I need to head back to the other side of the continent I’ll happily gift it for its remaining life. Used it on hard floors and it picked up well enough and better again on carpet. It is really lightweight, sort of good for a vacuum, but it’s sort of made to break. Show details
For the price it works well – I use it upstairs on carpet. Works well for about 20 minutes and then you have to recharge. You can use it as a hand vacuum (detachable) for harder reaching places. Show details

I’m impressed! – Great suction on carpet. Crevice tool works well and is attached so you won’t lose it. Very impressed. Well worth spending the money. Very happy with the purchase. Have to empty it frequently. Show details
Great product, very powerful. Better than the expensive brands – A huge amount of power. Great handheld device. Can suck a sock into the tube instantly. I will never buy an expensive vacuum cleaner again. It is so cheap for what it can do. Show details
Not the best quality but great for the price – The vacuum strength isn't the highest and the cord tends to get tangled when you move around the house. If you need a very cheap vacuum cleaner this does the job. I use it mainly to vacuum my floors and bedroom, which are not carpeted. It's lightweight and can be easily dismantled for easy storage. Easy to clean as well. Show details
It does the job.... just – I use this vac to clean hard wood floors. It’s ok. Does the job enough. I bought it knowing it was not overly powerful so it works as expected. I would probably not buy it again. Show details
Another great product by Kmart – We have this for last 1.5 years, the product was purchased only to try it in our car as we need something small and easy to use. But we are using it everywhere in the house as well as car, and it works great in both the locations. obviously it is not dyson but certainly for $29 it is called bang for your buck ! A good value product by kmart. Show details
Do not get if you have tile or hardwood floors! – Unfortunately this vaccuum although good for the price works terribly on tile flooring. Would be fine for carpet but struggles to pick anything up on tiles. Good size for the price but unfortunately not good for hard flooring.
This is a great and cheap vacuum, only down fall I find it will not pick up well on tile floors – Great on carpet, not so great on my tile floor. Will not pick up the odd kitty litter that gets on tile floors. Does over heat quickly. Cheap and ok. Show details
This thing is bad – I have a mix of carpet with a rug and tiles, plus carpet in the bedrooms. This vacuum overheats all the time until it basically switches off. It's a pain. I'd use it and then ten minutes later it would switch off by itself because it was so hot and then I'd have to wait an hour or so to finish the vacuum job. It doesn't even really have great suction.
okay for a vacuum but i found out after 20 minutes use the motor get hot – carpet and wood floor, does the job but the motor gets hot after 20 minutes of using it.any one has the experiences after 20 or so minutes of use?good for the money Show details
Awesome vacuum – I brought this due to all the positive reviews and lm so glad l did , fantastic powerful little vacuum, works great on my wood floors and mats . I had a more expensive stick vacuum and the Kmart vacuum beats it hands down , highly recommended Show details
More Than Happy – I have a lot of tiles and small children dropping everything from pencil shavings to biscuit crumbs constantly on the floor. I also do craft using jute and coconut fibre which leaves a lot of fluff on the floor. This product is so handy and very effective in cleaning up the mess quickly and efficiently. For the small price it’s rather surprising how well it works. Carpet is a different story though, so would stick to your normal vac for that. Show details
Unreliable on off button on handle – Vacuum works well, off/on button loosens and it won’t keep going, 3 replacements within 12 month warranty, Kmart Tele warranty from original purchase, not from replacement. Button requires complete redesign. Show details
WHAT A BARGAIN – This vacuum was recommended to me by a family member and I love it. My small unit has both tiles and carpet and it works effectively on both (I dont have animals). It's light weight, easy to use and has a crevice tool neatly hidden in the bottom. An old toothbrush works great for cleaning the filter. The only negative for some users may be it's short electrical cord. Show details
