Super little machine. I love the light compact size, ease of cleaning and multi-use, yet with capacity for slow-cook family dinners. Mine has become my everday go-to! Congratulations K Mart for making this inexpensive, little gem available. Highly recommended!

Purchased this model Rice Cooker from KMart, Hastings, NZ, cost $55. So far I am thrilled with all the results, this includes, different types of Rice, Soups and Pasta dishes. When I make soups and I want to precook onions, I use the "Quick Cook" button just for the onions and then move on to the remaining ingrediants, finishing using "Soup". We have had Chicken dishes and Pasta dishes, all fabulous results. I have a recipe for Carrot Cake, which is my next thing to experiment! Easy to clean. I am careful not to use metal items to stir with. Really like the compact size, perfect for a couple. Carry handle is great for moving Cooker from cupboard to bench. I do store with the lid ajar, using the carry handle positioned at the front edge, to keep it open a couple of cm. Footnote: Made the Carrot Cake as mentioned above, a great success! Attached Photo.

Have just purchased this from Kmart for $55, the Anko 7 Cup Digital Rice Cooker First Impressions are good, have only used this 2 times so far cooking some basmati rice which took about 55 mins in the brown rice mode. I do like these newer compact designs with the controls on the top of the lid, the flat top design is simple and minimalistly elegant, although I do worry about the longevity of the electronics as the lid is the hottest part of the machine. Pros: 1. When the release button is pressed, appreciate that the spring loaded lid has a very nice gentle opening action. 2 The Reheat function is another feature that was not present on my expensive Korean Cuckoo Cons: There is no rice paddle holder on the body side (doesn't come with a rice paddle either), some rice cooker do have this feature and it helps to keep the kitchen top tidy, I have since fabricated one myself and used 2 sided tape and fitted it to the carry handle.

For these enticing budget priced products that sell for half the price (or less) than the major brands, I guess they do have to cut corners and use some lower quality components, especially things like a thinner aluminium bowl and non-stick coating durability, so I will update this initial review after a period of service.

Review Update 03 June 2026: Have been using this rice cooker for some 4 months now, about 3-4 times a week, other modes that I have used: cooking Sushi rice - good results, also used the Slow Cook mode (its very similar to the Soup mode), it makes a good stew. Some cons: 1. The bottom heating plate has a grooved surface, so if a few grains of cooked rice drops there when removing the bowl, the next cooking session will bake this hard into the groove and is then difficult to clean this off. 2. If for any reason you need to open the lid whilst it is part way through a cycle (for example to load something into the steaming rack) when closing the lid, it is very easy to touch the Cancel button !! After this happened a couple of times, I now close the lid from the left side. Also if you hit Cancel, you cannot go back to Keep Warm mode, but can overcome this by using the Reheat mode. But those are minor gripes, overall it works very well, not yet showing any signs of wear, and I would be happy to recommend this as an excellent purchase.

A fantastic compact and handy multi-purpose digital rice cooker! It cost me $49 only. I've been using it over a month for normal rice cooking, slow cooking, multigrain cooking, and reheating, all have worked very well, rice cook is beautiful and fluffy. Well done Kmart, thumbs up! The cooking time for white rice is about 35 to 40 minutes, multigrain is one hour so. If you cook white rice with other grains like brown and red rice together, the white rice will be too soft. I have other popular brands of rice cookers too. This Anko one stands out, no need to buy expensive brands really. It provides the accessories that I need, but the power cord is a bit short, I replace it with my another longer power cord.
