Clean the filters and roller every use for great suction – Great cheap product. You must empty the holder and ran the filters each time to maintain suction. Those commenting with poor function after a few months, check the manual, there's a filter clogged somewhere! Show details

Worked fine for a few months. Just got worse – Had this stick vac for just over a year. Worked great at first. Suction got worse even though it still sounds as if it has power. Now, it simply 'flicks' debris into the head. Once the vacuum is switched off, everything falls back out. This is a toy. Ok for dust and nothing else. I've read good reviews of this product but I guarantee, they'll change their rating in a few months. Show details

Ordinary – I bought this vac to use on our small area of carpet ( 4m x 4m and a couple of rugs) as I didn't want to be constantly dragging out the heavier vac. With the first use, I found it did the job and was so light and easy to use! Then, after just a few uses, the suction was horrible and the pipe part was clogging constantly down close to the… Read more

cleaning head - it didn't even get the dirt up to the collection container very often! Was pretty useless on any other surface, too (though I only tried occasionally). Now, there are only two semi-retired persons in our house with only a small area of carpet and the rest floor boards. We do not have any pets and we're not particularly messy so to have the vac not do it's job (couldn't even pick up cake crumbs after the grandies were here) was very annoying. Not only that, it now constantly spits everything back out after about 5 minutes of cleaning! (and yes, I DO clean/empty EVERY part of the machine EVERY time I use it - and that seems a bit like overkill). Very disappointed but in the end, I suppose you get what you pay for. :(

Priced as per performance – my 9 year old corded dyson died and i needed a quick replacement - not willing to part with the cash needed for a v10 yet, i purchased this at Kmart with flybuys money so not out of pocket at all. Coming from a corded unit with strong suction, at first this didn't seem to be sucking. As in, it doesn't have that 'lift-carpet' action. However I… Read more

think with the rotating brush inside the floor head 'beats' the dust out of the carpet and the suction then doesn't have to be as strong to suck it up. The small dust chamber filled with 'fluff'(carpet fluff and dust' very quickly, and I have to empty it twice on a twice weekly full house (100sqm) vac. We have carpet, shaggy rug, tiles and timber floor so have used it on the full spectrum of surfaces. The first few weeks, I still bought the industrial garage vac in to do a 'proper' clean - yet as I got used to the turbo head doing more of the work compared to straight up strong suction of the corded units, I've stopped that, as in a small house, the big vacuums really bang up the walls.

Suction noticeably dropped off recently and I had to run over the same piece of carpet repeatedly, and I thought I'd return it, but upon reading the instructions it said to empty the filter - well - that was CHOCK full of super fine dust - and once I'd banged that out (not washed) the suction and performance improved. I also need to remove the spinning floor brush and cut the tangled hair out of it after every vacuum. Yes its a bit annoying and time consuming, but the time saved from plugging in a corded unit and dragging it around is the trade off. It also does struggle to lift heavy debris, and when powering off, they can tend to fall back out the floor head of the unit.

In summary - it is fairly priced the performance of the unit. You get what you pay for.

Happy for now after Dyson DC59 died – I have had a Dyson DC59 for 4 years and had the brush bar, metal rod, power head and 2 battery replacements in that time. It did it's job and I was keen to purchase another, but thought they were over priced for what you pay for. I went to Godfreys and tried many handsticks in there, and the sales rep pushed me towards the Sauber for around $500.… Read more ·  1

I felt they all were too heavy for a stick vac, and none of the lighter ones were recommended at all. So I left them, went and did some study in the library with Choice and was still unconvinced. I decided to just go buy the $99 Asko Kmart stick vac, even though reviews have been all over the place from buyers. I have a large home with vinyl and carpets and 2 indoor dogs, 1 cat and a parrot who comes out nightly. So I have animal hair and bird feathers and seed to contend with plus dust from a wood heater. I am quite happy with the Kmart Vac, It isn't as powerful as a Dyson but gets a lot of hair out of the carpet and general crumbs off the vinyl. I actually think the plastic is better quality that a dyson, the clips and connections appear stronger, the filter is a better setup and you can wash the shroud which is the part that sits inside the dust cannister that the debris spins around. The power head isn't as strong as a Dyson and I clean the brush out daily, but overall I think this machine would suffice for most people who don't want to spend big, or simply cannot afford an expensive stick vac. It is light and easy to manoeuvre as well as easy to empty. I do wish they made a mini power head and a soft dusitng brush like you can buy as extras for the dyson though. You can also buy extra parts if you need an extra battery say, plus it has a one year warranty. Parts are so much cheaper than Dyson. So if you need a quick and easy unit to use daily, I would recommend this machine. I will still get my Miele bagged vaccy out weekly for a thorough clean though. Hope this helps people!

Top value – We use it on tiled floors & carpet in three bedrooms in a fairly good sized 4 bedroom home and it performs very well. Because of its slimline design the filter requires regular cleaning which is easy & simple otherwise a top performer. The battery lasts quite well & throughout the time we've had it which is around a year and a half is still… Read more

perfect. We don't understand why some people pay so much for their stick vacs when this was only $99 ! We used a relative's one which cost over a thousand dollars! It was terrible and hard to use. How much profit margin do these rip offs make? I highly recommend this 'anko' stick vac.

Great value – We bought this cordless vac mainly just for the occasional small mess on the carpet or tiles. We have since upgraded to the Dyson V11, which is fantastic for all kinds of cleaning with a vac. I am now using the K-Mart home & co vac in the garage and it works great on the old carpet I have on the floor, as well as on the concrete and cleaning up… Read more

messes on the work bench. The secret to keeping it running well is to make sure it's kept clean, including the filter for the best suction. I also found that the brush on the head is removable for easier cleaning and that there's a cap on the end of it that needs to be taken off and cleaned, due to hair build up around it.

great value – Bought 2 of these (one blue and silver and a older grey and orange but there the same under the skin) and there both better than I expected. Suction is bad – Worked great when i first purchased it. Have had it for a few months now and the suction is so bad. I even have to pull out the broom and dustpan because the suction is so bad. Little crumbs get stuck in the rotating head… Read more

Perfection only lasts a few weeks – I purchased this and instantly fell in love, but the more I used it the worse it got! No matter how much I clean it out, the suction just keeps getting worse and worse! This sucks (not) – This vacuum is used on Tiles, carpet, floorboards. It does not work well on any surface. It has been a disappointing buy to say the least. Would not recommend this vacuum to anyone. Have actually considered using it as a blower instead. Might make a good toy to go along with the kids plastic mowers. Show details

Unsuccessful attempt to copy a Dyson Cordless Vacuum Stick – At first glance this unit looks great and is close to a replica of an older Dyson Cordless Vacuum Stick. It is well made and ticks all the boxes......Easy to assemble and disassmeble, turbo brush head that is easy to clean, cyclonic technology etc. But alas its just a case of good looks only. As far as performance goes its a dismal failure. … Read more

Its suction power is low and rather ineffective. If often fails to collect visible surface dust on carpet even after a couple of passes and thats on the high setting and moving very slowly which you need to do with these powerless cordless vacuum cleaners. And yes, thats with the unit and filter totally clean to ensure suction is at a maximum. Dont even contemplate running it on low. And its not even comfortable to hold....After a short while it starts to feel cumbersome and heavier. There is absolutely no comparison with a genuine Dyson Cordless vacuum stick. None at all. Chalk and cheese as they say. At the same price the Vax V Cordless Handstick Vacuum Cleaner (sold at Harvey Norman) does a much better job than this Anko Vac Stick. The dust conatiner does however show its collecting some dust and the stolen cyclonic design does do a good job of preventing the filter from clogging up quickly. All in all -this is definitely not a mains powered 2000W vacuum cleaner replacement. No way! Rather its a compliment to your 240V vacuum cleaner which serves to do a quick daily tidy up of your main traffic areas and nothing more. Dont even think about vacuuming an entire apartment as it would take forever and still not get the job done properly. Considering Kmart sell this Anko vac stick for around $100 yet they range very good mains powered vacuum cleaners for around $60 (almost half the price) thats what I'd recommend. This Anko vac stick is a complete waste of money!

The only star I can give is for battery life. Unfortunately the suction is non-existent – We use this on our entry tiles, kitchen tiles and hallway carpet, and have never exhausted the battery before exhausting our patience. It simply does not pickup anything. Zero suction whatsoever. It does not pickup food crumbs, small pieces of plastic, dust particles, dirt particles, hair or anything else we have ever tried to vacuum. That this… Read more

can be sold in the vacuum cleaners section is absurd. It would be more appropriate with the brooms as all it does is collect the particles in the bottom of the cleaner and then deposit them in a pile wherever you turn it off. It sounds like a great bit of gear with a noisy, high powered motor and a good battery but it does not live up to the title vacuum in any sense of the word. Highly exhausting and frustrating experience trying to vacuum for 25 mins with this! As I said, we put this thing down in sheer annoyance before exhausting the battery, every single time.

Basic and Functional but Lacks Power – I use this only on tiles for quick cleanups after kids breakfast etc and have tried in a rug but it just doesn't have the power to pick up on carpet. Worst Kmart purchase – We have timber floor through out our house. The only tiles we have are in the bathroom and we only have 2 rugs. Great product carpet – Bought this stick vac from Kmart 99$ great little product for during the week vacuums. Can’t fault it. It picks up every thing and is light weight and easy to use considering I am a mother of two a toddler and a school child who love craft. Probably would not buy again – We mostly use this vacuum on a hard wood floor. Unfortunately, hair gets caught around the spinning floor head part which is quite hard to unwind. Also, the width of the head is quite small, so you feel like you are putting in much more time and effort to vacuum even a small area. Also, as it is a stick, you can't use the unit to easily suck things that aren't on the floor, like you can with a flexible hose type of vacuum cleaner. Show details

Waste of $99.00 – I bought this stick vac about 6 months ago and used it a few times. It sort of did the job although not well.
