Worst Sofa I have ever purchased
Cushy Sofa BedI purchased the Koala 3 Seater Cushy Sofa Bed & matching Ottoman in May 2023 and it was the worst decision I have ever made. After taking it out from the box, the sofa cushion was lumpy & dented and it looked absolutely terrible for the $2k price point. I complained multiple times via email, no response for about 3 weeks until I followed up for the 2nd time. ... Read moresband to carry it downstairs by himself, only for the driver to tell my husband he won't be taking it with him and my husband had to drag it back upstairs by himself. Anyways the new sofa was just as bad but in a different way. The cushion is so slanted and not at all cushy. We can't sit on it normally as we just slide right off and the cushion sags in the middle as it's not supportive. Customer Support officer Noele came back with 3 options: 1. sit all the way back - we do this anyway and it still feels like we're sliding off. 2. Leave an inch between the base cushion and backrest - we did this and the backrest is leaning back so far that its extremely uncomfortable to actually sit on. 3. Sending some silicone pads - yet to receive this but doubt it will fix the issue of slanted sofa cushions. This option they offer seems as if this issue happens a lot and it's actually a warranty issue. EDIT: the silicone pads did not work. It's extremely sad that Koala know about this common issue of the cushions slanting and have tried to fix it with terrible solutions. I'm out of the 120 night return as I went away for 6 weeks and tried multiple times to call through on the phone number but the wait was way too long. UPDATE: koala have offered us a refund which we will be taking. Thank you to Jade.
Colour is great, suits any space
Cushy Sofa BedGood size and easy to install. Perfect for my Airbnb. Already has a few reviews that say it’s comfortable to sleep on and easy to fold back up. Easy quick delivery.

The best sofa bed I’ve ever slept on!
Cushy Sofa BedI slept on a Koala sofa bed at a friends house and it was the comfiest sofa bed I’d ever slept on. So when it came time to buy a couch this was our first choice!!

Cushy Sofa BedThis Sofa Bed is sof-amazing!! Its comfortable, easy to assemble, very high quality - and did I mention comfortable!! It is our main sofa due to mis-mashed roster work hours. I ALWAYS get an amazing nights sleep and wake up rested. We got the Queen size and its perfect! We can sit and snuggle comfortably or stretch out alone and read, watch TV, game on console or open out and sleep. Highly recommend!

saggy and very cheap/poor quality
Cushy Sofa BedI purchased a luxe version of the koala cushy sofa bed. It sags pretty low to the ground, which makes it uncomfortable to sit on for 5 minutes or longer. The stitching and quality of the fabric has a cheap feel and poor stitching (uneven). It's not a standard you would expect from an RRP of 1800 for a couch. The cushions are thin and mostly feel like the outer fabric. I have attempted aftercare support multiple times, and it has been weeks.

Not for everyday use, I don’t love it
Cushy Sofa BedI read all the great reviews about this sofa bed before biting the bullet and spending $2000+ on the queen size/three seater. We live in a one bed apartment and thought a sofa bed would be ideal for guests. Unfortunately I’ve found it not to be the best, the cushions have gone misshapen from leaning against them, the cushioning in the arms has also misshapen/ pushed out exposing the hard wood frame and the entire seat pulls forward after awhile requiring readjusting. I think it would be great for a spare room where it’s not the mainly used sofa
... Read more but for what we required I wouldn’t purchase again. The actual bed part is clever and probably more comfortable than a sofa bed with springs, ok for a night but any longer you’d probably want to add some more cushioning like a mattress topper.

Terrible sofa & terrible customer service
Cushy Sofa BedWe purchased the cushy sofa bed based off of all the positive reviews and I am extremely confused why this has such a high rating. It is by far the most uncomfortable sofa any of us has ever sat on. There is absolutely no support in it and you literally slide off the front if you try to sit like a normal person. It arrived incredibly creased to the point where there are now permanent marks all over it which we cannot remove. They do fade with time and regular use, or you can remove them by placing a cloth over the creased area and ironing on a low heat. Cushy Sofa BedOur cushy sofa bed by Koala is the perfect addition to our lounge room. It’s the most comfy couch to watch tv on. It’s nicely elevated and the cushions allow for extra back or side support. We’ve already had a guest sleep on it and he was super happy with the level of support and comfort.
The sofa was easy to assemble, and the colour is a gorgeous contrast to my existing furniture.

Perfect couch for comfort and style
Cushy Sofa BedI loved my koala couch. I was researching for a while on which couch would suit my spare room best but after being the owner of a koala bed frame, mattress and linens I couldn’t go past the seamless delivery and make of Koala products. The couch did not disappoint! It was super easy to put together and I loved the instructional video as I am a visual learner.
I wanted a sofa couch that is comfortable for when my parents come to stay and also a comfortable couch as it will be converted to the main couch when my partner and I move in together.
So happy with my purchase and also loved the colour I went with!

Cushy Sofa BedReally comfy, love the colour. Easy to assemble and folds out easily. Even comes with a comfy and thick mattress protector which I wasn’t expecting so that was nice. Great as a chair for my office, perfect nap spot and great for guests. Quite roomy my partner and I can fit on it sitting. Quick iron on low heat with a towel over easily got the crinkles out. Shipped quickly and the delivery man even walked it up 2 flights of stairs in to my apartment even though I told him he absolutely didn’t need to do that.

Questions & Answers
Does anyone have a pic of the mattress topper that I’ve read about? We are looking at this particular sofa bed as a space saver so if the topper is going to be a space taker, it won’t work for us? Any pics would be helpful. Thank you

Great question, thanks for asking!
The topper is a few cm thick and comes with a handy strap to make folding it up a storing it easier, and it doesn't take up too much space once it's folded. You could always pop it on a mattress for a bit of extra comfort if you don't have enough space to tuck it away!

Needing some tips on how to make the couch a bit comfier in couch mode. It tends to tilt forward and feels like the seat isn’t deep enough. Are we doing something wrong? Cheers!
Oooooo. I use the thinner side arm pillows behind my back & pop the thick pillows in the back groove against the wall. This get my posterior further back and also create a thick head rest for those big stretches!! With foot stools it can also help. I’m using my old couch ones and they work beautifully. It does settle if you use it everyday though with or without foot stools. Hope that helps!!

We've found that it can help to leave about a hands-width gap between the seat cushion and the back rest, so just remove the seat cushion and pop it back in place leaving about a 5-10cm gap. This should help balance the sofa a little more and stop the feeling of it slipping forward!

Is the mattress topper supposed to stay on the sofa even when folded up into a sofa ? Or should it be stored in the ottoman I also bought?
G'day Koa,
It's entirely up to you where you'd like to store it! You can keep it on the sofa if you like, but the topper might get a little squashed and not provide the extra comfort it was intended for!
You should have received a handy strap in the box so you can roll the topper up and keep it together for easy-peasy storage, if you decide to pop it in a cupboard or in your ottoman :)
