Need help please , love my little Kogan – Bought the R10 a few years ago, online from Kogan great little vacuum has done a great job on my Lino and hard flooring, sadly it now playing up, keeps going forward back around in circle , I’ve cleaned sensors , unplugged battery, checked bumper sensor, tried to control with remote to make it run forward which it seems to be fighting and… Read more

wanting to go backwards, would love some advice on what could be the problem, otherwise I will need to upgrade sooner than later.

Great for the price – Works best on my wooden floors. It's better than nothing on carpet - still fills up it's bin container with fluff and mess so it's doing something - but on the wooden floors it's excellent. It takes a long time to charge, and runs out of battery in less than my whole house. But easily does a couple of rooms to a great standard before needing to… Read more

recharge.

It can get on and off the carpet area rug from/to my hard floors. I have an outdoor coir doormat on the inside of my front door and it can't get up onto that, it gets stuck and needs rescuing. It fits under all the beds and couches in my house, gets stuck under the edge of the recliner chair.

The bin container is tiny, but I expect they generally are in robot vacuums... I've never had one before so I'm not missing any of the fancier options that they come with like invisible barriers and returning home to charging dock etc. This is a very basic model - you plug it in with a plug when it needs to charge. It just stops wherever it dies. But I only paid $89.99 for it so I am more than happy! It comes with a remote that we don't use at all. We just push it on and off on the machine itself and that's all we've needed to do. You can change the mode from a zigzag to 'random'.

I wanted it for a quick pick up in between me doing the vacuuming properly, mainly in the kitchen after the kids drop breakfast crumbs everywhere, and in the laundry after the cats spill biscuits all over the floor. For both of these it works perfectly and I'm very happy.

The price on Kogan is currently $109.99 (it says this is a sale and usually $199, I don't know what kogan's prices are like if sales stay forever or what) but anyway I signed up for their "First" membership thing which meant the price was $89 and free shipping, you can cancel the 'first' membership prior to the free trial ending.

I'm sure if you are downgrading from a $900 robot vacuum there would be plenty to complain about, but for a tenth of the price this is doing everything I need and I'm very impressed.

Don't expect it to do a decent job – I only use it on tiles, and only when I have no time to vacuum myself. Doesn't cover half the floor surface, and repeats the same spots over and over. Show details

I wouldn’t bother – I wouldn’t bother unless you have a house where you can close all doors and have completely flat surfaces, you will need to remove everything from your floor that it could get caught on or under. It does suck up the dirt but not very powerful at all, I’m very disappointed! Thumbs down Show details

Works good enough – Using this device on my hardwood floors. It seems to move around ok, finding a path around most of the house. It doesn't like rugs or floor mats and will bunch them up and get stuck. It has a 15 to 20 minute run time on a full charge. I was surprised how much dust it found. Overall, good for the $59 I paid.  Show details

Regretful impulse buy – Saw this was on sale for $100 plus postage. I hate vacuuming, and it had ok reviews, so it seemed like a great idea. I read the instructions, did the first charge, which requires a 6 hour charge minimum, according to the booklet. The remote for the vacuum didn't come with batteries included, so I just had to hit the big button on the machine and… Read more

go.

I immediately began laughing at how bad it was. The second star is purely for the comedic value. The poor little thing just rolls around, thumping into everything like some wounded blind turtle. It doesn't seem to have the common sense to just do a 180, and instead only pivots at weird 45 degree angles, which meant that in my house, it kept gravitating to a corner between my table and buffet. After a minute of helplessly bumping around, stuck in the corner, it just gave up and shut itself down. Can't blame it really.

Take 2, I tried the kitchen. Started it off straight out of a corner, it immediately knocked over the plate of dog kibble, picked up 1 or 2 of the bits it had just spilled, and got it's side stuck under the fridge.

Ok, so the kitchen was a no-go, but maybe the living room might have luck. Nope. Zoomed straight under the entertainment unit and got stuck on an extension lead, and on the next attempt, got stuck on the <1cm edge of the flat rug.

After 4 shutdowns in 10 minutes, I decided to open it up and check the catcher, and discovered that it was smaller than a dryer's lint filter. I was surprised to see that it had picked up a bit of dirt, dust and dog hair, considering the areas it had passed over still had visible signs of dust left behind.

All in all, this is the cheapest option for a reason. It might pick up bits of dust here and there, but it doesn't seem to be able to be relied upon to do a consistent job, and it proves to be a giant nuisance having to constantly rescue and reboot it, and if by chance it makes it through 10 minutes without shutting down, emptying the tiny dust catcher. My plan is to return this item, and instead opt for a hand stick vacuum instead.

Convenient, easy and useful – This small vacuum cleaner is very useful. Tried over a few months, it proved quite reliable. It's suction power is excellent. It's very easy to clean. Can do the floor automatically, going around randomly, or can be guided by the owner. It's rather quiet, and can vacuum tile floors or carpeted floors. Price was very reasonable. I'd recommend this appliance without hesitation.  Show details
