Kogan Hi-Res Over Ear Studio Monitor & Mixing DJ Headphones

I couldn't edit my review on Dick Smith Australia for this item. Neither could I write another review on kogan.com or any other website because there didn't seem to be any other places of review for these headphones. So I thought I might put a page in product review for these headphones.
Judging by how cheap they are, they provide sound quality that in my opinion has high clarity, is very acute and very clear with good base. I use these on my desktop PC. So I also bought a onboard sound card, which would assist in the quality of sound also. The sound card is a Sound Blaster made by Creative.
I was comparing the specifications to a $100 pair of headphones which are also DJ monitoring headphones. I wouldn't buy any other kind of headphone because I prefer to have headphones that actually utilise sound rather than just play sound.
The frequency, the impedance and the drivers on these headphones might be a little bit smaller than those of other headphones, but the difference is minute, barely making them worse or better than more expensive headphones. although these headphones being $40 and more expensive headphones at $100 are still exceedingly cheap compared to a pair that cost $900 and I can not imagine you owuld get heaps more out of your expensive head phones..
It's hard to comprehend how a pair of headphones can vary in sound in regards to the highest of quality, seeing as we are dealing with micro technology and the difference in sound. Its not always obvious,
obviously headphones like this encapsulate your ears allowing you to hear everything which you can't really hear through open speakers even if they are the highest of quality speakers the sound is still traveling through open air effectively and essentially depleting, diminishing and distorting sound. Which is not the case with headphones because they are a closed system.
For these Kogan headphones, I couldn't even find a comprehensive list of the specifications that drive the sound through hardware And what specifications I could find, I could see that the differences between more expensive headphones were menial, if not inconsequential entirely.
Apart from that, you've got the obvious factors like the cable, 3.5mm jack and the comfort of the wear. These headphones are very comfortable to wear long term. Obviously cable means better connection and faster, quicker sound. Also clearer sound. the 3.5 millimeter jack. Well it's not as good as an optical jack obviously but for some reason I don't think I've ever seen a headphone that has an optical connection anyway so we cant really compare that!
So as far as I can tell and as far as I can say through experience is that these headphones provide very nice clear sound especially for say movies. In scenes where there's thunder or rain you can hear very clearly the thunder and the rain as well as the voices, very nice sound and they seem to drive the sound to areas which is good helps to create the effect required through watching a movie so I can't complain with these headphones as they seem to perform very well despite the fact they are gray import Kogan headphones that's no reason to belittle or condemn them
LOTR fellowship of the ring sounds very good through these headphones, I can certainly hear sound detail, the most subtle to the most vvibrant with out loss of audible clarity
Follow-up · Headphones are very tight, comfortable fit. They block outside noise very well and the sound fidelity or high resolution or acute detail in my opinion is still very strong. The cable has a coil in it which allows it to stretch but over time this becomes more relaxed which is good because I'm running the cable from the back of my computer. Especially good in movies for picking up very fine details such as rain sound.
Purchased at Dick Smith for $40.
