Waste of money – We bought 2 pairs for long flights. They were VERY uncomfortable. And worse, the Noise canceling function did NOT work at all on both. Waste of money. Show details
Useless For Noise Cancelling – I bought these for use on public transport, because they have ANC. Sadly they don’t. I want to listen to audiobooks when there is loud background sound without having to turn the volume up high. ANC should be able to do this. I am not after an unrealistic total silence. I have had other cheap ANC headphones that work well. These do not. To test:… Read more
Without music playing I turn ANC on and off repeatedly, there is no difference Music quality is fair but probably not even upto the price. Sony used to have a good name.
If it doesn't cancel noise it shouldn't be marketed as noise cancelling – I bought these to work on transcribing with children in the background talking to each other in my home office. These headphones do not stop their voices at all. Otherwise OK headphones, hence two stars not one, but honestly this is crap being allowed to falsely advertise them as 'noise cancelling'. I can hear every word my child is saying. Show details

Outstanding value travel headphones – Have used these on many flights to North America. Fold away flat in carry-on, sound is pretty good, and noise cancelling does a decent job inside the aircraft - I often just wear them with the NC on and nothing playing. Bluetooth 'phones won't last on 15 hour flights but the battery in the Sony's lasts a full return trip, well over 30 hours (and a spare AAA takes up no space). Terrific value. Show details
Not bad. Would recommend – My partner got me this headphones that she won from a company event. I needed one for my work since I hold zoom meetings a lot. I'm not knowledgable on brands but Sony delivered on this one. Mic and sound works great and had no problems using it for work. I can communicate well and hear my clients clearly.
I'm very happy with this product. It does the job well – I walk to work sometimes on a busy, noisy road and bought this product to both hear my music clearly and minimize the traffic noise. Compared to other headphones I have, these definitely work very well. They are comfortable, clear and compact too. I'm happy with them.
Negative reviews
Terrible – Uncomfortable and tiny, these are a complete waste of $50 and do little to promote the reputation of Sony. This review does not merit 30 words, but I am still forced to write them.
Was not to – I called Sony 5 days in a row to follow up with this product because they falsely advertised this item and i bought in one to get a refund but never got a response on top of that they keep telling no can't do anything and told me to sell the product in eBay and you will get the money this was from one of the supervisor
A step up from standard headphones – Purchased these headphones in the hopes of making it easier to listen to content while flying. The noise cancelling function does make a notable difference when turned on, I would say it cuts about 30% of the annoying mid-high range frequencies. It made it a lot easier to head dialogue when watching in-flight movies than my old headphones. However… Read more
the pads must create a tight seal for the noise-canceling to work, if you brush your head against the seat and dislodge them the sound is affected. They also get uncomfortable to wear for long periods. Battery life seems good - have flown internationally without having to replace. Obviously these arn't going to perform as well as the high-end brands that cost 5x the price - but will be a marked improvement on the set that came with your phone.

Great product – I bought it online not having any big expectations. The headphones positively surprised me. They are on ear rather than over ear. Noise cancellation works well and battery seems to last for hours and hours Show details
Good budget noise-cancelling headphones... wish the lead was longer – I bought mine nearly 4 years ago when Dick Smith stores got liquidated. At the time I paid $99 when the list price was $129. I use them at work most days because I work in an open plan office. I am one of those people who takes care of their things. Only now having the ear pad material disintegrate into black dandruff on my shoulders :-(, but I… Read more
noticed this starting to happen maybe 2 months ago, sound quality is still great.
In terms of noise cancelling, they are really good at blocking out lower frequencies - great for blocking out a particularly annoying male colleague who loved the sound of his own voice. Not so much for higher-pitched voices.
What I love about these headphones is that they are comfortable to wear. My mother's pelvis was too small to push a baby through, so consequently I have a slightly bigger noggin thanks to being birthed via c-section. This means I have trouble with hair bands and some types of hats giving me headaches. By no means am I like the Elephant Man, but I have spent a small fortune on hair accessories that have been worn once and then thrown straight under the bed. The ear pads have a reasonable amount of adjustment and the band doesn't give me any grief over the top of the head. The ear pads don't get sweaty with all day use, in aircon.
The build quality is good for the price. I haven't managed to break the swivel earpieces in the few times they have come along on overseas trips with me, and they are quite light.
The only thing I don't like about them is they are not wireless. The cord is only just long enough to go from a laptop docking station to my head, so sometimes my arm will catch the cord when I swivel around on my chair. Also, note that they require an AAA battery in addition to the headphone jack to get the noise cancelling feature to work, as they are obviously an older model. Overall very well priced for what you are getting, but old tech.
I use these when flying – I mainly use these when I am flying and listening to movies on the plane. For an in-expensive headphone they work well for me. I like that they fold up. They take a AAA battery and you turn them on to listen. No adjustable sound levels on the headphones, but you can do that on your device. Show details
Good mid end on-ear headphones – I have this one for nearly a year now and they are still intact, no scratches, peel off, etc. In terms of comfort, it is not bad although I still think that over the ear headphones are more comfortable. The noise cancellation makes these headphones need a battery to operate, but I found the noise cancellation is not that useful but I am not really… Read more
sensitive towards noise/high pitch noise. Again, it is easier to 'cancel' noises by getting over the ears headphones than actively cancelling it like these heandphones do. They are light and foldable make it easy to carry around, the cable is long enough. Sound quality wise they are as good as a 70 bucks heandphones can be.

Good Headphones – Bought these to use while flying as they drown out air noise good quality comfortable to wear amplifier good light weight sound quality good needs to be a bit more durable but if taken care of ok also fold up. Show details
Great affordable headphones with good sound quality – I listen to mostly pop, dance, rap and hiphop. I have been really please with these headphones the sound quality is great for the price. Headband part stretched abit though. Show details
Good for the money – It’s not great. However it serves my purpose as a layman. I am using this for more than a year and I am happy with it. It has chord, so not really good for activities. Show details
Played for about 30 minutes – I was excited when I bought these, until I got them home. The noise cancelling is not perceptible but that didn't worry me too much, the sound was ok. Then after about 30 minutes of use on two occasions they stopped working. Tried reconnecting everything in every different way, but they had died. This voice in the back of my head is now clearer than ever "should have bought the Bose" Show details
Great reliable product – We bought this through online. Noise cancelling function isn't quite focused and it seems just an addition. Other functions are great, not complains. Reliable product and we recommend this if you seek a decent reasonable headphone without spending fortune. Show details
This is a perfect headphones for daily use – I have been using this headphones for almost a month and half now and it have been serving the purpose perfectly. The sound quality is amazing. However, if you are considering going for a noise cancelling headphones, this headphones are not for you. Also, there is an issue of leakage on some noise with this headphones, if you don't mind these problems than these are the best pair of headphones you can get for this price range. Show details
Overall decent value, 50% less noise does really help – Overall decent value, 50% less noise does really help. I bought these for flying, after being subjected to annoyingly loud engine/flight noise on a recent trip to New Zealand. I guess they reduced the noise by about 50%, which may be normal for a lower end product. I paid about $75 aud for them. {I mainly chose these because at the airport, they… Read more
were one of the least expensive , after which prices jumped to $300+. I would've paid up to $180, but nothing available. }
The sound when listening to a movie was really quite good, clear, with very good volume adjustment.
Good choice – When switched off, they're not very good, frankly. But when switched on, they sound pretty great. Not quite like a high-end pair, but very good for this price point. They are snug - fairly comfortable but after 2-3 hours, your head might need a break. While they work well in a car/office environment, they do NOT reduce noise enough for good airplane use in my opinion. They'll work in a pinch, but only at full volume. Show details
Solid airplane noise reducing headphones – Pros: -They work well at reducing airplane engine noise (the reason I bought them.) -Compact due to their folding design. -On ear design, which work very well if you wear glasses. -Price, price, price. Cons: -Do not have the best sound, so if you're looking for Bose like quality, stop here. -I found the cord length a tad short, but certainly wasn't a deal breaker. Show details

Value for Money – Bought these 5 months ago. They do what they say but I haven't been able to test them in flight yet...so jury is still out in this regard. Battery life is great. Can get a little uncomfortable on ears with extended use. Good value for money. 4 foot cable which is fine for in flight. Show details
Love it! Couldn't live without it – I use the headphones daily to listen to music and podcasts when walking. They are very comfortable to wear and have good clear sound with good volume. I like that they sit over the ears rather than inside the ears. I wouldn't use them for exercise as they would get sweaty. Great value for money Show details
Not bad for the price – I can't really complain about these headphones for the price I paid for them. Not overly bassy, good midrange and treble. Nice clean and clear acoustics, great for wearing out and about, around the house or at the gym. The noise cancelling feature is a gimmick - it merely uses the battery (1 x AAA) to amplify the sound. They're comfortable on the… Read more
ears, lightweight and not too bulky around your neck and fold away nicely. Sure they're not as good as Beats, Bose or Sennheisers but they're not in the same price range either. If you want good headphones with good bass, mids and trebles expect to pay a lot more for a good set of cans. For $50 you can't go wrong with these phones.
Great sound and comfortable to wear – These have become my favourite headphones so far and I have only used them for two weeks. They are very comfortable on my ears and stay put and do not slide off when I move. The sound is very nice as well and I would recommend these headphones to a friend. Show details
This is great! – These headphones are soft with an overall comfortable-looking design. The sound system and audio quality are awesome and the amplifiers and bass work well to allow you to enjoy your music. The cables aren't too problematic but they can get tangled and create a mess, which is slightly inconvenient but this is an issue with most wired headphones. Show details
Good but the cables sometimes get in the way – These ain't bad head phones the sound quality is great and base and sound levels sound really nice but the cables can sometimes get in the way or make a mess when tangled. They can be very load or very soft volumes seem good and the over all design seems very comfortable Show details
This is the ideal type of Headphones – Is soft and comfy to wear and the sound system is quite good. Good bass and very good sound amplifiers. Has a distinct amount of creating sound that helps you enjoy music more. Would recommend to anyone who is wiling to try to buying a new set of headphones. This product should be your first choice. Perfect for the traveller that required portable sound – I brought two of these headsets in order to be able to use for traveling internationally to America for four weeks. So far, I have tested these in my usual day to day use and they function as intended and also include the noise cancelling features. You can hear a little background noise, however, it is not enough to give this product a bad review.… Read more
Sony has a good name and the product is supported with a manufacturer's warranty. My only recommendation would be to maybe introduce a recharging feature to the headphones - However, this is easily fixed with rechargeable batteries and a travel charger. I do like though that the battery is removable as this makes it easy to swap in a charged battery on the fly.
Amazing – Very good very amazing and no lag and very cheap. It is hood and hood hearing as but the beat thing is that it has blue tooth and better than any kind of headphones. It's like my baby ans I have to take care of the headphone and I will never sell it Show details
Good warm colourful sounds – Good pair of headphones. Comfy but could be better. For the price I was expecting a bit more but the sound quality is good at least. Nice warm colourful sounds. Bass is decent too for general purpose us. Most of my other headphones focus too much on sound quality or the bass is way too busy but these headphones for me are a nice balance. Show details
Perfect for my Sony phone – When I bought my mobile phone Sony I was very happy bout the device, quality of screen, fast, beautiful design, great size, but not really impressed about the sound of the headphones that comes in the box with the mobile phone... until I bought those headphones... the sound it's clear and incredible, the quality just unique! Good quality for a decent price – These headphones are pretty amazing, they're clear, lightweight and overall an awesome choice for the price. They're great for high volume listening, particularly pop music but they also boast a solid mid-range, supporting metal music very well. charger (avoids having to carry multiple chargers on holiday). If you're a big basshead focusing on EDM, then these may not be the best for you. But they're definitely quality for the price.
