Koss KSC75

Great sound quality, comfortable, poor noise isolation – Great sound quality. Almost as good as an IEM without the pain. Really comfortable to wear for long times. It has poor noise isolation unless you really press them against your head. I'm not sure if I need to adjust them or if it's just from having them without any padding. Show details
A classic for the budget audio connoisseur – Have heard about these for years and after blowing through several bluetooth earphones (some cheap, some expensive eg Powerbeats Wireless) I decided to settle back on a compact wired set for my daily commute. Where to begin? These are so comfortable to wear for a long time, don't get tugged out of my ears if I twist my neck around or accidentally… Read more
tug on the cable, and they sound all-round amazing across multiple music genres.
What's better still, is the fact that it has a cult following of people who swear by these headphones so there is no shortage of guides on how to repair, modify, replace parts, etc. Absolutely recommend these still after all these years :)
Cheap, lightweight, comfortable and sounds great – I've purchased around 6 of these so far over several years, because I love them so much. They meet all my requirements for a portable/light home use headphone. Mostly use it for listening to music and gaming. If I do need something better for critical music listening/gaming sessions, I use my Audio Technica ATH-AD700, but 90% of the time I only… Read more
ever use the Koss KSC75.
I originally heard about their good reputation back in 2008 and got a pait for 49 from headphones.com.au as a replacement for my old Sony street style (around the back of the head) MDR-G72 headphones which I really loved. My initial thoughts were the bass on the KSC75 was a lot better, and everything in general sounded better. Crisp highs and mids. Excellent soundstange. Lifetime warranty if purchased from proper sources such as headphones.com.au. I've had a couple of mine repaired under warranty. I also bought some from EBay and they appear to work fine, but I don't think the lifetime warranty applies for those.
A few negatives:
- The drivers/cord tend to fail over time. Mostly if you abuse them, e.g. if you use them while jogging or scrunch them up in a bag.
- The ear clips can sometimes be annoying to put on. They also clip off easily and may potentially break (thankfully none have broken for me so far).
- They look a bit ugly/dated and leak some sound
- Cord is a bit stiff and can get tangled easily
Despite all that, I still plan to buy these for years to come, unless something better comes along at this price range with similar sound and features.
NOTE: I also have a KSC-55 which appears to use the same driver but with different housing design. They sound just as good, but the around-the-head band is very painful after just a few minutes of use. I ended up taking it apart and using the drivers with an old pair of KSC75's clips.
SIMPLY AMAZING – These headsets are awesome. Quality of sound is awesome. Far superior to the standard headsets - which always fell out of my ears. I had a set a couple of years ago and lost them overseas. So happy I now have replacement. Very comfortable too. Cannot recommend highly enough. Do yourself a huge favour - GET SOME !! Sound and comfort - would pay double for them as they are so good. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ! Like anything tho - take care of them.
Totally unexpected – Bought these on-ear sport headphones for $50 didn't expect much but other reviews from other websites gave them the thumbs up. And so I played some of Michael Bubble's and the sound coming from that ugly looking (really unappealing design) totally blew me away. Believe what you read on the reviews. buy them and you won't regret having them and… Read more
they have unlimited warranty, except if you buy from eBay which is cheaper.no warranty. Excellent sound Design could be better
Excellent – Can't beat these for both comfort and value for money. I use them for jogging and other exercise and they are stable and easy to wear for long periods. Compared with ear buds (that are always uncomfortable) and canal phones (that you can hear every foot step with), the 75s are easily the most user-friendly headphones to exercise with. The fact… Read more
that the sound quality is brilliant is an added bonus. May take a few days to get used to fitting them quickly and correctly but once you do, you can whack them on in a few seconds. Great sound, comfort, price. Although KOSS offer a lifetime warranty, being in Australia has it's disadvantages in this regard. I've gone through 2 pairs in 3 years. But being fairly cheap to buy, it's hardly a major issue.
Big bang, small buck. In one word...AWESOME! – Onto my 3rd pair in 4 years. 3rd pair you say? Well my first 2 stopped working due to me yanking them out of the computer whilst still on the ol' noggin. This one of only two negatives to these set of very capable cans...a short cable. At just over 1 metre, it does not give you the room to move around much. That said, these over the ear Koss… Read more
delights are sweet music to the ears. I bought these as my ear canals cannot fit earbuds, but didn't want the full bulk of a closed over the ear set. A fantastically clear and detailed sound, ranging right through from highs to lows, and to be quite frank, still can't believe the end result from such an inexpensive pair of headphones. Hence, the 3rd pair!
They have a clip on, around the ear design which can take a little getting used to, and at times the speaker can "pop" off the ear clip (the second negative), but once you get used to putting them on and taking off, this becomes a rarity.
Truly a remarkable feat from Koss, and are worth a lot more than their recommended price tag. Anyone looking for a pair of headphones in the sub $100 range, and not put off by the short cable, should just go out and buy them. I have recommended to 10+ people, all whom can't believe their ears. Last bit of advice is to shop around, as there are bargains to be had.
Lastly, i've had no experience with their warranty replacement, but have read you need to send them back to the U.S. for repair/replacement. Might just be worth buying another pair!
Highly recommended. Clear, detailed sound through entire sound range. Inexpensive. Limited lifetime warranty. Short cable.
Excellent – I bought my Koss KSC75 for $25 on Ebay from a trusted seller. The sound quality of these headphones is simply stunning for they money. The are very light and extremely comfortable to use. My main headphones are a pair of Alessandro MS1. The sound of the Koss is not as clear and does not have the bass of the Alessandro but its mid range is quite… Read more
similar and cost me around 1/8th of the price.
The headphones are of an open type so they leak sound. They clip on the ear using a stainless steel swivel arm that are coated in rubber. These can come ot of the socket but are able to be put back in easily. They are extremely comfortable for very extended use.
In terms of headphones this is a million times better than the stock apple product and actually better than a pair of $180 Sennheisers that I auditioned at Harvey Norman. If they had been made to look better and not so plasticky and actually came in a nice wooden box they would have been able to justify a $200 pricetag. Buy without hesitation. In fact buy two or three. You will thanks me. Awesome sound, great reliability, very comfortable and easy to use, very cheap to buy sometimes hard to know left from right. The appearance is not as good as the sound quality.
