Poor design stunts a good mower – I bought this mower after looking around at many other brands. that it had a 48 inch manufactured deck, not a pressed metal one. The seat is comfortable and the driving position doesn't hurt my back like another brand does as I tend to sit more upright because of the higher steering wheel. I decided to remove the rubber mat, to give it a good clean, only to find that the paint had chipped around one of the bolts. To Kubota's credit they had the deck repainted at the local panel beaters. Since then I have had the brackets that hold the deck to the body break at the deck, the brackets holding the plastic covers over the pulleys driving the blades break. The screws holding the plastic covers onto the brackets come loose and fall off. My opinion is that there are some design faults with the way the brackets are welded onto the deck as there is a thin disk welded to the deck then the brackets welded to the disk. Certainly not strong enough. As for the brackets holding the plastic cover the steel tends to break at the 90 degree bend where it bolts to the deck. Unsure what the metal strength is but not strong enough at that point. I am going to sell it an go electric.
My mower can't go.up hills – It stops on a gradually hill and then it starts to grab and then gets up the hills I've changed the oil in transmission and checked the belt looks all good but might be a little lose could that be the problem and to.the guy who can't adjust the mower deck have a look underneath at the 4 mounting points they all have adjustable even the front rollers wheels can be adjusted Show details
Piece of Crap – I thought this was a quality machine! Wrong, Piece of crap, Eats belts, leaves a strip of unmowed grass in middle. Sitting under tarp in shed. Never buy another thing they make. Show details
T2090 junk – I spent the extra money on this kabota lawn tractor 5 yrs ago (close to $6000 new). Since then I've replaced mower belt 3 times and the drive belt twice. I also have to call the place I bought it to come get it to replace the drive belt as well. it. The mower belt is constantly coming off and is not an easy job to put back on. Today I found a tare/break in the steal to the rear left bracket of the deck. I have a farm property to cut. The kabota just doesn't cut it.
Great Cutting and Nimble. Can't get the parking brake to disengage – Hmmmm, one hour on the meter and the parking brake will not disengage. The parking brake worked about 10 times before it failed. T1670 great mower – I've now had my 1670 for about 8 yrs. It's been a great mower with very little that has gone wrong other than parts wearing out which would be expected. Would not buy again – Purchased Kubota T1880 in 2012. It is a belt eater. If you do not remove pulley covers each time you mow, clean around the pulley, by removing the debris, you will be replacing a new belt. They are not cheap. Secondly, it does mow in reverse. In order to move mower, without power, you have to engage the transmission lever and push all at the same time. Overall, it cut well and has enough power; however, the belt eating is too much to bear. Show details

them I had to do something I had not cut grass in two weeks. They went to another dealer and picked this unit up for me, it got delivered and i am cutting with it. The things I like is the power of the Kawasaki engine, the dash layout and floor and seat. It is made very solid and will take a beating. I can honestly say that becuase I had cruise locked in and was cutting two weeks ago and moved a tree limb in my way, well another limb hit me in the face. I screwed up and hit the forward fuel pedal and BAMMM I ran into the back of my garage. All I can say is all of this safety stuff like unit shutting off if you go in reverese with deck on, if you leave the seat deck shuts off. But they put cruise control on a mower. Needless to say nothing was broken except my pride. I special ordered this unit with a bagger and snow blade. Units are not built like they used to be, you cannot change rear tires to lug tires so snow blade will most likely be useless. But this unit will run and makes the yard look great. Rear tires spin alot when on hills or turing around trees. Would I purchase again, I honestly have to say I would try a John Deere X570 mower. Not saying I would not buy the Kubota. I did finance through Kubota with 0% down and 36 months 0% fiancing. All in cost close to $8,500.00 for mower, bagger and blade.
Very Disappointed in this mower – I also have had a T2380 for about 4 years and it has to be the most useless , costly mower I have ever had ( and have had quite a few) As mentioned in another post it leaves a grass strip, it doesn't mulch very well. "wing" which creates the down draught airflow so it stops mulching properly.You can not change the main drive belt ( engine - trans) without dropping the steering rack out. if you are changing one it pays to fit a spare and cable tie it up & out of the way because you will need it soon anyway and its a real pain the change. They aren't the "cheap" option mower and you expect a little better from Kubota, it's a very disappointing mower and I tell a lot of people about it.
The infinity mower deck is a piece of crap – this is the worst mower deck Kubota has ever produced it leaves a strip of grass between the blades always has and apparently it always will. Kubota should recall this mower deck and offer you another one to replace it with. Show details

Grass Catcher is worthless, regretting my purchase – I have had two other Kubota's prior to this one and I could not be more disappointed. I added the grass catcher attachment and it is darn near worthless. If the grass is the tiniest bit moist or long, it all gets stuck and you have to disassemble the catcher, clean it all out and do it all again in a few minutes. Not much chop – I have a 2015 T2380 and as others have said it leaves a strip of any type of grass long short Ky or dry. I sharpen the blades and the underside is clean but this makes no difference. has plenty of power for towing a small trailer and the drive seems Ok. The deck is like one of my older John Deere's and collects rust. Although it sometimes sits outside and I don't have time to clean it as it is quite difficult to get at all areas. I think two areas of improvement would be cost of parts and resolving the belt longevity it really is a problem, Then It would be not too bad. Thanks Pete.
A big disappointment and sold as quality – This is the third rideon of this model i have owned. The first two were great how ever the one i have now is dreadful. While under warranty it has blown two head gaskets,had the carburetor replaced and still severely backfires when turning the motor off after doing a couple of hours mowing. Show details
A disgrace to all those that built up the Kubota name – From day one it left a strip of un-mown grass down the centre. Poor deck design. Within a hour operation from new it was returned to dealer because so many bolts fell off. Have had to keep tightening bolts and check for missing bits all the time. pulley guards and in hidden in
steel deck pockets - that promote rust. The only way to clean deck is to remove it and then remove plastic pulley guards. Time consuming.
As a machine designer, I am shocked at the poor quality of a number of parts. It seems to me the unit has had two design teams. One focused on promoting the Kubota name and ethical (reliable) design, and the other team focused on designing something that will fail prematurely.
(I bought a Kubota generator around the same time, and the same unethical design methodology has infected parts of it too.)
Kubota, you have a lot of work to do to get this sucker back again. What a shame to see your good name destroyed.
Worst mower ever – This mower has been nothing but a headache from day 1. Cut is uneven and constant part replacement and repair work necessary. What a disappointment. Have always bought Kubota mowers and never will buy another, nor will I ever recommend one. Pulleys need constant replacement. Just JUNK. Repair/Replacement parts are expensive. heap of junk – i thaught i had a quality unit but i was wrong i will go to a different brand next time 100 hrs new belt pulleys on deck cost $500 dollars now the drive is stuffed its only done 200 hrs now i will never buy this brand again it has been serviced on time and has only been used by me not a very good product Show details
Bitterly disappointed. Totally rubbish cutting deck – Parts used within 50hours of use: 2 x tensioner pulleys 4 x deck belts 2 x deck drive belts 2 x drive belts Cutting deck required straightening after 15 hours. Won't cut grass. Flattens it rather than cutting it. Leaves a strip between blades. Low engine power. Been to dealer 3 times. This is without question the worst purchase I have ever made. tractor mower? I have lawnmower trailer attached to tractor mower's trailer bracket loop hole to attach small trailer to pick up fallen broken tree branches off mow areas. This saves wear and tear on the blades.
Prior brand 54" ride tractor mower, spindles replaced 3 times.. The new delivered unit (unused), had bent spindle.. New replacement belt kept coming off after install..

This is Terrible, I could live fine without it – Just not a Mower I would buy again. Do yourself a favor & stay away from this model. Lots of other choices to choose from.

consider that a pretty reasonable performance over 380hrs @ $74 nz also had to replace the wire brake cable on the deck @ $70 nz I bought a new main deck belt as a spare @ $66 over the last 100hrs. So pretty reasonable wear and tear over that time. Now after seeing the performance of some of the new Zero turn mowers now available I would be very, very tempted into buying that type of mower for the areas that I currently mow. The Kubota suffers from being a bit light in the back end, especially on my hilly stuff, and has a tendency to take off on a steep slope downwards and skid on nice new green grass climbing up. Not everyone of course is faced with this situation, however I have had a number of Zero turn, twin transmission units demonstrated on the property since and they don't suffer from that problem. The braking from twin units gives no skidding at all on quite steep slopes that would give you the tom-tits on a conventional mower. Now go and do your homework on what brand you would like, price again will probably dictate the unit you buy, but research the transmission specs and you will find most, not all, in a price range share the same transmission, because most of them are badge engineered anyway. So I'm stuck with the Kubota, short of winning Lotto, because it looks as if it may outlast me. Kubota have some very nice Zero turns. Happy Mowing !!!
A great lawn Mower – I recommend this lawn mower it has a lot of cutting power along with a great cut better than the other lawn mowers i owend. The belts are still like brand new and have over 75 hours on lawn mower. Very, Very happy with the Kubota.
A cut above most ride on mowers – I bought orange over green because of the quality of deck, steering and overall design. I had water filled lug tyres fitted which suits my hilly country and it goes anywhere. If people are burning/ melting belts then they need to slow down to enable deck to throw cleanly rather than jam the system I had an hour meter fitted by dealer for $50 . A cheap item to ensure regular servicing records. Seating is sprung which is better than usual rough ride of old mower.
The 2 cyl motor is the better option over the single. Kubota have followed up on purchases and responded to my criticism regarding a Less than smooth rack and pinion steering system although I don't know whether they will modify new ones as they should. Because of lug tyres there is a tendency for front wheels to not grip like a raised rib front tyre should when turning sharply. Have only done 40 hours so far but it seems as good as new and still feels tight overall. The quality of the cut on the small piece of lawn I have is excellent. Safety features are brilliant although I get tired of having to reset reversing switch- bloody yanks over paid lawyers again.
Would buy another one in the future but I suspect this one will outlast me.

dry hard, destroy cheap blades and mowers! You needed to wear a kidney belt and put a bit of wood in your mouth to save the teeth! But the first kubota sorted this out, thats why I went back and got another one. only done 1st cut but am very impressed, this mower is a big jump up from the old one, 20hp Kohler runs smooth, air cleaner easy to get to so is oil and fuel filter so maintenance is easy. Will see how it goes, old mower done 300hrs with no problems, hopefully this can be repeated. My block has some slopes, this one is better doesn't get stuck where old one did, but did get stuck when I crossed a small drain at an angle? just took foot off leaned more weight to one side and away, other one went straight over must be longer wheel base caused this. This model has much sturdier steering, proper tie rod ends that bolt on not pressed, tick for Kubota, whole steering assembly is tougher than most others, is easy to turn also a great turning circle. The cut on mulch was better than I expected and around the house this was good as no grass spraying everywhere another tick, was easy to revert back to spray when doing long grass in paddocks 2ft parramatta grass would stop many mowers this baby cuts straight threw easy as, just slow down and let it cut and no clogging or stalling just powered thru :) so far very happy, these are super quick too 9klm an HR and man you notice it mowing time was way down, even my neighbour commented (he has Zero turn for speed) reckons it looks like I am going twice as fast across the yard so we will see after some more time, which is one thing I miss no hour meter? why not? should be standard, anyway probably get one fitted. The cut is a better but deck is arranged different old mower deck was angled so blades overlapped when going straight ahead, this infinity version has counter rotating blades and are mounted straight there was the odd tall bit of grass left after one cut didn't notice on lawn part where I mulched it looks great. Will review again after 50Hrs or so. everything, speed, cut, comfort, tough construction, easy access for maintenance suits my yard layout very happy. No hour meter?

Update After breaking another 3 belts I have SOLD it and bought another Husqvarna, better machine and much happier with mowing.
OK – I may be misguided,(based on my belt failure today) but I still love my Kubota machine. I will try very hard to avoid mowing over small sticks in the future. is good. I think this mower is designed for smooth lawns with no hidden sticks in longish grass on a rural property. I bought my new T2080 6 months ago based on having owned two Kubota tractors (L series) over the last 20 years. I came to associate the brand 'Kubota' with quality. However, I must say I am disappointed with the power and mowing deck design of the T2080. Within 1 week I had a broken deck drive belt AND idler tension pulley. Kubota paid for repairs. Thank you Kubota. However, I have now melted another deck drive belt, because a 15mm stick, hidden in grass, was thrown up under the deck and lodged between the belt and a pulley. This happened twice. The first time I removed the safety cover and re-installed the belt. The second time I was not so lucky, I have a melted belt. Perhaps I chose the wrong product. I will pay for a new belt this time. But my long established confidence in the brand is being eroded.
Only just ok – We have had a T2080 now for 18 months. The machine has destroyed two horrendously expensive drive belts in no time. Looking for an aftermarket belt for the next time. Great mower – I have owned this mower for about 5 years now and it has been faultless. I paid around $6000 delivered with mulch kit and small metal/poly tipper trailer. The T1670 costs a little more than the other brands but is worth it due to the build strength/quality. every level. The only big problem I have is the cost of genuine parts from Kubota. They are just ridiculously expensive in Australia, but I suppose this is the case with most spare parts. I left the cover of it one day and the kids jumped on and turned the ignition on whilst playing and it which jumped 200 hrs on the hour meter before I realised the ignition was on. This is due to the fact that the timer works when the ignition is on not when the engine is running. They don't touch it any more? I look after my mower like a baby, it's garaged/covered and serviced every 50 hrs. This is a brilliant mower and I love mowing the lawn with it. I have the added mulch attachment and it is brilliant. I fitted a standard towball and use it to pull our boat out of the garage which is about 1000kg and it does it with no problems. Also fitted a 50mm rubber nudge bar to the bumper bar which protects the front end. The T1670 is a 5 Star mower, built like a tank and so reliable.
Utter rubbish for Kubota – To reduce wear and warranty risks , this unit only drives ONE rear wheel ! Traction was hopeless . The infinity deck can only cope with short grass since it's actually a mulching design . Kohler SV23hp range engine was a disaster . Knocked under load . out . Dealer didn't fix this either ! I ditched at 22 hours on another
Kubota Dealer , for a BX2360MMM : a real machine ! Was informed by
this Dealer that Kubota wouldn't pay for rectification of what they
considered was T2380 dealer fault . Isn't that wonderful . Lies all around.
Carby packed in on next buyer at 48 hours . Was replaced at Dealer's expense ! Seat/operator floor suspension excellent : shocks too . Rubbish and cheap engine , poor deck design ; can't mulch and throw in one design ! ONE wheel drive !

T2380 - Expensive, Over-rated belt-chewer!! – Moved to 5 acres and bought my first ride-on, a Kubota T2380, because of reputation and smooth talking salesman at Dural near Sydney. me - they claimed it wasn't a warranty issue. Still throwing belts and finally chewed 2nd drive belt one month after warranty expired. Dealers said "out of warranty" but only charged parts because service in warranty should have picked up problem. They said pulleys needed replacing and said I must have been misusing!! I only have grass, no bush, so can't see how that is possible. Hundreds of dollars later, supposedly repaired, and it chewed another drive belt after only second time out. Service people don't want to know about it now because repair was start of winter and destroyed belt was start of spring so 3 months warranty on repair has expired even though only 5 hours of mowing since repair.
So, rubbish machine and rubbish after sales service. I won't touch a Kubota ever again. If Kubota was once a reputable brand, those days are well gone. Comfortable when running Runs roughly, throws belt and destroys them,

After so so long I manage to find the right size blet. For kubota t2080. Correct size blet is B65 for deck belt cutting grass.
