Excellent slow juicer – I purchased this juicer for about $80 when Aldi had reduced the price. When I got it home my mum said it looked exactly the same as her $300 one. It works well and makes beautiful fresh juices. At first it was very hard to get it apart to clean it, as I read in the other reviews but it seems to get easier with use. Have had it for about a year now and no problems with it.  Show details

Love this juicer – After having bought a range of juicers over the years, and we do own a Vitamix, I love this simple slow juicer, preferring some of the pulp to be removed. We rearranged the kitchen to make space for all our appliances, and this is the one that is used the most. Love it.

Great Juicer but difficult to dismantle – The juicer does a good job of juicing. The problem comes when I need to dismantle it to clean it. It is virtually impossible to pull apart. The top twists off as designed but the heavy plastic spiral auger is nigh on impossible to lift out. My wife has no hope of doing it. I have to get my hands in and try and lever it up, jamming my hands against… Read more

the sides of the plastic body (it hasn't broken yet). I have to wobble it around and keep trying to lift it. I get skinned knuckles each time and estimate it takes 10 minutes of frustrating hard work to lift it out. I am hoping it may get a bit looser with use (it is a hassle to take back and I have thrown away the receipt and packaging - a bad habit of mine). Couldn't recommend it because of this fault.

Note that since posting this review I got some helpful advice from another reviewer. The suggestion to run it in reverse prior to dismantling solved the problem. I strongly suggest to Aldi/Kuchef that they modify the included video instructions to include this advice and solve potential future issues.

Quiet and Efficient – Very happy with the results this juicer produces. Excellent value and better performing than other much more expensive brands. Although tricky to dismantle initially we have discovered that if you put it into reverse before turning off, then giving the central auger a twist anti-clockwise it will lift out by the basket much more easily. Also have… Read more

found that it gets a bit easier each time we use it. We would recommend this juicer as a great purchase.

I love it! – It juices well like the high end juicers, quiet , clean and dry pulp. The only thing is that I can't juice continuously for the fear it may overheat but it is recommendable in general for that reasonable price. I bought several units as Christmas present to my sibling, I know they'll like it.

Great – Great slow process juicer. We use this daily for a family of 5. Easy to clean. Quiet enough to juice while others in the house are sleeping. Just need a bigger fridge for all the fruit and veg the family now consume! The pulp comes out bone dry except for tomatoes and grapes, which I run though twice (still several magnitudes better than the… Read more

centrifugal juicers I have owned).

Tips for other users:

- Alternate between soft and hard fruits and veg while juicing. for example carrot being hard will tend to push through something soft like lemon. Finish with some hard fruits/veg to clear the machine and make cleaning easier.

- To make disassembly simple, wet all the components immediately before use then assemble - inside of bowl, auger inside and out, strainer and scraper. Run 1/4 cup of water through last after ingredients - doesn't have to dilute your juice, just run that into a separate glass and tip out. Finally, run in reverse for a moment. Our 9 year old daughter can pull ours apart easily.

- Cut fibrous ingredients small across the fibre to prevent slow down and maximise juice output. e.g. I cut celery in 2cm pieces across the stem and ginger finely (0.5cm) across the grain.

- Avoid relatively dry and fibrous materials like drier ginger and process them last as they can clog the screen and slow things down. It doesn't stop it or require cleaning, just slows things down as the machine pushes things through a finer (semi-blocked) screen.

Our chickens love the pulp (except citrus).

Great Value and does the job – I've used my juicer about five times and each time, juice has come out great with no un-juiced pieces left behind. Juicer has a strong 800 watt motor and a 2 year warranty. Aldi must have changed the design of their machine since the last reviews as my juicer is so easy to take apart and clean. Clean up is done in minutes and so is the re-assembly.… Read more

Only suggestion for future design would be to make the strainer basket stronger as it is a little on the thin side so have to be careful to remove all hard cores/seeds/skin

December 16th 2014 Update:

Bought my KuChef juicer from Aldi for$49-00. It has a strong 800watt motor. Easy to come apart and clean. Does all my juicing with ease. And to top it off, the price was just right! Also comes with a two year warranty!Highly recommend this juicer.

Tastes and smells of burnt plastic even after one use, getting worse – have used mine three times, each time dreadfful smell of burnt plastic due to friction of rotating upper part on lower part when fruit is pushed through, whole kitchen smelt of burnt plastic tonight, drink tasted of same! looks like a design fault, used exactly as advised in booklet.ugh! taking it back for refund tomorrow!

Good product, very resonable, 3 yr warranty – The juicer performs quite well for the price. Good 3 yr warranty. It is easier to clean than my Breville. The juice has a much stronger taste and brighter. The pulp is dryer. The only major problem I have with the juicer is disassembling. If you are a woman or older, give it a miss. My hands are sore from trying to remove the auger. I put it in… Read more

reverse. Both the top and auger are hard to grasp, it took me over 30 mins to disassemble. My 24 year old daughter could not remove the auger either for cleaning. If it persists, I will be taking it back for a refund. See if the staff at Aldi can disassemble it!

I have found in the past some difficulty in returning goods to Aldi, despite their guarantees. It usually takes assertiveness and persistence.

Would I recommend the jiucer - Yes it does what it says.

BUT, I would only recommend to persons with access to men with strong hands! Juice has stronger taste, keeps in better condition, does not lose its colour Very difficult to dismantle
