Lanshan 2

Lanshan 2 Ultralight Tent – I purchased this 3F UL ultralight tent form AliExpress off the back of a few reviews that I found on the web and youtube. The intention was for a 6-day hike of the Overland Track in Tasmania. I wanted a low price lightweight tent that was easy to set up and very waterproof. This tent easily met my criteria. weather, the construction integrity is such that I would expect it could handle challenging weather of wind and rain. It is extremely waterproof once the tie out tabs on the end are treated with a bit of waterproofing (with a sealer suitable for silnylon). The compact storage size didn't rob a lot of back-pack space. Although I found it easier to strap on externally for my convenience. Weighing in at approx 1kg, it also didn't add too much burden to my pack's overall weight. The 3 season inner was enough for the weather I encountered but I have since purchased the 4 seasons inner to reduce wind flow a little as there is some air gap between the fly and the ground (it did offer good ventilation and kept condensation down). Some of the rope connections took a little bit of thought to get right but once mastered, the setup is a snap and takes less than 5 minutes from scratch. Trekking poles are essential as the tent has no poles of its own. There is ample space for one person and some gear although if your height is much more than 6 foot, you may feel the inner on your toes or head. I don't think I could go past the value for money that this tent offers. Hands down, it was a great tent for my trip and many comments were given and plenty of others on the track showed a lot of interest in getting one after they had a close up look at its setup. For the money, it really was a no brainer. Only time will tell about its long term durability but the silnylon outer has my confidence as does the well constructed inner and quality of manufacture. Just be aware that the storage bag that comes with the tent is NOT waterproof.
