Marketed to be similar to Afterpay, nothing like Afterpay! BEWARE, my credit score dropped by 66 points
Warning, long and detailed review ahead about losing a chunk off my credit score after their credit check, somehow being approved on my application BUT not being able to use the promotion that made me interested in using Latitude Pay in the first place because of identification issues. Just to be clear, I sent an email and called to resolve the issue but nothing was done and this was over the course of a week.
I signed up for Lattitude Pay because I needed to purchase some items from Catch.com.au and they had a promotion if you used Latitude...Pay to pay for your order then you get $15 off your entire order. Sounded simple and easy so I went on the Lattitude site, put my details in, ticked the box to get a credit check without thinking too much and put my license number in to verify my identity. For some reason I was approved but they "couldn't verify my identity" so I couldn't and still can't even use Latitude Pay or their promotion to checkout. I waited patiently, their promotion changed to $25 off the whole order till THIS Sunday so I tried to call and they said they'll get in touch with me once they have a solution. In the meantime, my credit score went down 66 points and I know it's from their check, I was expecting a drop and maybe I was naive but wasn't expecting 66 points?! And I can't make myself feel better about that by actually using their promotion because I'm not verified. If you can't verify someone then don't approve their application and do credit checks dropping credit scores like it's nothing. The two screenshots I've attached is what keeps popping up when I try to use Lattitude Pay and it just goes back and forth between the two when I click the links.
I wish I could give them 0 for customer service.
- never answer phone calls, waited in line for 70 minutes then another 25 min
- never call back as they promised
- sent them two emails five days apart, still no reply
Avoid them like plague
Great so far, almost no complaints
I have placed one order using latitude pay so far, the sign up process was really easy and fast, straight up i was approved $500. I've read other's on here have had issue's signing up but for some reason my sign up was very easy. The one complaint i have is the customer service is not very good, i had to cancel my card due to my wallet being stolen, i sent latitude an email so they could reschedule the payment, i got no response and the payment was obviously declined so they froze my account and charged me a $10 late fee. i ended up calling the...number (which wasn't easy to find) and after being on hold for 20 minute's the machine took my number for a call back, half hour later they called, they couldn't find the email i sent but unfroze my account and credited the late fee to my account and the payments are now back on schedule. coincidentally about 10 minutes after that call i finally got a response to the email telling me my account looks fine. be nice once more store's are available with latitude pay.
Lattitude Pay Is A Scam To Make You Pay Their Affiliate 'equifax' For A Credit Report #customer Baiting.
Absolute garbage and a scam to make people pay for a credit report ...Shady way to make money off people by deliberately setting up the latitude pay application to bait people by saying they have $600 etc approved to spend , then fail the rest of the application by not giving options to enter bank account details , say the id cannot be verified - even though they ask for your driver's license or passport - ( which I provided) and end the process...Then send an email with a link to an unheard of credit company obviously linked to them , ...selling the applicant a credit report ... This is a scam , customer baiting and this is illegal in nsw ...And you bet you balls that I'm lodging a complaint with the nsw consumer affairs ..... I'm sticking with afterpay - been with the for 3 years without any problems . Don't waste your time on this scam.. Not to be trusted ..Look at the email I got from them!
Time wasters!(Wish I could give zero stars)
After filling out all online forms they could not verify my ID from my licence so I was unable to proceed until further notice. Sent message asking for assistance, which they said they would respond to in one business day, I waited 5 days and finally got response which made no sense as it was not checked prior to sending but from what I can understand they are unable to verify my ID and thats pretty much it. No other options. No further assistance. Latitude are a joke! Have tried to deal with them twice and both times were a waste of my time. Thank you for convincing me to take my business elsewhere :) (Would give it zero stars if it were an option)
Difficult to sign up
I found Latitude Pay impossible to get an account with. They do a credit check which I feel is debatable, it seems to me an online generated response. They are as bad as Zippay to get an account with. I'll stick with Afterpay much nicer company to deal with.
Dont do it is payment is every-week , 10 weeks just means 5 payday week or 2months
Silly take payment every week, should every fortnight because people forget make sure money in bank. account for every second week.. No app to check
Everyone better off use After-pay is only 4 payments every payday
If want longer payment use Zippay for every payment a month.
Ruin Your Credit Rating
Dont bother. The credit check marks your credit report making a negative impact for any future lending applications.
[name removed] from customer service decides to send me a generic copy and pasted email about being rejected due to my credit rating.. interesting given I have accounts with Afterpay, Humm and Openpay. Sure they will appreciate the increased business thanks to these fools.
Unable to apply for Latitude Pay
Was shopping at The Good Guys last weekend and decided to apply instore for Latitude Pay which allows payments spread over 10 weeks. After 40 minutes of pure frustration and being redirected all over the shop, all I managed to achieve was signing up for a new account which now tells me I have 0 payments due. That's it. The promotional flyer they have tells you absolutely nothing of the process involved. Ended up putting my purchases on my credit card which I'll be hammered with high interest. Thanks Latitude for possibly hindering my excellent credit rating and providing me with something I can't use. Totally useless.
During the application process, I was immediately denied even before submitting any type of identification. Similar to Reviewer Jake, they said some hoopla that they have enquired on my credit report without so much as a piece of valid ID. Their Customer Service leaves plenty of room in quality.

I was never a fan of latitude financial services until they offered latitude pay I'm converted now I will never use another buy now pay later service and I can't wait for them to get more stores.
they offer a payment plan over a 10 week. Which is great.
Be aware that this company will place an enquiry on your credit report even when not provided any proof of ID for the application. Anyone can enter your name and address (and a phone number, not necessarily yours.) In the initial stage of application. No identification such as drivers license is required before the credit report is accessed by them. This seems a very questionable practice.
