I have just sold mine. I would not recommend them for these reasons; *Costly to run was on its 3rd set of tyres at 80,000 kms *Front brakes replaced at 60,000 km *Engine overheated and blew up motor at 80,000 km. Took over 2 months to fix. *Rust forming on the bottom of the rear cargo door. *A would sure and jump and when driving. *Infotainment… Read more
screen developed bubbles behind the screen. *Chrome coating peeled off passenger side mirror before 5,000 km. Took abound 2 months to fix. *Servixe centres aren't owned by LDV which makes warranty claims difficult. Nice car but not woth the headache.
After owning an LDV, I can honestly say I would never purchase another one again. What started as excitement over a new vehicle quickly turned into ongoing stress, frustration, and disappointment. Throughout my ownership, the vehicle experienced multiple serious issues including: • Structural faults, including loose body-to-chassis components … Read more
• Ongoing drivetrain problems with clunky and jerking gear changes • Repeated mechanical faults requiring ongoing repair attempts • Adaptive cruise control randomly malfunctioning and failing • Loud squealing noises when the braking system would unexpectedly activate • Being repeatedly told these faults and noises were “normal” despite the ongoing problems
The fact that repairs were attempted does not change the reality that the vehicle was not of acceptable quality. The faults were recurring, unresolved, and significantly impacted the safety, reliability, and overall confidence in the vehicle. Had I been aware of these issues beforehand, I never would have purchased the vehicle.
Time and time again I raised concerns and felt dismissed, with little accountability or genuine support provided by LDV. Instead of peace of mind, the vehicle caused ongoing inconvenience, financial stress, and constant worry.
After repeatedly trying to have these issues properly addressed and getting nowhere, I have now made the decision to trade the vehicle in because I simply could not continue dealing with the problems anymore.
Based on my experience, I would absolutely never buy another LDV or recommend one to anyone else.
Incredibly good value for money. Regularly go offroading and put it through some abuse and it has actually held up incredibly well. I wish my model had diff locks though Show details
Do not Purchase as this company has the worst after sales service and will cost a fortune in repairs as they do not honour warranty , I have had many new cars including Chinese brands like BYD and GWM who are fantastic but LDV is the worst i have ever dealt with. I can see why so many people take legal action Show details
jurky d90 – a issue has started on my d90 diesel where the engine will lurch and splutter the fisrt time car is used on the day, does this for 100 mtrs then all is normal, my guess is theres air in the fuel line, vehicle is a 2023 model and so far travelled approx 11000. vehicle was booked in for investigation but had to reschedule, so am wondering is this a major problem Show details
D90 is good value, but after sales service is terrible!! – I own 30+ Company cars, I had an employee that needed 7 seater for their kids. Bought a new D90 in 2023, its a good car for the price you pay, and very practical, BUT.... It broke down in limp mode at 2 weeks old with check engine light, got towed back to Mile End SA LDV, shocking customer service!! then at 12 months old, the same thing again, and… Read more
towed back to Mile End LDV, we chase it after 2 weeks, "sorry havnt looked at yet, will try next week..." No loan car provided!! Never buy a car if it has to be serviced by Mile End LDV, they get 0% for their customer care!!
Excellent Value – I looked at this car over a year ago as an option for my son/daughter in law. They haven't changed cars yet. This year i wanted to upgrade from my 2012 Pajero. I looked at the LDV, Pajero Sport (diesel - last Pajero model), Ford Everest (expensive) and the GWM Tank (Poor payload 397-440kg). I want plenty of storage room for the fishing gear,… Read more
boogie boards, fridge and other gear when we do road trips. The problem was i couldn't see any LDV's on the road so i went to the showroom. The car was well equipped with big screen, electric sun roof, plenty of storage room and extremely comfortable seating. When the salesman asked if i wanted a test drive i took the opportunity because i struggled to understand how a 2Lt motor would power such a big vehicle even with twin turbos. It drove like a car - responsive, light handling and more features than i was used to. ABN holders saved $2300 and the dealer was selling 2023 stock at a discount so it was a no brainer. Fast forward 6 weeks a technology learning curve and several fishing trips with multiple passengers and it has proved to be a great buy. When i looked back at the 2012 purchase documents for the Pajero it came in at $59k. This purchase, even with the car mats, exterior/interior care package came in $12+k less. It really makes you wonder how do they do it for the price? Week 2 i had an idiot swerve at high speed from the left lane at the last minute to avoid hitting a car turning left directly in front of me - the LDV braked faster than i could as i turned right to avoid a collision - well done car!!
LDV from John McGrath worst experience of my life – Couldn’t tow without going into limp mode, had the EGR go causing the car to lose power whilst being driven at 100km/hr (requiring major work to the emissions system). The engine blew up (less than 36,000km)with enough force to warp the engine block. The new engine installed without our knowledge was done incorrectly, leading to oil dripping onto… Read more
the exhaust with toxic fumes entering car whilst being driven making us dizzy and nauseous. All work carried out by original dealer. Dealer has refused request from Fair Trading as they believe the engine replacement is a suitable remedy
Great Value SUV, with BMWesque fittings without the price guilt – Bought the 2.0L Turbo Luxe (pre-executive trim) which was actually better equipped than the 2020+ executive. Panoramic sunroof Ambient Lighting Heated & ventilated seats Carplay Rear diff locker proximity sensor key active cruise control - can also be the bain of your life, just set cruise to 5kmh over signposted as this tends to stay 2-3kmh… Read more
under the target speed you name it this has it.
Have done 1000k's in her now and touch wood no issues. The engine is small but does minimise excessive fuel use from atmospheric v6's. Around town i get around 11L/100k's and on highway runs 9L/100k Only use unleaded 95 though.
Do have a couple of warranty issues to sort out though in that the mirror flood lights have degraded and automatic gear shifter handle is cracking. Oh and the key is a PoS - have since replaced. I think the MMI is also due for an update along with the cruise control.
perfect for the price – not a bad car just very hard to get parts to service them Show details
No problems 3 years ownership – Awesome service by Brenton at Rockingham LDV. After sale service very good, Over all good value for money Show details
Bang for buck this is great – Just bought a 2nd hand D90 with 50k on the clock. First impressions are excellent and the drive is great!! easy to steer and park (evn though it's slightly shorter than an oil tanker); heaps of extras and works well. Show details
Great value for money – Been a great car with plenty of room. Couple of things could be refined by manufacturer but for the price can live with them. Show details

Absolute LEMON – Bought LDV D90 in Dec 2020, dashboard didn't work on pick up day, cruise control never worked, engine light comes on every few days. Taken back to dealership which they then keep my car for longer then 3 weeks at a time. No offer of a car to drive. Staff are extremely rude. Dashboard was replaced after 12 months, cruise control started working… Read more
once new dashboard was put in, issues with engine light every few days they can't explain and the car goes into limp mode and I have to have it towed to LDV and they then keep for 3 weeks or more. But still no answers. STAY AWAY from LDV. I do love the size of the vehicle I just wish that buying brand new it would actually do what I paid for and be reliable for me and my children. :(
This car is perfect – The D90 is a really good car to drive. And when you take it to get it serviced they are really helpful and reliable. Good customer service and they look after your vehicle. Show details
Excellent for the price – 4 months ownership with daily mix of local and freeway driving has been faultless. For its size its fuel efficient with avg of 7.8 driven mainly in sport mode. Missing 360 parking camera and heated seats is only criticism. Show details
Electronics – Purchased D90 4x4 diesel in November 2022 and have had it back to dealership a number of times for the same issue that they can’t resolve. Problem 1 - During a Bluetooth phone call, after several minutes the person can no longer hear me but I can hear them. It’s like I’ve pressed mute. This has also happened whilst using CarPlay, however people… Read more
can’t hear me clearly when I’m using this as it’s drops in and out or is crackly. LDV said it only works with a genuine Apple cord which I use and has made no difference. Their solution to the phone dropping out during a call whilst driving is to pick up my phone and record this happening. I’ve explained it’s illegal to do this and LDV has insisted that’s this is the only way they can try to fix problem. Problem 2 - Whilst on cruise control I have nearly been hit from behind on several occasions. When doing the speed limit on cruise control on a trilane road, I can be in the right hand lane, going around a right hand bend, with a vehicle in the left hand lane and the car will suddenly brake as it detects the slower moving vehicle.
15000klms and going well – Victoria, have used the car predominately for travel to and from work generally around 50klms each way. Used to go on longer trips around Victoria towing a camper trailer (approx 3.5t) no issues at all. Adaptive cruise can be a pain at times but otherwise no complaints, family love it Show details
Rubbish – Second time I bring this crap to level service, today still got no answer for why while I’m on 2 line freeway driving 110 took me back to 30 and nearly had an accident with a truck, very bad customer service, they told me they ring me back but they never do i need to contact them all the time and still got no answer, they don’t even give me… Read more
another car to go to work saying that they not support that , now I got no car no job and $47,000 wasted Never by this rubbish

Such a lemon of a car – We have just clocked 5000km on our car. We were excited to purchase for our disability business but have sadly not been able to use it much. When we drive on a three lane highway 110km we have been trapped on the inside lane and the car just loses power and goes back through the gears to 2nd gear and we have to try and negotiate through the speedy… Read more
traffic to get to the side of the road. They did an update and we did not see the issue for a little bit BUT it then decided that it would not work in 4wd or eco or anything other than auto. We would select and it would just change back. No the loss of power occurs pretty much every time we go up any type of incline. The issues were reported when the car had under 200km on it and we asked for the car to be exchanged as it was a lemon. Maybe it was made on a Friday when everyone was keen to get to knock off drinks. I have completed every feedback survey they have sent me begging them to contact me to rectify but I only here....nothing. Has been back to the shop so many times and they say...hmmm that is unusual we have never heard of those issues.
Very happy – Bought in April 2021. Just coming up to 15,000 Kms and have enjoyed every one. Took a while to interpret settings on the infotainment system but the dealer was very helpful. Family of four all over 6 feet tall fit in extremely comfortably with a Labrador in the boot. Plenty of room. Feels luxurious at a low cost. Pleasure to drive around town and… Read more

Only 1100 kms to date – Use car for work, so far OK, use car daily Frustrating support direct from LDV whom could not advise how to set the clock - total lack of info in the handbook on the display unit (shame unit is OK but you have to play with it to work things out). Brakes very spongy - advised thats normal from the dealer it works it self out after a couple of… Read more
1000k's (i Call crap and get them looked at on the 5k service) Enough of negative - I drive fairly lightly getting approx 9.6 L/100k's - comfortable - fairly good acceleration - great on cruising - as advised I have only done 1000ks, I will try and update this at 5000k's after i have done a few longer trips.
Don’t bother – Do not buy this car unless you are open to the idea of constant trips back to the dealer to sort out many issues. Today was the 4th trip back to the dealer in 6 weeks of ownership, where they don’t know Jon to fix the issue and so I’ll be taking it back a 5th time for them to try and fix it. Ridiculous for a new. Customer service don’t care about customer service. Just. Don’t. Bother. Show details
Half the price of a Prado but Better – Had the car for 4000ks over the last 4 months goes and tows well at half the price of a Prado but with all the modern features you would expect of a highend car ... but LDV D90 deisel 4*4 is under $47000. Show details
