LDV - Never again – My LDV T60 Max Pro 2022 was used for private & commuting to work as a daily driver. The car was serviced by the LDV dealership where it was purchased as per their requirements. Issues were reported for investigation during service but the dealership service department always tried to dismiss them or say I would need to book in for a separate day… Read more

to have them looked at. If checked they always said "technician unable to find". Issues: - Minor glitches from purchase date including cruise control dropping out & then sometimes not working at all, vibration in dash & when slowing down; - 5 months for minor smash repairs with issues ranging from the insurance repairer refusing to do LDV vehicles, delay finding repairer with others quoting LDV parts delays, 2nd repairer having disagreements with insurer over repair costs & 3rd repairer waiting on repair approval; - Ongoing vibration reported to LDV, they said technician was unable to find any; - Serviced & software updated then on return it had no air conditioning, a further booking date failed to diagnose the issue. Was booked in for further diagnosis but then had an issue with gearbox not changing out of D3 - had to be put into manual then back to auto to get gears working again. After this the cruise control dropped out again on busy highway & it wouldn't go over 80kmh - stopped turned off for a while then restarted & issue cleared but then engine light came on. Towed to dealership where it spent 6 weeks being diagnosed/repaired (which was under warranty). Dealership said delay was waiting on repair procedure/process from LDV. For 2 weeks no loan or hire car was provided by LDV while mine was off the road. Their own policy states I should have been given one after 48hrs. They did provide one for the last 4 weeks. - 5 days after being returned as repaired, the Check 4wd fault light came on for about 24hrs, LDV advised it was ok to drive to the dealer, on drive there vibration was bad especially downhill in D5 before changing into D6 when it would smooth itself out; - Frustrated at this point I sold the T60 back to the dealer at a big loss, I'd had enough of this vehicle. Owned for 19 months & was off the road for 6.5 months of that. - LDV have refused to compensate me for out of pocket expenses due to warranty/faults (which ACCC say I'm entitled to) including towing (they paid about $500 of a $700 bill), not having a vehicle for 2 weeks, extra travel to/from dealer due to warranty faults/issues diagnosis & then the unreasonable repair time, loss in resale value as with faults coming up (even after it was "repaired") my opinion was it was unsaleable on private used market so sold to dealer at a loss; - Although ACCC outlined my entitlements for me they don't do anything but refer you to the state body being NSW Fair Trading who said they cannot help as they cannot order a company to pay compensation (even though ACCC say "when a product causes the consumer to suffer other loss or damage, they also have a right to compensation. This is in addition to getting a repair, replacement, or refund. https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/problem-with-a-product-or-service-you-bought/claiming-compensation". NSW Fair Trading advised getting legal advice & going to NCAT (NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal), something I'm unsure about given the relatively small amount of compensation I was requesting. Caveat Emptor on the vehicles & after sales services.

ECU and DPF – G’day . My 07/2018 LDV dual cab has been a great Ute . There is some differences in approach to build quality mainly relating to paint coverage and sun withering . The systems on the car work well apart from the usual glitches with auto lights and auto wipers . You can’t tow my builders trailer without wanting to disable them because it thinks a… Read more

dodge ram is about to hit you . The reversing camera is not as good as the Ford Ranger I Had when my Ute was being repaired after being stolen . A lot of things about that Ranger impressed me . The way the windscreen water jets work . It’s a well engineered and deservedly popular car . It’s hideously expensive in my view . The LDV cost me $30k in ‘18 ..let’s say $10 or $15 k more for the newer one . The Rangers base price as a hire car with the 2.2 twin hair dryer engine and a gearbox with more speeds than my gravel bike along with the temperament of a bipolar p#ssy cat did not make me feel like it is a car I can drive until there are lots of numbers on the odometer and the book price is $86k .

Regardless of what you drive things stop working . It’s how you keep it working that matters . So my Ute develops a problem that my mechanic missed and caused it drop into limp mode . I replace the dry air intercooler hose and jack up the truck and remove the DPF filter …then clean out with special stuff . Put it all back together however I am still unable to clear codes . I bought a “ better “ OBD scanner ( onboard diagnostic…) that could see the problem and a few other minor ones about the car that I was not able to clear but certainly identify . I don’t know if my readers can see the invoice from the dealer ..the technician noted a fault in the wiring for the front seat airbags . I saw it as well with my scan tool . The report says “ open circuit squib connector . Parts and labour to rectify $ 977 . Wow . As an experienced technician myself with decades of experience 9 times out of 10 the problem is simple and obvious Fault finding is based on a set of known truths , putting the problem into a “ novel problem “ or a “ routine problem “ having 5 steps in the first and 4 in the second . A fault like that may well be solved by looking under the seats to find chisels and beer bottles have dislodged the connector .,or any number of upstream things that tell the ECU what to think The technician is not going to fix it in 3 minutes if he knew he could . Maybe if the connector was broken and the repair could be done with soldering iron and heat shrink it would be fine but not because it’s connected to an airbag This is where things get out of order . Only the manufacturer with agency to dealer has the codes to clear the ECU of this permanent stored code . I took it to a local diesel expert with a 5 week old $6000 computer OBD reader and could not do it

So now I’m forced to deal with the car dealer .Good news is it’s 21 days to get in to have a procedure done that would take as long as a massage and a haircut . So I’m down $400 / $600 a day the whole time as a Carpenter

How would you be if you were in ..say a regional town without the major dealers but a good few automotive engineers who know what they are about . They can’t fix the car . Why is the intellectual property not part of the car like the engine and seats ? . I had a car towed 12 kms a while ago and it cost $190

Thankfully I had a service advisor who cared

I am interested to study what Australian consumer law says about this . Bought a truck with “ the million engine “ that can be stopped by an engine code ?

Punchy little 2 litre – Drives great and really responsive once you put a throttle control module on it to take out a lot of that off the mark lag which I find can be a hazard when negating a busy intersection. The SHUDDER when pulling up at the lights is a little annoying and should be addressed through LDV and I also find that between 55 to 70 km/h the entire vehicle… Read more

shudders through the drive line and even through the steering wheel and takes away the enjoyment of driving in suburban areas given that 50-60km/h is the speed limit, I have taken it back and they tell me that they took another brand new one for a drive and apparently it’s the same if not worse. Again, unexceptable and I will want this fixed as I don’t believe it’s normal. The rear Diff has acquired a drone already and is only 1000km on the clock…. Yes1000! When first bought, I went for a drive to a popular camping destination which was a 75km up hill drive along a gazetted dirt/bitumen road and when I reached the top the vehicle decided to throw a emission control code and placed the vehicle into limp mode(171 km on the odometer and two days old!) The roadside assistance saw fit to say that I am on my own and will need to find my own way back even though it was a council maintained road.(Thanks LDV for that awesome day!) 24 hrs later it would reveal that a wire I think on a sensor to do with the purge solenoid to the emission system or something like that had vibrated on the edge of a bolt head and earthed out creating a short circuit. Couldn’t believe it! As for the options when purchasing, what you see is basic what you get! I did not want the lux model because it had Leather seats and I did not want that but I wasn’t able to have that as an option so I opted for the MAX. I wanted push button start but you can’t have that as an option either, you have to purchase the max. I wanted 360 view but that wasn’t an option either. And it goes on and on, You either have one or the other. LDV have made a very nice vehicle but they most definitely need to allow options and include better safety features as there competition has. It also wouldn’t hurt to actually put some paint under the chassis as it is already showing signs of surface rust(1100 km on the clock) but I’m pretty sure they will have to fix that problem under warranty.

Absolutely disgusted – Our ute has had problems since the day we bought it home, fresh from the car yard in Tamworth. Nothing but problems and have been told they will not do anything about it. We were laughed at by the dealership people and will never buy another car from this mob again. Show details

Engine Still running when turned off – After purchasing my second T60 in April 2023 I have problem after problem. Firstly brand new car pulling to left. tyre business and will take 4 hours. Picked car up and tyre dealership said the whole alignment was out. So it says to me that the car dealership treats you as an idiot. Second and dangerous fault is car engine still running after turned off and keys removed. I rang LDV in Sydney but they said I need proof and contact dealership. After getting proof I sent to dealership and the car was back there for 3 weeks. They confirmed that LDV said change ignition and it was. I have had car home for 2 weeks and the problem has started again. So car going back again for how long who knows. Do not buy T60 diesel turbo as no one wants to take responsibility.

"manufacturer" leaves customers to battle out warranty issues with dealers, they won't get involved.

Update, LDV customer service stated that they "recommend" purchasers only deal with the dealership that sold the car for warranty work like this. This should be made crystal clear to all LDV purchasers before signing any contract. So, based on the response I just received, if a Hobart resident holidaying in Darwin winds up in a situation where he/she purchases an LDV vehicle while in Darwin to immediately return to Hobart with it and experiences a warranty issue, LDV will not intervene to expidite the repair of the MANUFACTURING FAULT, LDV customer service will instead tell the customer to take it back to Darwin if they want the MANUFACTURER'S FAULT assessed/repaired in a timely manner. LET THAT SINK IN.

etc. No roof rails. Fan comes on from time to time once car has stopped and makes a lot of noise for about 5 minutes "like it's over heating and about to explode" Left USB port working momentarily. Air indicators either wrong or tires losing pressure from word go!! Ave fuel consumption 650 to 700 kms. Decent clearance and storage for standard ute. Cluster only has very basic functions. The steering gears are probably the worst I have used. Don't bother!! Dash is tinny hard stuff. Would rather GWM. You get a lot more bang for buck.

I'm not upset...I'm disappointed – Basically everything covered in the above review is bang on: https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/0b1ba47c-ec32-41c6-84d7-ad2f402d0a85 -There is a well known oil leak that was meant to get fixed but just wasn't. the blind spot indicators work properly. -Tonnes of UI (radio, music, Bluetooth) problems -Cheap features, terrible QA - I go to pull the fuel opener and the whole thing pops out of the socket. -If you lock out the steering wheel there is a terrible metallic sound

Honestly, the only reason it get's two stars because it's cheap and has more or less got me from A-B. Though the whole oil leak and lack of any attention to detail on any features leaves me worried about when this bad boy gets out of warranty. Oh and it looks half good from the outside, that's about it.

Honestly, just bite the bullet and buy something that will last.

Great Car I've owned it since Jan 2018 – Great Value and reliable. Yes it does have some interesting features that I can live with. I will give you bad before the good. 1.) On my model the suspension is what I call truckish AKA bouncy Not so great on corrugated dirt corners but 4WD high takes care of adequately. I think the newer models have better suspension. 2.) You can turn on the… Read more

accessories leave it on and flatten battery especially if the fan stays on. Upside is that if you attempt to lock it it lets you know that the accessories are on and you have to turn them off. 3.) Leave a USB in the left hand USB slot in the dash. It will reset your date and time. Upside a dealer supplied update has fixed this. 4.) Occasionally the Media display goes blank or the reverse camera doesn't work. It runs Android a bit like you Samsung phone and it gets caught in a loop. try holding the HOME button down for 30 seconds to reset it. 5.) Sometimes the headlights don't quite align when they go through the self test process and the headlight error light stays on. This a very tricky fix for this. Put the car in Park turn the ignition off and then start it again. - this happened to me about 10 times in almost 4 years. 6.) Paint is a bit thin

And yes I have sent it to a dealer but the issues are so infrequent and intermittent that they scratch their heads and other bits.

Before I get onto the good here is a DON"T EVER DO IT. DON"T ever disconnect the battery, even if it's flat. If you do you will end up having it towed to the dealer to get the system to recognise UID, I have not found anyone that has a way around that. if there is please let me know.

If you do get a flat battery - And I have numerous times thanks to accessories being left on.

1.) Jump start it. It keeps enough charge in the system to remember the UID info. Just DON'T disconnect the battery to do something clever like put it on a battery charger. 2.) If you flattened the battery by leaving the accessories on, get the car connected using jumper leads to another car or battery then turn the accessories off because it remembers it was on. Let it get some charge in the battery and then try.

Now the good stuff. It is really economical, It has more than enough power and torque to tow things without issue. I have been off road in it numerous times and it performs really well. Mine is stock standard no fancy bits added.

It has been ridiculously reliable. It just keeps going. I regularly drive through the middle of Kosciuszko national park - and I don't mean on the main hwy either - on some of the hilliest and windy roads around and it just drives well.

I tow a 5M boat no issues, and it pulls a box trailer with too much soil in it no problems. The tub is larger than most of the others e.g. Ford ranger or BT50 and maybe the hilux as well.

So yes it has a few small issues but over all it is a good solid reliable car. the only options I have added are an ECB nudge bar and some 9" Domin8r driving lights and a lightbar

Purchased New Feb 2020 LDV Pro - Realistic Expectations Achieved & Some – Vehicle was very well priced when compared to Ranger & LOW-Lux. Great warranty and local dealer support and have had no issues what so ever in 18 months & 25000km. prepared to pay for was the $500 dark blue paint. Yes a bit rough with no load in it but it's a true 1 ton ute and that's what you get. Would I buy another one? Hell yes and next time it will be the top of the range that hits the market in about 12 months with a much better power plant. Dislikes? yes I have a few but they are not show stoppers. Reversing camera is crap, touch screen not very sensitive or intuitive. Blind spot monitoring needs to be turned of at night during wet weather as it picks up the white lines and you can not switch off the reversing sensors when backing up a trailer. Go drive a entry level diesel, manual, dual cab Ranger and Hilux, look at the price and what you get for that price and then go drive the T60, compare insurance, fuel economy, service and parts costs as well . Don't be a brand snob and honestly ask yourself what's the best value for money. Depreciation is a concern but better to have 43% on 27K over 3 years than 35% on 50K over 3 years and be driving a lower spec vehicle that cost you 20K more. Also better off road than the Hilux :o)

shocking, just a blur really. Android connect doesn't work properly. No blue tooth music streaming. The steering wheel buttons don't light up at night, so using cruise control is made difficult. Not sure why they made the fuel door illuminate but not the steering wheel controls. The engine is ridiculously noisy, probably the noisiest diesel I've ever heard. I've driven trucks with quieter engines. The gearbox is clunky, but not as clunky as my back after a long drive, the seats have little to no support. Visually it looks ok, but why did they make.the bonnet fold up at the edges creating blind spots for parking etc? Headlights are average, virtually no difference between high and low beam, maybe they could have spent some money on better lights instead of wanky directional lighting that really doesn't help with anything. . The tonneau cover is really cheap, and doesn't fit or seal correctly. Roof rails are too short to be useful, and even if you did put a cross bar on them, they are inches higher than the tub bar. For $29k drive away I can see why companies buy them, but I wouldn't recommend ever buying one for personal or even as a work car. This review is written after only 2 days of driving one.

Ok, so after 1 week of driving, all I can say is, this car is classic Chinese. Everything works, it's just that nothing working well and most of the "features" you'd be better off not having on this car. For a ute that classed as a work car, it simply does not have enough power. An extra 10-15kw is all it would take. Towing a lightly loaded 6x4 trailer is hard work, don't expect to be able to sit on 80 going up a slight incline. Replace the stereo with something that is not complete garbage. (Contacted Dealer re the radio coming on loud on start up, they say that's just the way it is).... how can a head unit/infotainment system be so back? It's like LDV just wanted to tick that 10" screen box, so they found some ebay garbage and called it it day. I cannot stress how bad this unit is. There is literally so many issues with it.

Remove the adaptive headlight feature. Im sick of watching the light beam shift all over the road when driving and getting flashed by oncoming traffic. Speaking on lights, did LDV forget to install reverse lights? Try reversing in the dark and you'll soon realise that that blurry reverse camera is completely unusable.

To summarise This is your classic Chinese junk im surprised its not sold on eBay as a kit. Spend the extra 5k and get something else.... anything else.
