Leitner Atlas

The ordering process was easy & the bicycle was delivered to my home in regional Victoria the following day. Assembly of the bike was straightforward, however upon completion the headset was found to be loose and required adjustment. My first impession after assembly was that the bike appeard to be built to a very good standard and had several nice features such as a colour display, front and rear lights, brake light and proper mudguards. However after owning the bike for a while now I noticed that there some things that could be improved. -The kick stand needs work. It is too low when retracted and severely restricts ground clearance, particularly when traversing gutters and curbs. The instruction manual also states "Do not use the stand if there is any luggage on the bike". This is a cargo bike, the stand should be capable of at least suporting the bike when loaded to the 50kg rear rack limit. - I am 174cm tall and the seat post is near it's maximum extension limit at my preferred setting. Taller riders may not have enough seat height adjustment. - Leitner should have made the load carrying accessories displayed in marketing material available when the bike was first released for sale. Without these accessories full functionality as a cargo bike is not available. - I would prefer the rear rack to be lower. This would make the bike more stable when loaded. There is enough room between the rack and mud guard. On the upside, I have enjoyed using the Atlas and it replaces my car for most trips around town. Living in a reasonably flat area I have found the lowest level of electric assistance to be adequite for most situations, which has resulted in more than 80km of range being available with a single battery. The Atlas is a good quality product at a resonable price point compared to many of it's competitors.
