If I could give zero stars I would – I purchased an LG OLED65BT Smart TV approximately 18 months ago from Harvey Norman for a massive price tag of over $6000. One would expect I would have the “bees knees” of Smart TV’s for the price I paid, however since purchasing the TV I've had nothing but trouble. Within the first year of owning the TV, the first problem started. The TV… Read more

freezes when viewing free to air. I contacted LG within the 12 month warranty period and was advised to do a factory reset and that they would send out a technician to inspect the issue at my cost! To which I refused.

Why should I be responsible for the costs of a product under warranty? I performed the factory reset and unfortunately this made no difference to the issue of the TV freezing.

I contacted LG on numerous occasions regarding the freezing and had no luck at getting this issue addressed. As LG didn’t seem interested in helping a loyal customer with a product fault I decided to let the LG warranty period run out, and to try and have the TV repaired or replaced under the Harvey Norman product care which was purchased with the TV.

I contacted Harvey Norman regarding the first issue of the TV freezing whilst viewing free to air and another two issues which arose; screen burn and channel loss. Harvey Norman contacted LG to organize a technician to remove and repair the TV.

The screen burn, freezing and channel loss issues were supposedly rectified and the TV was returned within 24 hours, without a functioning remote control. Unfortunately not all the issues had been rectified and within the week the TV was freezing again and the channel loss was still occurring.

Having to ring Harvey Norman again to advise the issues had not been rectified the Technician was back to take the TV again. The TV was loaded into the back of an open Ute in wet weather, not ideal. Believing this was unacceptable I advised the technician if there was any water damage to the TV from traveling in the back of a Ute it would need to be replaced.

The LG Technician returned the TV within 48 hours; again the issues were supposedly rectified. 3 days later the TV was still freezing. Yet another call to Harvey Norman and I was advised an LG Product Representative would contact me to discuss options going forward. LG contacted me and I was advised they would not replace the TV until they got a third report. LG sent out a technician for the third time. He checked the aerial, said there was nothing that appeared to be wrong, and said there was nothing they could do and left the premises.

I was advised by Harvey Norman on numerous occasions that LG Management would contact me. I am still yet to hear from them……..it’s been 2 weeks!

Having had enough of being messed about I requested Harvey Norman deal directly with LG to come to an agreed outcome. LG advised Harvey Norman that they would only deal directly with me as the customer. Guess this only works if LG actually make the effort to contact me.

I have purchased many LG products in the past, all which have been quality and trouble free. Marketing and selling this product as “Top of the Range New Technology” is misleading and deceptive.

LG what disgraceful customer service, shame on you! You have lost a loyal customer out of this.

Never a better time to buy – Now in runout you won't find a better time to buy this TV. The design is modern sleek with an ultra slim panel and a small stable and attractive Stand which has a small footprint. You buy a TV for picture quality and this picture is easily the best in class of any 55inch models. The Sound is as good or better than anything else in the market. Just… Read more

add a soundbase from the likes of Canton or Cambridge audio if you want ton'beef up' the sound. The OS is easy to use, and you get the highest wifi protocol for connecting to a home network ie 802.11'ac' or there is an Ethernet cable if required.

Ample HDMI, optical and you regular array of other connectors..... so you are not missing out to any competitors. Coming back to the picture quality it's unmatched compared to similar products from other manufacturers. TV viewing, and streaming are compatible with 4K which means you can stream 4 K content where available ie Netflix. Bluray is amazing DVD great and 4K UHD bluray I imagine would be spectular based on the sources I have viewed. The big selling point is the LG's HDR capability given it covers both current methods (HDR10 and Dolby vision) whereas other manufactures have opted for one or the other... so this TV is as future proof as you will get in a TV!

Freeview plus, HDD recording it all here and as it is OLED the best available tech producing the best picture. The absolute succcessor to the old Pioneer Plasmas, which in the day were unrivalled. Buy now at a bargin price before they're gone. Don't pay more than $2850 if you do your research

Fantastic Picture – Our LG OLED55B6T-T 55" UHD 4K TV is connected through ethernet to the internet where we watch programs through Optus cable and free to air programs either via cable or directly off-air. Sound is through an optically connected LG Soundbar. The wifi connection also works well. The picture from free to air or DVD is the best I can recall seeing.… Read more

The OLED screen is visible over almost the entire 180 degree field and colour is superb. Sound is excellent through the soundbar and good through internal speakers.

Most menu operations are intuitive and straight forward although using the GUIDE button on the remote control gives a full channel list, exiting from it is messy as EXIT/RETURN takes yo to another menu. A trivial complaint really. Setup for internet and connected devices has proved simple too.

I was very impressed with the low power consumption. Out of curiosity I measured it and noted 0.3W on standby and approx 100W running. This is very economical for a 55" TV, much lower than similar sized LCD or plasma TV's.

All in all a great TV.

Great product – Personally I love this tv. Great price to because of option to take away 3D. Great picture, true colours, particularly love watching the cricket on it and its sounds pretty good too. High quality for a pretty good price. Still kicking strong after all this time. Worth it as someone who loves quality tech at a quality price  Show details

Crisps and insane picture – Wow this TV is amazing! Crisp picture, colours are eye popping and HDR will blow you head off. I'm bit of a TV wench and keep upgrading every couple of years but Im very set on this TV. 4K HDR. I dont use the smart features (ie netflix, stan etc) due to me using an apple tv however just the picture quality alone makes me drool.  Show details

Like your on set of the movies – The picture is absolutely amazing, it’s as if you on set at the movie. You can see all the fine details and the smallest bead of sweat on actors faces. This technology is fantastic with bright colours and crisp pictures you can’t ask for better quality or sound. The sound is also extremely crisp.  Show details

Exceptional quality for entry level OLED – Very sharp picture quality that best is accentuated when viewing movies, aided by true blacks. The WEBos is easy to use and magic remote is quick and effective. The ports are plentiful and the TV has a very enjoyable look. The built in speakers are adequate, however not fantastic. If it can be bought around the $2000 mark, it is worth it.  Show details

Fantastic TV – I love this TV since I purchased and although extremely expensive it is probably worth the outlay. The picture is the same across all LG OLED models so it is worth just buying… Read more

the cheap version as you still get the same picture. The smart features are beyond fault and I use it for Netflix and Stan which all run faultlessly. I wouldnt trade this TV for anything. I really dont understand why Samsung and Panasonic havent embraced Dolby Vision they are losing millions in revenue in my belief.

Picture Quality is Immense – Picture quality on this thing is unreal. Even after two months of using it I am still astounded at how good it is. Prefect TV in 2017 – The TV has excellent black color background. This is great value with combination of internal installed audio system. Great sound and great graphic. I reckon this is the best TV over 2017 and 2018. Black background defiantly gives you more defined detail graphic. However, the normal steaming TV channel does not support 4k. It's good PS4 gamings and DVD, even blu-ray.,  Show details

Perfect – One distinguishing feature of this LG TV is the picture quality. It is quite pricey but we couldn't be happier with our purchase. recommend getting a sound bar. Has all required including a HDMI ARC and an additional HDMI port. the Smart tv apps are great and the menu is quite responsive. However unless you have Apple TV it’s almost impossible to connect an Apple device. Additionally at times I found certain jpeg images won’t display and I have no idea why. Generally photos directly from a camera work but any exported from creative applications haven’t work for me so far. but all in all for picture quality, sound and ports this tv is absolutely brilliant.

a bit of image burn after a long time but the pixels are definitely self healing, takes a few days of normal use but does heal. Music apps are the worst, without some sort of screensaver you end up with the pause or play symbol stuck to your screen for a few days, all in all worth every cent

Quality better than expected – Despite the more costly price, the OLED had significantly clearer and more defined picture quality in comparison to many other TV screens in the in-store shop. The screen size was also a considerably large size, but fit well into our home without taking up too much space as the frame was thin.  Show details

Great TV but a bit expensive – The picture quality was way better than I expected. It was a big risk with the price of the TV but I decided to give in. I don't really regret it but still a bit expensive. The 2 HDMI ports, in my opinion, are not enough. In other TV's at the same price point have 4 HDMI ports. Build quality feels and looks premium.
