Great panel, short life expectancy! – The TV panel itself is incredible, the life of the unit is short. Mine stopped working 1 year ago, so I got 4 years use out of it, a 2017 model. The company should make customers aware of the life expectancy of the panels, I would of bought extra warranty had I known. Show details

does not have parts to fix the problem. The TV is only four years old and it cost me $3200 to buy. The solution was to offer me $1333.33 to replace / buy a new OLED TV.
LG wants me to be out of pocket for their incompetence to make spare parts available.
I will never buy another LG product, and most certainly I will make sure no one with in my network ever buys an LG product.
Very poor and disappointing from LG

LG has failed its consumers – This series of LGs OLED when new were anything between $3500 and $4000. Very expensive and buyers would and should expect high levels of ongoing LG support but my experience is that when it comes to support LG abandons it’s customers. Software and App Store updates for these very expensive televisions is extremely poor and calls to LG support… Read more
result only in disinterest and stonewalling. For example the failure to provide proper updates to the WebOS software means the device does not support contemporary apps like AppleTV. Yet in 2020 21 LG is knocking out high volume el cheapo 55 inch TVs which they will happily keep the WebOS and apps up to date no doubt in the short term to keep sales up but how long for? Will also add that the advertisements that said the LG OLEDS had the blackest blacks in my experience is not true. Any low light digital blacks are poorer than ordinary IPS panels. Case example was the final series of game of thrones, the night battle was basically unwatchable on the LG OLED.
LG you should be ashamed.

Best TV ever – Amazing quality picture, very smart tv with many functions, including voice commands and direct access to YouTube and the internet in general. Extreme clear in which every detail is captured. Super light and very thin.(Thinner than a iPhone) Wish that it had an SD card entry but that’s not really an issue. Highly recommended. Show details
Amazing picture quality and incredibly easy to operate – I love everything about it. It’s the best TV I have had.. the picture is so beautiful with amazing colors and contrasts. It’s so easy to operate as it has a mouse pointer so there is no need to use the arrow buttons to move the cursor. The sound is very good too, although I did buy a sound bar to go with it. Can't get better than an OLED TV – We were so excited about this TV because we have been waiting for about 6 months to get it. The quality of the pictures are amazing especially with the 4G movies from netflix. And the design is so perfect, thin and modern looking. My son can't stop watching his youtube movies on it. The remote control has a little wheel in the middle working like a computer mouse. It's brilliant. Show details
Awesome Picture and Surprising Sound – Picture of the OLED is next level!! I was wanting an OLED for sometime but not prepared to pay the price so when these bad boys were on sale after boxing day I snapped one up with much joy. I was expecting crappy sound like most flat screen TVs however there was reasonable range and volume available... you could getaway without having a sound… Read more

Only slight complaints are some of the navigation in web OS is a little hokey and PVR can only record one program and you have to watch the program being recorded...
Excited to own one!! – Absolutely breath taking. I bought this tv a month ago and I could thank LG enough. Amazing product and so easy to use. As previously owner of Samsung tv i will never go back to it. Poor product after its warrantee period and started to lose its clarity, then audio. But this one might be promising. Show details
The best your money can buy – LG is the leader of Oled's in the industry. The Oled is a better technology than Samsung Qled (feel free to confirm this with your own research, but this is the fact). The 4K HDR resolution, the frame rate, the infinite pixels etc all make this TV amazing. I bought this one over the OLED65E6T (the model above this) as the only difference in them… Read more
is the latter has speakers installed. However I have a surround sound system so don't need that. Oleds are the future and this TV is revolutionary.
such clarity – This thin screen sits nicely on the wall. The picture clarity is outstanding and everyone who comes into our house is blown away with the picture quality. We are enjoying exploring Foxtel and netfix on it and it has met our every expectation in every way. A fantastic viewing investment. Show details
Outstanding TV – Awesome picture quality and the best 3D I've ever seen on a TV. I have racked up over 2300 hours on mine and it hasn't missed a beat, whether it be for gaming, FTA TV, Netflix and Blu-rays. The curve is great if you are sitting in front of it but makes for warped viewing at wide viewing angles. Show details
Awesome TV – Always read that OLED's had the best picture by far and wasn't sure this to be true until i finally purchased my first OLED. and have to agree, the picture quality surpasses even samsungs new QLED, not to be mistaken with OLED, isn't that right samsung Show details
Brilliant – We were extremely surprised with the clarity of the picture and the overall simplicity functionality of the LG television. The sound is surprisingly clear. It is easy to hook up to other devices and the apps nad systems are simple to use. The entire family love the new addition to the family Show details

not happy with the pause function, it limited up to 1 hour only – we are very very happy with TV's picture quality and built-in speakers sound. the picture same as my old CRT TV. but i can't pause TV for more than one hour. after pause one hour, the TV will automatically play again. my old and cheap set top box is doing better than that, as long as you connect a big size of USB HDD. A bit disappointed. Show details
Stunning – Stunning picture we have ours on the HDR setting, we have the sound through our older LG soundbar, the pictures when watching programs like the British escape to the country are beautiful you feel in awe. The magic remote is very good and the TV looks good in a room, the speakers are ok, but it's better with a LG soundbar and woofer. Very happy I purchased this TV and upgraded from my older good 49 inch LG high definition modal. Show details
Wonderful pucture – The quality of this tv is excellent. Seeing actors on it is really unbelievable - you can see every wrinkle & flaw which I couldn't see with my older television. The sound is good quality too, although we have added a sound system to ours. Everyone who visits comments on the picture quality. We think it was very well priced too. Show details
Amazing TV – Wow, we thought our previous 4K TV was good until it died and we replaced it with this one. A snappy quad core processor makes navigating this TV a breeze with the webs OS. Great for streaming and netflix with reasonable built in sound. The real star here is the picture quality with natural refresh rate and really deep blacks that makes viewing an… Read more
absolute pleasure. We ummed and ahhed about paying more but it was worth every cent. Good connectivity and super sleek.
Great TV, amazing interface and features! – The picture quality of this TV is great, since it’s OLED each pixel isn’t dependent on a backlight and gives you great colours. The built in speakers are great, they have lots of settings to give you a surround sound experience without a surround sound system. The TV has lots of HDMI ports and only one AV port The operating system of… Read more
this TV is great is frequently recevies updates that allows it to stay working at a great speed with constant new features.
Perfect smart TV for everyday living and entertainment – Very slim panel with true black color (other brands don't have the OLED technology and therefore can only show a grey-ish black). The smart connectivity functions are great for a modern home setup: built-in apps such as Netflix are so convenient that I don't need to hook up a PlayStation to the TV anymore. A Wii-alike remote enables you to point and click, and even allow you to engage in some games. Can't wait to try Jurassic World 3D on it!! Show details
Brilliant TV – Truly black, blacks. Energy efficient. Decent sound built in although I have an additional soundbar which provides a little more base. Plenty of HDMI ports and a good smart OS. Really loving the clarity of the picture and depth of colours. Watching movies, sport and day to day TV on this is a dream. Show details
Amazing image quality – It was hard at first to convince myself to spend the extra to get an OLED TV. However after many glowing reviews online and very few negatives I decided to take the plunge. Immediate thoughts are that Free to Air TV is completely wasted on it, It continues to look terrible. The real magic starts when you fire up netflix and the UHD discs. 4k… Read more
detail is truly mind boggling and the way the image pops out just feels so natural like. I think it will be impossible to go back to a non OLED tv in the future unless something better comes along. Dark scenes in HDR look fantastic.
It should be mentioned that I paid extra to get the screen calibrated which is WELL WORTH the cost.
Truly amazing TV – OLED tv's are simply stunning with regards to accurate and punchy colour, high definition, and contrast ratio. I was going to go for another Sony (KD55X9300D) but a tech savvy mate suggest I check out the LG OLED TV's. I checked out both the Sony and the LG's in different stores and was very impressed by the LG and not so impressed with the… Read more
sony...even though it has some pretty high end motion flow tech I could see slight ghosting, and I saw it at multiple stores. The LG on the other hand was perfect, and then I managed to find the LG and the Sony side by side at JB HiFi and wow there really was a huge difference.I also love 3D stuff and this LG is pretty much the last OLED 3D 4K tv that will be made as most manufacturers are getting out of 3D, but I was hesitant of the passive 3D of the LG versus the active shutter 3D of the sony. I have looked at passive 3D tv's before and I can always see the interlacing but I will say that the 4K 3D OLED screen is in a whole new class, and the interlacing isn't noticeable at all. And the benefit of passive are significant too (very wide viewing angle, if you tilt your head you don't get image distortion or purple colouring and the distance you sit from the screen can be far greater). I'm not sure if it is due to the curved screen but my wife can sit at the table doing jewellery and be 4m away and significantly off to the right of the TV and she can still watch normal TV easily BUT to our surprise you can watch 3D from that position too.
It's easy to use this TV as well...the magic remote with it's "mouse pointer" makes it fast and easy to navigate through the functions. I haven't had to read the instructions for the TV because 99% of the menus are intuitive and easy to find. Also the tv can play virtually any file (all mkv's I've tried too) providing that you put it on a USB and plug it in directly. Trying to use DLNA to get it from your computer doesn't work well at all because it doesn't recognise "non-windows" file types and doesn't show them, but that is NOT a fault of the LG tv, that is a DLNA issue.
To sum it up: Beautiful images, no ghosting or juddering, plays everything, amazing 3D and in a 4K package. It's truly an amazing bit of tech that I am so glad I bought, even though I spent more than I intended too.

Stunning Picture Quality and Amazing 3D – I decided it was time to step up to a 4K TV and I have done a lot of research. There sure are a lot of TV's out there to choose from and I chose the LG OLED55C6T after reading very positive reviews and also I love watching 3D movies and the LG had everything I wanted. AGAIN SONY) I purchased the LG and and have never looked back, I am so happy with it. The picture quality is superb and also I was able to watch 3D movies as soon as I took the LG out of the box.
Just beautiful – The previous reviewer says it all really. Really stunning TV. I love it. Much more money than I thought I'd ever spend on a telly but I once I'd seen one on display I couldn't get anything else, because I knew I'd regret it. The remote is easy to figure out and the interface is pretty user friendly. This is brand new and I haven't had to test… Read more
out LG's customer service yet, here's hoping that I never need to.
**EDIT** It's dropped a couple of stars IMO. Picture is still terrific, but the software goes out of date way too quickly. I can't get apps that I want, specifically Paramount+ or Foxtel, and now I've discovered the Apple TV app doesn't work on this operating system either. You can download it, but it doesn't work. For an expensive smart TV that's not good enough. Losing functionality in a few years is terrible value. How often do they think people buy TVs? Wont buy LG again, I'll buy a cheap brand with android if they're going out of date so quickly anyway.
LG OLED tv - Suddenly I have a TV addiction – Perhaps like me you have waited years for your trusty old TV set to die of natural causes so at least you have an excuse for your obvious materialism when you buy that beautiful big new TV you have always wanted. But alas, after all this time there is still nothing wrong with the stupid thing, and so you hatch an evil plan to convince your family… Read more
and friends. It`s a good investment you`ll argue, just think of all the money we`ll save on electricity by buying that brand new energy efficient TV. And I think I saw a pixel do something funny the other day, it must be on it`s way out! Finally your campaign pays off. Your family and friends tire of your relentless shallow logic and begin to urge you to buy a TV as soon as humanly possible if nothing else but to end their misery.
Whatever the motive for buying a new TV, you might think it would be a joyful moment to actually then go buy one, but there is an obstacle. The formidable obstacle of choice. You begin to look eagerly for the next junk mail TV catalogues to compare them for the bargain of the century, and you are willing to dig into your recycling bin and scavenge them out when a family member has discarded them without your consent. You feel bombarded with the latest enticing offers on your trusty old TV, as if that old friend is now turned against you in unrequited love, taunting you to go with another if you dare. The quest for the right TV consumes you and you are in danger of becoming a public nuisance in the TV section of your local retailers. You decide to ask your good friend Mr Google for some advice and so begins your arduous journey to read every review ever written on your short list of 20 TV`s.
I hope this simple review will help you find solace and an end to your dilemma of choice. My review is a simple one. The specifications of this television are readily available online and I would encourage you to read up, yet my purpose here is more to convey my most compelling reasons for my buying this particular TV along with my experience of owning it over the last few months.
I had seen this TV on it`s magnificent LG stand and had always stopped to admire it above most others in the shop. Take a confoundingly thin piece of glass and surround it with a bezel so thin it practically vanishes, mould that glass with the skill of an artist into an elegant but unmistakeable curve along it`s entire length, incorporate some advanced electronics, place it upon a see-through plinth that creates the illusion of it floating in mid-air and what do you have? You have the absolutely remarkable and beautiful LG OLED55C6T television.
SIZE: Yes this one is 55inch and might be considered on the small side by some, but it is truly sufficient for our average sized lounge room. It has a bigger 65inch brother though if you so desire. Considering the size and viewing distance when buying a TV is sensible, but if you are watching this TV at it`s highest resolutions you can sit ridiculously close to it, and still, it`s adorable picture quality is not diminished by pixelization. Of course any TV magically becomes much larger the closer you sit to it so consider the seating distance. I love the curvature of the TV as if it is welcoming you to sit down and be entertained. Whether it is actually more immersive or better on the eye due to curve probably comes down to individual perception though.
SOUND: The Harman/kardon designed speakers are just ok, the sound quality is not a strong point in my opinion. I would recommend adding a decent sound bar or sound system to make it great.
CONNECTIVITY: There are ample ports hidden on the left side but easily accessible. 3 x HDMI 2.0a,1 x USB 3.0, 2 s USB2.0, RF, Component, Headphone, Audio Optical out, and LAN + 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, and bluetooth, and it will stream 4K UHD. You can also Miracast / screen share your phone to the TV via Wi-Fi. Great for sharing those phone pics. HDD recording is available along with voice command via the remote.
3D: I enjoy 3D but the majority do not care for it. Hence why most manufacturers have dropped this feature altogether. LG are lingering on but are scaling this feature back even though this TV has the most remarkable 3D I have ever seen. I find it a shame that 3D is being discarded just as 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range) screens which improve the 3D experience are becoming much more common. 3D can be a bit of a mystery to some but here are a few things to know. This TV like many other 3D TV`s can convert 2d to 3D on the fly. This means that you can convert any 2d picture source into 3D at the touch of a button, be it a DVD, a streaming video and even TV broadcasts. DOLBY VISION sources (which I will mention later) seem to be the only exception to this. Love it or not, 3D certainly adds something special. Sport for instance is quite interesting to watch in simulated 3D although the picture depth is inward only and cannot pop out of the screen. Watching movies such as The Avengers: Age of ULTRON or Transformers is remarkable in simulated 3D. Of course if you have a true 3D filmed source (for example side by side video) then the 3D can pop out of the screen with great effect and have you ducking out of the way. YouTube via the TV`s wonderful apps is a great source for these videos. The 3D depth can be adjusted manually to compensate for any eyestrain if require, and also has an auto setting because not all 3D is filmed at the same depth. Two lightweight passive glasses are included and they are cheap to buy online if more required.
4K, HDR, UHD, UPSCALING, If you are buying a TV of this calibre, then you would be crazy to ignore these features in your next TV. This TV is capable of displaying 4K which is 3840 x 2160 pixels – nearly four times the resolution of high definition 1080p. HDR (High Dynamic Range) is also very desirable and becoming much more common as movie makers use superior cameras and modern filming techniques which effectively increase the picture luminosity and add to your viewing experience. There is a format war going on with the introduction of HDR. Many TV`s will play the more common HDR10 format and some others will play the Dolby Vision format which is technically superior. No need to worry though, the LG will play them both which helps to make it a little more future proof. The LG also up-scales wonderfully. Even a standard DVD`s detail is improved dramatically as it up-scales. Blu-ray, as good as it already is also improved as the LG performs it`s upscaling magic.
OLED: Organic Light Emitting Diodes. No other manufacturer can yet match LG for this display technology. It enables the TV to be extremely thin, use less energy, produce deeper blacks (perfect blacks are promised) and to display higher contrast ratios and higher refresh rates than most any other comparable LCD television. It is not often that a device is said to do something perfect, but the LG does black perfectly which is something special. In “Stranger Things” there is a scene in which a brightly lit girl is standing in a pitch black dimension. The contrast of the totally black world against the girl is absolutely striking on the OLED. By nature, the viewing angle of OLED is also vastly superior to it`s LCD rivals. Out of the box the screen settings are good but there are a myriad of adjustments to tailor your picture modes to taste.
CONTENT: Std. definition free to air TV will look ordinary on any TV, but this is not why you buy a TV of this standard. If you want to see what this baby can really do, then you will add a Blu-ray player at least. Perhaps you will go to Youtube via the excellent smart app system built in and watch some true 4K or true 3D content. But for me, watching movies and TV series in UHD /4K via Netflix is a perfect match. The OLED55C6T is a Netflix recommended TV, but beware, if you subscribe to their top subscription to stream their high res movies you will need a fast NBN connection. Netflix recommends a download speed of at least 25Mbps to stream 4K UHD which you can connect via Wi-fi or direct Cat 6 cable. The tv also uses the excellent webOS 3.0 system for apps management and a Magic Remote that doesn’t seem to need line of sight to work. Freeview is built into both the remote and the TV, and the TV comes with pre-installed apps which can be customised and added to.
In summary, yes you can buy a 55inch 4k UHD TV for under $600 these days and certainly for most people that will be sufficient and quite acceptable. But for those who want the very best and for whom price is not the primary motivating factor, then the LG OLED should be on top that short list for sure. Someone once said that “Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten”. I am still smarting a little even having bought the TV at it`s lowest ever advertised price only two months ago, but that memory fades very quickly every time I sit down to enjoy this amazing TV.
