Poor quality and Poor customer service – I purchased the TV close to release, it worked great for some time. The picture quality was fantastic. Unfortunately, after a few years there is severe discolouration on the screen. There is a large green circle in the centre, and vertical green bars across the bottom. It is not burn in. It appears based on other customer feedback to be related… Read more

to a factory fault due to overheating circuitry behind the panel.

It happened very quickly (wasn't there one day, was the next), and is hugely discoloured particularly when reds/oranges are displayed. It happened after my warranty expired and LG have refused to repair or replace the panel due to the fault.

In line with other comments, I'd recommend purchasing another brand.

Burn in marks on T.V screen 2nd time around – I purchased the T.V in 2017. Took additional warranty with Harvey Norman. 2 years ago they replaced the internal unit because of burn in marks that appeared. 2 years later we are back with burn in marks on T.V. Just contacted Harvey Norman and will now not cover these issues. I have read other peoples experiences and obviously this is a serious… Read more

fault with this T.V and from our experience repairs to the T.V does not resolve this issue. The photo attached shows a bar across the bottom and dark area bottom right corner. Different backgrounds raise other faults. The dark area right corner has shown up in a dark green colour on different background.

Don’t buy this TV – Initially we loved this TV, great display UNTIL we got the dreaded black horizontal line through the middle of the tv. After about 5-6 weeks the line turned into thousands of lines now covering 1/4 of the display. Funnily enough this jumped from one side of the screen to the other. I called a service technician when we had the single black line… Read more

and he said there is nothing we can do about it, so now with 1/4 of the screen blacked out I’m guessing this is now a very expensive mistake. We have always had Samsung TVs and never had any issues with them. This will be the last LG tv I purchase, nice while it lasted but lesson learned.

SCREEN BURN IN DO NOT BUY!!!!! – DO NOT BUY!!!!! We purchased our 55’’ Oled 4K 7/3/18. 4 months ago we noticed pale green channel decos were showing on our screen. They weren’t visible all the time as white and some colours hid them but red, orange and yellow made them show up as if they were meant to be there. I was thinking it was something the channels had done like a water… Read more

mark on a photo so ignored it until just after Christmas I had a look at my sons TV. Nope the marks weren’t there! That’s when I realised it was a problem with the TV. I contacted product care and they sent a repair man to pick it up. He looked at it and left it saying it was burn in and he had received an email from product care before Christmas saying they would no longer cover burn in but would send them a report and see how we go. Alarmed I started making plans on how I was going to get it covered if they wouldn’t do it. Step one contact LG. If no cover from them go to Step 2, contact consumer affairs and let them handle it. I had no reservations doing this as WHO has $3000 spare to buy a new TV every 2nd year??? I knew full well Consumer Affairs would MAKE them honour the warranty and or product. Checking the internet it said LG amongst other brands won’t cover burn in either but that was on Cnet which is a USA site. Thankfully my worry’s were short lived. Product care has given me a store credit which I have used to buy a Samsung 65” 4K Qled. Whilst the picture isn’t quite as good as the LG the size and price outweigh the picture. Couple that with the fact Samsung has a 10 year screen burn in guarantee this is definitely the one to choose!

screen replaced after 4 years under warranty (original title: wow! black is BLACK now! Stunning image qualilty ) – update Oct 2021: after 4 years the screen showed vertical stripes, especially visible with red, orange and yellow backgrounds. I contacted lg support, supplied the original tax invoice and pictures of the fault and they replaced the panel within 1 week for free. 2 techs came to my place - i didn't have to pay a cent. Good service by LG. I think… Read more ·  1

I'm becoming an LG fanboy now ;)

i am hard to please when it comes to tvs and it was quite a saga until i found this tv which satisfied me. first i bought a samsung 4k tv, but it had a dead pixel so it went back to the seller. then i bought a hisense 4k tv but the image quality was not good at all and the menu kept crashing. so i thought: ok, i'll exchange the hisense for one of the best rated tvs at the time: this one. the first thing which stands out are the colors, and the blackness of the black. it's unbelievable. it's really a new level of watching tv. streaming 4k content via netflix or stan is breathtaking. I still remember watching the animation moana, the first 4k movie i've seen on the tv. i was in disbelief how detailed everything was. the smart apps work just fine, streaming stan and netflix or sbs on demand is no problem, so is youtube. remote has voice-control which is handy too. ports are ok too. speakers are nothing special but i bought a sonos soundbar which is a great addon and was easy to install. overall i'm very happy to have spent the $2700. i've never spent that much on a tv, but this one is worth it. only negative i have to point out, which is unfortunately the case with all smart tvs i've tested is that the picture gets blurry and show strange artefacts in fast-moving scences e.g. action movies. it's a shame that even a $2700 tv is struggling, but all tvs are like that - i haven't found a tv which can handle that. i'm using the "smooth" motion blur feature on this one which is not too bad. hopefully in a few years this issue will be resolved by a new generation of tvs.

One of the best TVs around, with minor annoyances – Image quality and contrast outmatch almost every other available TV. UI is very good (though complex) and processing is fast. Controller’s air-mouse functionality works well. Netflix works well in 4K if you have fast broadband. Plays 4K HDR videos from a USB storage device perfectly, but with limited subtitle support (text formats only). Wireless… Read more

features good. Will stream video from a PC with a somewhat annoying media server application but not from a standard network share.

The difference between 4K and 1080P can be subtle on the 55” if not close to the screen, and it’s hard to be sure of the extent of the difference HDR makes without a side-by-side comparison, but colours look great in any content and detail and colours in Planet Earth 2 and Blue Planet 2’s 4K HDR versions are breathtaking.

The most serious flaw is that the screen dims when most of it is covered in white or near-white. With power-saving features disabled it’s less frequent than in plasmas and most OLEDs (including B7 series), and rarely noticeable in normal content, but very noticeable if using it as a PC display. Tweaking OLED panel brightness can apparently solve it entirely at the expense of average brightness.

“Soap opera effect” was an issue until I disabled TrueMotion.

Panel and bevel are implausibly thin, though lower back section is chunkier. Stand does not swivel.

One of the four HDMI ports broke without cause after a month. LG says they’ll send someone out to fix it.

Edit: Supports composite but not component input, in case you need that for a Wii or something.

Fantastic TV, Burnt in, then replaced – The OLED display is incredible and was so for the first 2-3 years until the dreaded burn-in kicked in. I was going to warn others of this via a review but LG came out and swiftly replaced the screen free of charge despite the tv being now over 4 years old! Unbelievable customer service resulting in the return of an unbelievable display. Show reply

Screen replaced despite expired warranty – Despite the expired warranty, a screen replacement has been arranged by a friendly LG representative and performed later by two skilled gentlemen from LG service team. The new flawless screen reminded me why I had decided to buy the LG OLED TV to begin with; The picture quality is simply unbeatable. Thank you, LG, for turning this experience into a very positive one after all. Show details ·  1

BEWARE burn in problems – Bought this c7 oled tv nearly 3 years ago, was happy at first but now have burn in at the bottom of the tv. Channel 9 logo plus other items along bottom of tv have been there for over 4 weeks now and will not go away, I believe a $3000 tv should last longer than 3 years. That's it for me for lg oled, just bought a 8k samsung 75 inch and reckon the picture is better than what the OLED ever was. Show details

lg but they are quick to dust their hands and say it’s been used outside of its design and no warranty extemely disappointed in lg and oled technology in general as most people have game consoles attached to main tv for themselves or kids or even things like news logos seem like the tv is too susceptible.

As for the tv itself “smart functions” are extremely slow and painful to use , the operating system very slow and clunky will be trying a diff brand when I go for a replacement

It’s been looked at under the extended warranty today the guys said burn in isnt covered but they will submit their findings to LG/HARVEY NORMAN or whoever and then go from there. Under ACCC laws they better replace/credit me cost $3000 not acceptable considering I read that LG claim OLED TVs can last 30,000hrs / 10yrs with no burn in!

Get an android TV instead – This smart TV (not android) does not have a Google Play store so that trying to download an app that is not already there is nigh on impossible. I wanted to stream Gaia TV but there is nowhere to do this. Really regret buying this TV although the quality of picture is very good and, like most modern TVs, you have to get a soundbar for decent sound. 3 HDMI ports and no problem getting wireless and Bluetooth. Show details

Good picture and sound – Have had this for about a year, speakers are great on this tv, sound is good especially watching 4K or HD. Picture quality is great and I use my XBOX X on it. Best TV on the market – One of the best TVs in terms of picture quality available. Not too expensive either considering the quality. God smart features and excellent build quality.
