Don’t waste your money – We had our a9 essential for less than 18 months before the problems started, both batteries stopped working, the power head stopped working, the turbo power mode stopped working, it alternates from high to low power like the filters are dirty but I’ve replaced them and they’re clean. The thing is an absolute lemon. Show details
Broke twice in same place over 2 years – We bought this vacuum cleaner just over two years ago. It has broken twice in the same place since purchase. The place it has broken in is the black suction joint where the main vacuum pipe plugs into. The 1st time it was repaired under warranty and the 2nd time LG is telling me that it is not covered under warranty. The quality of this product… Read more
for the amount we paid - $559 - is very poor. It broke for no reason other than, guess what, vacuuming the floor! Complete waste of money. Should have bought something cheaper. The customer service of LG in relation to getting this repaired and warranty claimed has been a really horrible experience. Both the whatsapp and online chat options for customer service have been rude, poor English (not actually making sense) and no return phone calls. I will not be buying LG products again.
3 year review - still the best cordless stick under $449 – I have had the A9 White for almost 3 years and use it daily as the main household vacuum. Far better than my old Vax Blade which was $100 less. Great suction and pickup even on the lowest setting (total 3 settings), very lightweight, quiet, low vibration, battery lasts 20 minutes, filters are removable in seconds (comes with 2 yellow pre-motor… Read more
plus 1x HEPA top lid), removable battery, wall charging dock and the brush roll never ever tangles with hair. Only downside is the average pickup on hard floors which needs a fluffy floorhead (sold separately). The dust bin is harder to empty when it's very full but you can use the crevice tool to twist and remove the internal metal filter and shake it out, no skin contact with dust.
The other reviews show breakage and weird smells but that's probably user error (how is a weird smell the fault of LG? Open and clean your vacuum) or maybe a bad batch. My A9 is does not have any broken bits, only scratches on the wand and floorhead. Even the battery still holds charge well after 3 years. I use my A9 several times a day, 7 days a week as a main household vacuum on carpet and tiles so much heavier duty than expected and it's still fine.
So after nearly 3.5 years of daily use, the battery holds good charge, the filters have just been replaced due to slight loss of suction and the brush roller head has never tangled with hair or fur. Nothing electrical or mechanical has failed. It's all intact. So overall a great vacuum for $399.
Wish I got a Dyson – The sales rep convinced us to get an LG so we did. It only kind of sucks things up if its on turbo. I have to go over the areas so many times as it does not suck well and when I lift the head off the ground dust and dirt comes out so then I need to vacuum over that area again. Show details
Works brilliantly on my carpet and tiles – We have a bird that drops seed and this picks up every little seed with ease. I've only ever needed to use the second battery a couple of times, but it is such a great feature to have. It's also quiet enough that I can use it while my baby is asleep! Show details · 1
DO NOT BUY! Terrible product with customer service to match – I bought this product as it was specifically recommended for use on hardwood floors. Whether the head of my particular vacuum was faulty or just poorly designed, it ended up severely scratching my floors to the point they will need re sanding. 2 small notches with sharp edges on the underside of the head sat closer to the floor rather than flush… Read more
on the head and it appears these are what caused the significant damage. Scratching is particularly evident when product was used parallel to walls. LG asked for my details, which I passed on and I was contacted a week later but was out, so couldn't provide serial number for vacuum. When asked when would be convenient to contact me, I advised the same time the following day so I ensured I made myself available. I was then not contacted until the following week. After a few phone calls, I was asked to send photos of the damage, which I did. Unfortunately our property was impacted by floods and the vacuum, which we ended up moving to the shed to use on cars, (bringing our old, corded Electrolux vacuum back into house as at least it wasn't causing further damage to our floors) was damaged by flood waters along with many other belongings, and the head was lost. As I was unable to provide the missing head, it would appear LG have simply washed their hands of the issue. It has been 4 weeks since I sent photos as requested, not even an acknowledgment to say email had been received. Very disappointed.
Exceeded expectations – I purchased another brand of stick vacuum in late November (4 weeks ago) and was really disappointed with its ability to work on a flat surface rug, so I sold it after an opportunity to receive this LG model as a gift with purchase from our LG Solar agent for ordering a solar power system. I am very impressed with the Vacuums quality, air… Read more · 1
filtration, ability and attachments including the stand and two batteries. Great for stairs and the car in addition to all areas of the house. You will not regret buying this!
Now $200 a year for batteries! – I was very happy with my LG A9 CordZero stick vac until it needed a new battery which cost $100 and I was told it would only last 12 months. Only 10 months later it needs another battery so I rang LG only to be told the battery now costs $175 plus postage. I am one very unhappy customer.
Suction is fairly poor – The vacuum works alright with the power head but is fairly useless with out that attachment. Doesn’t clean cars or furniture very well and also doesn’t pick up very well off of timber floors. Our first one broke after 1 month and it took over 30 days to get a replacement head. Wouldn’t buy this product again. Show details
