Bought this vacuum 4 years ago as a first time stick vac owner. I chose it over a Dyson because it came with two batteries, which has been a big plus. The suction power was really good, couldn't believe how much cat hair it sucked out of the rugs. Initially was very happy mainly because of the lack of cord and no plugging/unplugging as I went through the house. In my initial happiness I forgave the fact that you can only vacuum forwards, it doesn't pick up when you vacuum backwards. Even forwards it doesn't pick up particles such as rice, and tends to spit out such sized particles when the head is lifted because of the spinning head. You have to gently place the vacuum head right over the rice grain and hope it will suck it up, or eventually just pull the head off and suck it up the stick. I have mostly wood floors and the brushes on the base of the head wore down pretty quickly, so it's not great for wood/hard floors. And finally the batteries both died together which is going to cost $350 to replace. That's a no from me. I'll be going back to a barrel vacuum.

All things considered, a good quality appliance – The vacuum came with two batteries. One battery failed in around 8 months but was replaced under warranty. Still waiting to see how long the other original battery will last. When in use there are three levels of suction power available and the unit is fantastic on carpets, rugs and the like, but somewhat lacking on hard floors as even if using high power the rotating brush in the head tends to flick debris away before it is sucked up the tube. If this vacuum came with a dedicated hard floor brush without the rotating brush it would be 5/5 The operation time will depend on the power level you select, I have found it more than adequate to vacuum our two bedroom unit with a mix of flooring, including two rooms with carpet and large areas of hard floor, and a large medium pile rug, using higher power settings for carpet and rug, and low power for hard floors.
Update. After having used this vacuum for a considerable amount of time, I have to say that if you have mostly carpet this vacuum is an excellent choice, however if you have a large area of hard floor, avoid it like the plage!
All LG Cordless Vacuums. Batteries do not last and replacements are expensive – I recently experienced a frustrating issue with my LG stick vacuum's rechargeable batteries. Both batteries failed after precisely two years from the date of sale. Even more concerning, my relative's LG vacuum suffered the same fate after only three years of use. To make matters worse, the cost of replacing these batteries is exorbitant, totalling $350 for a set of two—equivalent to half the price of a new vacuum. This steep expense seriously undermines the product's overall value.
What's even more disheartening is that my experience isn't isolated. Many other users have reported similar battery issues, amplifying the frustration. LG has failed to adequately address the problem. They should offer reasonably priced replacements or introduce design enhancements to improve battery lifespan.
Moreover, the lack of transparency regarding battery lifespan and replacement costs at the point of sale only exacerbates the issue. Consumers are left uninformed and burdened with unexpected expenses.
Now faced with a dilemma, I'm questioning whether to invest in expensive replacement batteries or switch to a different brand, hoping for better longevity. Either way, the prospect of shelling out $350 every few years for a vacuum was not part of the plan. The vacuum is awesome but the batteries let it down.
In conclusion, the battery durability issue in LG stick vacuums is a significant drawback that demands attention. While other manufacturers may face similar challenges with replacement costs, LG and others must address this widespread problem and restore consumer confidence through increased transparency, cheaper replacement parts and product reliability.

Very happy – After using a 1400w mitsubishi corded cleaner I didn't expect the A9 Prime to do as good a job but was very surprised to see the result this vacuum gave. It eliminates having to use a static brush on timber laminate and tile floors after vacuuming and the extra battery supplied means no rushing to get the job done. Purchased 3 months ago and so far very happy. (Had to cut off the tag in the grip though)
Purchased in for $699.

I wanted to inform you all about a recent development regarding the pricing of LG batteries. After thorough consideration and exploration of various options, it has become evident that the discounted price offered by LG for a single battery exceeds the competitive pricing provided by a reputable LG Spare Parts dealer in Sydney.
While we genuinely appreciate LG's gesture in extending a discount, it's clear that we can secure a more favourable deal elsewhere. Consequently, I have opted not to proceed with LG's discounted battery offer and instead purchased a genuine LG battery from the spare parts dealer.
