Useless After 2 Years! – Purchased for approximately $1400 from Harvey Norman in 2021 for use on carpet and tile floor. Worked flawlessly for two years…..then the problems started. Robot leaves dock then turns off and back on after about 30 seconds and just sits there. Diagnostic reports no problems. I suspect battery charge is depleted even though it reports fully… Read more

Do NOt Purchase Its waste of Money – I purchased this inR9 Master in 2020 in about 6 months it kept going in circles and made a huge mark on my wooden floor..I took it to a Vaccum Appliance Store under Lg instructions...They said there was nothing wrong with it..I started using it again and in another 6 months it has totally died and does not work.. LG said now it is out of its 2… Read more

year warranty and nothing they can do. I will never buy from LG again as their product did not work well and they were terrible with support both times around.

Over priced and waste of money!! – Brought the LG CordZero R9MASTER from Harvey Norman when we moved into our new home. Only operated for 12 months before the machine stopped working. When you turn it on it says ready to clean but when you hit start it states the battery is low. Given up. LG Customer WARRANTY service in Australia sucks!! The Cord Zero vacum cleaner also crap its… Read more

self and also a waste of money. Stick with Dyson!!!! I dont know how the government allows these companies to get away with poor warranty service? At the time our Harvey Norman invoice for LG products was over $17000. LG only makes good TV'S and nothing else.

Wouldn't buy an LG robot again – The bristle head stopped spinning after 1 Year got replaced under warranty. Continually gets lost an runs out of battery. After 2.5 years of owning it and out of warranty. It leaves the dock and immediately shuts off all power. Cant find any repairers who repair robot vacuums. Cant find parts online and LG authorized service repairer doesn't exist anymore. Had good features but poor longevity Show details

Need to improve battery quality, no warranty on replacement battery's, beware of ongoing costs – Need to improve battery quality. First one and second failed at 23 months. First under warranty, second at a cost of $400. Please note there is no warranty on new genuine battery's installed by LG recommended repairer. Spoke to LG direct and was told three months on replacement parts. Understand that the maintenance cost on this unit is $200 per year as you will wont get two years from a battery. Show details

Always clogs on carpet lint and it needs a full disassembly to fix – We have a new apartment with the bedroom carpeted. I thought the first few rounds would be a bit 'lintty' but it fills up in no time then just keeps going, with no alert or warning, before getting clogged from the head to the dust bin and needs to fully disassembled for unclogging. I could vacuum the house manually in the same time.  Show details

Issues resolved by support team! – I've the L9 RoboVac for around 4 months, initially it worked well with the exception of not mapping the house - very few obstacles as its a new house. i ended up doing a hard reset on the device and it worked perfectly, mapped the house, didn't go into specific rooms that were turned off and i had no issues recommending it to friends and family.… Read more ·  1

BUT...there has recently been an update to the software and it has been useless ever since, won't go through the entire house, not mapping, scuffing skirting boards, going over the same rooms three times, constantly bumping into walls, objects etc. i was wrapped when this started doing what it was supposed to but since the update (and I've done a hard reset again) its a waste of money and i have no choice but to take it back. *EDIT* Credit to the LG support team, I received a couple of emails asking about the specifics of the problem and then received a phone call to go through some trouble shooting. It's working great again now and I'm very impressed with the support I received!!

Don't buy it unless you want to waste your money and energy – It's tile flooring. It worked perfectly for 18 months but started not suctioning and dust stuck in the entrance of the vacuum and the dustbin. Been repaired 3 times over last 9 months. First time, not repaired at all. Second one, been repaired and worked better but not as great as a new one. After a few months, showed same issues again then sent… Read more

RUBBISH!!! – I’ve had this for 6 months. It was getting stuck under couches, against walls and smashing into things in our (10 month old house). Contact LG, it goes off for repairs, it’s gets parts replaced but they claim there was nothing wrong with it...huh?! I was told by LG before they repaired it that it would be replaced...wrong. Fast forward a month,… Read more

they apparently ‘fixed it’ but they say there was nothing wrong...anyway, I told them I wanted the casing of the machine replaced as it looks like it’s 10 old machine. They have refused to replace it saying that it’s impossible that the machine was getting stuck under things (even after I sent them a video of the machine hitting our walls repeatedly).

Anyways, if you don’t care about your furniture, walls or other items in your house, sure, get one of these useless things.

Ps. Don’t bother contacting customer service because they are useless!

Save yourself $1600 and the heartache!

Terrible, If I could give zero I would – Terrible. If I could give zero I would. We were so happy with our previous roboking but this thing is useless. we have had nothing but trouble with it. Took it back to Harvey Norman Malaga(Manager was beyond rude and dismissive) They sent it away to LG and it came back weeks later saying there was no fault. Now 12 months on its even worse. charge, doesnt turn on and when it does it turns off 2 minutes in. We have run diagnostics but you cant smart diagnose it as the battery is dead?! Useless, and just want our money back to purchase a product that does the job, as for $1600 I would expect a working fit for purpose product, and not this very expensive door stop.

Doesn't clean corners and edges as well as Roboking did – Comparing to old LG Roboking this robot definitely is smarter, suction power on carpets is amazing, navigation - good enough, it's almost never gets stuck, what was the main issue with my Roboking. But it was a big mistake to remove rotating brushes from the front in this model. Perhaps its better for carpets but leaves dirt on floating boards. … Read more

Also no attached wipe function anymore, floors looked much better after it. With the price tag almost twice more than my old Roboking, it's quite disappointing.

I feel this was more of a dustpan than a vacuum – it was used on 95% carpet floorings and 5% tiles I find this vacuum was more like a dustpan, However, It is great as a security camera when you’re not home, you can control and see in live view the vacuum from your phone (as long as it is running) . I much prefer a manual vacuum not a robot one. (I don’t use it anymore so it’s just sitting in my cupboard) I wouldn’t recommend this Show details

This is what I was looking for. I cannot live without it – I have been using it for a year now. The battery still can last for 2 hours each time. It is clean like the normal vacuum cleaner. I always put all the chairs next to the wall so it can clean under the chairs and table easily. It can be set up to clean all the edges that other round robot vacuum cleaners cannot do. I highly recommend this product. Show details

The LG-R9 is the best robotic cleaner available! – My Review of the LG-R9 Master Robot vacuum cleaner. I set up wifi & mapping, opened all doors, removed any obstacles e.g. fluffy bathroom mats, & the LG-R9 entered & cleaned every room without issue, producing an initial map that it updated each time it cleaned. To be fair, the mapping is best after about 3 excursions as it intelligently improves… Read more

the mapping. We have fitted textured wool carpet, heavy traditional rugs in some areas with black edges (which my returned Samsung Powerbot couldn't touch) 1 shag pile rug & lots of tiled areas. It even climbs approx 2cm to clean our ensuite. It cleans edges & has amazing obstacle avoidance. The LG-R9 uses 3D laser instead of physical bumping so it cannot harm furniture. It gives a good deep clean; the full dust caddy & clean floors under bare feet prove it. The 200mAh battery life is outstanding; I get two hours use & it charges in 4 hours. It is the quietest robot we've had (55dB). It never had a problem with anything in our large lowset home! I know because I supervised it for all of the first clean (2 hours) after my bad experience with the Samsung Powerbot. Also, with the app on your phone you can see where it has cleaned.

Before I purchased the LG-R9 I read the reviews, one of which said it scratched floors. The brushes & bar are soft so this could only happen if it picked up something sharp left lying on the floor (e.g. screw) which was then dragged around. I think people need to carefully read the instructions: the hours for cleaning can be set, so no '2am cleaning'; set up 'no repeat' so that it doesn't clean a room '3 times' etc.

Give the LG-R9 a chance to learn the layout of the home & you will be amazed!

Very disappointed, want my money back! – This has not cleaned properly since day 1. We have had an LG Roboking previously which worked well and cleaned corners really well. We bought this based on the assumption it was the most expensive and therefore better quality, however we wee sorely mistaken. It has been garbage, never finds its way back to the home station. We were told to do the… Read more

firmware upgrade which has actually made things worse and the cleaner does not know where its going. Will be going to consumer protection as this is clearly not fit for purpose, unless the purpose is a $1400 paper weight.

Does not clean entire house – We have had a Samsung robot vac previously and were very happy but it was time for an upgrade. We bought this as it has HEPA filtration due to kids with allergies but also because it claims to map areas and rooms in your house. This means if the kids have toys on the floor I should be able to tell the vac not to go in that room today.… Read more

Unfortunately we have had this for 12 weeks now and the mapping function does not work. Most of the time it does not go into my daughters room (the one that needs it the most due to severe allergies) and on the odd occasion it does then it won't go into my sons room. In 12 weeks it has not been able to successfully map and clean both rooms on the same day. I reported this to LG within days of owning it. After being passed are departments to various people that could not help I was told someone would call me. After several follow ups and emails they requested photos. I still don't have a vacuum that does what it claims to do and doesn't go into all my rooms. I even have a video of it goi g into my sons room part way and turning arou d for no reason and leaving the room. The suction is great, the Hepa is great I just wish it would map as its advertised to do and recognise all rooms on the same day.

The future is Here – Intelligent and powerful robot. Suction power is as good as stick vacuums. Unlike its predecessors or competitors, this robot seldom gets stuck or lost. Capable of mapping all rooms in your house for cleaning only specific areas. You can control it through your mobile phones or google assistant. Worth the price. Show details

NOT GREAT – This was the most expensive robot vacuum cleaner in the store and I was told it was great. Hmmm. I've had a few problems setting it up (i.e. setting the correct time, scheduling a cleaning time) and trying to speak to anyone at LG's Service Centre is impossible. They're hopeless! I even asked the Harvey Norman store where I bought the cleaner… Read more

to ask their LG rep to call me. I was told this would happen. Three weeks on and still no call. The cleaner goes over the same spot continually instead of cleaning the entire house. Often it just stops where it is and doesn't go back to the charger. It will clean part of the house and IF it does go back to the base station to charge it's then supposed to pick up where it left off and clean the rest of the house. This rarely happens. Cleaning quality is good but I've found it does miss a lot of spots around furniture where my Roomba cleaner would get everything. Summary: It's definitely not a great cleaner and not worth the high price tag. I wouldn't recommend it. If I didn't have new dark carpet that my Roomba won't clean on (due to the cliff sensors) I'd never look at any other brand besides Roomba. This LG R9 is a waste of money. Very disappointed at both the cleaner and also the lack of customer service from LG. I wouldn't buy another LG product that's for sure.
