Good price and wash performance – Works well I have always used the normal cycle and 77 ℃ rinse, the wash performance is good there is not many times that the dishes have not come out clean, just the odd plate / dish that has baked on food, the fan dry works well and the delay start is a handy option, easy to load The only bad things is the baskets as they crack and rust I… Read more

have replaced the lower one after 5 years, the plastic rollers had to be replaced from time to time but that's just wear and tear , and now the top basket is braking after 8 years of use small rust spots and cracking , the display board was also replaced some time ago due to the cycle LEDs and time remain display was not working now it is doing the same now at 10 years old, it may be time for a new one

Poor quality – Had the machine for several years vs mum who had a Dishlex for 25 yrs. First the door handle broke, not once but on replacement it broke too. Pump went, then the top spray unit, all the plastic rollers started to break the plate holders are rusting, final end was the digital panel short circuited. It's quiet, because it doesn't go! lol Would i buy another LG... NO. Cheap crappy plastic parts that aren't made to last.  Show details

Never again – We purchased this dishwasher 4 years ago and for the past year it has not been washing the top rack which is a pain in the A*S, It never dries the dishes so be prepared to do all the drying although when you open it once the cycle has finishes a bunch of steam shoots out and burns your face so be careful of that but saying this your dishes are… Read more

still soaking wet.

We are currently looking at dishwashers and i must say i'm not looking at any LG dishwashers as i'm not prepared to put the dishwasher on a minimum of 2 times to try and wash them and then have to dry them all. Price and ease of use. Doesn't wash dishes and doesn't dry dishes which kind of defeats the purpose of having one. and tries to burn your face when you open it straight after the cycle finishes with a bunch of steam.

Look elsewhere for a reliable dishwasher – Good when it goes. Looks good. Pleasant chimes. Bought brand new 4-5 years ago. Worked fine, no problems with rack, rollers, electronics or door seals for perhaps 3-4 years, washing well and drying ok (we always opened the door after) once a day, every day, full load at 65 degrees. Then it developed a leak at the seal above the spray arm diverter… Read more

motor (which completely corroded over time), which would flood the base. The water would touch the motor and the household's power would trip off.

Obviously the flood level sensor/float did not do it's job and switch the machine off first. I bought a new spray arm diverter motor from ebay ($30), could not buy just the culprit seal, would have had to buy a much larger part that incorporates the seal, so did without, but fabricated a shield to divert any new leaks away from the spray arm diverter motor (cut ice-cream bucket lid and made channels with silicon), cleaned up the seal and applied yet more silicon, waterproofing the spray arm diverter motor as well.

I also drilled a hole in the base and inserted a straw as an overflow tube, alerting me if it leaked again. Went well for another 8 months or so, then developed a leak again (as witnessed from my overflow tube. Put up with this draining into a pan every night whilst it was on. Then the door spring broke (quite dangerous if it slams into anyone's shins ... the door is quite heavy and drops suddenly without it), a few weeks later it tripped the household's power off again. That's it for me. No more LG. I expect a dishwasher to last at least 10 years (not door seals but everything else) and simple parts to be available if needed. Worked well when working, pleasant chimes, reasonably quiet operation. Leaking seal, poor design (seal above electricals), poor flood sensor, door spring broke, limited parts available

Very bad - customer care do not care! – Cheap parts always something breaking down and LG customer care do not care. First were the basket rollers, then the pump's motor, after that the hose intake assemly, then the lcd display started working on and off and now a small plastic connector in the lower basket spinning arm broke down and ...guess what... you have to replace the whole… Read more

stainless steel arm ($55.24) for a $2 worth little plastic connector that can be replaced in minutes.

And, most of all, LG customer care do not care!

Avoid this dishwasher and possibly avoid LG. The look is OK There is always something breaking down. It leaks water from the door drying fan every time you open the door

Terrible – If you buy one of these make sure you also buy a draining rack and tea towel - because you will be doing a LOT of washing up! It has finally died (after 4 years of difficult use) so I can FINALLY justify throwing the bloody thing out! LG Dishwashers are teally good if you enjoy:- * washing the dishes before they go into the dishwasher so nothing… Read more

* washing the dishes again after they come out because the bloody thing didn't clean them.

Terrible – Have had this model for 5 years and just cant wait to get rid of it! Ours has never leaked or broken down like some of the other reviews, but it is really poorly layed out internally and it doesn't clean! We have to rinse before we stack, then run the pre rinse cycle before each wash. Then we have to empty the filter before each wash because even… Read more

if there is just a little bit of grime it will probnably be baked onto the dishes. As this dishwasher DOES NOT dry the dishes, we run the 70 degree intense cycle on time-save (127mins) to get it hot enough and then open the door immediately after the cycle to get everything dry. We frequently end up handwashing items that just havent cleaned. Its a 14 place setting, but does not handle many items well at all. Have had an LG laptop and didnt love it either - no more LG purchases for us. Good looking; child lock; Time save option everything else.

Good – A great washer for the price, was not the most expensive nor the cheapest but we believe we got the best value for money machine available at the time of purchase it washes the dishes well. we scrape all the food off and dunk in a semi filled sink before loading this washer ( I don't believe in using your dishwasher as a garbage disposal and don't… Read more

like the smells I experience in other peoples households) and this machine has served us well for at least 8yrs now. We are a family of 3 and run the cycle every other day. Pots pans, glasses the lot. Really find the adjustable top rack a useful function so when you have tall glasses, they can still fit. It was bought on a sale and installation was about 14months after purchase, so it was technically out of warranty. When initially installed it had a faulty front electronic panel but a quick call to the service dept (at no charge to us) and they replaced the whole electronic mother board and it has never missed a beat since.

Terrible – LG products should be avoided at all costs. All LG products we have purchased have had warranty calls and most have been uneconomical to repair just out of warranty. it used to wash dishes for a little while. It is the biggest waste of money ever, I would only recomend this product for people that thrive on frustration and anger, broke down 4… Read more

times in 5 years and spent the last months of it's life with a mop propt up against the door to get it to even wash, it gave up drying the dishes about 12 months ago. Absolute rubbish.

Terrible – Bought April 2005. October 2005 - top rack wheels were all cracking and spray arm broke. Spray arm and wheels were replaced January 2008 - a part of the bottom spray arm broke off again!! We didn't even bother replacing it August 2008 - one rack is starting to rust Generally a very bad product - doesn't clean evenly - certain corners… Read more

OK – This dishwasher is OK if treated with care. It is not a tough unit and is prone to breakages so be prepared to replace parts if you are heavy handed. A hot steam can emit from the front of the machine and care should be taken not to lean against it when it is running. Do not put cutting boards or tall itmes in the edge of the bottom rack as… Read more

they may apply pressure on the top drawer roller again they will break.

For the price this dishwasher is Ok as it has alot of features. This model seems to lack the electrical problems of the older LG LD-14AW2.

I would not buy another LG dishwasher but on the other hand will keep this one until it is no longer repairable. Does the dishes. Bought due to good pricing (wasn't I silly). Should have chosen another brand or used this website first. Wheels on top basket split. Mine is out of warranty and wheels are $8.50 each to replace eevry time one breaks which is quite frequently. Does not dry dishes properly after about 10 washes. After 10 washes the dishwasher needs to have a cleaning solution run through it then it will work properly again. Top dish rack can be dangeour when filled with heavy items. The top rack of mine fell out when full after one of the wheels cracked yet again. When dinner plates are placed in the bottom the spray bar is not abl to spin as it will hit the plates and stop. most owners don't know this as it happens when the door is shut. Slow after sales service.

OK – This was our first new dishwasher. Controls are easy to use and my toddler likes to turn it on and get it going for me with the chime noise it makes when pressing any button, so you have to turn it off at wall when not in use!!, but child lock works a treat when in use! Happy with price - shop around and compare prices, you can definitely pick it… Read more

up way cheaper than RRP! We wished we had taken the advise of the salesman though and gone for the Bosch - we liked the outside look of the LG better. Probably wouldn't buy an LG again, but will keep this one until it is unusable. Simple to use. Child lock is definitely useful! Ability to fold down dish racks in bottom is useful. Looks good. After buying, the wheels on racks kept breaking - which made the racks dangerous as they would randomly drop when a wheel or 2 broke - not to mention just being annoying and the cost in replacing. But replacement wheels are made from a different plastic as manufacturer realised problem, and they don't break.

Doesn't seem to dry everything - often have to leave door open slightly after finished so that water condensation doesn't occur - not always possible with a curious toddler around though.

Some of the plate spacers on the bottom rack are too close together and you can only put plates in every second one or they won't wash properly.

Excellent – I love this dishwasher. I have no problem what so ever.I have kids so we go through so many glasses, and love the fact i can put on the dishwasher just for glasses and not the whole wash. it can wash top and bottom separately

Good – This is my first dishwasher which I am very happy to have so I can't really compare it to anything else. I think it is fabulous!! I purchased this one because it was a really good price and I like the way it looks. It can fit alot of dishes inside and so is great for a medium size family. We haven't had any problems with ours yet, it seems to work… Read more

fine. It drys okay and is fairly quiet. It is good that if we only have half a load we can select to wash just the top or the bottom rack of dishes. It is a freestanding model so we didn't have to alter any of our kitchen to install it and it just does a fantastic job! I love having a dishwasher!!

Terrible – Will never buy LG again. Our front loader washing machine broke down 18 mths from purchase date. Thankfully we were still in warranty period. Contacted LG about the dishwasher. dish first to obtain a good result. Cutlery constantly fell through the tray which was a pain to get out. Only one section for big plates - not helpful if you have a number of people over for dinner. Hard to tell when it needs more rinse-aid. Got quite loud after about a year. For the finale ..... the diverta motor went (bottom arm refused to spin around). Couldn't wash anything after that. Part quite cheap to replace but labour over $200 and needs to be done offsite!! After reading review on May 10th 2009 - I am convinced not to spend anything more on this piece of junk.

OK – Overall the machine has done ok. The 4 years have gone with minimal problems. Replaced the draws and one side of the cutlery holder broke on the hinge so we used small cable ties to tie it together again and that has been fine. We could have got a spare but thought why go to the expense. Just the other day I could hear this dripping noise when… Read more

I was in the kitchen and looked underneath and noticed a leak. So we now have a leak. The hubby has pulled it all apart......should see my kitchen! And we have found the leak is coming from the heating element. Not entirely sure whether to replace the element or go get a new machine. I have found LG's customer service to be excellent so far. Had an LG washing machine.......lasted 5 years and an LG microwave which has been going for 4 years but did break down at 6 months but since has been no problems. And customer service has been great for all products. So will price the element. Hubby thinks that he can do it himself. It costs us way too much to get the machine to someone to fix it and then go and get it back again so either do it ourselves or buy a new machine. I don't want to buy the new machine as I have been generally happy with this one. I have owned my dishwasher for 4 years and it really hasn't performed too bad. It's large, which is the reason I bought it. Tends to wash well if using the intensive setting but I do a prewash when loading it the night before after tea, then add breakfast dishes the next morning and then do the cycle. Its very quiet compared to other dishwashers I have heard at friends places. I love the delay start as well. I like it to come on in the middle of the day to use the water from the solar hot water system. We have it plumbed to the hot water. It does tend to gave problems, like a lot of LG products. As has been mentioned in other reviews it was rather pricey. We have had to replace the wheels. Actually LG sent us 2 new draws as they were going rusty where the plastic had started to come away.

Terrible – My first and final experience of LG - would never buy their products again. This is an excellent example of NOT getting what you pay for: very expensive product that does not deliver to an acceptable standard. Looks good from exterior Totally USELESS at cleaning! the dishes come out baked on! Really only able to be used as a steriliser after you handwash everything, which defeats the purpose of the product and is a terrible waste of water.

Also has an annoying chime that plays when the cycle is complete which is quite loud (can wake you up if you put the machine on before you go to bed).

Terrible – Buyer beware! Biggest waste of money I have ever spent. which service agents have confirmed is subject to a forced recall (due to safety!!) in previous models. After contacting LG they had the audacity to say yes there was a problem but it has now been fixed in the AW3 model....... then LG why does my AW3 model have exactly the same problem. Should I sue you if my house catches fire?

My neighbour and I renovated at the same time. She choose to spend less on her dishwasher (a noname brand from a local discount variety shop) however her dishwasher still works. LG should be ashamed of producing such a poor quality product, failing quality control and take immediate steps to rectify this. looks pretty from the outside?? perhaps I should have paid $900 and bought a piece of art doesnt work- seriously will not run through a cycle, displays ie error and then shuts down. has been serviced.. still doesnt work.

LG customer service should be shut down for selling crap and then "always welcoming feedback from our customers and appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns". There is plenty of feedback coming to you LG but they do nothing about it.

Bad – I bought this LG on the strength of their reputation and marketing. The effectively 3yr manufacturer warranty was sign of confidence in the product. I never thought I'd have to use the warranty. LG in this model stands for Low Grade Generally performs well. Bought in May 2005 with (2yr Mfr, +1yr bonus, +3yr extended) warranties. warranty claim. Plastic spray head and draw rollers degrade and fracture; at least this constitutes mechanical failure and warranty covers. Very poor quality of plastics in my unit. External plastic is cracking and not under warranty.

Terrible – The fact it washes i would give it half a star! On normal wash plates etc everything comes out wet and slightly soiled. i tend to open door and allow thermal mass to do the air drying, however the machine is really below par compared to the other machines i have used. Buyer beware!! Definetely take note of other owners. An expensive boat anchor!… Read more

Pros: Gives you the impression it is washing the dishes i fully disagree with the reviews, i feel the machine doea a great job. (Sarcastic comment) Thats if you dont put anything in the damn machine! good at cleaning itself. Plates in one corner come out dirty every time. And if you happen to behave over the top and use round plates as opposed to square, (heaven forbid) the bloody top wash arm gets caught and stops spinning! solution, eat off side plates? i dont think so. tried different powders, (tablets are powders just 3 times the price for equivalent amount). Cutlery basket is badly designed, all the cutlery lays against each other and comes out with residue and food still attached. Unable to turn upside down for blades and spades to clean effectively as holes too big in basket. I have had Miele and Bosch at previous homes and this was here in the new house. I will be upgrading as soon as i can to a machine which is more power and water efficient. Oh, and i forgot to mention the ridiculous wash arms have cheap plastic connectors which wear very quickly and either jam or fall out LG is not Lifes Good, more like Load 'a' Garbage! I forgot to mention one night i heard an awful crack and thought hell a safety glass has smashed in the washer. I found out it wasnt a glass at all but the tension spring holding the door up! I found this out when i was rubbing my bruised shins!

Good – Fantastic dishwasher. Put off buying one for a long time but don't regret it. quick cycle. Lots of program flexibility including half cycles and time-save options. Fits in heaps of stuff and the racks on the bottom shelf can be folded down for large pots and other items. On the quicker cycles the drying time is shortened and water tends to re-condense on the dishes if left which means they need to be dried before one can put them away.

Racks don't hold large cereal bowls too well.

This machine is very quiet, has a vario system which washes one basket at a time meaning that there is greater water pressure - better performance. It is visually pleasing, washes very effectively, has a large amount of space, can hold square dinner plates, ingenious knife rack. It also has chimes to tell you what it is doing - it will chime when the door is left open, when you choose a cycle etc. Chimes may cause kids to play with it - but thats what child lock is for
