Rockin' little mobile – I've enjoyed my V30+ for about two years now, and i can recommend it as a fantastic and functional phone if you don't mind being off the cutting edge. For one, the threshold of quality is quite high. A strong case and solid structure that can take some punishment (though, i'd get a case, as the glass can crack quite easily if dropped at the… Read more ·  1

wrong angle). I haven't pushed the hardware to the limit; but from what i've seen, the V30+ can handle graphics and content similar to (and beyond) that of a PS2-era game without noticeably struggling or heating.

From there, it's a fairly standard breakdown:

CAMERA: Not bad. Could be better. SPEAKERS: Not bad. Could be better. TOUCH: Not bad. Good enough to draw with. PORTS: Haven't had any trouble; but the charger port is starting to wiggle. BATTERY: Surprisingly decent! Nothing amazing, but mine has been on the better end of all the phones i've used. SOFTWARE: The default software can be quite terrible; for instance, my default camera app is insanely broken, so i can't take any photos whatsoever - but there's no support for me to contact. Most of the other inbuilt software and interface is pretty average. If there's a letdown with this phone, it's this. CORPORATE TRASH: You'll find the basics - unremovable default apps, well-hidden privacy settings, and the evil omnipresence of Google. Didn't find anything i wasn't expecting, though.

So, there you have it. A reliable modern phone with decent-to-good performance in all areas, and (arguably) none of the pitfalls that other phones so often have.

Absolutely amazing Android phone for its current price $399AU – I have had this mobile phone for a year. Bought it at JB-hifi (i have no connections or sponsorship from them, i just like their variety, price and extra warranty on products). The screen on this LG is amazing, i also have a pixel 3xl, and i wish i didn't spend those $1000. Battery is good, performance, amazing. Throw any online game to it and… Read more ·  1

it excels. Fits well on the end. Charges quickly. The only downs are the fact that i struggled to find a case protector and had to wait a few weeks to get a couple feom "Wish". The other thing is the screen protector. Doesn't fit wwll and the screen is slightly curved on the edges. Camera is amazing as well, great on light and night. But im "happy as Larry", i do recommend it, for anyone looking for a new smart phone. Also its made in Korea, like Samsung, not elsewhere. Samsung's are great, but do have a premium price. Cheers

Great value – I bought this to replace my 950XL & was tossing up between this and the A70 but decided on this as it has everything the 950XL has & then some unlike the A70. It is easy to use, has excellent front & rear cameras, the audio is great, apps run smoothly & game play is excellent. I can sync it with my LG tv with screen share & can even use it as a… Read more ·  1

remote control for the tv. The battery holds charge really well and I can get up to 3 days of use(under normal use)before recharging it. What I like about it the most would be the power button/fingerprint reader. Some people have complained about its location but I have no problem with it being on the underside of the phone. As for cons, I can't really find any. This is one phone I highly recommend.

Smart phone with a smart design – I just recently purchased this phone for my partner. I asked her to give me a quick review. This is what she wanted me to share. The LG V30+ ThinQ smartphone and I love it. It is exactly what I’ve been looking for - love the industrial design, camera, light-weight, large screen, and dual SIM for when I travel. I found this phone to have a superior… Read more

camera lens with OLED display, which makes the images very vibrant. It has cool features such as the wide angle lens and Graphy where I can select the look and feel of the photo for the photo we are about to take helping you to preset some of the manual settings. The phone’s audio feature is another really nice surprise as I wasn’t expecting this, but Hi-Fi Quad-DAC really makes a huge difference when listening to music or podcasts. I also really like the QuickMemo+ that comes with the phone which is really nicely designed. The only few areas I would recommend improvement on are: the manual screenshot. It’s not easy to take the screenshot using one finger pressing hard on the power and the other on the lower vol button at the same time. I also prefer the fingerprint sensor to be on the front for when I have the phone flat on the table or in a car phone holder more convenient to power on the phone without having to lift it up. I would highly recommend the phone for its value on the market against other phones with similar features.

LG V30 NOT Audiophile sound as promised – head phone jack doesn't output volume at a reasonable level. software inside phone limits volume depending on the ohms level the software sees. plugging into a preamplifier on my stereo is absolutely hopeless. it is so quiet, even when the volume on the phone is set to maximum 75. sound quality is appalling especially when the write-ups call it an… Read more

Great Value – My Samsung J7 Pro (32 Gb) lack of memory was giving me problems so when I saw JB HIFI was offering a 128 GB LG Phone for $399 I decided it was time to retire the Samsung and after using the LG 30+ for past few weeks I am delighted with my choice. An absolute gem in the sound and value department! – Like others, I got this for 399. at JB Hifi. At this price its an absolute steal. The sound quality is top notch due to the built in ESS dac/amp - it amazes me that other 'premium' phones dont have high quality dacs like this. The rear power button takes getting used to and the volume buttons are a little too high to be comfortably used. Also,… Read more

like others have mentioned, I find it easier to input typos using this keyboard. But all these are minor things. Coming from an OPPO, the charging is noticeably slower but so is most of the competition. The screen on the LG is great too. Its amazing how many people won't give other brands like this a look in. Their loss.

Buy of the year – Had an iphone x for work and this thing is much better. Amazing screen resolution. After 10 years of iPhone the menus are quite intuitive. Paid 399 at JB. Proves apple is a cartel rip off. only thing is keypad is a bit more prone to mis hits but ive got big fingers! Just cant believe how good the screen resolution is. Show details

Great Phone with Performance – I recently switched from an iphone 8 to the LG V30+ . This is a seriously good phone. The build quality is excellent and the battery life is bullet proof. The screen resolution is crystal clear. I use the phone mainly for data and the hi tech camera. I have clients I speak to and the hands free is clear and LOUD :-) Sure its a 2017 model but it ticks all the boxes. Not to mention bang for your buck. Show details

Not latest flagship smart phone but very good value – Bought this phone for $399 from recent JB Hifi sale to replace Moto g4 plus. Used a month now and very happy with it. The OLED screen is brilliant, 128GB is plenty of storage. Battery last more than a day. The overall build quality is very high. The only thing downside is the power button at the back, it's a bit not convenient when used with a wallet case, but consider the price point, can leave with it. Very happy. Show details

A good piece of hardware – Many positives; excellent software stability, decent rear cameras, good amount of storage, no issues multitasking and no freezing, minimal LG apps, a tough and light handset, excellent price from JB Hifi. A few negatives; lack of power button around the edge ensures you have to lift the phone every time (there is a knock twice feature for the… Read more

display) which must have been an issue as the following years release (LG V40) has a button on the rear and the side, LG Bridge on MAC is a disaster so to transfer music & videos onto the phone you must use a memory card, auto-brightness has some issues adjusting, loud speaker not really that loud, front camera resolution is low.

Other things to consider; the P-OLED screen has great resolution but the blue tinge when the display is angled away from your eyes does take some getting used to, some microphone anomalies have your callers asking you to speak louder.

I will consider the LG V40 for my next purchase based on the positive experience I have had with this handset.

Just a bit short of excellent – This is the best phone I have ever used. The screen size is perfect. Screen quality is good. The software is ok, sometimes there are minor hiccups and scrolling has some lag. Wireless charging is a bonus. This phone is really thin and light. I don't feel it having it in my pocket. Battery life is excellent but I feel it comes at a cost of very aggressive ram management which results in delayed notifications. Show details

Great phone at an excellent price – After a lot of research I decided to purchase this phone based on the reviews, functions & price over an A series Samsung, even though it is acouple of years old. be great.

Aside from having a google account to transfer from my old Samsung the LG mobile switch is fantastic. It allows selection of specific items to transfer.

128GB is plenty for me as I generally use a phone as a communication device, an occasional camera & rarely for music or movies, so I dont need a lot of storage. The bonus with this phone is that, if necessary, memory can be extended to 2TB.

The 6" screen is slightly larger than I'm use to, but at a pinch I can still use it single handed for texting & media. Touch sesnsitivity is accurate & customisation of the screens & apps, in particular the floating bar, is fantastic. So far I have had any issues with an of the apps I use.

I havent used the cameras yet, but I'm sure they will be fine for me, as its only a nice to have for me not a prority, my 50x zoom canon is my go to camera!

The security features of this phone are great, in particular the fingerprint access positioned on the rear, which allows single handed access from sleep.

Probably the best phone I've ever owned.

Good, but not great – Overall the phone was good value, especially considering the deal we got it for. The camera is really good, but sometimes the camera app fails, which is really annoying when you want to capture that perfect moment. Also, there is no night mode. Build quality is good, so is the display. The occasional hiccups here and there in running the OS during daily operation but nothing excessive. Show details

Mobile Phone LGV30 – I brought this phone 7 months ago from celletel.llc and the screen froze yesterday, could not even make ooo calls. I rebooted it back to factory settings and still does not work. Contacted the seller and they will not do anything about it. Do not buy from this company celletel.llc as they as not good with warranties. I have wasted my money and will never buy from them again.

Great smartphone, 128GB, 2 sims, great price – Great smartphone, 128GB, 2 sims, great price. I like LG smartphones, they are waterproof, great price/quality ratio, 2 sims, the only downside is that the battery capacity could be better. That's not to say it is lower than other modern phones. Great sound quality on headphones as they have a headphone amp. Who else does that? Show details

Disappointing battery life and no LG support – There is so much to like in this phone Thin, light and robust Good camera Always on display And of course LG's double tap to turn on the phone But the battery life is disappointing - Battery falls to 70% in only 6 hours even if the phone is unused! Throw in 2hours of listening to Bluetooth connected music and battery is less than 50%. Two… Read more

longish phone calls and a top up charge is required to get to the end of the day

Then there is the pain of setting it up - The LG WiFi transfer app does not work. It works on the old phone but not on the V30+. Contacted LG help multiple times each time promises to escalate my case (never called back) and asking me to perform yet ANOTHER factory reset! I did finally transfer SOME content using a (separately bought) OTG adaptor - but Huawei's set up was so much easier and it copied all Apps

Stylish mobile phone with good features – This phone is heavier than the LG G4 which I used to have, but the screen of LV V30+ is larger than LG G4. LG V30+ has a very smooth touch, front and back, very stylish and pretty. I always worry that I would drop it and break it or scratch it. I would suggest other people to get a phone case if they consider to get this LG V30+. I have ordered a… Read more

phone case from ebay. The sensitivity level of this new phone is high. In other words, it responds very quickly. The fast charging feature is wonderful. The internal storage 128 GB is huge. I can take more and more photos, and record lots of videos. I am happy with the quality of the camera as my photos taken at night time are very clear. The Always On display function (time, date and percentage of battery) is a bonus. It is excellent and super convenient, even though it would consume a little more battery. Overall, LG V30+ is a very decent smartphone. The only thing I do not like is that I cannot use the google assistant without unlocking my phone. Unlike my old LG G4, unlocking the phone to use google assistant is unnecessary. For this reason, I give it 4 stars.

Great phone - pity about screen quality and warranty claim process – I have owned this phone for 10 months now and generally have been happy with its performance. An LG representative advised that he had not heard of similar… Read more

issues and that it was unusual. He also suggested I could 'not use the auto brightness function' to alleviate the problem. I was disappointed with his response given the $$$ spent and the fact that the phone is or was considered their flagship phone. A quick google search confirmed that there are various known issues regarding the phones screen. The LG representative then said he would look into the problem and get back to me with a solution. Days pass with no response. I then follow it up and speak with another LG representative who suggests I send it off to a 3rd party to have the problem assessed and the phone repaired if necessary. At this point in time the phone is with the repairer. I will update the review once they determine the problem and provide a solution. Considering the size of the company, I would have expected a better process for warranty claims.

Software Tragic! – The phone itself as a hardware is ok, software is terrible. When it was on Android 7 it was clunky but livable. slow. Frequently it does not connect to the car at all and needs to be restarted. In short it is total dissatisfaction for a phone which was NZD$1300. Cannto get rid of maps, it is like a pest making impossible to use the phone as it does not go into a background but stays open in quarter of the screen. Cannot remove bloatware form it too.

In addition it was to be Gorilla 5 glass but it chipped and I was told it is mechanical damage so no warranty applies!

Not recommended at all. I will not buy another LG in my life time!

like a premium flagship device.

The camera and screen are the only two things I dislike about the phone.

For one, the front-facing camera is only 5MP which is terrible, if you consider most phones these days have 10-15MP front facing. The camera itself is decent but gets outperformed by the Google Pixel 2 by a long shot.

The next thing I dislike is the screen shape. I loved the idea of slightly curved screens until I tried to find a screen protector which stays on them. I've gone through 4 protectors since November, and everyone online seems to have the same issue.
