Amazing Washing Machin – We've had it from new since 2006 - now starting to have a few issues in 2023 - not many appliance like this any more. vIF we have to replace it I'm going back to LG for the same but newer model - hopefully just as good. Show details
Absolutely great machine – Absolutely amazing machine - I bought mine second hand and replaced the main bearing for $80 in 2hrs at home and it’s lasted over 3 years of 10+ Full capacity loads per week (linen and towels especially) and only just starting to wear the bearing again now. It’s never damaged any of my delicates and also gets grime and grease out of workwear. Great selection of cycles and easy to use. Show details · 1
Best machine I have ever had – Cleans very well without ruining or beating up your clothes. Lovely and quiet. I have had this machine for about 14yrs and love it still. Very large load capacity. Can easily wash blankets and quilts. It doesn't use a lot of water and can heat its own if not connected to a hot tap. Show details
Wonderful Machine - 12+ years still going strong – I bought this machine new at Harvey Normans well over 10 years ago and it is still working flawlessly doing 2 or 3 large loads per week. Think it had a 4 1/2 stars out of five water rating too. Still looks & functions like new. No rust, no leaks & nil visible signs of wear. Keypad works like day 1. The only sign of my machine's age is a… Read more
slightly discoloured door seal but it still seals perfectly.
Never needed repairs or servicing, touch wood.
And, if you need to add clothes (or fish out your mobile phone) after starting a cycle, all you need to do is press the pause button and wait a few seconds for the door to unlock. The water level is below the lip of the door so never any leaks if you need to open the door.
This machine certainly wasn't cheap (about $2100 from memory in about 2003-4) partly because of it's huge capacity compared to other washing machines at the time but now, averaging it's cost over 10+ years of ownership, it has worked out very very cheap in the long term.
It's super large capacity of 10.5kg has seen it used quite often to also wash friends' and family's doonahs, curtains etc as well.
These included the 100% down-feathered doonahs washed on its gentle cycles and they all came out like new and undamaged even though I put them all on the fastest spin cycles after careful experimentation.
I use OMO Ultimate and SARD OxyPlus in every wash with simply brilliant results always.
And my clothes etc last forever, this machine is so gentle even on normal cycles.
My fortnights' worth of work uniforms x 12 lasted years each and always looked fresh.
If you see one second hand, buy it.

Jan 2019 Update : Machine still performing flawlessly and nil breakdowns or parts/hoses etc replaced. Rear cover/panel badly damaged by removalists (grr!!) 2 years ago but has not affected performance.
bullet proof if you can find one – Dont make them like they used to.. Tough as nails, I just hope I can find enough bits to keep it going for 50 years... if you find one ..buy it.. bought machine second hand from private dealer.. big heavy machine so check the dimensions do it fits in the laundry. . blankets, doonahs and heavy rugs are no problem. .
Good Old Machine – We have had our machine now for 10 years, could not count how much abuse it has taken over the years. Its washed dedicates wonderfully, mechanics oily work clothes, bedding not to mention sandy beach towels and bathers. Even shoes!(with a couple of towels) We pack this thing 3 times a week, sometimes I think over 10Kg. This year the bearings… Read more · 2
went in it, with a small amount of investigation I found a parts supplier. To my surprise bearings, shaft and seals only $140 cheap. As a mechanic this machine was so simple to repair.
Just now the pump is starting to play up, So its got 2, so swap the wash sprayer one for emptying one. Yeah yeah working again.
But I think new pumps might be the go. I presume they wont be much either.
So all in all this machine has out lived previous top loaders and is much cheaper to repair.
After new pumps I am sure we will get another 10 years, maybe hand it down to the kids! second thoughts maybe not, its to good. Easy to fix (sorry washer Techs). Cheap to fix. Large capacity. water efficient. Was expensive back in 2003 but it has lasted.
Best washer Ever – We have had this machine for 6 -7 years. We have 3 boys and it is in use all the time. for several years we lived across the road from the beach and a lot of sand went through with the clothes. I have had to replace the water pump once and also the stator and circuit board. Fortunately these items were realitvely cheap. When I think of how much washing its done its a wonder we havent needed to do more big load very quiet beautifully built. Show reply
great product – easy to use and save time with only having to do three loads each week end to do the weeks washing every thing
Better than I first thought – When I first began using this machine I was really disappointed with the long wash times and the fact that I couldn't access my wash during washing cycles. I'd been used to using top loaders for years and switching to a front loader was quite a different experience. LG service was hopeless when I phoned and asked them about water efficiency, and… Read more
they treated me as if I was the only person in the world who would ask such a question, but being in a drought affected area and being completely dependent on rainwater, I needed to know!
After several long and painful phone calls, they could tell me absolutely nothing!!!
Eventually time and experience would prove the efficiency of the machine.
I'll also comment on how gentle this machine is. I've some very delicate items into this washing machine, and have never been disappointed.
I must say, overall, I've been happy with the machine. Reliable, will wash very delicate items perfectly!!! The 10kg size washing capacity is awesome! Very poor customer service when calling for information about the machine- telephonists attitudes was "I've got better things to do". What a shame LG!!!
Excellent – I've used this machine for the past two years and can't fault it yet. It has outperformed all previous washing machines I've owned. Almost went for a top-of-the-range model, very glad I didn't - this machine is excellent value for money. It's capacity! It was the most family-friendly machine I could find. Excellent performance. Love the 30min cycle which still cleans very efficiently.
Excellent – This is a Fantastic machine. I had a top loader before this, had all kinds of problems. I can stuff so much in it. I do overstuff it and can sometime do up to 7 full overstuffed 10kg loads in the one day and I have had no trouble at all, I think I have emptied the lint catcher twice and it had vurtually nothing in it. It does a great job of… Read more
cleaning the clothes and even when over stuffed it doesn't leave the slimey tracks of washing powder like my old top loader. Most of my washing is done on the quick 30 cycle and it all comes out clean. The size, The 30 minute quick cycle. Been using it for 2 1/2 years and I have nothing bad to say.
Oh, the two year old keep taking the cover off the lint trap on the bottom right corner of the machine, sick of looking for it. :)
Terrible – Very cranky with LG Australia - will definetly NEVER buy any LG Products ever again. The product was faulty from day 1 was repaired under warrently but always the same fault re-appeared but LG said they have no records showing a warrenty claim as if thats my fault and used this to excuse themselves from helping me. Granted the machine works well… Read more
- when it is working Our machine was borne with a recurring fault - it will not go past the rinse & spin cycle whatever we do it wont spin.
The 1st time I reported to the help desk the lady held the compsny line and gated me at every opportunity to shove me out the door likewise with the 2nd lady I spoke to but at least she was honest she said 'someone has to the bearer of bad news'!!!! I then spoke to a chap who was most understanding but still was limited at what he could do - Whats the use of a help desk!!!!
Excellent – I have had this machine for 18 months now and so far it has been fantastic. I have 3 children and I can put many days worth of washing into one load it's so big. I struggle to fill it a lot of the time. I can fit doona's and bedspreads into it also. It gets my clothes so clean and they're not heavy and wet by the time it's finished because of… Read more
the high spin cycle. The fact that I can open it if I forget something once the cycle has started is a godsend.
Apart from it just fitting into my laundry because it is a large machine I have nothing but praise for this machine. It cuts out as soon as the water level reaches a certain height (which is usually the height of the trough top)so you can avoid too much flooding if you accidently leave the plug in when it's draining.
Love the Time Saver and the Time Delay so I can set it many hours ahead of time to start whilst I'm away but finish around the time I am due to arrive home. This avoids my washing sitting in the machine for a long time and going smelly.
It say's whisper quiet but I have to say it's not the quietest machine I've ever heard...a fairly normal level I would say.
A great 'family' machine. Too big if you're single unless you wash doona's and bedding a lot. It's great for this and the rest of my family come around to use my machine when they've got bedding items to wash. Washing is so clean and because of the high spin speed the washing isn't really wet and heavy when the cycle has finished.
Love being able to open door once cycle has started if I've forgotten to put something in.
Can set machine to finish at the time that your due home so it washes whilst your out.
Time Saver is great. Select a cycle and press Time Saver and it cuts down the time.
Has a 'quick 30' cycle if you're in a hurry.
If you have machine draining into your laundry trough and the trough has plug in it and fills up with water the machine cuts out as soon as it overflows so you don't flood the house.
The water recycles throughout the cycle and this is why you can open again once machine has started.
Child lock is great.
Can put almost a whole weeks washing into it because it's so big. You don't have to select size of load. Auto senses size. Nothing bad so far.
