Poor build quality. The lid broke at the hinge ( completely destroyed the mounting ) within the first couple of months so we contacted them about warranty and sent them photos. There response was that it wasn't covered and we would have to pay to get it fixed NOT happening. We previously had other LG machines but this will be the last . LG life's Good more like now Lousy Garbage. Try another brand as we will be doing from now on. We also have other LG equipment but when they fail different brand hunting will be happening.

Purchased this washing machine in Sept 2019 for $560 from the Good Guys with a Concierge extended warranty for $149.
The hinges on the lid broke in April of 2021 and the lid was replaced under the LG warranty. The hinges have now broken again and LG nor Concierge will help me.
The damage is due to the product being inferior and cheaply made, and not owing to misuse or any incorrect washing products being utilised.

I have had this product for nearly 2 years but these problems were noticeable early on.
As other reviews have mentioned it never fills the tub to the right level of water so I always have to manually select (no biggie) but the filter is high up so at level 4 water it doesn't even touch the filter. There is a big gap between level 4 (which is lowish) and level 5 water levels and often that's where I need it to be (midway) so I have to select level 5 and use too much water.
It destroys clothes. All my children's clothes, even their blankets, are destroyed by the washer (holes and weakens elastics) so I have to replace them regularly. Never had this problem with my old Samsung.
Do not buy if you want your clothes to last a long time.

Spin cycle very poor Rpm 740 washing comes out very wet. Didn’t realise my previous washing machine was 1000rpm which I had for 12 years. Hugh difference in results. I have never used a dryer in 35 years and had no problems in winter getting towels and bedding dry. Not looking forward to this year. Suggest when buying check your current machine if possible, spin cycle and don’t buy anything less

On 1 November 2021 the water hose broke in several places on my 16 y.o. NEC washing machine and I replaced it with an LG WTG6520 / 6.5kg top load washer. I purchased it from the Good Guys who delivered it within 2 days, installed it and took away the old one. When I started using it I realised I had to be more careful how I put the clothes in as it could become unbalanced so I loosely put all the clothes around the edges and was ok then. I always just do a quick wash so had to alter the default spin to medium as low wasn’t adequate. I use ...
Read moremuch less washing powder as it doesn’t disburse the powder properly and shows up in small patches on darker clothes. The filter system is more complicated, I liked the simple one on the NEC better. It is nice n quiet but so was my other one. When the guys installed it, I became aware the hose attached to the tap was dripping slightly, I couldn’t tighten it and they sent another crew to do it and when they left it seemed ok, but next time used it still leaks. My NEC didn't have this problem and it's the same tap. AFTER 6 months use, I'm not impressed with the results of the wash, all garments feel much rougher when dry, and I use the same wash powder as always. Too many options, too many buttons; the NEC was much more simple and did better wash. :(Purchased in for $704.

This was a good washing machine for the first few months. The 7.5kg load is big enough for a good size family wash & the settings are easy to use.
Unfortunately after a few months we started to see recurring error messages, the water wouldn't stop filling the machine & flooded 2 rooms, after that we had to constantly keep an eye on it every wash, until it eventually stopped spinning or draining water.
LG's service under warranty isn't good, which is a pity because this could have been a good machine.

Bought this machine to replace our old LG machine which was leaving lint all over the clothes only to find that this machine is no better! Have tried powder, liquid, wouldn’t dare use fabric softener in it, also tried a tub clean to no avail. Disappointed is not the word, so sick of having to keep rinsing and wasting water! Im hoping this can be resolved somehow.

Before our machine was one year old, it refused to fill. New water inlet valves were installed under warranty. Just 3 years later, same parts failed. On ringing LG, I was referred to the local service agent, Newcastle Custom Electronics (NCE).
Parts ordered 2 November, supposed to take 24-48 hours. Eventually fixed on 12 November. In the meantime, LG had offered to cover costs ($229 - more than one-third of the original price of the machine). Desperate for our machine to be fixed, we paid to get the repairs done. Today I was advised by LG that...
Read more NCE refused to refund our money, to be reimbursed by LG. We wear the cost, and wonder how long the valves will last this time. The machine washes well, but every load is covered with occasional black flakes. No matter how clean you keep the filters, the flakes are always present. I recommend avoiding LG and NCE.- Build Quality

this machine will give you nothing but trouble with black pieces of film like stuff all over your cloths, their tub clean does nothing to remove it, only way to remove this stuff is to pull to top off the machine and scrape the stuff off, LG says this stuff is scrud but its not, it is a black coating of some kind half way up the inside of the outer tub, these machines should be recalled and the outer drum should be replaced with a new drum, but first they have to admit there is a fault, but this will never happen, if you have this black film o...
Read moren your cloths don't let them get away with not fixing this problem, scrud is greyish brown not black, if your problem is a black film you have the same problem I had, i proved it was a coating and they have finally replaced the tub and the problem seems to be fixed, but will see if the problem returns in a month or so which is how long it took to appear after we first bought the machine. refer pic's, also this machine is so noisy as every cycle plays a stupid tune, why do they have to make things that play stupid tunes, its a washing machine not a media player, stop putting crappy tunes in everything,Purchased in .

Has been last than one year, Top Load Washing Machine won't drain, checked filter NO blockages. LG technician was sent out but could not fix it. Got message from LG Electronics basically they said it was my fault (detergent overflowing, poor levelling, misuse or high water pressure).
Never used detergent overflowing: used only as it has directed
Don't have POOR levelling: levelling of where we have our washer is perfectly levelled
Don't understand by "Misuse": I know exactly what can be only washed in washer
High water pressure??: this I don't get "high water pressure" this is a joke
All these excuses does not make any senses for me. Spent $649 didn't even last a year, such a waste of money. Disappointed with LG BRAND

Bought this to replace an Esatto washing machine and the quality and the experience of using this machine is absolute night and day.
The customization of the cycles are great, the sound of both the wash cycle and spin cycle is quiet as (spin cycle sounds even quieter than wash), I like how it slowly builds up to the spin cycle and not just ramp it up immediately which probably contributes to the quietness of the spin cycle. And of course, the merry tune when it starts up and finishes is just delightful.
Overall, I am so glad I spent a little extra for proven high quality brand.

I bought this washing machine model based on reviews from product reviews and i couldnt be happier.
It is a great little machine and washes clothes so clean and easily.
I wasnt sure i would like no agitator and i admit the clothes come out a little tangled but so did my agitator one. I would highly recommend this machine out of all LG's machines.
It is a nice looking machine and quiet and i love the beeping that's quite musical.

On the first install of the drain hose, the water can only come out from the drain outlet or when the drain hose lay flat on floor, for all other position, no matter how I move the drain hose or reconnect there's no water come out.
After the initial review, LG agree to send a technician to inspect for free, so I reinstall the drain hose to the washer and found out the water is able to come out.
The problem looks like you need to twist the drain hose to the other way before plug it into the washing machine.
In terms of usage and function, so ...
Read morefar I have no issue to it. It works fine. For the future version, I wish one day one washing machine can add a weight scale so that I know if I have maximise the use of the machine (i.e. put 7.5kg clothes to the 7.5kg washer). And if the drum can add water level indicator will be great.Purchased in at Appliance Central for $645.

So pleased that we purchased this new 6.5kg LG Washing Machine.
It is very quiet and washes clothes just perfectly. When it gets to the rinse cycle it beeps several times and then when the cycle is finished it plays a tune..... similar to the My Whippy tune ! Would thoroughly recommend this machine.

LG WTG6520 Spinning issue, I have washing machine that is not spinning. It is draining out completely and clutch is working okay, but there is no power output to the drive motor and it is not spinning.
I really want to know what else are holding from giving output to the motor from the the control card.
Hi just wondering if anyone has had very large black coating all through there clothes and washing machine. I'm talking about as large as a 10 cent piece. Lg are saying it's skrud but it looks like some sort of coating. Tub cleaned 3 times with tub cleaning tablets and it comes back within 2 washes .
Purchased WTG6520 end of July but on a quick wash the spin cycle comes up as "low". I can manually over-ride the spin cycle to achieve "mid" spin but not "high" spin. This results in longer drying time. My previous washing machine was an LG 7.5kg and I was able to override the low spin on the quick cycle to achieve a high spin. please advise.
Hi, What you can do is put the spin on manually after it has finished and just do a high spin on it's own. That's what i have found.
Thanks for the reply and yes I have done the high spin manual step after the quick wash has completed but that cycle is an extra 15 minutes. When added to the quick wash time of 33 minutes that makes ...
Read morethe total time of 48 minutes which is not exactly a "quick wash". As I said initially, my previous machine was an LG 7.5 KG the bigger brother of my new machine. I had that machine for 5 years before it gave up the ghost and I was always able to manually adjust the spin to "high" even when the quick wash cycle was selected. I don't know why LG changed the washer computer software in the latest model which effectively prevents the owner selecting a high spin on a quick wash.Get an answer from our members and LG representatives
