I absolutely loath it and I want my old washing machine with the agitator back. If you want to break out of prison and need to tie your clothes in knots then this is the machine for you. Also does not spin the clothes dry at all and you might as well hang them up after the rinse cycle and save time. Poor placement of the control panel at front top of the machine is the icing on the cake Show details
Poor washing experience – The machine tangles clothes into a long string even set under recommend cycle. It does not wash clothes well, soap powder is still found inside clothes even though added as per instructions. Always operate the machine water level at least 2 settings higher than its autoset. If more than 50% full set water level at 100%. Its quiet and got easy use panel. We strongly dont recommend. Show details
No lint filter – I've had this for 5 years now, and since day 1 I've been waiting for it to die. It has no lint filter. FFS no filter! My clothes come out covered in lint. I wash whites and darks separately, and that mostly does the job. Clothing bags for gentles make for good lint filters. Other than that I've had no problem, but I'm sick if using a lint brush. It is leaking water from inside the machine now, and I will pension it off, at last. Show details

Good quality machine, solid build – I purchased this washing machine in Feb 2017 as a replacement for my aging Simpson washing machine. Purchased from Harvey Norman Preston, Victoria for $1000. The machine performs its daily duties as required and easily handles a large load of washing for a family of four. The machine has 6 different washing motions with the wash program… Read more · 1
alternating between agitating, rubbing, compressing, wave force, rotating and swing. The machine features an onboard heater but our clothes wash just as well in cold water. We generally use the washing machine for everyday clothing, delicates, towels, quilt and pillow covers, etc. We never have any issues with clothing being distorted or stretched. The build quality is fantastic and it is a solid machine. I love the sleek, modern design. The machine has a full stainless steel tub. The motor is quiet and has a low db noise level when it’s running. The machine has a touch LED display, is easy to program and the electronic controls are easy to negotiate. I love the soft closing, wide view glass lid. The lid can be opened and extra clothes added to the wash as the tub is filling. The machine has a great safety feature that locks the glass lid closed when the washing cycle has started. The machine flashes an alert on the LED display when it needs to be tub cleaned. My only complaints are that the laundry detergent tray doesn’t always dispense the laundry powder as the water fills the tub. As a result I now sprinkle the powder over the clothing. Also when the tub is filled with clothes with the machine set on default cotton wash, the water level will automatically set on half full, 5 or 6 and needs to be manually adjusted to 10 to fill the tub with water. Apart from these minor issues, I have no complaints.
Customer Service Call Centre and LG top loading Washing Machine – Bought a (as new top loader LG 7.5kg washing machine in late 2017) from LG's authorised repair agent in Auckland, NZ. (I have had two other LG top loading washing machines before, one had heavy family use and lasted 10 years). The WTG7532W seems to have a DE (door open fault on alot of them from new) as the magnets (of which there are too many)… Read more
don't seem to work properly. Unless it is to do with the hinges on the machine? I phoned to say that I was having massive problems with the repair agent supplying me with multiple faulty machines to the call centre back in late 2017. As I had 2 replacement washing machines, which I had had to go and get. I had to make numerous phone calls and texts about to get any sort of action from the repair agent. I finally got the 3rd washing machine replacement, it also had the DE fault but could mostly get it to work with persistence, so put up with it as had so much trouble. Machine has only had light use and has only been used for a total of 17 months out of the time I have had it. Late Friday 13 March 2020 it decided to do a door lock fault DL as well. This has happened once or twice in the past. However this time I could not get it to recognise that the lid was shut and to get the door lock sensor to work. So it would not spin out. I rang the customer call centre on Saturday wasted 1/2 hour of my time explaining all this. There was no record apparently of my first complaint probably in late 2017. Then he said he would log it and that LG would probably compensate me or replace the machine. Just ring the other repair agent supplied at my cost and they would do a report. I rang back to check on Monday and just as well as the call centre had no record of my call with the man on Saturday!!!!!*****. The repair agent costs $117 to call out to do the report. Just as well I did not go ahead as I would have a faulty machine and be out a further $117. I also bought one of these washing machines for my daughter it also had the DE fault!!! My son also was given a silver one as a wedding present. That one is 5 years old and has now got a bad pump. Quality seems to have gone down the drain on the top loader machines, with bad design of unnecessary magnets. (Just do a normal lid with no door lock (what if a kid got locked inside, it couldn't get out!!). I had to give my whole story again to the new lady at the call centre who said she would text back my number. Just as well I got the reference number of my report as the text failed to come through!!!!! She said that she would send my details through to a higher person. Meantime I have a washing machine that I can't safely wash in as it may decide not to function and is extremely difficult e.g. 3/4 hour of DE attempts before you can get it to go at all. In NZ we have the customer guarantees act which covers a product for 5 years. All I have got so far is alot of ducking and diving.
Beware the LG call centre and top loader washing machines if they have not fixed the fault with their lids.
Amazing to start with – I’ve had this washer for about 3yrs now and usually I tend to get a new washer every 5 to 6 years but I’m definitely now looking.... to start it was a dream washed clothes amazingly never had any problems. But after about 2 years it’s just done a 180 and has decided to not wash properly I’ve called everywhere to see that maybe it needs a service… Read more
and nope that’s not it I have been told by the last guy that it’s the most well looked after washing machine his seen and he said that this washer hasn’t had the best rap.... I’m a lover of all LG products and have a fridge, tv, surround sound etc all lg and never have had problems with them as much as I’ve had with this... so definitely looking for a new washer now..... it would be fantastic for someone that needed a well priced washer to get things done for a few years while they save for a better one.... I am looking forward to getting a lg front loader as family and friends have lg front loaders and never have had any problems and I use my mums one quite a bit now for more delicate stuff as I can’t in mine now it just tears them apart and I love hers and she’s had it longer than I’ve had my top loader I’m reviewing. Lg is an amazing product but just not this item after a while.

Not a review problem fix – Lint problem solved. Ok so I have been working as a washing machine Tech for a while now. The problem with lint build up on clothes and washing machine being hard on clothes is caused by clothes rubbing together in the machine. Causes are :- Too little water in the machine. Either increase water level or reduce amount of clothes. Using hot water or warm will improve wash quality. Or dissolving detergent in hot water before putting in machine. Show reply
Love it! – Love it, super quiet, washes well; Im so satisfied. Had it for 3 years now and still going strong. Would buy another again. Never had an issue and simple to use. Show details
Very happy! – I have the 14kg LG top loader and we absolutely love it so when my mum needed a new machine,we didn’t hesitate to go for the LG. This is a perfect size for her, still big enough to wash doona covers and blankets and with all the different cycles she could ever need. she doesn’t have to bend and very easy to see and use.She loves the glass lid and no agitator and it’s very quiet too. Most importantly, the clothes come out perfectly clean every wash with very little creasing and no left over soap or fabric softener residue. It even plays a nice little song at the end..thanks LG,you’ve done it again!

LG WTG9532WH /01 – I bought this in Oct 2020, worst buy ever, LG customer support appalling, was told to get it fixed by a LG repairer and they would reimburse me, now LG are going back on their word. Now a month after repairs for OE error I have another related error code… PE…. More money to fix! On researching LG are renowned for these error codes! Never again will I buy LG!!! Buyer beware!!! Hate it. Never cleans – At first I loved the settings and that it was a great water saver. But I changed my mind soon after After continuous calls to LG to see what was wrong, I was told too much washing liquid, not enough washing liquid, less clothes, more water, service cleaned the filter, every 3 months deep bowl cleaning etc. I continuously have lint on my clothes… Read more

Not one of my best purchases – I purchased this machine as a refurbished machine. I find unless I use the intensive wash, with warm water it does not wash very well. Cycle takes a long time due to all the pre wash rocking and rolling it does. Doesn't spray rinse - just fills tub and rinses. Tub a bit deep which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't so high off the floor - legs… Read more
too high. I'm only short (153cm) but need a pair of tongs to get last things out if tub, especially small things - socks, undies etc Doesn't have an easily accessible lint filter. Have to pull machine out and clean it from back. If I pause cycle and leave it for some time,eg if someone in shower and I want to pause machine to stop water fluctuation, you can't always just start it up as it turns off and you have to go through entire cycle again, not just pick up from when it was paused.

I hate it – I am comparing this machine to my old "fisher & paykel". The spin cycle leaves clothes still very heavy & wet. I used the "air dry" function with no better results. This function is ridiculous, the options are 60, 90,120 minutes, who has this TIME to wait!! I find the barrel very deep, I am struggling to reach into the bottom to collect the socks.… Read more
I use hot water so the glass lid is useless, it fogs up. The buttons at the front of this machine, are annoying, as I am always bumping them & changing the settings. If I fill this machine to capacity it struggles to wash, having no agitator the load is too heavy. I now always fill it half way, the machine can now operate much better, but its taking me forever to finish my loads off. It wont take waterproof items!!! useless!!! I find its a very slow overall time waster. Going back to F & P :)

No luck with it – Had trouble with it from the get go. Tub bangs from side to side no matter what I do. Had the technician out to look at it early on but he said it was simply a levelling issue. Unsafe – This is my 2nd LG machine as the first lasted 19yrs. There is no lint catcher in this and I find lint on clothes often. My main concern with this model happened within 2 years of purchase. I placed 2 Q sheets, a pillowcase and a dressing gown to wash on the Intensive setting. I came home to see the machine had moved out of its spot and the front… Read more
metal panel had ripped out at the top just under the control panel. It looked like it had been in a road accident. The vigour of the internal drum movement had pushed it out. I contacted LG live chat and was asked to check the manual for the Programme Table to see if it was advisable to put those fabrics in together which is ludicrous. I was then advised to, at my own cost, callout a technician and pay for callout and parts. So if you have a problem with LG and seek support the responsibility will be yours not theirs.

Not happy with this 6.5kg new model LG machine – We have had this 6.5 kg LG machine for only 3 months and our clothes are not cleaning well and come out stretched, badly tangled and torn with holes. We are extremely disappointed with this machine. Our previous Fisher & Paykel that lasted 20 yrs was so much better, but our mistake was that we bought this LG model which we are now regretting very much. This machine is ruining our clothes. Hate it!l – We've had this washing machine for 3 years now and it's been horrible pretty much the whole time. It's ruined so many clothes by leaving black marks on them. I've done numerous tub cleans and it makes no difference. I've contacted the company a few times now and they say it's not their fault but mine. Really not impressed and i will not buy lg again. Decent machine – Been using this for almost a year now, working well all sorts of clothes. It did put a hole in one of my shirts but easily fixed by using laundry bags. Have had minor issues with it not being able to turn on but easy to fix. Show details
LG? - Lot of Garbage - Both the Machine & Customer Service – We bought this machine because of the high water-saving rating, energy efficiency, load capacity, water-saving features and ease of use; and it met our needs. We are relatively satisfied with the variety of settings and the choices, although the cycles appear to be longer than previous machines we've had. Our washing consists of sheets and bed… Read more
linen, doona covers, everyday-wear casual clothes and leisure wear, some white-collar business wear, towels, and the grandkids clothes when they visit. We use the machine 3-4 times a week and separate the colours and fabric types, and don't over-loaded it, etc. We maintain it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, including the cleaning cycle. We do not use fabric softener.
Problems with lint commenced almost from the start. We thought it was something we were doing wrong so we went back to the manual. That's when we realised that the only lint filter is at the back of the machine at floor level and we needed to pull the machine out each time to check it. Stupid design. Fool us. Anyway, each check saw it clean. No problems there.
After a month or so dirt began appearing on the bed linen and towels, in particular - as well as the lint. It is now usual practice to wash and rewash the same load. But it still leaves stains, even then.
We called LG Customer Service who advised us that the problem was normal and to be expected. She said it was caused by scum and to fix it we needed to: - Put 2-3 big buckets of boiling water - each bucket with 2-3 dishwasher tablets and caustic soda in it - into the machine. then put the machine on the longest hot wash cycle. and - Always wash clothes, linen, delicates, etc using the hot water cycle.
Ridiculous. We are saving for a new machine, but not a LG. First thing we will ensure is that it has an efficient and easily accessible lint filter.
4 weeks out of warranty it failed! – Nightmare started 4 weeks out of warranty. Got to spin cycle, with a small light load of clothes and it made a gurring noise of a stuck motor. No movement and smell of burning. Waiting for a technition come with a $160 call out fee. Has only been used by me, a single person with light loads. LG 7.5 washing machine – I bought the LG 7.5 recently. It washes very well. Love being able to adjust wash and spin time with the push of a button. Very user friendly. The glass lid is definitely a bonus. Show details
LG washing machine Great! – Fantastic washing machine, does a great job from delicates to heavy duty items. Favourite feature is time delayed wash and quick wash. For a small machine it washes well with a large load. Show details
Great washing machine – Great washing machine. Have been using it for almost a year without any problem. Cleans well and has many functions like soak, delicate wash, quick wash, quiet wash, tub clean and air dry. The glass top lid gives it a great look and it is not too noisy. Since it is agitator-less, it can accommodate more clothes and feels more than 6.5 kg capacity. It is big enough for our family of four (2 adults and 2 children). Show details
Horrible!!!! – Gave one star because I couldn't find '-' or '0' star. after so many complaints about lint filter not working well how come company still selling this product in the market. a 7.5kg machine, i put 3 kgs (less than half a load) in and maximum water, they advised I am overloading machine and i need to use more water- what a joke for a 4 star water efficiency!
Their definition of "troubleshoot" is put clothing in bags and don't overload.
I have lost trust in the brand and quality of customer service. Never again LG. Life is not good!
Worst washing machine ever. No Service from LG – I do 2 washes a week on average; for one person (me!). One load with bed sheets, 1 towel and hand towel and floor mat, the other is office/gym clothes that are not really soiled but some black work pants/skirts. Rarely do I have a wash that I don't have to remove lint. I have one short-haired cat that does not shed much fur. Not dogs, no… Read more
excessively fluffy clothes!! White sheets can come out with brown lint stains over them, meaning I have to put them through a cycle again. I pay for water where I live so this is not economical. The wash cycle I choose is the default wash not the quick cycle as at least this default cycle spins the clothes to be dryer. But it takes quite a long time. I am totally dissatisfied with this machine. Most major parts have been replaced due to faults in the operating when it was barely 1 year old. Mostly the OE error. Finding the lint filter is a nightmare. The machine can end up with an OE error and an incomplete wash cycle and you can't do a thing about it. Manually rinse and wring out the clothes!!!. I read this OE is the filter is clogged but every time a technician has been out, it is "clean as a whistle". So they replaced the motherboard. Next time the struts needed replacing, something the LG technician said happens on a machine nearly 10 years, not 2 years old. Recently it flooded and the OE error again. Incomplete wash and 6 towels to mop up the laundry and dining room inundation. Thank god I have tiles. Technician from LG, who was quite rude to me, said he "could not replicate the error but would replace the pump". Yesterday the spin function stopped working. Another OE error. More hand wringing. All the time I am asking for a refund because this product does not meet consumer expectations that it should wash your clothes and not keep failing. I have been told I have to use the 3 hours of super-heated water Tub Clean cycle (more water and electricity usage) once a month and put vinegar in the water to "break down the lint", and use de-scaler product to "break down the lint", and put the liquid OMO (the highest rated product) into a cup of hot water before using it to reduce lint. 10 years with a Fisher and Paykel and never had to do any of those things. I have NEVER used fabric softener. But what if people choose to? LG don't recommend it as it encourages lint. The LG support centre refuses to give me a contact for LG Australia to communicate with. I have been told "if it can be fixed, it won't be replaced". Every time I call LG with a problem, they tell me "but madam, you have only called us once before" so they do not keep a track of all the times this machine has failed. I have had to ask them to consolidate all call records. So I have an 8.5kg machine with very little demand on it's fundamental design (to wash clothes) and it fails my expectations. It is only just 3 years old. I see LG not backing up their reputation by authorising a refund on what is very obviously the worst washing machine I have ever used (and many others after reading this web site). I am going back to F&P or Simpson. In short, LG needs to step up and look after customers. Very, very disappointed.
No regrets – I purchased my LG Washing Machine after my Fisher and Paykel of 20 years finally stopped working. I did quite a bit of research and both LG and F & P came up as very good products. Whilst I may have preferred the F & P, I was limited by the lid opening space I had to my Wall Dryer hence the purchase of the LG. To date I have been quite happy… Read more
with this appliance. I read other reviews where people complained of the clothes being twisted and tangled and yes this does happen but as I usually hang my clothes on the line, it doesn't take much to untangle them. It would probably be more annoying if you were putting them in the dryer.
I find it washes the towels very clean (as good as if not better than my old F & P) on the towel cycle. It doesn't seem to be too hard on our clothes. I always do a cotton wash cycle. To date I haven't really used any of the other options except a quick wash which is good for smaller loads. On average the time for a wash is anywhere between an hour and an hour and fifteen mins and that is with a full load. I am quite happy with no agitator in the middle of the machine and I do like the see through, soft close lid.
I have had a problem on at least 6 occasions of the machine indicating there was a problem with the lid closing (code "de"). I have to wipe the contact points a couple of times to get the machine to start, so I don't know whether it is using washing powder vs washing liquid that causes the problem or it is a defect with the machine and other users have that problem too. I have not rung LG yet to discuss this issue so I can't comment on what help I will receive from them but I will ring next time it happens.
Overall I am very happy with this product which not only performs to my satisfaction but looks good in the laundry as well.
Excellent but – The machine has more high tech functions that will provide almost any wash combinations possible, Great value at the price and the warranty service is very good.
