Had for 5 years but LG is known for having issues with gunk/scrud getting stuck under impeller plate (disk at bottom that spins) Hard/risky to remove to clean or $$$ to get it serviced. After 20++ cleans we gave up on getting it out. Tub clean meant to be hot but only selects cold and uses cold. Hot hose is definitely working/connected. Noticed the sensor hasn't been sensing the water level correct for a while too. Show details

It handles large loads easily and washes everything really well without being too noisy. The controls are simple to use, and I like that it’s energy-efficient too. Clothes come out fresh and almost dry after the spin cycle.

Had this machine for three years now and have been totally dissatisfied with its capabilities. Clothes ripped and knotted on gentle wash. Soap scum left on clothes even after 3 rinse cycles. Noisy squeals when in operation. Grinding noise during cycles. Plastic housing the control panel is cracked in 3 places. Clothes go in dirty and come out the same...DONT BUY!!! Show details

my busy bestie – I love my new machine, she works hard at cleaning our clothes, linens, even the dog's bedding. She has an amazing delay start so that I can have her complete the load as I literally walk in the door from work. The only downside is my husband claims she sounds like a helicopter taking off when she goes into spin mode, but I don't notice it, however… Read more

Exactly what we needed! – Every day our washing machine meets at least 3 loads of washing. From everyday clothing to towels and sheets. Yes, we wash a lot. After owning the same washing machine for 20 years we upgraded and its been fantastic. The huge tub enables bigger loads. Simple directions meant we could use it straight away after unpacking! For the few years I had the machine it was good but you never know what is in the box. Meaning I had the service department out three times to fix three separate issues until it couldn't be fixed. Luckily I had an extended warranty so the machine was replaced with a new machine of my choice.

A good machine, solid construction ! – This machine is big, 14kg in fact, it usually take one and a half hours for a standard wash with one deep rinse. I liked the one before it that had the agitator, but this can wash a large blanket easily because it has a swirling action like the old twin tub washing machines! I dont like the fact that its hard to get the washing off the bottom if… Read more

you have a generous body size...I sort of have to lean in sideways to get it out! Doesn't do a bad job, but you need to make sure that you put it on a full load on level 10 water level. I like the look of the machine, and there are several options. It stays balanced well and spins all the water out. The lint is rinsed out with the rinse water.

How hard is it to buy a machine that does what it’s supposed to do – My lg machine is almost 4 years old and lately it’s been making an awful loud noise when it spins out the water Any one had this before ? So I rang the lg customer number and was talking to a women who I could hardly understand I asked where she was located and low and behold shes in The Phillipines ‍ Are you kidding me All I wanted to know… Read more

Waste of money – Water level is not correct. Half way through wash there is still dry items on top of pile in machine. Sometimes when I pull sheets out of the machine to dry, there are dry spots. It's as if the water never touched that part of the sheet. When pouring detergent into drawer it just falls straight out the back and onto the dry clothes. It takes… Read more

54mins to do a small load of washing. I just washed two towels and a sheet (they belong to the cat), with one one cup of detergent, canestan wash and napisan and pulled them out of the machine and they still smell. It's not the detergent as when I used it on other washes my clothes smelt clean. I really can't wait to buy another machine

Not what I was expecting – In short, the sensor wash does not put enough water in the machine (more clothes are above the water then in it so I have to restart the machine and select the appropriate water level. Also, I find there is more lint on my clothing then in the poor excuse for a lint filter. I have noticed that a lot of other people have said the same thing. Other than that, the machine works as expected. Show details

Waste of money - do not buy – I purchased this machine in June 2022 & spent a total of $1,054.00. Including 5 years concierge gold service. I have contacted cust care & they have arranged for someone to come &… Read more

inspect. Let's hope they don't deem it as "user error." This was not a cheap machine & after reading the same problem in other people's reviews, why hasn't there been a recall? Clearly it's a defective product. I thought if I spent quite a bit on a machine, I would get a quality product.

Nice and quiet and easy to use – I bought this machine a year ago as my previous 14 year old Fisher and Pykel top loader stopped rinsing. Overall I'm happy with this 9kg LG top loader as it washes my queen size doona well and it does a good job of washing socks and towels. With jumpers and my Bonds cotton underwear, these were ripped in the first few months of using this… Read more

machine. I repeatedly had to sow the stitching together. Strangely it hasn't ripped any clothes lately. I set the machine on cotton wash, water level 5 then when it fills up I press pause and open lid and add a bucket of water to it as it doesn't seem to use enough water. I also add an additional rinse because I don't want my clothes to smell of detergent and irritate my skin. It rinses well and I clean the filters after each wash and never had a problem with lint. I also don't put much washing into each load, maybe only a towel, T shirt, socks and bonds and that's it. Cycle times are fine, features and controls are also fine but I now hand wash my jumpers.

A terrible washing machine - not recommended! – We bought this terrible LG 9kg Washing Machine from Harvey Norman on the 11/7/2022. And we have had nothing but trouble with it. First, it is taking an hour just to do a ridiculously small load. The spin dry is not working properly, and the towels especially are so wet after the hour washing cycle. The towels being so damp take so long to dry, so… Read more

Worst machine ever. Do not buy! – Lint adhering to clothes, detergent drawer useless as it just pours straight through onto clothes. Clothes covered in detergent when dry. Water levels totally inadequate. You call this a washing machine? More like a clothing destroyer.

Just doesn't clean – Whether we're washing normal clothes or heavily soiled material, this LG just cannot seem to get the dirt out compared to our old frontloader. For the first time in 10 years grass stains remain after the wash, and socks just aren't cleaned. A gift or would have sent it back – Worst washing machine I have ever owned, I was going to get the bigger size but son surprised me with the smaller 9kg for Christmas. death because of how wet the clothes are left! The filters are ok and need constant cleaning or they smell the machine out but are easy enough to clean. Machine easy to use and quiet. Time wise they run fine and I always use the highest setting (5 people in the house) I should have stuck with my old FP at least my clothes would have been spun out better ….. very dissatisfied with this machine, No good for a family at all.

Worst washing machine I ever used! – I love top loaders and had lg top loader before and loved it unitl it wouldn't work any more! clothes....so I always need to use the wool setting for most of our clothes but it just doesn't wash them and leaves all the soap residue destroying all our clothes....it's such a disappointment! When washing bed sheets they end up with dirt and fluff. It leaves build up of dirt, soap and lots of fluff in my clothes (and i clean the filter after every wash) All the settings just destroy your clothes! Would not recommend to anyone. It's so disappointing, it's cost me more, always needing new cloths for the family because it destroys them.

OK But Not Without Issues – Our previous machine was a Fisher & Paykel (seems to be the common denominator here) but unfortunately the panel gave up, and as you probably already know, it's cheaper to buy a new machine than to replace the panel. So we've ended up with this LG 9kg toploader. Agree with almost all the observations here - automatic water level is inadequate so… Read more

you have to do it manually, lint is left all over clothes after a wash (why?? .. our last one didn't have lint filters and this one does?), spin speed is inadequate - clothes are noticeable wetter after a cycle and take longer to dry (don't really want to use an extra 30/60 minutes electricity for Air Spin)... and it seems that when you use a soak cycle, it switches itself off so you have to come back and set up the spin cycle? The F&P did both consecutively. So not fans of the machine yet. Not really what we expected, however I notice that Choice has been giving very low ratings to some new F&P machines so not sure we'd be any happier if we had have bought one of those instead!

Would not recommend – My previous machine was a Fisher & Paykel. Loved it and it lasted 10 years. Bought this one bc LG was highly rated as a washing machine brand. I’m very disappointed with my purchase. The cycles are only semi-manual so u r limited to what u can select for spin speed and things if that nature. It doesn’t use enough water to wash with. You can see… Read more

thru the lid that it’s trying to wash clothes that are basically wet but no free water in the bowl. This results in lint and sometimes detergent marks. I always have to manually set the water level bc it’s not adequate otherwise. The cycles take a long time if u want it to wash in plenty of water and spin properly dry. The detergent drawer is pointless bc it runs straight thru anyway. The best thing about this machine is the tune it plays at the end. I wish it had the option to set a ‘favourite’ cycle like my old machine had as well. Regret my purchase completely.

Worst washing machine – Constant issues with lint being left on clothes, even though we separate everything. I have been running the drum clean and issue still persists. Clothes get tangle together after the spin. I contacted Lg support and they just sent me instructions how to reduce lint which is the steps we were already taking. Will never buy LG again Show details

The worse washing machine – I am totally dissatisfied with this washing machine. I normally wash in Cotton option and never overload it. leaves build up stuffs and lots of fluffs in my clothes. - I normally had to add extra rinse to get the clothes with less dirt. - I normally adjust the water level manually as I found the automatic option doesn’t use enough water. - I never had these issues with my previous LG washing machine.

A technician came and said this is normal and that’s the way the machine works.

Unacceptable. I won’t recommend this machine at all.

I am also attaching some pictures.

Not What we wanted – Works well except the quick wash function does not allow for extra rinses even though LG staff say it should and the manual does not say it can't. This happened on two machines. Our two daughters have older same machines which allows the extra rinse no issues. Too much drama to return the second unit and LG could not guarantee a warranty call out would be at no charge. Show details

Excellent Washing Machine – Sort your clothes, put it in the machine, add detergent, close the lid and the machine will do the rest. You can select different washing modes. It's a 9kg load, perfectly clean every time. Easy to clean the filters after washing. The machine is very quiet, can even adjust it to a quiet cycle to wash while the household is asleep. Love it, it's a great product! Show details ·  1

I should have bought another Fisher & Paykel 10L – Or probably a front loader as Choice don't recommend any top loaders. My old Fisher & Paykel worked better across the board - better clean, more gentle, better spin - but it broke down after about 8 years so I wanted something really different.
