I purchased AIA Advantage Plus life insurance through iselect. Iselect now are in partnership with Lifebroker. l asked for my premium type to be changed from "stepped" to "Optimum" retrospectively. Not to change the policy, just the premium type. Iselect managed to have it changed, even though I'm on claim now iselect knew I was on claim, and… Read more

told me that my being on claim was on their computer screen. My file with iselect now has a note that a salesperson can't answer questions, and I had to wait 2 days for a Manager to return my call. AlA I have now sent me: 1. A quote signed off by AlA's Retail Insurance Chief, on letterhead, in PDF format; 2. A confirmation of change of premium type, with it having been changed already; 3. A "premium prediction" table based on "Optimum" premium type with an annual increase of 5% which takes the premium through to age 74 (I won’t live that long anyway). I have accepted this change in utmost good faith, but AlA are trying to say they will honour it for only 1 year.

The effect of this change is that AlA will get less money in premiums each month (up to about $1k less per month.

AlA are basically trying to weasel their way out of an already contracted change to premium type. But life insurance is, basically a gamble. 8 years ago I wanted to look after my family in case something bad happened. I was a very low risk. My health issue is down to a freak thing. No one expected it. I certainly didn't want it. But it happened. My terminal heart failure is a great example of why life insurance is a gamble. I have heard that some actuarials set gambling odds as a side gig. I've sent the documents to my Federal MP's office, and will send this info to ASIC. Why should any company be allowed to get away with such an egregious breach of a contracted agreement?

AIA are refusing to honour the premium projections provided through iselect. Lifebroker have offered non help in this matter.

Unsolicited calls – I am being spamed with unsolicited calls from this company. They shouldn't even have my details. Show details

Really attentive to get your signed up but poor after sales service – The team at Lifebroker were initially really good to sign you up for Life Insurance. They were attentive, responsive and arranged my Life Insurance with OnePath. Fortunately, OnePath has been taken over by Zurich Insurance, but that is another story. I had significant difficulties with OnePath where they created duplicate policies and deducted… Read more

twice the amount of money from my Super and Bank account. I thought I would try to deal with Lifebroker as they were the brokers who encourage you to resolve issues. To be honest it was extremely difficult to call them and get a reasonable response. Even when you do, it seems to be the same guy you get every time. It's like they only have one staff member that fields all the calls now. He told me several times he will work with OnePath to resolve the issue but failed to do so in a timely way. It got to a point, I gave up working with Lifebroker and emailed directly Zurich with a cc to Lifebroker raising a complaint. It took about a week before Zurich responded.

I would definitely think again to use Lifebroker as I think they just don't care once they sign you up. You are better to directly go to the insurance company and try to arrange the cover needed.

Professional, thorough, patient and helpful broker who helped me secure a policy exceeding my expectations – Despite having health challenges which made the process a challenge for my broker, they were incredibly helpful, patient, professional and understanding of my situation. My consultant Nicholas Masunda (Nick) was thorough, informative and always kept me abreast of what options were available to me as he explored these to find me the best possible… Read more

policy.

The process was straightforward and couldn’t have been more smooth. All my questions were answered thoroughly and responses were prompt.

I ended up securing a policy with Nicholas and it has been the best possible one I have been able to access in the market, having previously sought financial advice elsewhere with little to no luck due to my health issues being a source of complication.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Lifebroker and particularly Nicholas Masunda (in fact I already have recommended them to a family friend who is currently in the process of securing a life insurance policy).

Inadequate time to review terms of offer – I had approached this company to assist me with Life and Income protection insurance earlier this year. Today is Friday 17/12/2021. I am provided with the "terms of offer notification". The insurance consultant tells me that she is going on leave today and that I must respond to the offer today or at the latest by Sunday 19/12/2021 or the price… Read more

will change and that "the series will no longer be available" after this date".

I would have thought that as a consumer, I would be entitled to sufficient time to seek a legal review of the offer. As I have had less than one business day to seek this review, I find this totally unreasonable.

Disinterested Broker Who Simply Couldn't Care Less! – Like the previous review, it really did become a hard and slow road dealing with Lifebroker consultant Nicholas Masunda. Emails and calls back and forth for weeks only to be offered an insurance policy which didn't cover my mortgage when I had provided detailed documentation from my bank outlining exact figures. General feeling was a lack of… Read more

care and interest in providing good customer service, plus a general arrogance as there was no understanding that this needed to be sorted in a timely fashion and not drag out for weeks like it did. No excuse for taking days to respond to emails and constantly getting details incorrect. Basically not listening to the customer and making the whole process ALOT more difficult than it needed to be. In the end I still don't have mortgage protection thanks to their terrible customer service! Am currently seeking out another broker who hopefully knows what they are doing.

Started off okay, but became a slog – First of all, Lifebroker appear to be owned by TAL so you should know the favoured policies will always be with TAL. We had to have sooooo many phone calls with Silvana and Nathan chasing up our policies and details, and now, three months later, we still haven't received accurate information and they're proving uncontactable. Really wouldn't recommend.  Show details

Unprofessional, awful experience – I was organising life insurance for myself and my wife, they called my wife and after 40 mins interrogation they still needed another 20 mins. She was in tears after the phone call, she simply was taking antibiotics and sleep medication due to really nasty cough. She was treated like some kind of invalid and the questions were unreasonable, I can… Read more

only imagine what they put through people who have serious health conditions. All they had to say at the beginning of the call that if you take prescription medication and saw a specialist recently, the call make take up to say 50 mins. We had a screaming child but they just carried on and when wife said she didn't have any more time, they never called back later to follow up. However they did take the funds from the bank account on the day, I have been chasing for a refund for over a month and they don't respond to emails. We got life insurance policies elsewhere with no problems and at a better price.

Brilliant Customer Service. Excellent Comparisons and Prices! – Lifebroker have been my insurance brokers for the last couple of years and I cannot recommend them enough. I have used them for the last 2 years and in that time have applied for an income protection policy and trauma insurance policy. Signing up for these policies couldn't have been easier and the information I received was second to none.… Read more ·  1

They answered my questions truthfully and took the time to understand my needs while not treating me like an idiot. Their team was exceptional with setting me up and they were also able to offer the best policies I could find anywhere.

I cancelled my trauma insurance policy about a year ago as it wasn't servicing my needs and the whole situation again was a breeze.

In the last couple of months I inquired about changing my payout amount and also getting rid of a policy exclusion. My personal broker Angela went above and beyond to help me and provide me with my best options.

I haven't been able to find a better deal than what Lifebroker negotiated with regards to income protection through to 65 years old on a leveled plan. Give them a call and I'm sure you'll leave with a better option than what you started with.

Cool – Put my info in after reading an article about them and have received emails and quotes. Still deciding what to go with, but really appreciated their customer service, one email with quotes and a follow up call. No hassling me. I recently tried to get a quote from iselect and within SECONDS of putting in my details I was receiving calls!!!! This… Read more ·  1

Great Service – In regards to @kittens response. I tend to disagree completely. Yes, i have received a number of calls and emails from the Rep who has taken on my enquiries regarding insurance and i mentioned that i would contact them when i was ready. They were more than happy for me to get back to them, and yes, they occasionally called me up and checked if i… Read more ·  1

was ready to take out insurance. But this was fine for me, because i was honestly looking for insurance, and they have saved me in excess of 50% on a previous quote from someone who was only in it for the money (i mentioned this to my previous rep who quoted me elsewhere - and they never called me back!).

The Reps at lifebroaker are great and friendly, and i recommend them to anyone who is honestly looking for the insurances they have on offer. friendly and honest service. they to constantly contact you, but if you ask them not to, that's fine.

Lifebroker - So far so good – I recently had a bad experience with a financial advisor. This guy has got the whole "I don't get out of bed for less than 10 grand" attitude and needs a good kick in the pants! Lifebroker on the other hand, being an independant unbiased company who I feel really do want to help you out are very patient and willing to answer all the hairy… Read more ·  1

questions. I used the iQuote system on a Sunday at around lunch time and got a call on my mobile no less than 15 minutes later! Impressive! I was then able to call back and speak for a half an hour or so with a Lifebroker rep who actually sounded like she cares! Bonus!

I strongly recommend using Lifebroker. Just make sure you do the research and ask all the right questions. If you you don't ask... they won't tell you. Fast & friendly service. Quick responses to calls and emails. Willing to answer all questions.
