Warranty pain – Our Iconn E2 purchased in July 2022 developed a fault in the door mechanism causing the opening/closing to fail completely after 10 months. The same problem appears to be common, looking on the E2 facebook members page. Despite repeated attempts to obtain a replacement under warranty, the Lifestyle Camper service department in Brisbane has not… Read more
been able to obtain a new door. Customer service is letting the company down, unfortunately. It's a shame because the E2 hybrid camper is generally fine otherwise.

Very poor quality. DO NOT RECOMMEND Lifestyle camper trailers WHATSOEVER. ZERO STARS – My partner and I bought a brand new breakaway ultra 3 years ago. The salesman was very rude to me until I mentioned who my partner is and who he works for. I noticed bubbling in the paint when we picked it up (brand new) and the woman said “oh that’s normal, that’s how we get it from the factory ”. Within a week we took the trailer back for a bad… Read more
water leak, they didn’t fix it. Both windows fell out. The bubbling paint is now all over the van. We have taken it back to them on numerous occasions for faults and problems.. 12 hour round trip at our expense each and every time. They would promise to fix the issues but it never solved the problems. Just bog and paint. It has now cracked on every weld. None of the inside drawers work properly or close. The gas connection crumbled into pieces. The water pump failed after a couple of months. The connection to the hot water for shower was the wrong connector. We had to replace the jockey wheel. The scissors for roof pinched and put cuts into the canvas and frame. Scissor lift bolt broke and gouged out the paint. The power connections next to the bed burnt out due to the water leaking. The water leaks have also put major bubbling inside, rotten the timber. I cannot store anything next to the bed. We’ve had major suspension fail and had to replace the lot. Handfuls of screws and pop rivets have fallen out. Internal framework has been siliconed and not welded ( this is where the van twists). Lifestyle have claimed that we have a bent roof and they can’t fix it. An independent assessor has made a report that the van was built wrong. The main door pins fell out. One of the water tanks hose was glued inside the outlet, not clamped on the outside. We cannot sell due to the issues. My partner detailed the van every week as we work in the caravan and camping industry and it needs to look and work good. We took all of these issues to lifestyle whilst under warranty. We have also been bullied online when we ask if anyone has a solution to fix these problems. They have also started bullying other lifestyle owners that we know on Facebook. We currently have a claim with the ACCC and QLD department of fair trading… unfortunately I cannot give zero stars. Buyers be warned, these campers are proving to be unsafe, even the Australian made ones.
black n gold – bought a used or one year old R4.. Love the layout..very functional suits our life style... First trip in 2020 fridge (with only 4 self tappers holding it in) rattled out. All drawers and hinges fell apart. Dometic cook top burner thermo switch also malfunctioned. Poor material selection and poor workmanship.. Contacted lifestyle as Van was still… Read more
under warranty. Even though it was purchased via a lifestyle agent lifestyle said the warranty did not carry through.. Legally wrong. A position I should have pushed... I live quite remotely and have no interests travelling 8 hours to have them repeat the shoddy workmanship and then give me a blister.. They agreed to send me the materials to fix the van myself.. Lifestyle lied... they never sent the materials and now have no intention of doing so.. Be wary of this mob.. Now out of warranty and a trip along the darling the storage box floor collapsed. It appears its load rating is that of a 10kilo duffel bag.. Floor held up by 2 tech screws that were poorly located and there also being a 7mm gap between floor base and supporting rhs. Again poor workmanship and materials.. Still love the layout but spoilt by shoddiness.
The owners are rude and lie when it suits them – We had horrible customer service from the owners, Anita and Mike. I love our Iconn E2 but I probably wouldn’t buy another lifestyle camper because it would mean dealing with them again, and that isn’t going to happen!! Anita was curt and bossy with our kids when we looked around their showroom and The Dirt eventually stopped allowing customers… Read more
into the caravans due to covid. I don’t know any other dealer that did the same; how do you spend $40k+on a camper/caravan without looking in it first?!
We eventually ordered a camper through The Dirt (big mistake) but then cancelled it a few months later because we were so unhappy with Anita’s poor customer service. She is just downright rude! Interestingly, I spoke to my work colleagues about her poor attitude and one of them told me he once visited The Dirt to look at their campers but left early because he didn’t like Anita’s attitude. He went on to buy a camper elsewhere. That speaks for itself; another lost sale.
Eventually we went on to order the new model (Iconn E2) from Camping Adventures in Victoria. We had a great experience with them and were never made to feel like we were an inconvenience to them, like The Dirt did.
On a side note, in Oct 2021 we went to the 4X4 show in Adelaide. We walked around the show and looked in LOTS of caravans (probably 100’s). All of them allowed people to enter the vans and look around, with ONE exception; you guessed it, The Dirt. They were the ONLY company that prevented people going into their caravans. That says it all really.
So, the last part of the story goes like this;
After taking delivery of our camper it needed a repair on the entry door (and a couple of other minor repairs). We reluctantly took it to The Dirt because they are the auth’d dealer. After having our camper for nearly 2 weeks they told us we had to take it to another company to get the door fixed because they were unable to fix it. The company was 50km away! Toby at The Dirt told us the repair was auth’d under warranty and we just needed to take the camper there. The other minor repairs were bodged and not completed properly.
We dropped the camper off and it was repaired. When we went to collect the camper we were told it hadn’t been paid for. I called Mike, the owner, at The Dirt. He told me on the phone that the repair was ‘unauthorised’ because they decided the fault was caused by our misuse of the door. This was the first we knew of this! I asked him to get Toby to ring me back; that never happened. I was left with an almost $600 bill I had to pay for.
I complained to Lifestyle and they quickly rectified the problem and reimbursed me. Unfortunately Mike subsequently lied to Lifestyle Head-office and claimed he had personally called the repairer and auth’d the repair. That never happened; he told me over the telephone, on the day I collected the camper, that the repair was NOT being covered under warranty. Why did he lie? I don’t know. Maybe he was bitter about us cancelling our camper???
To add insult to injury, Mike sent me an email in response to my complaint. He did not apologise or try to make good his lies, he just made things worse by putting the following comment at the end of his email;
“given your feedback below, I suggest you go elsewhere”.
This comment was in response to me asking The Dirt to finish the other repairs they started and didn’t finish properly.
Unfortunately for Lifestyle Campers, I will not buy another Lifestyle Camper whilst The Dirt are their SA dealer. I love their products but I really dislike their dealer.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone – Walked into the qld branch super excited to buy a camper. Omg I wasn’t expecting the arrogant attitude! Sales staff spent our time bagging other brands and didn’t tell me anything about their product. They didn’t have a floor model but they had a sold one there. I asked if I could take a look and was told not to go inside and they didn’t show me… Read more
the trailer. This is a 80k sale and 2 year wait you would think they would have a better attitude. Can’t see this brand been around for long after reading more reviews. Total waste of my time

Nothing good to say about LIFESTYLE CAMPERS – Nothing good to say. Bought a breakaway ultra new plated 2019. Nothing but trouble since day one. My van is a lemon. Will never recommend the company. It is so bad it can’t be sold Kev from Woolgoolgaoffroad Show details
AT2 2018 Model – We purchased AT2 in 2018 and last year travelled to north west WA via Tanami Road, Gibb River Road and many more true outback roads. Worst was the 22klm road into Wolfe Creek. Road into Bungles 52klm not great either. The AT2 structurally held up very well doors & drawers fell apart after day 1. Hinges & drawer runners were not up to the job.… Read more
Cabinet frames shelves are metal and showed no issues. The Dexter sway control was tested on the Tanami Road when we encountered loose dirt (Bulldust) and the LH side dug in and then released the wheel causing the car & van to spear on a 45 degree angle nearly jack nifing. Paid for there and then well done Dexter Sway Control. We covered 20,000 Klm in total (approx 6,000 on dirt). Cabinet doors & drawers were repaired under warranty no questions asked. We free camped a lot have 3 x 120 AH Batteries, 400 watts of solar & 260 Litres water never ran low on power or water, Overall very good rock solid unit. (Now its had its shakedown items tested and repairs completed can not wait to tackle some of QLD outback)
Amazing product and service – We just picked up our new camper and cannot speak highly enough of the team at Lifestyle Campers. The Salesperson was knowledgeable and was able to explain things in a way we understood. My wife and I would recommend them to anyone! Show details
Powder coat lifted after 3 years. Not good enough! – We bought our trailer new in 2009 and within 3 years the powder coat was peaking off in large sections. Very disappointed. Contacted Lifestyle and they were not interested in helping at all. After sales help was poor to say the least. They got the sale, waited till warranty ran out and then were disinterested in any help. Show details
Great value Lifestyle off road campers – I have now owned a "Breakaway Ultra" off road camper for eighteen months, and traveled over 12,000 km of all that the Aussie outback has to offer. This rig is a unique designed fast set up hybrid like no other and built for practicality and above all strength. Ideal for two people and easy to modify for individual requirements.
