I have the same experience as other HCF members. This is locked out number 5. I wanted to make use of the HCF thank you benefit but kept getting locked out every single time I made purchase, get an email to say order was cancelled due to unusual activity and I have to ring them, email them about the same issue. Why can't I have access to my own account to spend my own money?? So fed up with this. Show details

Been an HCF member for over 10 years. Tried for the first time to buy an e-gift card for Myer. Took my money, but no e-gift cards when I looked at the order a day later it said cancelled. No reason. Seems to be a scam. After I reached out they advised it was cancelled for “error received” and I need to wait for a refund 5-7 business days - I don’t… Read more

have the money now to buy the gift until I get this refund. Stay away. Don’t know how HCF can promote something like this

Avoid redeeming any JBHiFi gift cards through HCF. They locked my account after i tried to buy JBHiFi gift cards and the customer support is not helpful at all.

Delayed delivery of gift cards – Yesterday I wanted to purchase two gift cards through HCF Rewards. I paid by card and after the payment went through the account got blocked. I emailed and called their help desk and was told it would take up to 2 business days (!) until I would get the gift cards. As I needed the gift cards for an immediate purchase I told them to cancel the… Read more

whole transaction as I didn't want to wait 2 days for the gift cards. Big mistake. Today I discovered that the refund from the Visa card was $50 less than what was originally deducted. Obviously not happy. I notice that other reviewers had the same experience of being locked out of account after payment and having gift card delivery delayed. I should have read the Product Reviews first.

Hopeless and DONT USE! – ive had the exact same issue as the other member who tried to purchase a voucher and got locked out for suspicious activity. email from nib clearly says the transaction was cancelled however amount has been debited in my credit card and i dont have access to the voucher!!! PLEASE AVOID any reward program offered by your health insurance that is tied back by Lifestyle rewards. I cant believe this mob is still in operation.

Hopeless & dodgy – I ordered movie vouchers through the HCF Lifestyle Reward program. Money taken but no vouchers arrived. I checked the website order and found they had cancelled my order. No reason given. I rang the helpline who confirmed the order was cancelled. They promised a refund of my money. So I purchased tickets at the cinema. Then, 6 days later, they… Read more

delivered me the now useless vouchers. Despite promising delivery of digital vouchers in 48 hrs (why it takes 48 hours to get a digital voucher I don't know, but that's another story), it took 6 days. I asked for a refund and they refused. Hopeless. Dodgy. HCF should ditch Lifestyle Rewards.

Give it a miss, it's not worth the trouble – I decided to take advantage of the rewards available in my HCF account so I could purchase a gift for my partner from JB Hifi and take advantage of the Click Frenzy discounts as well. I purchased some JB Hifi vouchers from Lifestyle Rewards. They took the money out of my credit card, then locked the account, then reversed the transaction, claiming… Read more

one of: unusual purchasing activity on your Rewards account unusual financial activity on your Rewards account unusual log in activity on your Rewards account. Now, I'm pretty sure 90% of people who use those rewards would be doing once off purchases, so they will fall into those categories. What I find offensive is that they have locked up credit in my credit account immediately and I have to wait for the reversal to come through for that to be unlocked. Also, because they locked my account, I can't get the vouchers that give me an extra discount during JB Hifi's Click Frenzy period. The Click Frenzy has now expired, so even if I get the vouchers now, I lose the benefit of that. HCF should find someone else to do their benefits through, because that is just rubbish.

Find Somewhere Else to buy your discounted Gift Cards – I concur with the previous reviewer, that Lifestyle Rewards lie about the savings on their gift cards. I also purchase mine via HCF Rewards. And while I agree that it’s great to be able to save money on a variety of gift cards, especially when us poor suckers are now having to endure “Weimar Republic” levels of hyperinflation, it’s not nice to… Read more

lie about the savings.

Here’s my experience:

According to the attached email message/confirmation that I received from L.R./H.C.F., on 13 Jan 2023, I have saved $5 on my purchase of a $50 Priceline gift card. But how is that possible if I paid $45.45 for it? Using fairly basic arithmetic, if a 50 gift card costs 45.45, then the saving is 4.55, not 5. Clearly, L.R. do not consider credit card fees as costs.

I have already complained to H.C.F. twice, but never received any response from them.

The answer for L.R., is to either stop lying about the savings, or, better still, to offer customers a fee-free payment option. But, until this happens, I prefer to purchase my discounted gift cards through other sources, such as A.G.L., or Mac Bank, where you can pay by eftpos or direct debit with no fees.

Lifestyle Rewards/Edge Loyalty Systems: Spinning untruths – Lifestyle Rewards / Edge Loyalty Systems operates a benefits platform to which organisations can sign up to offer loyalty benefits to their customers or employees. One example is HCF’s Thank You program in which HCF members can buy discounted Giftcards like Woolworths eGift cards. Savings are a big benefit when working to a strict budget, so HCF… Read more

Thank You is warmly welcomed. Lifestyle Rewards charges a fee when you buy a gift card, while fees are unwelcome I don’t object as the company has to make a profit to stay in business.

What I do hugely object to on principle is the “spin” by Lifestyle Rewards (see photo). For example, its advertising copy says save 4% on a Woolworths eGift card. For a $200 eGiftcard, simple arithmetic says a saving of 4% means I pay only $192 in real money. But Lifestyle Rewards charges 1% or $1.92 in fees, meaning I end up paying $193.92 in real money thus saving $6.08.

BUT Lifestyle Rewards statement (see photo) insists: “You have saved $8” - a blatant untruth.

Such a barefaced lie prompts me to wonder what else is Lifestyle Rewards not telling the truth about? Also, is the 1% credit card fee considered excessive for a business like Lifestyle Rewards?
