AI reviews summary
Prezzee receives polarised feedback, with a significant divide between users praising the high quality of human customer support and those experiencing critical technical or security failures. While many find the platform a convenient and fast gifting solution, recurring reports of account locks, fraudulent activity on cards, and a difficult interface for less tech-savvy users are prominent.
Pros
- Exceptional Human Support: When users reach live agents (specifically mentioning staff like Jessie, Red, and Nova), they report fast, empathetic, and effective resolution of issues such as accidental deletions or incorrect email addresses.
- Convenience and Speed: The platform is frequently praised for near-instant delivery of digital gifts and the ability to schedule gifts for specific dates and times.
- Versatile Gifting Options: Users appreciate the "Smart Card" feature, which allows recipients to swap their credit for a wide variety of retailers, making it a popular choice for those unsure of what to buy.
- Budgeting Tool: Some users find the app helpful for personal financial management, using it to lock away grocery money via Afterpay or "Pay in 4" services.
Cons
- Security and Fraud Issues: Multiple users reported significant financial losses due to cards being drained by third parties or accounts being flagged for "fraud" and locked immediately after purchase, with some waiting weeks for refunds.
- Poor Automated Support: The AI chatbot is frequently described as "useless" and "circular", with users often forced to wait in long phone or chat queues for hours to reach a human who can actually help.
- Complex User Interface: The process of "swapping" cards, creating accounts, and managing PINs is described as high-friction and confusing, particularly for elderly users or those without smartphones.
- Technical Glitches: Recurring complaints include the website working intermittently, SMS verification codes failing to arrive, and gift cards showing as "invalid" at retail checkouts despite appearing active in the app.
Verdict
Prezzee is a highly effective tool for rapid digital gifting when the system works as intended, backed by a capable human support team. However, the platform's reliance on aggressive automated security protocols and a complex redemption process makes it a risky choice for large denominations or for recipients who are not technologically proficient.

Absolutely garbage! Do not use this Prezzee to buy gift cards. It's misleading for customers to swap to shopcards and eventually it takes your money ... "Try again later" ..
**20/05/2026 UPDATE: My account did not or does not have a "fraud" or "payment" lock on it apprently but yet I tried to purchase one a moment ago and same s**t, nothing's changed. I don't have time for this pathetic company or the patience to extract the real reason why this is happening, stick your account and gift cards where the sun don't shine… Read more
Prezzee, I'm deleting my account. I will dedicate time to makiung sure if anyone mentions they will be using your company, I will talk them out of it, in fact tell them they will end up with high blood pressure and go to Afterpay or any of your competitors, not affiliates!**
I am beyond frustrated with my experience using Prezzee. I recently opened an account and successfully purchased three gift cards using PayPal Pay in 4. Everything went through perfectly. However, when I tried to do the exact same thing again—using the same device, the same verified PayPal account, and the same payment method—Prezzee suddenly decided to decline every single attempt. The logic behind their "security system" is non-existent and frankly insulting. Because they have flagged the transaction as a "fraud risk" for no apparent reason, they cancel the order on their end. I don't get why it's flagged, billing and shipping match, email and phone did not change, so it's a pretty trash system if it catches THAT as fraud LOL! However, because PayPal Pay in 4 approves the credit application instantly, the first installment is still deducted from my bank account, FOR ABOUT A WEEK! So now, I am stuck in a position where Prezzee has effectively stolen my money for a week while they "rectify" the situation. It shouldn't take seven days to process a refund for a digital order that they chose to cancel. If your system is smart enough to flag me as a risk, it should be smart enough to trigger an immediate reversal of funds. When you contact support, you get the same tired scripts: "It’s an automated system," "We can’t override it," "It’s for your protection." It is the same condescending nonsense you hear from the big banks. These Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and "security" protocols are being taken way too far. These companies have let the power go to their heads, treating legitimate, returning customers like criminals without any human oversight to fix the error. How does it make sense to approve three transactions and then suddenly decide the fourth is fraud when nothing has changed? It is a broken, high-friction business model. I will be closing my account immediately and taking my business elsewhere. If Prezzee continues to treat their customers with this level of suspicion and incompetence, they won’t have a customer base left. Avoid this platform if you value your time and your money.

Purchased a smart card and was somehow left with $2 which cannot be use as they have a minimum of $5 on each brand. What is annoying Is the principal and I wonder how many two dollars get left on other people’s cards and how much profit they make from this. customer service weren’t helpful.

Do not ever use this company. There is no way of contacting anybody. I was on hold for three hours and still could not speak to anyone. I also have repeatedly emailed and got no response or a response that is just a generic ‘we are here to help’ and they don’t help! I have asked for an itemised list of my transactions which they can not provide!… Read more
Worse still they have stolen $100 from me for a Bunnings voucher that didn’t work! How many more people have the scammed???? Avoid at all costs it isn’t worth the headache.
Even after trying ‘mediation’ on here nothing was resolved as they again did not call me or sort the issues out and I’m still $100 out of pocket. Do not use this company it’s not worth the headache.
I have now lodged with small claims.
I never did receive my itemised account either. This company is fraudulent and owes me $100!
If I could give zero I would. Gave me a faulty gift card and customer service the worst. I got taken for 25 dollars. RUN @!! DON'T DO BUSINESS!!! TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T CARE! I put image showing how inactive the day is got it. Found out it was used in feb and I bought it September.

team. It’s now Tuesday and it remains unresolved. I had to make a 100km round trip to purchase a gift card in person as I needed it that day. Convenience and ease of use would be main components of Prezzees business model - this was neither. Customer service were no help at all. Despite explaining the issue in a message, they started with ‘what’s your order number’? You don’t get one of those until you make an order… the least they could do would gecko read the intial conversation with their bot before engaging with an already dissatisfied customer. Needless to say I will be cancelling my account and recommending anyone who reads this to avoid this business. I spent 2 hours trying to purchase 2 x $30 gift cards - what a waste of time.

Scammed out of $500. I received a $500 gift card from a business for a referral. I registered all my details as requested with prezzee. By the time I came to make a big purchase and wanted to use my gift card towards it, I logged in and noticed the card had a reduced balance and it was on hold. to tell me. There had been fraudulent activity on my card months earlier, it must have been hacked, it was used for some small test transactions which are typical of hackers and scammers, the card was attempted for a bitcoin purchase - which was declined and then used to purchase fast food. All of these purchases / attempted purchases were made in Spain/ Portugal, meanwhile I live in Australia and have not been to Spain. Someone in the financial tech fraud department must have recognised the suspicious activity on the card hence declining one of the transactions and placing the card on hold but no one told me. They had my contact details. The card was registered through Prezzee, in my name and linked to my email address and whatever other personal details they asked from me upon registering the card.. yet no one told me. I reported the unauthorised transactions yet the dispute was declined. I requested the case be re opened and I reported it with cyber police and scammers watch then I emailed the reference numbers over to prezzee. I also contacted Incomm and they offered to unblock the card so that I could at least use the remaining balance which was still over $400 but I said - if someone has hacked this card, what if the balance gets used by the scammer again before I get to use it? So they kept the card on hold whilst awaiting investigation. Prezzee contacted them and then got back to me to say the card is cancelled and if I want a refund I have to go through the person that gifted me the card. I explained I am the legal owner of that card and the cash value, I have no contact with the person that issued the gift card, I am the victim of fraud, it is my money, and this needs to be resolved with me, not through them. They cancelled my card and removed it from my Prezzee account. So I can’t even access the details anymore - I have plenty of screenshots though, from before they removed it. Not only did a scammer in a foreign country access a card that should have enough security in place that this doesn’t happen, not only was I victim to the scammer that hacked the card and purchased fast food in a different country but I was also a victim to Prezzee who between them and their partners have scammed me out of over $400 by cancellation the card and not even offering a refund or replacement. I was robbed twice - and prezzee and their partners robbed me of a value 10x more than the criminal that hacked my card.
Prezzee reached out but I had already exhausted my options With their internal escalation process.
Do not recommend at all! Was sent a gift card with a large amount of money, I accidentally clicked on a card under the impression that it would be able to be used anywhere - this isnt the case. Utter garbage! There is no easier way to put it - avoid this electronic gift card like the plague! PITA that was.
Opening the link in the email took me to the Prezzee web site where, to use the card, I had to set up an account - the site was sooo slooow!
In order to set up the account I had to hand over my name (yeah, right!), an email address AND my phone number. Why they couldn't just give me the d#mned card as guest...! I chose NOT to receive any offers or promotions! Woe betide them if they do spam me by email of phone.
Could I use the card now? No. I now had to convert the card to a brand card, so I searched for Bunnings and then discovered I could not even use the entire amount, the only option available to me was $10.
Back to the email, I then had to get the PIN, key that into the screen, which showed me I not had two cards ($10 & $5), tapped the $10, showed that resulting TWO bar codes to the till operator and paid the balance myself.
So after almost TEN minutes, jumping through unnecessary hoops, I finally got $10 off my purchase and am left with $5 in the Prezzee account which is essentially unusable and therefore wasted because I will NEVER voluntarily use this stupid service again.
I shall also be contacting Duracell about this ridiculous process and telling them that, as long as they insist on using Prezzee for refunds, I shall no longer buy their batteries, I bought Energizer today.
