Setting up the Linsoul IEM system with Smartphone:
The purpose of getting this Linsoul system, was to use it as a travelling companion for my smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The DAC width is smaller the bottom of the Samsung base, so fits snuggle underneath, with a centred USB male connector, which fits past the Samsung flip case I’m using.
The Linsoul Tripowin cable has a 3.5 mm jack which pugs into the side or edge of the Linsoul DAC and protrudes about 15 mm out from the left side of the phone, which when you have the phone in your front pocket; sits nicely, without your body pushing against the end of the jack, where the braided cable start.
After I purchased the Linsoul IEM set, I went back to Amazon and found a Linsoul metal case for the set, which is the size and shape of a boot polish tin. It has a felt type lining on both top and bottom inside the tin.
Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro IEM Comfort and adjustability:
I was initially concerned that having the IEM cable wrapped around the outside of my ear was going to be uncomfortable, with the cable cutting into the ear, where it joins my head. However, I was wrong and find that not only is it extremely comfortable, but it also grips and maintains the IEM’s position, without any discomfort or movement whatsoever.
The IEM’s come with several sizes of silicon ear tips, which I chose the largest. They are extremely comfortable and completely seal the ear, causing great sound isolation, as these IEM’s do not have ANC.
Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro IEM functionality:
These are IEM’s are ‘no frill’, as these don’t come with any buttons, hard or touch. There is no phone app either. They simply plug in and you use them as standard headphones but ones that are ‘in ear’.
For some reason, I really like this, as it makes you set up your music and then you just relax and listen. If I get a call, I can either leave it or pull the phone out of my pocket to answer, no big deal.
Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro IEM Sound:
These IEM’s are fairly well balanced, with some Internet frequency response measurements listing them as following the Harman target curve quite closely.
With my Samsung S25 Ultra, I found changing the sound profile from ‘Standard’ to ‘Dynamic’ gave the frequency bands a bit more clarity and punch, which is usual when you enhance the lower and upper frequencies, giving it more of a ‘V-shaped’ curve.
This change simply took the veil off the music, unmuting the overall presentation, with depth and punch where required.
Like all headphones; you need to settle them in and tweak them if necessary.
I am sure if I run the Linsoul IEM’s though my SMSL 400H – Chord Qutest dedicated headphone setup, they would sound different again and require a different kind of tweaking.
Cycling through playlists and genres really highlights what a good performer the Linsoul setup is. The Linsoul Kiwi Ears Allegro mini DAC performed perfectly with the IEM’s, giving all the frequencies a fair play though the Linsoul IEM’s.
Final Thoughts:
There are some things that just simply work. This Linsoul system does just that.
For the very low price point, for someone just getting into IEM’s, it has truly been an eye opener: that if something like this can sound this good, what do other IEM’s sound like at higher price points and with more in-built speakers.
Over the past 3-4 weeks I have reviewed quite a few website and YouTube videos on the subject and found that there is an absolute vast array or budget friendly IEM’s, mainly from China, that are of high quality.
The fact that I had no controls built into these IEM’s was no problem at all, because I already knew it. In some ways the experience is quite liberating, in freeing up the complexities of buttons, ANC and the other functions of wireless earbuds. There simply was nothing to set up or adjust or to charge up, like their wireless cousins.
So, realistically speaking; it was plug and play, set the source for the IEM’s and away you go. For what the Linsoul IEM’s and the other components do, in scoring these IEM’s and the system, I could only give them 100 out of 100. There is nothing I can fault.
This has been another Ant review. I hope you have enjoyed reading it, as much as I have had compiling it.
