The worst oven I have ever used in 40 years of serious cooking – I bought a 'Lofra Professional' cooker believing it was top of the range. It was worse than useless: the oven thermostat did not work, a replacement cost over 250 euros, and the replacement was worse than the original. It is an appalling piece of technology. Be warned! Don't buy it! The gas hobs worked Expensive, offers a 'professional' appearance but the oven performance is hopeless: erratic and inaccurate.

Don't buy. Bad product. Bad customer service – Over the course of 6 1/2 years, our oven has stopped working on numerous occasions because it needed two new selector switches, two new clocks and last night it caught fire. Parts are only covered under warranty for 12 months and servicing for 3 months. Consequently, we've not had many of these issues resolved under warranty, as they've mostly occurred 12-18 months after the previous issue and we have been out of pocket in some capacity for all of these fixes. Individually, these issues could be considered bad luck, but in other reviews, clearly this is not a good product. Aside from the repair costs, it is extraordinarily inconvenient to have your oven catch fire whilst you are trying to cook dinner, and we will obviously be without an oven for several days waiting for it to be repaired. When it works, it's a good oven. We haven't had any issues with the cooktop. If I'd known about these issues, I definitely wouldn't have bought it. It doesn't serve it's desired purpose and it is unsafe. And, the lady in the customer service department is frequently "unavailable".

Waste of money – We purchased our professional series four years ago. We had a Lofra in our previous home never missed a beat in seven years, only needed the oven seal replaced. So we chose to install a Lofra when building our new home and chose the top of the range model. We have had the thermostat replaced, the timer disconnected, the fuse board catch fire and replaced, the auto ignition go on four of the gas jets, the seal break and now the thermostat has gone again. Only one job covered under warranty and now we are told that replacement seals are no longer available. Going out to buy another oven. The size, the brass gas fittings, fish burner. Knobs heat up, too hot to touch, too many service calls, even caught fire!

Not sure which model number but it was the 900 top of the range four years ago. Gas top electric oven and the glass lining at the top of the oven.

I bought professional 9EGCSS in July 05, arrived with door not sealing steam escaping. Replaced oven with updated model six months after purchase. New oven arrived with oven door not sealed again. Under warranty replaced arms and seal, still no good. Warranty expired and have had 2 elements, 2 thermostats replaced and now died again. Had to have clock disconnected and son who is sparky says fuse board has caught fire at some stage. Got 20 yrs from old Chef, so disappointed paid alot for it. Never again Got to buy a new oven again.
